Once upon a time…

There was a king of Ur, in Sumer, who was shunned by his people, by his own family.

He fled deep into the deserts, and stumbled upon an oasis, with water flowing from an endless stream.

It was a miracle, his life was saved. He drank deeply from the water, and felt a renewed spirit.

He ate from the trees that gave fruit, and for a time, he was happy.

But, as it often happens, the contentment did not last.

Vengeance welled in his heart.

And loneliness.
One made way for the other. And so he returned to Ur, to his city, himself a new man.

He married, and had children, and become a powerful merchant in his time.

He was given a new life, a renewed sense of duty and purpose, the gods' greatest gift.

But it did not last.

As years came and went, his wife grew older, his children matured…

But he remained the same.

White did not touch his hair.

Nor ravines his face.

But still he bled and cried, as any other.

He was a man, this could not be denied, but also so much more.

The man took his family into the desert, and they too drank the waters of the oasis.

And time no longer touched them.

Sickness did not afflict them.

Strength and vigor swelled within them.

The man came to see the magic in these waters.

He saw the wealth in these waters.

He saw the power.

And so The Circle of Aurora was born.

It grew in numbers, but remained in shadows.

It left the world of the light, and lived on in secret.

Because it hid in the dark, the man did not get the reputation he so wanted.

But he had all the power he could ever want.

But in the outside world, another force was gaining momentum.

These were known by many names, but the one that remains is Jai-San, Blessed Ones.

These men and women wielded powers beyond what even the water provided.

And so, the man sought these people to join him.

And many people did, wishing for the immortality the water provided.

But many also refused.

Those who went with the circle faded into history quickly.

Those who did not became nobles, kings, and influential beings.

They were powerful and public, the most glorious beings on earth.

Or rather, they were, once upon a time.

Chapter One:

Capsized vacation

[FONT=&amp]Aron, Ethan and Rebecca are finally taking a much needed vacation to Southern Florida from their home-state of North Carolina. Of course, sailing is at the top of their wish list, but a few pirates have other things in mind after the group witnesses the robbery in a museum.[/FONT]

Ashara 4572: The lady of the sun, grand ruler of the Circle. Vindictive, manipulative, brilliant, but also cares for those she has registered as friends. This does not mean she will not use them, simply that she will not enjoy it, and feel guilty about it. Intelligent and has a wondrous "stage presence".

Chicahua, 489: Captain of the Serpent's Tail, a rough and merciless Aztec pirate, recruited by the Circle five hundred years ago. He is tasked with finding the second half of Orion's amulet, a magical tool that makes any object indestructible unless attacked with a weapon also blessed by the amulet. (Taken)

Aron, 18: A street as well as book-smart, but also shy and dislikes taking risk. He is strong and capable of fighting, but dislikes it intensely. His parents were killed in a car crash, while traveling on vacation with Ethan and his family. Childhood friend of Ethan, they are currently living together as opposed to entering foster care of the like.

Ethan,17: A go with the flow type of person, who has been extremely lucky in his lifetime. His parents were killed in the same car crash as Aron's, and Ethan somehow managed to survive, despite fragments missing his vital organs by only millimeters.

Rebecca,17: A childhood friend of Ethan and Aron. She is brilliantly intelligent, punctual, neat, orderly, and worries constantly over Aron and Ethan. Both of her parents still live, and help their daughter's friends as much as possible.

Time period of birth: Precolonial Mexico.
Culture: Aztec
Bio: A warrior of vast renown in the former Aztec Empire, he, like many others, was sent into a life of slavery and misery after Cortez and his Conquistadors took over Mexico. His decision to join the Circle of Aurora and obtain eternal youth and power was not a difficult one to make. He and his entire family, as well as multiple loyal followers, fled and joined the Circle Base in Florida, built to protect the Fountain of Life that resided there. He was quickly appointed an admiral, and proceeded to raid the seas for most of his new life, easily dodging the officials for centuries with his unique abilities. His current assignment stems from his hatred of the world that stole from his ancestors and his descendants, and the trust he built by loyally serving Ashara. He is ruthless and firm in command, and always takes prisoners; The Sun God needs sacrifices after all.
Appearance: He is dark skinned, and has coal black eyes and hair, traits normal for the natives of Mexico. He wears an ornamental headdress, covered in feathers of all colors, and the base forged of gold. He dons a jaguar pelt around his waist, going down to his knees, that being the only clothing he wears.
Weapon:[/FONT] The traditional Aztec sword-Club, a wooden base with razor sharp chucks of obsidian embedded on the sides.
Powers: Can raise mists and create storms, but only while he is on the sea.

Bio:Issac has always grown up near the water and the sea. He knows how to navigate and sail ever since he was a child. And so when he grew up he became a sailor. Things didn't go too well because he was too harsh on his crew so he left to join a band of pirates. He didn't like the dishonorable nature of the pirates, but he did find out he liked the pay of the plundering and booty, so he took to become a mercenary. Loyal and courageous, yet honorable and respects others secrets. He quickly took a liking to it and became a career mercenary. He's only starting out so he does not have men or firepower of a real die hard mercenary
