OOC Chat and Rp Discussion
Character Creation and Index

Characters help each other escape a fiery death from the building they are being held captive in. When they manage to escape they run and hide somewhere within the city, after some talking, characters then decided to form a pack and leave the city for some place better.

Somewhere deep within the city, between the dark alleyways sits an old apartment-like building used for illegal and seedy practices. In one of rooms of this "apartment "lay a few kennels with dogs residing inside, captured by or sold to the humans who work in this old building. Aside from the kennels, the room is empty with off-white wall paint. On one side of the wall is a locked, dirty, window that only gives the view of the side of another grimy building, not a trace of sky insight due to its positioning.

Rose/// Location: City, "apartment" building/// Interacting with: Harlo /// Mentions: other dogs

The room was dimly lit by the bright lights of city outside, casting striped shadows from the bars of a cage over the russet pelt of a she-dog. Muffled through the walls, the city continued to bustle with life even in the dead of night. Cars were blaring, screeching, speeding, such a racket. The dog would've never believed she would miss the noise, and yet she did. It was better than hearing the constant howling and wails of dogs back at The Ring, here in this barely lit, nearly quiet little room... there was peace.

However, it was a temporary and false sense of peace. There were, on the occasion, through the walls a cry, a sob, yelling, barking that would go about for minutes or even hours. Sometimes it would just be dead silent in this building, aside from the outside commotion of course. Rose didn't know what was going on in this place, she's been here for four days and still hadn't a clue the purpose of her being here. Her master had sold her, she witness the trade peering through her original, smaller kennel, muzzle secured tightly over her snout. Master was given the money and she was given to another human, practically tossed into a van and the next thing she knew she was being dragged the halls of this dirty old structure. Passing by equally dirty old doors, stained with who-knows-what, with the sound of dogs' cries and whimpers from behind said doors.

She was thrown here, in this very kennel and was brought fresh food and water everyday. Rose had long since given up on trying to see what was it that wanted from her and why her human had sold her to such a place. The room was practically damn near empty, aside from the kennels that were propped against one side of the wall. There was a door at one end where the humans come in and out, then there was the window that only gave the view of a brick wall of another building. Other dogs began filling the empty kennels around her, some were already here before she had entered herself, but she hardly paid them any mind.

"Psst, aye!"

Particularly the annoying one.

"Come on! I know you're awake!"

Rose continued to ignore the brute that was unfortunately her neighbor. He was a new face, that that she has much of a good view of said face. The brute was dragged in earlier during the night while unconscious and literally tossed into the kennel beside the she-dog's. When he had awoken, he wouldn't shut his trap for the longest, damn mouth ran on and on asking pointless questions that in the end wouldn't matter. Though Rose may not know what was in store for her here, she knew, certainly, that it would not be in her nor any other dogs' favor. This was not The Ring, there was no place for dogs to fight and she was not thrown into an arena or training area. The cries of other dogs she heard on her first day, where not the cries of battle, no snarling nor growling. They were pleading cries, cries for help, for death.

And that's what she assumed this place was... a place for dogs to die.

Rose had been examining the lock of her cage door, similar to the one of her previous pens during her younger days in The Ring. She managed the unlock her former cage back then and tasted freedom for the first time in her life before being re-captured and placed back into a cage with a much more sturdier lock. She had done this with the use of her claws, they were just long enough now to repeat her escape all that time ago, but she had yet to make such a bold move. If she were to leave the cage, what then? The window was shut tight, even it weren't there was no doubt they were a good few stories above the ground. Then there was the door, but humans could be just outside guarding it, if that wasn't the case... well... then she still wouldn't know what to do. She was clueless as to the layout of this place, the only exist she knew of could be found through countless twists and turns, a complete maze.

Pressing herself firmly against the wall of her kennel, Rose's eyes narrowed as she lost herself deep in thought for the hundredth time. Her mental wanderings put on hold by the chatty brute. "Heeey~" long, pathetic whine wheezed from her neighbor that finally made the she-dog snap. "What?! What you obnoxious welp!?" a deep growl rumbled from within her throat as her head jerked upwards, glare now flashing to the wall on her right where the other kennel sat. "No need to be rude..." the brute's mumble was responded with an agitated huff. "Do you or anyone else know what the hell is going on?"

Rose wish she knew, but the longer she stayed her, the more she thought about the cries... perhaps she didn't want to know.

Harlo/// Location: City, "apartment" building/// Interacting with: Harlo /// Mentions: other dogs

Harlo had no idea how it came to this.

One minute he was let out by his human boy to relieve himself in the backyard, next thing he knew he felt a sharp pain in his hind quarter and everything went black. In and out of consciousness in the back of some windowless van till he woke up fully again to see he was caged in some dingy steel kennel. They could've at least cleaned it first, it smelled like some other dog was here before him. He tried taking in his surroundings, but that was pointless. The room was poorly lit, blank, save for the window and door on either ends of the room. The fae that was kenneled beside him was of no help either. Silent type, grouchy type. He had a feeling she din't know much either anyways.

He's heard of stories, dogs being snatched from their yards by some humans only to be sold off to Alba-knows-where. Was he a victim of this? It was the only possible explanation. Great. Now his humans are possibly running about trying to find him, worried sick. He had to find a way out of here, too bad he was never good at unlocking his cage door back home. The window was an option, but only if he managed to get out of this cage, then there was the fact that the window was locked, because of course it was.

Harlo attempted to speak to the fae again, after he was given a huff. "Do you or anyone else know what the hell is going on?" he then moved closer to the front of his cage, pressing a wet nose against the cold metal bars. "I mean, where in the hell are we anyways?" the brute's home was in a quaint little neighborhood in a quaint little town, not in some loud-ass city. He could even hear the blaring car horns from in here! How long was he out? The last city he's ever been too was when he and his human family went on a trip. It took an entire day and night just to get there...

Arro

It was dark, the sounds of cars and horns blaring could be heard outside. That just seemed to settle just that much more how far away they were from home. Sure Arro was use to a little bit of sound at night, but nothing loud like a city like this. Especially not at this time of night, it had to be at least around midnight, he guessed, by just how low the lighting was in the building. Her was being dragged by his neck a thick wire cinched around his airway, a thick muzzle holding his mouth shut, preventing him from retaliating against his human captor. He was being dragged, his nails scratching and squealing against the floors as he tried to pull back, to get out of the humans grasp. His gold eyes drifted over to his sister, being carried in the arms of another human.

It had been their first day back as a team together, the force finally giving in and taking the risk of letting River back into the field. Things took a nasty turn quickly after they pursed a suspect. They'd been caught with long metal poles around their necks, River quickly sedated when she wouldn't calm. It'd been hours now since he'd been thrown into the back of a dark van, no windows and the rough ride made it impossible for him to try and memorize where they were going. He'd laid at River's side the entire time, hoping she'd wake soon.

Now, he could see the signs of her coming too, eyes blinking groggily, barely taking in the space around them. The smell of death, others dogs was almost overwhelming, suffocating even. He knew his sister well enough to know she was starting to put everything together, even in a hazed state of mind. Watched her body begin to tense in the arms she was being carried in.

He struggled harder against the humans hold, ignoring the curses letting lose from the man throat. He needed to get away, to help his sister. There was a door coming up ahead now, could hear voices of other dogs inside. The sounds of pain sounding out from somewhere else in the building he'd been taken to. He growled lowly as the door was swung open by the man holding him, kennels lined the walls and there was nothing else in the room but them and a window on the opposite wall. Despite his struggle he was still pushed and shoved into a cage, the latch snapping behind him before he was whipping around slamming against the bars. His eyes turned to his sister, being carried through the door now, she was beginning to lift her head.

There was nothing he could do but watch the next few minutes unfold.

River

River was barely gathering everything that had happened, first they'd been caught and after almost sinking her teeth into one of their hands she'd felt a sharp pain in her thigh and shortly afterwards everything went dark. Now, the day was long gone, dark filling the space around her. She could smell blood and death, acutely aware she was moving but not on her own. She was being carried. The sharp cry of another dog woke her more, lifting her head, blurry eyes catching sight of her brother being forced into a cage a size too small.

It was that instant she was awake, she didn't take anymore of her surrounding. She did the first thing that came to mind, throwing herself to the ground after squirming, claws digging into her captors skin making her let her go. She landed on her feet, prepared for the fall and even on unsteady legs she twisted around, lunging at the man who once held her. She tasted the familiar flavor of copper on her tongue, using all her weight to drag the man to the ground. His scream of pain absolutely satisfying to her ears.

"Get it the fuck off me!" Screeched the man in her jaws grasp, punching at the side of her head. Making the world sway, she didn't let up though. More than able to take the beating, she'd been raised to do this. Her assault was cut short. The same metal pole that had once held tight around her brothers neck was forced between her teeth and the mans arm. The pain sharp enough to force her to let go. The metal pole was used as a block as she was back into one of the cages low to the ground.

Even in the dark with the small amount of light filtering in through the window she could see the mess she had made, blood smeared across the floor, the human lying there panting for a long moment before they forced themselves to stand. Their mauled arm cradled to their chest, "she better be gone quick." The man huffed, it must not have been the first time he's been bit, acting much too casual for him to not have been.

Almost in sync the two Malinois' watched the men leave the room, as soon the the door slammed shut behind them she could see Arro working at forcing his muzzle off. She licked her lips loudly, cleaning her chops of the blood built up there. Her eyes trailed over to some of the other dogs in the room, locked away behind bars. She huffed and sniffed along the door to the cage she was kept.

"River," her brother suddenly warns, the muzzle shoved back into the corner of his cage now. Nothing kept the two siblings trapped for long. She ignores her brothers voice however, instead hooking her canines around the bottom side of the kennel door, beginning to tug back. "River!" He barks, a low growl following it, watching the fur along her back bristle. Even now, she still hated listening to others. "Don't break your teeth just because your mad." He huffs, pressing his nose against the back of his lock. It wasn't a very difficult latch, the two siblings already planning their escape.

