It begins as always with Zhang Jiao and the Yellow Turban Rebellion. Officers and leaders distinguish themselves in battle and rise to untold power. In the midst of the Rebellion, Feudalism also tears the land asunder as forces who should be allies take the opportunity to grow their holdings. Leaders like Cao Cao and Yuan Shao shrewdly fight two fronts in order to fulfill all of their goals. So we have the Yellow Turbans led by Zhang Jiao, and the loyalists, led by Yuan Shao. Within the loyalists, there are those loyal to the Han, and those loyal to themselves, Cao Cao, Lu Bu, and Dong Zhuo. But whose side are you on? Or will you make a stand for your own beliefs? Will you protect the Han Emperor, or seek to usurp him?
We decide what happens. History will not dictate our actions here. Here, we take on the roles of footsoldiers turned officers, or officers turned rulers, or rulers turned usurpers.
And another question is posed. Who are you? Are you the mighty Huang Gai? Or are you the officer lost to history?
While a bit early to actually be proposing characters, players may take the role of Officers from Dynasty Warriors, other historical figures, or even a completely original character - it is there choice. And nothing is set in stone.
