I'll play them all if I like the plot but I go for mainly fantasy and magical. I like anything that wouldn't happen to you in everyday life. I mean if you can live it why role play it.
Long ago, dragons ruled the earth and all of its creatures. Now, however, they are scarce and hard to come by- the outcome of a huge war that lasted centuries between dragons and humans. While most other creatures stayed out of the battles, a few species- mostly deer-kin, eagle-kin, and wolf-kin- took sides, even sometimes switched to the other if they had a change of mind. The deer-kin, a centaur-like race, was on the dragon's side the whole war. They claimed the dragons were the greatest source of magic in the world, and destroying them would vanquish magic from Earth. They were strong nature-magic users themselves, so naturally they did not want this. The eagle-kin, a harpy-looking race, almost always took the human's side. They originally sided with the dragons, but only after eight years they switched. They aided the humans because in the past, dragons and the eagle-kin Clans had never been fond of eachother, though the eagles claimed it was for other reasons. The wolf-kin, werewolves mostly, changed sides almost constantly. It was quickly clear that they were not to be trusted, and were more like mercenaries, unloyal to anything but their wolf commander. Despite the equal forces, dragons were always stronger. They had magic, strength, and wisdom on their side. But they did not have numbers, for dragons bred rarely and took decades to even reach teenage years. But still, they won nearly every single battle in the first few hundred years, but toward the end, in the last ten years, the humans invented something...something that dramatically changed the tides. They created a weapon and an armor out of dragon scales and feathers. The weapon could shoot dragons out of the sky- it paralyzed them, and if the fall did not kill the beast, the humans would. They only had resources for three of these weapons, or else the war would have ended much quicker. The armor they made, out of the same materials, protected them against dragon tooth, claw, and flame.
The humans obliterated the dragons in the last decade.
Few are left now of the dragon race. It's been that way for two centuries, hardly any time in the dragon's years. They are still heavily scarred, while the humans have recovered and strengthened. So the dragons, along with the rest of the magic-world creatures- who were all banished, save for the eagle-kin who live among humans freely- hid. They hide mainly in mountains, deep caves, or thick forests.
But one dragon, Akar'Oth, rose one day. He was not an old dragon, but he had fought in the last half century of the Great Battle, resulting in many scars on his hide. He spoke of ways to get revenge. Akar'Oth explained the ancient tale of vampires breeding among humans and producing powerful, unique children. Akar'Oth said that if they create monsters among humans, that their own children will tear them apart- for they'd have the dragon's blood, which carried the need for revenge strongly.
Over several years, dragons transformed themselves into humans and mingled, but never forced a human into anything- they wished to not let the humans be able to say they did. They produced hundreds of children, though few dragons actually decided to remain with their human partner rather than return to the dragon world once their mission was completed. These were shunned, and were to never come back to the magic world.
The children of dragon and human was just as Akar'Oth predicted. With traits both of human and dragon, they were considered monsters among the humans. They sometimes were scaled, sometimes with tail or wing, or claw. They all appeared mostly human, though. Most could breathe fire and had special powers passed down from their dragon parent.
On this went for a century. Dragons silently invaded the human world. It was soon discovered that the halflings aged slowly and lived long lives, though how long is not yet known for the eldest is merely as old as the mission- 98 years old, and still youthful, only appearing in the late teenage years of a human.
The dragons, finally satisfied, retreated back to their hidings to watch their creations grow and form. The humans, not completely sure how this came upon them, frequently shunned the halflings. But as the century progressed and more showed up, they slowly became somewhat accepted, though their quick temper and strange powers often get them into trouble. Many were secretly kilt, but many more remain. What their dragon parents have in store for them, we have yet to find out.

The halflings do not know they are half dragon- yet! And VERY few can be a pure dragon.

Extra Information

* The roleplay takes place mostly in a city, or in the surrounding town/lands.
* Though you can play halflings and humans, please remember that halflings can be old and still look young- they can be up to 97 years old.
* Other magical creatures exist but have to be approved like everything else.

Rules

1; Minor powers ONLY, and humans can have powers but little. (Breathing fire does not count as a power, though not all halflings can do that)

2; Halflings have dragon and human traits, but are NOT dragons.

3; No powerplaying.

4; Type at least three good sentences per post.

5; Please try to keep the roleplay realistic as possible. (This includes the fact that if you are a kid, you'll live with your mother or father, whichever was human, or another family member- but they do NOT have to be a character of yours)

6; Please keep both the number of halflings-humans equal. If you see a ton of halflings and few humans, please make one or two human and a halfling rather than three halflings! Same with genders- I don't want fourty girls and two boys. (You must have a boy for every two girl.

7; If you are gona 'do it' please put 'fades to black' or something. I would like some romance, but when it gets that deep, we don't really want to see it. You can have children, idc.

8; Remember if you play a halfling, that they are not really accepted- only barely. They'll get dirty looks and bullied, most likely.