Harlo/// Location: City, "apartment" building/// Interacting with: Arro, River /// Mentions: n/a @Fireflies

Harlo nearly jumped out of his hide as the door swung open, revealing a set of humans bringing two more captures. Both put up a fight, but the fae was clearly a force to be reckoned with, Harlo couldn't imagine himself being so bold as to not only bite, but to actually latch onto a human like that? That's just asking to be put down.

Brute flinched back as both dogs were roughly placed within their own kennels. Blood was smeared over the pale floor and covered the bitten victim's arm. "She better be gone quick." Harlo caught the man muttering before he and his companion left, closing the door behind them. 'Now what did that mean?' the longer he sat in this cage, the sense of dread only increased. The room was now filled the smell human blood, a pungent and irony stench that held over the brute's nose. The bridge of his muzzle wrinkled in disgust, the sight of bright crimson staining the floor didn't help either. Never would he call himself the squeamish type, but that wasn't to say he liked seeing something that should be inside the body suddenly spew outside.

Harlo's attention snapped away from red spilt floors to the sound of the bars of a cage door rattling along with the snarls of one of the newest additions to the room. The bitey-fae, who took a nasty pole to the jaws, was now tugging at the bars of the kennel's door with her bare teeth. "Hey! I'd listen to your friend over there." The brute warned, "Who knows? Ya might still need 'em if those humans comeback."

"They will be back." It was that grumpy fae beside him that decided to finally speak again. "Knowing humans, they don't take kindly to mouthyness. Mouthy ones tend to be the first to go." Harlo swiped a tongue nervously over his maw, "Aw come on. Don't go and say scary shit like that." He didn't mean to whine, honestly he didn't, but deep down… he had a feeling that grumpy-fae might be right…

"Hey, you." He quickly flashed eyes to the formerly-muzzled brute who was brought in with the aggressive fae, he seemed like the calmer out of the two. "I'm guessing you and Bitey over there have no idea what's going on either? Or where we are even?" Harlo paused for a moment. "I mean, I just kinda woke up here and obviously, this place ain't my house." The dog lifted his head some to look out the window to once again hear another blaring car horn and dim flash of flight crossing the window, faintly illuminating the dark room for a brief moment.

Rose/// Location: City, "apartment" building/// Interacting with: Harlo, Arro, River @Fireflies /// Mentions: other dogs

Rose watched, nearly unmoved, by the sight of the struggling dogs that were dragged in. She didn't see a point in making such a fuss, much less causing one of the humans to bleed, that'll only make thing much worse for that fae in the future no doubt. Not that it concerned her. Pale yellowish eyes watched as one of the two began gnawing and pulling at the metal bars of her cage. Short tempered that one, the other seemed more level headed, certainly knew his ways out of a muzzle. She examined the new pair, they looked to be of sort of shepherds, but she's never seen this breed with such strange markings. What did she know anyways? Wasn't like she was an expert on breeds to begin, most she knew of were pits, shepherds and rotts. That was about it…

Her ears would twitch some by the brute that was kenneled beside her who had now decided to turn his blathering mouth on the new arrivals. More pointless questions. Why ask, when you can just do. That mouthy fae certainly had the right idea, escape, but biting her way out possibly wasn't the best option. "If I were you, I'd save that energy and put it to better use." Nosing the lock of the cage door for a brief moment, still contemplating on what do for escape. Just unlock the cage, then…. Then what? The door was a big 'No', humans could just walk in and out at random, there was no schedule for them. The window was an option… Rose heaved a deep sigh, her mind running in circles and repeating itself again. The window was the only option for her it seemed. She could undo the latch on that window and then… take a leap of faith? Yea right…

'Enough waiting.' with that mental scolding, she finally made her choice. Taking a claw, Rose poked and prodded at the lock, it wiggled for a moment before making soft 'click'. Nudging the cage door open carefully, she lightly stepped out. "There goes step one, now for step two…" she mumbled to herself before flicking her eyes over the other captured dogs briefly before quickly flickering her attention towards the window. A thought crossing her, she couldn't just leave the rest of them here… could she? What would she even do with the lot of them? Easy for one dog to slip out, but group is risky, draw way too much attention. 'Just leave them here to die then?' her stomach twisted in guilt, despite her reasoning of not being able to save every dog.

Approaching the window, the fae would scratch at the latches, ignoring the talkative brute's whines. "Hey, wait! What about us?!" Rose's eyes narrowed, she miscalculated. Turns out, she had no idea how to open this lock. "Damn." A growl rumbled from her throat.

Trix and Zeus// Location: City - Apartment Building

"This one is a great Labrador brute specimen! We can sell his semen for a few hundreds in the black market."

"Yes, so lets keep him instead of using him for experiments. God damn! We're so fucking lucky he came to us!"

"He was chasing this freesby, that's why he came here, you idiot. Now, shut up and put him in the Jeep and lets bail. His owners could arrive soon."

The memories of that day came to Trix's mind as he slept. Soon, everything turned into a nightmare, making him whimper slightly and move his legs once in a while, breathing deeply and mumbling that he needed to return to his family. The worst part was that even when he tried to wake up, he simply couldn't.

Suddendly, a kind of long, fluffy tail slipped through the bars of his cage and landed on his nose. Trix's nose twitched, but he didn't wake up. As the tail began to gently sway around the nose, it began to twitch more until Trix finally sneezed, waking up from his nightmare. Opening his brown eyes, Trix slowly stood up and looked around with a disoriented expression.

"You still been in the apartment with me, Trixie," said Zeus, an Elder brute and Trix's friend. He was held in the kennel next to him, on his right. The old Aussie chuckled as he slowly slipped back his tail to his cage and move his head to his left, looking up at the small window. By the dim light that was entering through the glass, he guessed it was midnight already. "I just woke you because you was having a nightmare. You're welcome, buddy."

Trix sighed and bend over his front legs, yawning while stretching. "Thank you, Zeus," he said as he sat, looking down at the lock of his cage. "That's why I hate sleeping. These nightmares has been chasing me for 6 months now. I'm so lucky to still being sane. Did I missed something while I was sleeping?"

Zeus nodded as he laid on his belly, crossing his front legs as he looked over at the cage of Harlo. "He's the new Brute around here. He was brought like half an hour earlier. They poor dog is so confused and earned a growl from that grumpy fae for not catching the hint that she gave him to just be quiet." Zeus chuckled as he spoke. "Boy, she's fire. As expected from a dog that belonged to a Ring. Why do I know, you ask? Well, you just need to take nice look at her to catch that vibe instantly."

Trix did just what Zeus said and put his eyes to a beautiful mutt fae that was in a cage across his. He observed her carefully, but couldn't guess she was a fight dog like Zeus said. The only thing he caught was the scent of roses and mulch among the stench of blood and humidity of the room. Trix tilted his head in confusion and looked at Zeus. "How the hell you can do that?" he asked and Zeus just laughed. "I'm 8 years old, my dear Trixie. This old brute have seen a lot. Besides, I believe that Albalapis gave me this gift."

Rolling his eyes to his right, Trix sighed as he remembered how much Zeus believes in Albalapis, the goddess of the moon, and the stories of how she created the canine kind. Secretely, Trix was quite fascinated, though, especially by that story he once told him, about a forest with white trees that had golden leaves. A paradise where mankind couldn't enter and canines could run wild and free. It sounded more like a fairytale for puppies, but Zeus told the tale so seriuosly that even non-believers could change their minds and join the Luminari faith.

"I'm ready to make my 37th escape attempt," the black Lab said, raising his right paw and looking at a claw. "I have a mental map of the hallway behind that door by now, so it's going to be easy." Zeus turned his head to looked at him with a mocking expression. "I'm pretty sure you have said that like 36 times before your attempts, Trixie. Just be a good boy and stay. They will put you again in that cold room for a full day as a punishment if you don't stop it already." Trix pouted and lowered his paw, looking away in a dismissive attitude. "T-This time it will work and I will get us out from here at last," he said stuttering and embarrassed. "I have an strategy. If a human appear in front of me, I just need to bite his hind zone, right into his balls for effectiveness."

Laughing out loud with amusement, Zeus looked at him to say something, but was caught off by the sudden blast of the door opening. Two men entered the room, one of them bleeding badly, as they dragged in a really pissed fae and a brute that seemed surprisingly chill. Trix opened his eyes widely, kind of shocked by the scene, but Zeus watched unamused for a few seconds before sleeping out of the blue, snoring loudly. Trix looked over at him and smacked his face by slipping his tail through the bars of his cage.

"Roasted squirels!" barked the old Aussie as he woke up after the hit, standing on his paws while quickly looking around. Trix sighed and shook his head, feeling sorry for his good friend. As the men put the new dogs in their cages, they left the room, leaving behind a strong smell of fresh blood in the air. Trix looked away with disgust even when he was already used to it and Zeus simply scratched the right side of his head with his right hind leg. "Oh, look at that, they brought in more of us," he said after scratching, looking over at the wild fae that was biting a bar of her cage. "Ah, she's another troublemaker. Looks like you could have a friend for that cold room in the future, Trixie."

"Ha, ha, very funny," replied the Lab with sarcasm. "At least she knows that this isn't a good place to be and is attempting to get out and not giving up like somebody I know." Zeus scoffed and slowly laid on his cage, sighing as he looked down at the lock of his cage. "It's really not worth for me escaping this place anyways," he said, lightly pawing at the lock with his right paw. "The family I thought that loved me betrayed me, well, the mother actually. Her children cried for me when she let these men take me away. So, what's the point in getting out of here if there's no place to belong out there?"

