Faction Wars

Whether you made your own faction or joined a pre-existing one. You might have to participate in the politics that is expected of it, especially if you're a leader.

Factions are the backbone of conflict in Aurora, with many vying for territory and resources other alliances hold. Other than the main three powers, (The Representatives, Ravers, and Old West Soldiers) there are many others littered around the city. You can form alliances with some, or claim them in war. Both are valid ways to tackle them.

Once a faction toppled the three powers in their own way, they can annex The Uptown through diplomacy or war which will end the RP seeing that one faction is in complete control now. The Uptown will react differently depending on the means your faction gained power. So, some factions will have a harder time convincing them for willing annexation.

Faction Types

There are different ideology types which will dictate how your NPC faction members will act. You can make your own, but I will illuminate some.

The Community
This faction is less of an organized group of professionals, and more of a team of friends with the same goal in mind. They act as a faction of the people, and one person alone cannot decide the route of where the faction is going. It is always a team effort.

With this you can make a free, fair for all faction, but good luck trying to save it once it becomes wrought with infighting. These usually get harder to manage the more it grows.

(Recommended for close-knit friend groups or Democracy boys.)

One Above All
Your underlings follows your every move, obey your commands without question, and probably suck your dick when asked. You are the highest utmost power of the faction, and your minions know no alternative. You're simply messianic to them. There is almost no corruption and infighting in this faction due to their docile nature.

Since you're the only form of real leadership, you will have to manage almost everything yourself. But because you're choosing to run the faction like this: You probably want that, right?

(Recommended for Autocracies or people leading robot armies)

Mercenary Company
Most factions do what they do for a noble goal or some want to satiate their lust for power. You? You're in it for the money. Simple as that. You don't expand your territories, nor do you have any interest for changing the status quo. As long as the money's good, you'll help just about anyone.

Though, some stray away from that and have standards for who they help, but when it comes down to it: They still want money for their work. These factions usually get the most job offers. Build up enough of a successful reputation and you can raise your prices. Once you're on the top of the world, the biggest thing you have to worry about is other mercenary groups' jealousy and your own members' greed.

(Recommended for mercenaries and hitmen. Duh!)

The Three Powers

Ravers of Aurora

Ravers.png
Aurora: By the people -- For the people! That's what the ravers preach.

They are a group of harmless rebels turned into one of the biggest powerhouses of Cyanide City. Unlike most factions, it is on equal grounds with the corporations, and it is all thanks to their powerful leader. They're a massive threat no other company would dare oppose, let alone for other factions to stand against. Their leader is a cult of personality constantly spreading influence, and her underlings ruthless and cunning. Its members are ever growing, and so is its power.

Which makes their hedonistic and joyous culture even weirder.

Unlike the more formal and militaristic factions of Cyanide City. Ravers don't hold much experience, but they compensate with overwhelming forces and ingenuity. Guerilla warfare is their game, and they are also willing to throw themselves into the frontlines in a drug induced psychosis if needed. Many forces of Cyanide City stopped treating them like a joke after their display of force, trampling and looting those who dare oppose them.

Part of the reason they're constantly getting new members is the lifestyle that comes with being one. They preach of being truly free with the fun that comes with it. Drugs, sex, money, and parties are abundant in this faction. Doesn't help that their leader is a hedonistic celebrity.

She is the most successful idol in the city. She has the people's love, and is exploiting it to gain even more power against every faction and corporation in Aurora.
It is a varied faction of morally bankrupt whores, medheads, and even more, fighting so they can continue to have their way.

Soldiers of the Old West

A few years back: Corpses of the war rose from their graves, given another chance to rule again. Here we have some of the past members of the government as well, trying to claim the city and do it like the old ways. They were planning to simply integrate themselves into the new government, but what they saw disgusted them. A city of vice and corruption, instigating Westerners' inner demons for cash. This city was a perversion of what The Old West once was. They were always a rowdy bunch, but this was sickening to them. They will not stand for this, and they will make sure The West's new chance in civilization will not turn into a cesspit of barbarity.

They have the power of veterans, have great people backing them up, and they're all dedicated to one cause: To fix the city from its sins. They spread propaganda, reaching out to the heroes of Cyanide City with promises of peace and order. They're few and far between compared to the masses of Aurora, but even with their little numbers they're a force to be reckoned with.

They were terrifying enough as living beings, but their newfound powers of the undead gave them a larger advantage.

From hardened skeleton soldiers who have no biological weaknesses whatsoever to ghost agents who can sabotage with ease using spectral powers. Every single one of them is a true threat to deal with.

The Representatives

Representative.png
Their name is known, feared, loved, and hated by the people of Aurora: They're The Representatives, the main Corporate Regulators of this fine city.

The Representatives have a variety of refined skills that are equal to their authority. They use it to keep their control over the city, and have many uses for the corporations at large: From "diplomacy" to Assassinations, at least a dozen has the skill to complete any tasks thrown their way.

Well versed in Aurora's gang politics and skilled beyond the average Westerner. The Representatives are a faction of elites, and they won't accept anything less. In this faction you'll find the best of the best: Corporate Spies who've been unknowingly planted into enemy factions for years, Hitmen who can rival the legends of Aurora with exclusive weapons to boot, and "Diplomats" who successfully made minor factions completely docile to The Representative's control.

The factions in their pocket give them great influence all around. They are even granted benefits which depend on their loyalty. Show too much autonomy and The Representatives will stomp it down and reinforce their watching eye on you.

They're supposed to make sure none of the factions ever become too big for comfort, and every single member is taught how to break factions down with their own individual skill set. Whether they're a Spy, Diplomat, or Hitman: They will be a massive threat to your faction's growth.

Uptown

Across the cruel, inhospitable regions of Aurora, one district shines beyond the conflicts and problems that plague The City. Uptown, the biggest hope of The West and the only district that lives up to Aurora's promises of progress and new beginnings.

Activity filled the streets, and people from all around smiled at the joy this district brings. It is a safe haven for the heroes of Cyanide City and is a closely guarded treasure to its people. It has Service Bots everywhere, and especially Cop Bots. Its population and the wonders it does for the economy is a major factor as to why it's so guarded.

It's in a state of isolated neutrality, and most territorial factions leave it to itself out of respect, or fear of its capabilities when provoked.

However, factions can't deny how desirable it is. Whoever gains control of this district will also control Aurora's destiny itself. The Ravers and Old West Soldiers know this, and are always scheming to claim this district as their own. The only reason they haven't made any major attempts to claim it it yet is because of the three way stalemate the powers are having. Not to mention The Representatives were waiting for the other two to make a move towards The Uptown and leave themselves vulnerable to attack! So, the three are in a state of tense silence, waiting for something to tip the balance of power.

And not to be cheesy here, but that will be you.
