Upon a night of much needed rest, disaster was only a few feet away- Sol shrieked as Mani was attacked by a pack of hungry wolves- he fought bravely to fend them off but he was overwhelmed by the trickery of savage beasts, Sol managed to hide their kin before preparing herself for her ultimate sacrifice- she grabbed a hunting knife and headed out. Tragically, Sol and Mani didn't come back- Sköll and Hati were found by the high sense of smell by the hungry wolves- but luck was at their side, Sköll and Hati treated the wolves like puppies and began hugging them, the leader of the pack took this as a sign and bit their collars and took the young infants under their care. Several years later, a monk who lives in the Temple of Nature found a group of wolves encircling a young boys, with the thought of danger, the monk hurried to fend off the wolves but the young boy stopped him from hurting the four legged canines and revealed himself as Sköll. With the knowledge, the monk offered them a place to stay but Sköll demanded that the wolves come with him, with the help of Hati- who possessed much more politeness managed to persuade the monk to allow the wolves to follow them. =======================================================================================
Fun Fact: In Norse Mythology, Sol and Mani were created by Odin and are ordered to travel the world as sun and moon. But Sol and Mani found the world interesting and refused to travel, making severe droughts and never ending darkness to areas. Odin summoned Loki to create a plot to make Sol and Mani run away, he traveled to the land of giants and found twin wolves named Sköll and Hati- he offered them meat and they demanded more, he pointed at Sol and Mani who were still admiring the world, Loki granted them ability to fly and Sol and Mani saw the danger and drove their chariots to escape the twin wolves, this is the reason why the sun and moon travel across our skies.

Pretty Ironic that Sol and Mani named their twins as Sköll and Hati, named them after the wolves that would actually devour them and start Ragnarok.