"Freedom and hopes to be adopted by another family that will really love you," replied Trix, looking down at Zeus. "There's a lot of good people out there that I'm sure are willing to let a wonderful old Aussie enter their lives. You just need to believe just as much you believe in Albalapis." Zeus stopped playing with the lock and smiled warmly as he listened to Trix. As he finished, he nodded. "Thanks, buddy. You know, I really appreciate your company a lot. You're definitely the best thing that have happened to me after my beloved Rain."

"Any time, my old friend," Trix replied with a caring smile. Then, he looked out through his cage at the newcommers, Harlo beginning to shoot questions at the calm brute. He sighed, thinking how could he do that to him after seeing him arriving a few minutes before. He could be as clueless like him. When he was about to tell him something, the clicking sound of a opening lock made his ears perked up. Staring at the grumpy mutt fae, he realized that she escaped from her cage and was attemping to get out of the building through the sealed window.

"Don't you even think about it, Trix," said Zeus after sensing the curious Lab's urge to join her. Trix smirked and slowly looked at him, raising his right paw. "You more than any dog here knows that I will do the opposite of that," he said and Zeus sighed, scoffing. "Do whatever you want, you reckless animal. It's a suicide idea, by the way. I bet we are in a high floor." Trix shrugged and began to pick the lock of his cage. After a few seconds, another click echoed around the room, then, Trix jumped out, landing gracefully on his paws. He quickly walked toward the fae, avoiding to stand on the fallen blood of the man from before.

"Maybe I can unlock it if I take a closer look at it," he told her, stopping beside the fae while looking up at the window. "I've been thinking a lot about this window all these 6 months I've been here, but seeing you having the balls to try to escape through it gave me courage." Zeus stood up and looked down at them. "I think you should see if we are in a high floor before trying to open that sealed thing, Trixie," he said, putting his eyes on the window. "You may be smart, but this is an impposible task, as well. It's a sealed window, you know?" Trix grinned with a chuckle. "Nothing is impposible, Zeus."

0000 hours : Location unspecified : Early Fall : Day count-7

The events of the following day followed the same procedure as the days prior. At the crack of dawn 'They' came as scheduled to fill the water and food bowls within the metal boxes that currently contained various candid breeds, then they leave. There was always two. One for each side of the wall where the metal boxes were currently placed. Their scent smelled the usual: wrong, death, danger. Always the same. Hours would go by before they would come again around 1400 hours, refilling the bowls, then leave. Then once more they come around 2300 hours, and then they are gone for the rest of the night, only to repeat the routine again the next day. Such was the procedure, day in and day out.

Only two things changed the schedule.

0023 - Two new faces, both were of the same breed, German Shepherds. No... Not German Shepherds, but the fur was similar. A fae and a brute, both look to be related. The fae is a biter, aggressive, the brute appearing to be the calmer of the two. There was a scent about them, a scent that relayed that both may be familiar with gunpowder. They look like a type of warrior, the male especially, a possible ally? The fae could prove dangerous, fatal, uncooperative.

There was another fae almost like her. The same fire, but calmer. Not too far down. Another brute, younger, seems to talk a lot and annoy her.

Tye was tucked away in the very corner of the metal boxes that they have been placed in. It was in his corner upon the floor that he remained, resting upon his belly and his body still, appearing as though he had truly given up before even starting. But it was there that he recorded everything. He counted the time, or at the very least the closest he could get, but it was difficult when he was unable to see the stars and moon from the window above. He had been trained for situations such as this. It was always a bad idea to act out, for it warned the enemy of your strength and brutality, and it prepared them. It made them cautious, made them wary, and therefore escape is made all the more difficult.

Lower their guard, find a weakness, wait and then deploy. Take the best chance of escape. That was what he had been trained to do. To appear weaker than he truly was, to appear nonlethal, and then the enemy would underestimate him. So there he lay, silent all the while, never attempting to make a sound to follow suit with all the other cries of dogs. He had been there a little before the red fae came, and then the brute beside her, and now the two newest faces. Anyone else had been here before he had been, but he had never attempted in making conversation, only listened and recorded. Every single important event.

Such as now. The time was perhaps 0100 by now, or near, he was not sure. His ear twitched at the sound of a 'click', and soon after, the red fae had appeared before his cage. Being that his cage was in a corner, it was set right beneath the window, and so he had a clear view of the fae that attempted to undo the lock on the window. Soon after came the black lab that he knew to be Trix, having listened in on a few conversations between him and the older brute, Zeus. His blue orbs watched the two as they tried to figure out the window, but such a feat was pointless, for he knew that they were at the very least more than one story high. There had been several occasions he had witnessed birds perch up there or fly by. They did not fly that low to the ground, and he had recalled stairs when they had brought him here. When they had brought him here in the big metal box with wheels, he did not show any sign of aggression when they opened the door, and he had allowed them to place the muzzle over his head and clip the leash on his collar.

Seeing no threat they had walked him out as is, and he followed along like an 'obedient' dog. They had him. There was no point in struggling or fighting, but better yet to see and understand the layout of which they were bringing him forth. They thought him only as a stupid mutt, so of course thought nothing of it, and lead him along while breaking into good moods. Perhaps pleased that for once they didn't have to handle another trouble maker. Tye remembered clearly of stairs, there had been two sets, so they were on the third floor. That is, that was what he believed, so opening the window would do them no good. Not unless there was some sort of ledge beneath or somewhere they could jump down into, such as a dumpster of some kind, but that was still risky.

For the first time since he came to this place, Tye lifted his head and peered at the two candids pass the bars, his demeanor calm as he spoke. "Perhaps a better plan is in order." He told them.

He stood up now. The chance of escape had presented itself before him, and if so many dogs were willing to cooperate, then perhaps it could be possible.
"I can lend some assistance." He informed the red fae, and he reached his paw out to unlock his cage door in much of the same manner as she had done. He pushed the door with his muzzle, stepping out till his pawpads touched the stone floor. "They will not be back till 0600 hours, at the crack of dawn, unless they bring another dog in. I may have a plan..."

He glanced towards the door. "That may be our better option." He turned his attention back to the red fae and the black brute. "I know that we are not on the ground floor, so unless there is somewhere we can jump safely down, the following result will only end in us becoming flat furry pancakes." He gestured to the black brute with his snout. "I have overheard him talk, and I have been here for a little while, but it appears that he may know the layout of this place a little better than us." He tilted his head ever so slightly. "That is, if what you have said is true."

His attention returned to the red fae. "So that is one plan. We can try to unlock the door, as I am sure it will be locked, but opening it shouldn't be a problem afterwards." It was, after all, one of those long handles he could easily have his front paws hook over once he jumped up, unlike those handles that were round and shaped like balls. "And we follow his layout of the place." He gestured to the black lab.

The bottom corner of her cage door was pulled in slightly, it wasn't the most practical route of escape, but it was clearly one she could have taken if she desired. Her fur bristled up at being addressed by another dog, a shepherd by the looks of it. She huffed, but didn't bother him with a response, sharp eyes turning on the red colored female in the kennel beside him. She simply rolled her eyes, she wasn't concerned in the least. She would by gone by the time any humans decided to come back. She took a moment to check her surroundings, the various kennels lining the walls, it wasn't like a fighting ring though. She'd only ever seen the likes of a place like this once before, back on a case with Vortex.

She huffed, taking in the appearance of the few dogs she could get her sights on from her position low to the floor. The bloody smear slowly beginning to dry around the edges. She wasn't bother by it in the least, she'd seen more than that before. She licked her lips once more, trying to swipe them clean. There was a black Labrador, a Australian Shepherd as well besides the first other two dogs. They were communicating back and forth, but she didn't bother to try and listen in. The click sounding caught her attention while she watched the kennel door to the red fae swing open, the dog climbing out and then heading towards the window. She gave an amused huff, knowing the effort was useless.

She glared over at the whining shepherd, "what, can't get your own self out?" She snarked, next came the Labrador making his way out, then a Husky mix she hadn't noticed before. She turned her attention back to her brother, "I'm not waiting to die here." She told him, easily nosing at the latch to her cage. Not a second later she was nudging open her kennel and joining the other dogs out on the floor. She paid them no mind at the moment, moving to undo her brothers kennel. He could do it himself, but it was quicker to undo the locks from the outside.

She trots her way over to the door just as her brother his stepping out of his own cage, "River," the fae paused at the sound of her brothers voice. She turned to him with narrowed eyes, already knowing what he was about to say. They seem to communicate with just their eyes for a moment, until it ended with River growling with a slight curl of her lip. "Fine," she snipes, "I'll open the door." She said, placing her paws up on the wall beside the door. She began to mouth at the doorknob, ones shaped like this was trickier, but nothing a little persistence and knowing the right angle made the latch click open and she pulled the door open just enough she could peer through the gap.

Arro

The brute gave the shepherd an amused look, "I wouldn't call her by any other name than River." He says simply, voice calm for the situation they'd just been thrown into and after just scolding his sister. Though, just the same he was serious, his sister's temper wasn't something to be tampered with. "But no, I can't say I'm aware of exactly were we are or specifically what's going on here." He hadn't been on ever case his sister had been on, she was always used when they needed straight fire power.

Arro turns his attention to the older Australian Shepherd that addressed the white marked shepherd mix. "She's my sister, she growls more often than not." He chuckles loosely, oddly very level headed for everything. He watched with curious eyes when the red female unlatched her kennel, and soon enough it seemed like everyone was getting out of their kennels. He huffed, watching his sister as she undid her door, loyally moving to undo his.

When he caught her quickly heading towards the door he gritted out her name, their silent conversation short before she gave in. "You do that then," He says, moving to undo the latch for the younger shepherd mix, not even a second later he was pulling the door open. He figured by not only his remark, and by the fact that he wasn't out already he wasn't aware on just how to escape the kennel on his own.

He looks over to the three dogs by the window for a moment, the Husky mix, the red female, and the black Labrador. "If we wan't to be successful getting out of here, were going to be better off sticking together." He suggests, moving to stand near them for a moment. "The faster we move though, the better. River injured one of the humans, pretty badly at that." He says, looking pointedly at the blood on the floor. "The humans are likely a bit distracted at the moment if there's any in the building."

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds--Oh! That bird that Faith loves was tweeting up a storm! Hawk just knew that as soon as he nosed open Faith's door, he would find her staring out of her window and watching the colorful bird with great fascination. He had to finish doing his rounds first, though. Faith only left her room when Hawk patrolled the yard three times, and the downstairs twice. It was a necessary ritual for her and Hawk wasn't allowed upstairs until he was done.

Today the patrol took extra long because Faith's little sister, Monroe kept chasing Hawk and crying when he wouldn't play with her. Hawk liked Monroe, but he could never indulge her because she wasn't his human. If he played fetch with Monroe, who would watch out for Faith? Still, he felt bad for the tiny human, she had no way of understanding why Hawk never played with her and he had no way of letting her know that he would play with her if he could. All he could do was keep walking while Monroe followed after him, her head thrown back as she wailed out his name in a tantrum.

"Hawk! Haaawk! Haaawwk! Honk! Honk! HONK!"

Hawk started awake, his breaths coming out fast before he remembered where he was and laid back down. A dream...He thought as he lay in his kennel quite awkwardly being the large dog that he was. He tried to get back to sleep but there were too many noises interrupting him. The traffic outside was exceptionally loud, loud enough to permeate his dreams even. He was upset, but he said nothing. Ever since he had been led into the cage--and led, he had been. He hadn't put up a fight due to the service training instilled in him. He wasn't a fighting dog, and he'd never bit a human in his life. And he certainly wasn't going to start. Anyway, ever since he'd entered the cage, he had been quiet. A whimper here, a snuffle there, but aside from that--Silent. There was nothing to say. No reason to bark. He was there to waste away, a forgotten dog with only the memories of his beloved human to accompany him. Or so he had thought.

When the other dogs began exiting their cage via unlocking them, he scrambled to his feet. He watched most of the dogs free themselves, cocking his head to the side as he tried to understand their methods and their reasons. Freedom? From this place? Was that even possible? No. It wasn't. The humans were too strong, too cold for the plan to work. But their coldness gave Hawk an idea and he suddenly felt himself fill with a renewed sense of purpose. He could reunite with Faith in his next life. He knew that when humans got angry, sometimes they killed. Hopefully if they did, they would kill him. And then...He wouldn't perish in this place that smelled of sadness and turmoil. He could be with Faith at last.

The leonberger tried to shove his paw through the bars but it was too bulky and he either wasn't flexible enough to hook it into the latch or the other dogs made the act look easier than it was. "Please," He croaked his voice hoarse from not using it for so long. "Unlock mine as well?" He implored the fae that he saw unlock the cage of the chatty brute. "I-I can help with the plan. If any humans come--I can knock them down or if that doesn't work, I can hold them off while you all run." He didn't mention his ulterior motive, hoping that no dog would sabotage him in an effort to preserve his life. "With this many dogs trying to escape, you need all the help you can get." He kept in mind what the husky had said about the humans not returning at all and decided that if that happened, he would maybe live a little longer but he found it hard to believe that there were no humans left in the building at all.

Rose's ears gave the slightest twitch at the sound of another lock clicking, next thing she knew the brute, Trix, was standing by her side. She only hoped that the other dogs knew how to pick locks as well, other wise the guilt would continue to eat away at her till she'd be finding herself unlocking every damn kennel. Eyeing the labrador from the corner of her vision as he spoke, the fae would huff lowly, ignoring the chatty elder dog that was left in his kennel. 'Even if he did know how to unlock the window, I'm not planning on just jumping out.' Without a word, her eyes fell back onto said possible escape route, standing on her hind paws, she pressed her forelegs against the grimy glass, dirtied possibly from years of weather.

Peering out the window, three stories down onto the world below, she was met with a dark and dreary alleyway. The walls of the this building as well as the one beside it, were lined with dumpsters filled with garbage bags. Seated just outside of the window was a stair case made of what looked to be black, metal bars. What were they called again? She remembers the dogs of the streets and their language during her limited time of freedom. "Something-escape..." she muttered, then it came back to her fully, "Fire-escape." it looked like the stairs lead all the way down. No one was lurking the alleyway, it was dark and hidden enough for anything to slip by without being noticed. Perfect. Or at least it would be if she know how to open the window...

Just before she once again attempted to claw at the latch, the sound of another kennel creaking open caught her ears. Still on her hind legs, the fae caste a look over her shoulder to see a black and white furred brute step out of his cage. She's never seen a dog like him before, his ears were pointed, had a thick coat and bushed tail. Like a shepherd, yet she knew no shepherd with that coat pattern. There was something 'off' about him, maybe it was his scent, maybe it was his cold blue eyes... it didn't sit right with her. Rose soon realized that this was the least strangest thing about the dog, he offered assistance only to ramble off about numbers and hours. Thankfully she understood most of what he was saying, but still it was off-putting to hear such nonsense at first.

The strange brute had a point, past his ramblings, they were certainly high up and as she thought before, she was no cat. She couldn't land on her feet from this height and she was sure as hell she didn't have nine extra lives to spare. Aside from that, if what the blue eyed-one was right about Trix having a sort of mental map of the area... then just maybe- More clicking filled the room and the shepherd-like duo were the next ones to exist their captivity. Well, it seemed these dogs either already knew how to unlock kennels, or they were just fast learners. Either way, it looks like she and the other two brutes wouldn't be the only one getting out of here. Lucky for her chatty ex-neighbor, one of the two, the male, had enough kindness to help him escape. Damn near all of the dogs were out now, great a room full of escapees with one goal in mind.

Before the fae could even part her jaws to speak, she spotted the mouthy she-dog, River, as her partner had stated before, had manage to open the door. Rose's expression to that of shock before the dark dots above her eyes furrowed, she pushed herself off the glass, dismissively padding past the other dogs, taking a few steps towards the other fae. "Are you crazy?!" she kept her voice in a low hiss, "What if a human's out there?! You'll blow all our cover!" She had little to no idea how smart these humans exactly were, are they the type to take notice to such small details like a slightly cracked open door? She didn't know, didn't want to know. In her eyes, something so small can turn into a giant risk. Especially now with so many dogs, how in the world can they slip out without drawing attention?

Harlo/// Location: City, "apartment" building/// Interacting with: Arro, River, Tye, Trix, Hawk Harlo/// @Shinku⭐Kun @Fireflies @DracoGale4 @Cosmic Penguin

"Oh come on, don't be like that." Harlo gave the bitey fae a pouty huff as she dismissed his whines for escape. The house-pet's eyes lit up, however, once the fae's partner showed some kindness and unlocked the cage and going as so far as to open its door. "I could've pushed it open myself..." Harlo mumbled beneath his breath before stepping out of his kennel, giving himself a much needed shake and stretch. "But thanks for breaking me out." he flashed a toothy grin towards the shephard-like brute. "So you and uh, River over there, are pretty much in the same boat as all of us then." Harlo's tail drooped some as he was given no answers on their predicament. Still, at least they were all out... well most, that old dog was still locked up, crazy enough to just stay there. 'What, he's gotta death wish or somethin'?' Harlo's attention was pulled away towards another caged brute, a leonberger. "Help? Hell we could probably get all the help we can get bud~" without much of a thought, Harlo padded with a swaying tail over to the larger dog, his paws and claws tapping at the lock, trying to mimic what he witness with his own escape. Finally, it clicked and the house-pet took a few steps back. "There ya go-" he was cut short by a low growl.

Harlo's head perked to see the red fae growling in a hushed tone towards River. "Uh-oh." two dogs with bad attitudes, this wasn't a good sign, need to diffuse the situation. Carefully he crept towards the russet furred she-dog, who's mane was starting to bristle "Hey, hey come on now Miss- uh... Miss..." he was swiftly snapped at. "First off, it's Rose, you whelp. Second,-" This time Harlo interjected, "Okay, Rose. let's not get testy yeah? Besides, my friendo over here made good point." he pointed his nose towards the dried blood "I think the bit of action they were given earlier has them a bit busy. Like he said." he pointed his nose towards the brute before turning his eyes hopefully towards River. "I mean, there aren't any humans out there... right?"

He'd much rather feel his way out through this place that take the leap of faith...

Trix and Zeus // Location: Apartment Building of an unknown City

Trix ears perked up as he heard a brute saying something to him and the red fae. Turning his body to his right, he looked over at a mixed Husky that escaped from his cage and made his way toward him. Blinking with curiosity, Trix listened to everything he said, explaining that escaping through the window wasn't a good idea, just like Zeus said, because he believed they were located in a high floor. Just when Trix was about to sigh with dissapointment, the Husky mentioned that they could plan a escape using his knowledge from the hallway outside this horrible room.

"Ah, yes, I like that idea and I definitely can lead all of us to the door that leads to the stairs!" he said with excitement, wagging his tail happily. It was a fact that his escape plans weren't actually good at all, but teaming up with dogs with the same desire of escaping this madhouse, Trix found a new hope, greater than before.

Zeus observed the trio from his cage above, sitting straight. He chuckled lightly as he knew instantly that the mixed Husky was a war dog by the way he was speaking and his structured suggestions. Honestly, he didn't wanted to escape, but seeing them so determined of not giving up without trying made his heart beat with courage. He sighed and slowly stood up. "Man, you younglings are sure something," he said with a smile, fixing his eyes on the lock of his cage. "The more of us helping, greater are our chances of actually succiding in getting out of here. I don't know if I'll be of much help, though."

With a claw of his right paw, Zeus managed to open the lock of his cage and carefully jumped out, landing dumbly on his paws. He scoffed, mumbling that he still having it even when he's old. As the pissed fae from before escaped her cage too, Zeus took a look at her, noticing she was a Belgian Malinois. The brute that came with her looked like her, so he guessed they were sibblings. "Cute," he mumbled lowly before walking toward Trix and Co.

"I'm glad that you finally decided to get your old Aussie ass from that cage, Zeus," said Trix, his tail wagging faster as his high spirts just grew stronger. Zeus sat beside him and lightly bumped his right side with his, smirking. "Hey, I may be old, but I still got it, okay? Anyways, we better act now while we can. You never know if these humans change their rutines and come back here to check on us. Also, lets not forget about the other dogs still inside the cages. The more, the merrier. These people won't have a chance against a pack of angry dogs which freedom and happiness have been taken."

Suddenly, the sound of the door opening alarmed Zeus and Trix, which whipped their heads to the door, afraid that a human arrived at the scene. They both sighed after finding out that it was River that managed to open the door. However, everything turned tense when the red fae, named Rose aparently, became upset by it and walked toward the other fae that had a bad temper as well, scolding her. "Oh, boy, things are going to get hot in here," said Zeus, watching with amusement at the faes, Harlo jumping in to try to calm everything between them.

Sighing, Trix made his way to the door, walking through the arguing dogs. As he slipped his head through the small opening, the black Labrador took a look outside, examining the surroundings of the empty and dark hallway with dirty white walls. Turning his head to the left, Trix spotted the wall beside the kennel room that had a big window, sealed and dirty. The sky was dark, but stars were everywhere, shinning like small diamonds. An empty wooden chair was in front, empty cans of beer scattered around it on the floor.
"I guess it may be like 2:00 AM, huh?" he thought after not seeing the usual young man that always sat there to guard the kennel room. He was also the one that always catches Trix every time he made a escape attempt.

Turning his head to his right, Trix observed the few doors that were on the sides of the creepy silent hallway that led to other rooms, all closed. At the end of it was an intersection with a hanging lamp which light was pretty weak and about to die: to the left was a door that leads to the main stairs of the building, his desired destination; and to the right was a short hallway that leads to a small Laboratory were humans made experiments with dogs. The poor Trix felt shivers on his spine when he remembered that day when he saw the head of a dog on top of a table, blood dripping to the floor where a pond of blood was forming.

Trix also spotted a trail of dried blood droplets on the floor that lead to a door in the middle of the right side of the hallway. There's where the human that River fae bit probably went.

After taking a deep breath, Trix slipped back his head inside the room and turned around to look at everyone.
"Alright, the coast is clear by this time of the night," he said, feeling some adredaline rushing through his body after realizing he was about to escape with a whole pack of dogs. "The door that leads to the stairs is the one to the left at the end of the hallway. Just move straight in silence, okay?" That last thing he said it while looking at Harlo, knowing how talkative he was. "Whatever you do, don't turn to the right. There's where the Lab is and believe me when I say that there's nothing good in there. If the door is open and you see something disturbing, don't freak out. That could alarm the people in there and blow our escape plan. Just suck it up and go to our destination."

After his explination, Zeus gestured him with a nod that every dog was now out of their kennels, so there were good to go now. "Looks like everyone's ready to move," added Trix and turned around, carefully pushing the door with the top of his head to open it big enough for everyone to leave. Then, he walked outside and stood straight to watch the hallway, ears perked up and all of his senses in alert to any movement or sound. "If there's no questions, lets all leave the room one by one. Remember, our exit is the door to the left at the end of the hallway. Just follow the hanging lamp."

[fieldbox="Tye, blue, dotted, 10, Book Antiqua"]
His attention remained on the red fae, and her annoyance did not go unnoticed, though Tye's expression remained much the same. Before he could even get a clear answer, his ear twitched at the sound of another cage opening, and with a slight turn of his head, he could see the fae who had bitten the human before step out of her metal box. Her brother was soon to follow, and the two were conversing, Tye's eyes watching them both. He did not catch any words from the brute's mouth, but it appeared the fae had agreed to something unspoken, only confirming that the two, were in fact, siblings. Not only this, but more dogs were being released from their cage, such as the younger brute who had been the red fae's neighbor. Tye's blue orbs shifted to more movement, and he could see that the dog who had been Trix's neighbor, Zues, come out of his cage as well. The dog was older, that was certain, but still appeared to hold some capable maneuvers of his own. Soon after another dog was being asked to be let out, and the talkative young brute was the one who fulfilled the prisoned dog's request.

Now there were seven of them out.

Tye's attention was grabbed once again to the tempermental fae, who had apparently been able to open the door, revealing that he had been wrong to assume it had been locked. Her ability to be able to open said door also further his suspicion that she, along with her brother, were familiar with such mechanisms and trained to operate them. However, a new issue had presented itself. The red fae he had been conversing with before was now making her way over to the other fae, and Tye already knew the danger of having two hot-headed canines argue. The talkative one engaged himself as the interference of a storm that may be threatened to brew, doing his best to ease down the tension between the two, which Tye was grateful for. The black lab, Trix, was already taking his mission into objective. Tye watched him poke his head outside the door to peer around. Tye took this moment to make his way up over to the calmer one of the two siblings, the brute, while the older dog Zues began to release other dogs from the cage.

"It appears that a plan has began to unfold itself." He said, his eyes never leaving the two faes at the door as he stood beside the brother sibling. "I did not think we would be freeing all the dogs, but at lease we could use the numbers to our advantage, if we should be caught. However with there being so many, I will linger in the back, though I could use some aide. Whether it'd be you or your sister, if you can get her to calm herself enough to behave rationally. All of our lives and freedom will depend on it."

He stepped towards the door, his eyes looking to the two faes. "If I may interject," he spoke up to grab their attention, "the stairway appears the best way. If there are humans out there, there will not be enough to handle this many dogs. So long we all stay organized, move quietly, it should be alright. I believe it would be best if Trix leads, with a dog who is able to fight to lead with him. One or two. Any of those who cannot fight should stay in the middle. I volunteer myself to linger in the back to help any dogs who linger behind and to protect their flank. Any suggestions or other objections?" He questioned, peering between the two faes.

[/fieldbox]

River

The fae was just dropping her front paws back onto the ground silently when she heard someone quickly approach her from behind. She spun quickly, lips curled, hackles raising up. She let out a low growl in her chest while the older fae chastised her. She licked over her lips once more, still able to catch reminants tastes of copper on her tongue. Her ears were folded back as well, tail carried stiff and up. She knew there were no humans nearby, they were loud creatures, clumsy too with heavy feet. She didn't get a chance to retaliate in any form before the white shepherd mix was stepping forward, trying to diffuse the situation. She huffed, seemed to think for a moment, looking the red fae over while she snaps at the brute. She didn't fit the stereotype for a pet, no, River knew immediately what kind of history the fae had. She'd been on a few cases before, had seen and met ring dogs in the enviroments they were forced upon. Even seen some of the fights.

"I'm probably one of the few that actually know what I'm doing," she growls lowly. She however didn't put up a fight when the black Labrador came around her, going to look through the door, simply stepping out of the way, beginning to relax. She huffed, shaking out her fur coat while she moved even more out of the way while the black Labrador started to let everyone know the best way out. She admitted she couldn't take the lead here, she had been anesthetized while being brought in.

River took a moment to look over the group of dogs sharing the same space as her, she didn't know a single one of them's names except for her brothers. They were all complete strangers and yet somehow they were going to have to help all of each other to get out of here, something that made her skin crawl. She didn't do group work well, she only had ever worked well with her brother and one other dog. She shook the thought away, focusing on assessing each dog once again.

There was the red female, the ring dog and first to open up her cage door, a shepherd mix she assumed. Then there was the white brute that had been caged next to her, talkative, she suspected he wasn't much of a fighter. She assumed the same for the black Labrador and the Leonberger as well. Something about the Leonberger seemed off to her, he didn't speak threat to her though. There was also the senior Aussie, that seemed to be friends with the black brute. Lastly the husky mix, he was currently speaking with her brother, but she didn't bother to listen in on their conversation. She could tell the brute was a soldier though.

"-River wouldn't do anything to put our lives at risk." Her attention was pulled back over to her brother and the brute he was speaking with when her name was brought into the conversation. She narrowed her chocolate brown eyes in their direction, now listening as the white and black male speaks up.

"Arro, you can stay up front with, Trix," she says hesitating a little on the name, to Arro, making her way over to stand near him as well. "I'll stay in the back," she didn't have to say it aloud for it not to be clear she didn't trust anyone, and wasn't going to have her back to them again. So she would stay in the back with the other who volunteered to bring up the rear. This way she could also watch her brothers back, get a sense for how each dog handled themselves. If there was one thing River didn't lack in, it was observation. She just tended to process quickly and act quickly as well.

Arro

He gave a soft chuckle to the brutes complaint at him opening his kennel door for him. "I'm sure you could have, and no problem." He said, stepping back to give him the space he needed to stretch himself out. Arro was more than aware how cramped a kennel could feel. He didn't always spend his time in one, but sometimes his job had called for it. "We were caught yesterday, early morning. I know some of the layout but not much." He knew the way to at least one exit, having intentionally put up just enough of a struggle for him to be able to memorize it.

He watched the everything unfold carefully before it would come together, trying to listen in to each conversation as much as possible. Each dog in the room would have different kinds, and amounts of information. Luckily for him he doesn't have to waste time asking questions. It wasn't long before all the dogs were out of their kennels and he quickly took a head count. He already had a goal in his head, and that was to make sure each one of these dogs got out of here alive. He didn't have to know exactly what this place was to know any dog left behind was as good as dead.

He couldn't help the small wince he gave when the red fae snapped at his sister, he knew it could go one or two ways. He was relieved when River didn't take a bite out of the female, he knew River was smart. He was also aware that sometimes her temper got in the way of that however. He watched the white shepherd male try to mitigate things. He raised a brow at the comment coming from next to him, glancing to the husky mix out of the corner of his eyes before turning his attention back to his sister.

"Seems to be, just have to keep it in order," he said, tone casual but still having a serious note to it. Arro was a fairly calm individual. He gave a short chuckle at his comment about River after telling him he planned to follow behind. "Don't worry River wouldn't do anything to put our lives in danger." He couldn't say anything about herself, but he knew parts of River didn't want anyone who didn't have to get hurt, get hurt. He couldn't help smirking a little when his sister glared their way.

He listens to the husky mix begin to tell the group his idea before River addressed him, letting him know she still didn't trust these dogs. He trusted her to protect them though. He nodded his head. "Seems fair to me, Rivy." Only smirking more when she snapped her teeth at him when she got close. Arro was risking getting a scar by teasing her after all. "Try to stay close though," he didn't like a lot of distance between them. Not now, not when he knew she was still unstable after losing her mate. He was beginning to have a few other suspicions about her as well though.

Arro turned away from her before she could argue, making his way over to Trix. "Lead the way," he says calmly, nodding his head towards the door, now open. They needed to start moving, fast and quiet.

Trix
"Alright, lets go," replied Trix after the brute Malinois, which name he found was Arro after hearing it from her sister, left the room and joined him in the hallway. Trix was with a little hessitation as he actually didn't wanted to go in the front of the group. He actually wanted to be the last of them so he can make sure that every single dog leave the kennel room. However, it was more than ideal for him to lead the way as he was the one that knew about the apartment's surroundings.

"It's okay, Trixie, I'll be at the back with River and make sure that every dog leaves this place," he heard Zeus say from inside the kennel room. Trix scoffed and turned his head to his right to look over as his best pal. Once again, he was surprised by the incredible and kind of scary talent of 'reading' minds that Aussie has. Nothing seems to escape from him and Trix wished he could be that wise when he gets old too.

Not losing more time, the black Lab began to move with caution, heading toward the intersection at the end of the hallway and trying to not make too much noise with his claws while his paws make contact with the floor.

Zeus
Zeus sat silently beside the Husky mix and the Malinois, which name was Arro. He listened to their conversation while observing at everyone, counting heads and secretely taking mental notes of their scents. He didn't know why, but he felt that it would be important in the future.

When he finished, he turned his head to look at Arro's sister, River, coming to their way. He sensed her lack of trust from everyone and Zeus simply chuckled, amused that she asked to stay at the back of the group, anyways. Like a wise man, Zeus kept his eyes River and observed her in silence as he caught an odd vibe around. After a few seconds, his wet nose twitched and his ears perked up as he came with a big realization.
"I wonder if she knows," he thought with a big smile as he moved his eyes to her belly.

After Arro joined Trix outside and told him to lead the way, Zeus shoke off his thoughts and turned his head to look at them, noticing his poor friend was nervous. He sighed and stood up. "It's okay, Trixie, I'll be at the back with River and make sure that every dog leaves this place," he told him to ease him. Then, Trix looked at him with a reassuring smile and began to lead the way with Arro.

Nodding, he gave River one last look with a smile before looking at the rest of the dogs. "Alright, move those legs, everyone. Time to get out of this madhouse. Also, somebody, please, keep an eye on that pup and protect it at all costs if something happens."

It was the German Shepard-looking fae who had responded to him first, and had even moved herself over to him and her brother, though the action did not surprise him. It did not take one of his stature to note the distrust in her tone when she took claim of the position to be in the back with him, likely due to the fact she did not want her back exposed to dogs she did not know, which was understandable, and if he were to be honest it was rather smart. The only reason it did not concern him was the very fact that had any of them wished him harm, they perhaps would have already done so, especially with so many. Though because there were so many, no one had the courage or stupidity to cause such an act of tyranny, therefor he believed he did not need to concern himself with the backstabbing too much. Right now the main goal was to get everyone out of there, though he could admire the fae's cautiousness.

However, there was a problem with her mistrust. The point of having backup was to have trust in the fact that they would have, well, one's back. To count on them should something go amiss and trust that they would help to protect and he would protect in return, to be able to trust and rely on your partner. Such as it was back on the field. He had full faith and trust in his own partner, having no need to doubt or second guess himself, to constantly watch over his shoulder, because he knew his partner had his back. With this fae, who made it very clear that she did not trust any of them, he would have to be careful around her. He could not trust that she would not allow anything to happen to him. He did not blame her, of course. They were all complete strangers. He would not have placed his life in their care right away either, and perhaps even if she did not make her mistrust clear, he most likely would still not put his complete trust in them for his life. However... He would have to just take the fae's brother's, Arro's, word. That River, as he had called her, would not put their lives in danger. The brute seemed to be kind enough, but still, there was nothing that any of them could truly rely on.

But it did not matter now. It was time for action. Arro would take his position at the front with Trix, and Tye could only hope that the red fae would accompany them, since Trix was perhaps not as great a fighter as Arro or the red fae. The reason Tye had himself and River to take the flank was not because of mistrust, but so that they could both help to protect the dogs back here. Except... Now there was a problem. The older dog, Zeus, had invited himself to take up the flank with River. Had he forgotten about him? Perhaps, he was an older dog, though Tye knew the brute's heart was in the right place. Apparently his concern was to make sure all the dogs would get out, which gave Tye an idea, and it showed him how careful and caring the brute was. As the dogs began to line out of the kennel area, he made his way over to the older brute.

"Zeus," he spoke to the dog respectfully, "me and River can handle the flank, though if you would be so kind as to stick to the center to watch out for all the dogs, that would be greatly appreciated. That way me and River can focus on protecting their flank in case we receive any unwanted...guests." By this, of course, he meant the humans. "It will be difficult for us to do that and make sure all the dogs get out safely, so that job will befall you, since it is your top concern. You do not need to linger too far in the back, me and River will take care of that, but if you take charge around the center and basically 'herd' the dogs on onward then that will allow them all to keep in line and keep up so that none linger behind."

It was not that he believed the older dog had no skill in fighting whatsoever or would be in the way, far from it, but the fact that he believed that with his and River's training expertise that they would fair better in a combat situation should one come up. If Zeus lingered behind with them, it could prove difficult only because his fighting expertise may be different, and Tye or River might have to end up protecting him. But Tye had needed someone to take charge of all the dogs themselves, anyway, and Zeus appeared to be the perfect candidate. He was older, wiser, able to keep calm in a tense situation. He would be able to keep the dogs calm and organized and keep them from going into a full on panic and take off in different directions. Tye had it planned in his head the formation they would take, with Trix in the lead with Arro and hopefully the red fae, that way Arro and the red fae could protect the front and give the rest a chance to escape or give them enough heads up to formulate an attack. The same held true to the flank, with Tye and River to protect them and give them a heads up that there was trouble and give them time to either run or alert the dogs at the front to come and aide them, or if there were any other fighters within the crowd to aid them. Zues could remain in the middle to organize the whole formation, to make sure no one drifted from the formation and blow their cover, while also keeping them calm and not act out on their own, so it would all work out perfectly.

The only other problem, however, was River herself. If she really was a lose cannon, then could Tye really trust her in the back to help him in a combat situation? If she took matters on her own and went charging in instead of thinking or assessing the situation, then it could prove fatal. Again, he only had the words of her brother to trust, but he was not sure if he could yet, since he had only just met the two. But the brute had seemed sincere enough. Even if River did assess the situation, she may rule Tye out completely as a valuable asset and fight alone, which would not due at all. But he had no choice in the matter. All they could do was take action.

If Zeus agreed to take charge of the center of the formation and keep the dogs in line and make sure they all get out, then Tye took his place beside River, keeping enough distance between them for them to move and maneuver as much as they could in the space they were given. He did not speak or look her way. They needed to be on full alert at this time, keeping his attention to his surroundings with his ears perked and eyes watchful, his nose constantly scenting the air. The air was filled with many mixed scents of dogs, with the scent of blood and death behind them all, though since he and River lingered in the back it shouldn't be too difficult for them to detect a human should one come too close. They were clumsy after all, and so they should have no problems detecting one before it was too late. If Zeus thought it better to join them, then Tye would just have to make due and at least try to keep the brute between them, though of course he could not force the older dog to do anything and he would not try.

The bridge of Rose's muzzle wrinkled as a deep scowl formed over her features, threatening to break into a complete snarl as the other fae, "River", set herself in a defensive posture. Before she could snarl back, no ignoring the chatty brute, the lab trotted past between them out the open door. Balking at such brazen behavior, the fae parted her jaws to protest but was interrupted by the brute that had come along with the temperamental she-dog. 'Wouldn't put us in any risk?' she give a mental huff, 'Says you.' She wanted to attempt to protest again, but eventually gave up as the blue-eyed brute spoke up. "It appears that a plan has began to unfold itself."

He was right, as much as she didn't like to admit it. She couldn't help but agree with older merle coated dog, this was all too risky with so many of them, but it was too late now and she be damned if she was giving up and going back in that cage. No point in arguing, what would even be the point, especially if what this lab says is true. Giving the black and white brute a hard stare, giving his own plan some thought, she didn't object. She had no way of knowing where the hell to turn, so she and the others would have to rely on the lab as their guide, which would be a first for the fae as she wasn't use to relying on others. Not that she really had a choice in the matter it seems. The back was taken care of it seemed, blue-eyes, a large brute who spoke softly, and the calm brute, Arro, volunteered to linger behind the group. She certainly knew how to fight, the months of training and years of brawling weren't going to be wasted if they were to run into trouble.

Taking in a deep breath, Rose squared her shoulders, "I'll be taking my place at the front as well, if we do come across anything, we'll need as many teeth and claws as possible." She was silently thankful that the temperamental fae wasn't going to walk beside her at the front, but having her linger in the back, out of Rose's line of sight, it gave her a certain unease. Hell, being around so many dogs, so close didn't make her feel any more comfortable. Anytime she's this close to any other canine, without a sort of wall or barrier between them, it typically meant that they were going to fight. But the laws of The Ring didn't apply here thankfully.

Harlo/// Location: City, "apartment" building/// Interacting with: Arro, River, Tye, Trix, Hawk Harlo/// @Shinku⭐Kun @Fireflies @DracoGale4 @Cosmic Penguin

Seeing as everything sorted itself out, Harlo would give his tail a wag, "Well you can count me in the middle then. I'll keep gramps here company." The brute had no complaints as he followed the lead of the other dogs. He wasn't going to lie or show off, he was no fighting dog, hell he'd run sooner that bare his teeth. The sooner he got out of this place, the sooner he can head back home. Or at least try to find his way back home. He only hoped that his family wasn't too worried, he recalls his boy nearly crying when Harlo was still a pup and managed to escape the yard. Thankfully he was found and was given the longest hug he was ever given by his boy. Just thinking of it now made his gut twist with guilt, 'Poor little guy, he must be bawling his eyes out by now…' his ear would give a slight twitch at image of sobbing child looking for his lost dog as he padded within the center of the group.

After a while, Harlo lifted his head some to caste a look past his shoulder. "Huh, you'd think this place would have more of those guys walkin' around." He'd then flash a grin towards the leonberger in the back, "Guess they ain't the brightest humans, yeah?"

"They were smart enough to catch you." The red fae gave a low grunt, making the brute's ears droop some. "No fair, they used a dart on me. And what about you huh?"

"I was sold." The reply was short and abrupt, "Oh… What kind of jerk humans sell a dog to a dump like this? I mean… none of you guys were sold here too… right?" His stomach then began to twist again, he wasn't sold right? No, no. he was captured… Yeah, his humans wouldn't do that… His attention then fell on the lab, "Hey, uh, Trix was it? How much long-"

"Hey!" Harlo nearly jumped out of his coat, his eyes growing wide as he whirled around behind them to see a human, who looked rather pissed and red in the face. "How the fuck did you all get out?!"

"Time to go!" Harlo, with only escape on his mind scrambled away from the group, "No dammit! We need to stick together!" he heard Rose snarl after him, snapping at his tail as he sprinted by her, Arro and Trix, but fear had over taken him. He was going to be caught again! Thrown back into that cage! Or worse… he'll never see his family again. He needed to get out, he needed to-

The brute would give a sharp yelp as he made a sharp turn only to collide into another human. The man release slew of curses kicking the frantic dog off of him, but his rage filled voice turned to pure panic. Harlo stumbled back onto his paws, his vision temporally blurred from the collision and the rough kick he received, but he was quick to come to his senses from the sight that presented itself before him. The man he had crashed into was lit a flame, fire danced and wrapped itself around his flailing body as he ran down the hallway screaming in agony. Harlo stood petrified by the sight only to snap out of his trance to see a pushed over cart and glass bottles shattered across the floor. A liquid that had apparently spilled free was emitting vibrant flames that seem to grow by the second.

"Uhh, uh g-guys!" The brute stuttered a whine stumbling back, the flames now roaring up the walls, devouring the hallway and creeping ever so closer towards the mutt's own paws. "Guys!" Harlo yelped running back to the group of dogs, the fire now blowing into a fiery monstrosity around the corner.

Rose

The fae cursed as the cowardly brute broke into a dash, what a sorry excuse for a dog! Quickly Rose turned heel, surging past the other dogs to charge at the human, her mane bristling and jaws snapping. With a single leap, she flung herself onto the man who fell down with a cry, her jaws mere inches away from his face before wrapping themselves around his throat. She's attacked humans before, but never killed. 'There always a time for a first.' she couldn't let this man run free, he'd just go and alert the others. This was only way to shut him up.

Just before she could clench her fangs around his wind pipe, a yelp and crash made the fae jump. Her head snapping around only to see the house-pet come bounding back his face full of fear as giant fiery flames began wrapping themselves around the corners of a hallway. "What in the hell…" the red fae whispered, too shocked to be bothered with the man who scrambled away from beneath her and began running and wailing in the opposite direction. Rose gave a resounding bark "We need to get out of here, damn!"

It happened so fast! One minute he was at the back of the group, gaze shifting left and right, hoping for his chance. Then his ears had flicked forward to overhear the chatty brute and the red fae discussing their origins and how they'd ended up in this place. It had prompted him to think about his past and when the brute inquired on if they were sold, he found himself mumbling his answer. "I was sold after losing a fight." He didn't say anything about Faith--he didn't want to. Faith was his girl. He felt like if he talked about her, he'd taint the memory. But then the groups journey to freedom had been interrupted by a human, Hawk's heart began racing and he whirled around to stare at the angry human. He took a step forward--But then a streak of red hurtled past him and took the monster down.

I missed my chance! My only chance! Hawk thought in agony as the felled human dashed down the hall screaming in terror. If it weren't for that red fae, he could have--No, it wasn't her fault. She was responding by instinct. He couldn't help but be upset that he couldn't reunite with Faith. But always true to his word, Hawk did his best to help the others. Now that there were no humans to charge at in hopes of being killed, and a fire that he was too afraid of charging into, Hawk knew that he had to do his best to help the group. He remembered his training about what to do if Faith ever encountered a fire. Most people in a fire suffocated before they were burned so it was best to try and keep calm and not waste their breath--Which is what the brute who had let him out, was not doing.

"Calm down! Please!" He urged the brute. "It's going to get harder to breath quickly and you need to save your breath. Panicking will get us nowhere." He cautioned the brute and the rest of the dogs. This was the loudest he'd been since...Since he'd yelped in terror in the fighting ring. When that giant brute had snapped at him and he had cowered and forfeited the match. The memory made him shudder but he quickly got his head back in the game. "We have to do what humans do in a fire! Crawl on our bellies to get below the smoke. If we get caught in it, we'll die! And metal door parts! We won't be able to touch those without burning ourselves!" Hawk hoped to hell the building had some push doors, or someone was going to get a seared maw.

Shadow and Lilith

As the others had been talking and growling at one another Shadow just curled around the fureball Lilith who had been stuck in his cage in hopes the Brute would kill her. On the other hand he did not he took her in to care for the puppy. The thing wad annoying a bit when it was awake, but asleep the pup was cute and sweet. She was very friendly and playful, just annoyed him a bit like a little sister would. He took care of het and bit any human that tried to come near her. However when the thought of escape was thrown around shadow pawed at his kennel already figuring out the lock earlier, but he figured he and Lilith have a better chance in a bigger group. He pawed at the lock and used his point sharp muzzle to help pull at it. When the lock came off. His jaws went around the pups scruff and picked her up as his leathe body jumped to the floor to follow the others. Lilith seemed confused and whimpered in her older brothers grip. "What is going on shadow"She yipped and dryed to struggle in his grip. He set her down a moment as the others tryed to find a way out."were getting out of here little one." He said.

"Hold still." Shadow said and bent to pick her up as they run out into the hall. They run into humans and one of the Brute gets skittish and knocks something out that sets a fire. He lowered his body to the ground. Along with his head." Hide your muzzle into my fur now." He growled at her. His ears back. Lilith quickly did as he said shaking slightly. His scent was nice, he was her protector. The fae maybe fiesty ,but she was also still a pup so she got scared easily. Shadow was licking his nose as he looked around for a way out of this. There was a Brute up front trying to calm another. He finally growled loudly." We have to move we inhale any more smoke and we will be dead." He snapped. Bending his head to pick up Lilith he crawled up to the front of the pack and looked down the halls. He been trained by dogs from the outside world on how to deal fired this included old washed up police and fire dogs.

He crawled with Lilth in his mouth. She was whimpering and struggling his grasp, he knew fear had grasped the pup. He set her down and looked at the others, he did not really trust any to watch Lilith but they needed to find a way out. Now alarms started to ring and it was noisy. He picked Lilith up one last time and moved so He could drop her by the Brute who had been trying to calm the other male down." Watch her I will find us a way out, if anything happens to her I coming after you." Shadow said. He nudged Lilith."Be good stay with him." He said nodding to Hawk." I will be back.

Lilth starred after her brother as he ran down the hall away from her. She started to whimper and whine as she shook into the other male she been placed next to. Her puppy eyes went to his face and she lay on her stomach. She didn't know if her brother was coming back. She was scared and didn't want to be with out him. After what seemed like agonizing ages her adoptive brother returned and barked at the others."This way I found the fastest way out of here." He looked at all of the faes and Brutes" follow or not but if you want out, this is the fast and easiest way." Shadow growled aloud. He looked at Rose."They will follow you, it is up to you. If you want to find a harder way out or just get out." He braked and leaned down to grab Lilith. He made his way down the hall towards the emergency door that been propped open.

Trix and Zeus
Zeus perked up his ears as he heard the word 'herd' from Tye as he explained that it will be better if he stays in the middle of the group to keep them calm and make sure they don't break the formation. The Aussie took a minute to think about it, also remembering the old times when he used to herd a small flock of sheeps. As expected from his breed, Zeus was an expert in that task and while he was in charge of that flock, none of the sheep got lost, stolen, or killed by a wild animal.

However, his shepherd days ended a long time ago, so he may be a little rusty. Still, Zeus believes that he may still got it because, like he always says, an Australian Shepherd will always be a shepherd even after death. Also, he told Trix that he will stick at the flank of the group just to ease him so he could focus in the most important thing: lead everyone out of this place ASAP. And, honestly, he actually wanted to be in the middle of the group.

"Well, that's fine with," Zeus finally said, looking at Tye with a smile. "Wonderful, actually. You see, even when I can defend myself, I prefer to avoid fighting. I just hate to hurt living beings even if they're evil. Besides, if herding is involved, I'm the one ideal to execute that task. Not trying to brag, though." Zeus chuckled as a pride sensation filled his chest. As the dogs took their positions and were ready to exit the kennel room, the Aussie stood behind the middle group with a serious and concentrate expression, slowly scanning everyone in front of him to make sure they weren't breaking the line.

When it comes to herding, Zeus turns into a really different dog. This is a task and maybe the only one where he doesn't joke around. He will give his all to make everything perfect and guide everyone to a destination, yelling at those brave enough to dare to leave their position. Yes, it's better not to mess with Zeus if he's on 'Full Shepherd Mode'.

"Yes, some of us got sold for a reason or another," told Zeus after hearing the conversation between Rose and Harlo. With a kind of annoyed expression, he whipped his head toward the talkative dog and glare at him seriously. "Now, hush your snout and go to your position in front of me. I don't like a 'sheep' that breaks the line and don't follow commands." As he was about to bark at him in a scolding manner, his body froze as an unexpected human came out from one of the rooms of the hallway. The man was pissed and surprised after finding all of the dogs outside.

Trix was in the front of the group with Arro and Rose, so he quickly came to a stop and stared at the man, cursing under his breath and his heart beating fast. "A-Ah, right! I think this is the part where I'm supposed to take drastic matters and attack!" Even when he thought that, Trix was too scared to actually do something. It was like if the fear stuck his paws on the floor, making him unable to move or react.

Suddenly, he heard Harlo barking in a panic. Finally being able to turn his head to look behind him, he saw how Harlo dashed beside them, Rose unable to snap his tail to stop him. He also heard how Zeus cursed out loud and commanded Harlo to get his ass back to his position, but it was too late. Finally deciding to stop being a scared dog, Trix frowned with a little courage and turned around to face Harlo, but he was forced to quickly back off as an explosion of flames and gas errupted in front of him. He whimppered with shock and hide behind Arro.

"You dimwit, look what you've done!" barked Zeus, this time pissed as Harlo returned to tbe group as the fiery flames blocked their only hope of escaping. "Oh, I never get mad, but you finally managed to get on my nerves with your annoyance. How the hell we're going to get out of here now, huh?"

As Zeus scolded and barked at Harlo, Trix slowly made his way toward the flames blocking their path and stood at a safe distance, totally devastated after his only hopes of escaping were once again ruined. He whined and looked down at the floor, thinking about how worried his family could be right now.
"They must be looking for me so badly and the children must be crying for me to return. I... I must get... I must get out of here NOW!" Not willing to give up yet, Trix's heart filled with a new determination.

Sighing deeply and taking a deep breath as well, he lifted his head and look at the flames with a serious expression. After a few seconds, he began to take a few steps back, his eyes still on the flames.
"Trix, what the hell you think you're going to do?" asked Zeus as he finished yelling at Harlo and looked at him. Trix was like an open book for him. "Don't you dare to jump through. You're smart, so you know that's a reckless move and very dangerous. Just be a good boy and stay-" The old Aussie went silent as he saw Trix sprintting toward the flames before taking a big jump above. By a miracle, the black Lab managed to land on the other side of the wall of flames, rolling over his body. Breathing heavily and eyes wide open, he stood up and shook his body before looking around. "I... I freaking did it!" he mumbled with a nervous chuckled.

"Trix, are you okay!?" asked Zeus, this time standing in front of the flames at a safe distance. "Please, say something!" Trix turned around to face the hallway and spotted the door that leads to the main stairs opened. "Don't worry, I'm fine, Zeus," he replied with a smile. "And guess what? The door of our freedom exit is opened. So, if I find a way to kill this fire, we can take return to our escape plan." Zeus sighed, glad that Trix was okay, but he knew that not everyone would be able to do such a big jump. Not now that the flames were growing. "Trix, that won't be possible for some of us. Besides, Shadow found a safer route, which I guess you couldn't hear after been stuck in your thoughts." Trix began to realize he didn't quite thought everything throughtfully and now, he got into a serious problem. He turned his head to look at the flames and then to look back at the open door.

"I guess this is a good bye then? We're going in different directions if I go through this door," said Trix with a sad tone. Zeus nodded, sad as well and slowly backing away from the growing flames. "It doesn't need to be like that. We can reunite outside the building," replied the Aussie, but Trix shook his head. "I'm going to return to my family once I get out of here. I know you have told me that can't be possible, but I'm nor giving up. They must be waiting for me." Zeus sighed. "Look, Trixie, you won't be able to catch their scent. You're too far from home and the city has other scent that will confuse you. It has been 6 months as well, so I, honestly, don't think they waiting for you." Trix frowned kind of upset, looking down at the floor. "W-What are you trying to say, Zeus? It's like you're saying that they..."

"Gave up on you," interrupted Zeus. He didn't liked to hurt Trix, but it was a truth he would find sooner or later. Trix shook his head and turned around. "That's not true!" he shouted as he ran away, leaving everyone and everything behind.

Knowing that Trix was gone, Zeus turned around and walked toward Shadow, passing him by. "Lead us out of here, please," he said with a calm expression, but it was clear that he was trying too hard to hide the fact that he was sad. He didn't even told him good by properly.

Things finally appeared to be in order as all the dogs found the positions they were best at, and soon they were all making their way through the door in an orderly fashion instead of the constant barking and yelping as every dog tried to get away on their own, and he could only thank the others for being level headed and knowing what to do. Had every dog here been scared and worried about their own skin, then he doubted they could ever come up with such a plan to escape alive, and only be running around aimlessly. To escape required the teamwork of everyone else here, not just working on their own, otherwise they may never find a way to escape. Once everyone had taken their positions, they focused on what they were supposed to do, especially the older dog he had asked to take the middle. He was aware of his 'sheep herder' breed, though he did not believe he would have taken his role so seriously or applied it to the dogs. He was rather impressed, to say the least, and liked that the older brute took his job so seriously. It helped to keep the other dogs in line and from breaking away.

Everything was going so smoothly, that is, until they were caught.

Tye whirled around right away when the human showed himself, and he had crouched low and ready, his ears perked forward as the fur around his neck bristled. His eyes watched for any hint of danger, aware of some sort of commotion going on at the front, but he had to trust that the team up front could handle it. Apparently not, however, for in the next instant he caught sight o a red blur and he blinked. Seeing the red fae take down the human and even appeared to be ready to kill him. He and River were supposed to have the back! What was the point of separating the fighters otherwise? Now the front was left with no proper 'leader', so to say, then what-

His attention was caught immediately by the smell of smoke, his head whirling around to see flames licking the air from around the corner, the flames dancing across his blue irises. This was bad. The dogs were beginning to go into a panic, about to take off, yet another dog had began speaking up. Claiming that they all had to crawl on their bellies and save their breath, and to avoid touching any metal. With him and with Zeus herding the dogs back together, they were both able to keep the dogs calm and listen, to keep them from going into a panic. Tye followed their example, dropping onto his belly since their earlier threat had already ran away, though the black lab that had been leading them earlier had abandoned the team. Having jumped over the flames, a feat Tye was sure most of them couldn't do, then declared that he was going to go look for his own family. He and the older dog, Zeus, were having some kind of argument. Did they really have to do this now? At the same time, another brute had managed to find another way to escape. Tye couldn't worry about the black lab right now. They all had to get out of there.

At least now they didn't need to worry about any humans. At this point there wasn't much use in making sure that there was some orderly fashion. Tye had taken his place right beside the door to the emergency exit, making sure that everyone else could get out, while keeping low and trying to save his breath. Only once every other dog had passed through did he follow before looking around to make sure that they had gotten everybody, then followed the others, hoping that no other mishaps will happen before they got out.

Everything was a blur all he could hear was the barking of the red fae as well as the other brutes, the fire danced around the corner of his eyes, engulfing the walls around them. Rose was barking something at him, but he didn't understand what, his eyes wide and heart racing in a panic. It wasn't till he was given a shove, possibly by Rose, possibly by one of the other dogs, he didn't know, but one thing he did know was that someone barked to get on the ground and crawl and after a good shove to snap him out of his panic was did as told.

He and Rose crawled onto their stomached barely avoiding the smoke and flames following the husky to what looked to be an exit door. Rose pushed herself against the jarred door some, "Come on!" she barked trying to open the door wide for the others with her body. Harlo squeezed by, his mind still in a mess of what had occurred, he was barely paying attention to the flight of stairs as he ran down them taking a few stumbles towards the end. Harlo pushed himself through the door to the outside again stumbling till he bumped himself into an old grimy wall.
The brute would lift his head to see the pitch black sky of night, the blaring horn of cars sounding louder than usual. Oh yeah, he was outside.....

He was outside!

He was free!

This time, Harlo truly snapped out of his trance, no more did the burning screaming man nor the flames whirled in his mind and the building guilt in his gut dissipated. He was out of that damned building and was... "Uhh..." Brute, still pressed leaning against the wall full took in his surroundings, the exist he took lead to an alleyway, a dark drear one at that. It was far away from the passing people and honking cars on the streets and it stunk like Alba knows-what. It wasn't till the site of a scurrying rat got the brute jumping to his feet, muzzle cringing in disgust. "I'm out of there..." he's out of there, what say of the others? There was that feeling again, guilt, and it only increased when he looked upwards to see the windows of the building he had just escaped from being engulfed by flames. The humans were beginning to notice as well as he heard screams of 'Fire!' and 'Call 911!' not far off. The other dogs... they're still in there. He had to go back, he had to help them!

But...

The fire... he could burn alive and by the way that man screamed... Moon Goddess, that scream... being touched by those flames, didn't sound like it was very pleasant. Again, the brute stood in fear, wallowing in his guilt and praying the dogs were somehow safe.

Rose wasn't quite sure what pissed her off more, the fact that the yapping brute caused the fire or that he was so much of a coward he actually left them all behind. All of them. Well damn, she's holding the door open for them now, so what's the point turning tail? And who's to say this will be the day she died? She's survived The Ring the streets, she can survive this damn fire. "I said come on!" she barked, everything was happening so fast, it was hard to keep calm, much less cool considering the situation. She say the cowardly brute high tail it down the stairs, she's hadn't heard a yelp form him, so he must've escaped. She only hoped the blue-eyed dog was right in saying this was a way out.
