Standard Crucible chargen applies. We'll be using an area near the eastern border of Kelen, but your character can conceivably have traveled there. Strong personal motivations are very important.
Please make your character as an ordinary human before we go about applying the Witch template.
(I will likely add more patrons as I remember them).

Patrons

The Wildmother

Litrys; the goddess of the green and of the storm. Luck, growing things, and the weather fall under her purview.

The Moon-Queen

Mother of Monsters, Keeper of Secrets, Queen of Cats. She is the goddess of the night, patron of lovers, cats, spies, and things that go bump in the night.

The Huntsman

Wolf-Skin Slayer, Lord of the Hunt, Antler-Crowned King. God of the hunter and the hunted, the great wolf and great stag, father of werewolves.

The Silken Prince

Eight-Eyed Seer, god of mysteries, spiders, assassination, and conspiracy.

The Snow-Cloaked King

The Lord of Winter, a melancholy god of silence, snowfall, and the cold.

The Fire-Eyed Jester

The Lord of Autumn, god of trickery, riddles, the harvest, and celebration.

The Scourge of Summer
The Lady of Summer, goddess of war, judgement, fire, light.

The Greenmother
The Lady of Spring, goddess of rebirth, growth, fertility, and lust.

She Who So Loved The World

The Final Comfort, the Maiden of the Bone-Orchard; Death herself.

The Walker Between Worlds

God of crossroads and transitions, of the first breath and the last gasp, who despises the undead.

The Man Who Isn't There
The Lord of Fear isn't cruel, per se, but he is callous. You will learn from your fear, or it will destroy you. Commonly associated with vile and crawling things.

The Hungering God
The Sea is a harsh mistress. She can be placated, but in the end she does as she will. She is capable of mercy or terrible fury, but above all things she is patient. The world will drown, one day.

The Celestial Tyrant
Lord of the Sun, rarely chosen by Witches. Judge and executioner, giving and taking life and light.

The Everworm
The Spiral Serpent of Fate, the Great Wheel upon which the world turns. She has a mask for every ally and hides her grand design well.

Fera Eckhart – Kelenite, Witch, Patron Gentry of Love

  • History
    Childhood was nothing special.
Her little town stood on the fringe of Kelen, the H'Kaeri looming on the horizon.
Quiet. Unassuming. God Fearing. Boring as Sin.
Learn to weave, learn to patch a wound and learn to use the loom. Learn to make a good fire, learn how to cook and clean. And when the harvest in the summer was ripe, spend every waking moment in the day to bring the grain in, and every night huddled together for warmth under the feeble thatch roof.
Fera got called "Homely" a lot. Gangly, clumsy and well, not pretty, handsome was a better word. But a young Soldier from H'Kaer saw something behind that crooked smile and awkward gait, and they built a house together, and were going to be a family. But the world is cruel, and in life you are owed nothing, and now, bereft of her Mother, her Siblings, her Husband, Child and now her Father is all but gone, only in body he remains. These days she spends her time between her own empty abode, taking care of her ailing father and trying not to starve or freeze to death.

A typical, if dull example of a Kelenite. Hair and eyes like white ash, stripped of colour from the labour outside, fair skin but heavily speckled with freckles and often daubed with mud. Layers of linen and leather, all various shades of grey, fawn and beige.

    Personality
Fera was always a good little peasant girl at first. Accepting the authority of the Fiefdom's Lord, loyal to the Church, devoted and affectionate to her Husband. Then fate and all it's terrible ways saw fit to strip her of all of these things. Despite her will to persevere, her humbleness has lapsed into a crippling lack of self confidence, insecurity and loneliness. The depression, brought on by years of isolation has reduced her to a tired, unfocused, scattered brained young woman, yearning to be useful and happy and loved again.

  • Yet another daughter of a long suffering Lord Reichmond, Hannus is the third child of the Lesser House, beholden to House Delat. Like the other two, she was a thoroughly pleasant child and raised fairly traditionally in Kelenite fashion. Her Father was not the first born of the House Reichmond and thusly even further removed from power as he was the third male in the Family. His estate being a small holding outside the City of Ymon

What set Hannus apart was the surprising natural good looks she possessed. Neither of her parents were known for their grand appearance nor her siblings but fates has granted Hannus enough fortune to become noticed by the more virile members of the Fiedoms court. This turn of fortune allowed Lord Reichmond to marry his daughter off at significant advantage to his estate. Essentially to the highest bidder.

That man was the now disgraced Lord Selk. A minor Lord, recently earning his holdings after a fairly distinguished military career and retiring to breed horses. On the surface a fair idea but this dream along with his own personal habits built the estate on tremendous debt.

Debt which his new wife, trained in estate management, quickly discovered. The row soon shook the walls of the estate and the Selk took out his frustration and wrath the only way he knew how. A gifted swordsman, he took his aim and left a blow deemed to his mind non fatal. A surgeon was soon called and the Lady Selk was not seen for many weeks while she recovered. It was during this time that Selk decided to really take the reigns and earn his estate some real money.

A month later Lord Selk was arrested for trafficking Freedman back to their Masters and had named the innocent Hannus a co conspirator. Fleeing to the wilderness with with her handmaidens, Lady Hannus became trapped on the Gatewood trail. Rather than accept capture and punishment for something in which she had no part in she fled to the woods. She wasn't followed at first. The trail quickly left behind as the trio of women stumbled through brush and bramble on into the night.

Then it happened. The laughter and faces, her Laman handmaiden plucked away in webs woven from gossamer then her last travel companion slipping behind a tree to vanish from sight and replaced with a mocking symphony of ghastly music. Hannus kept running, now almost longing for the feel of an earthly rope around her neck. Darkness swarmed behind her before reaching a clearing of suddenly blinding light. The braying shadows vanished in the burning clearing and Hannus was lifted off her feet.

The consummation of her marriage to the Celestial Tyrant was a blur of scalding pain and euphoric light in the face of supreme power and when it was over, more time had passed than she thought possible. Lord Selk was mysteriously found in his cell having died in agony, as if crushed in a grip of intense flame. Her name was burned from family scrolls and people just seemed to avert their eyes as she passed. She'd been burned away from her past life and now walked as a Tribune of the Sun.

  • Out near the Frontier is perhaps a slightly safer place than it was a few years ago. Margot's parents mutter about the Winter War sometimes, but she's never paid attention. It's not important! She has things to learn now, especially if she wishes to take over for her mother someday, and that she certainly does. Marguerite's cures require constant work, gathering herbs, roots, flowers, and bark from the forest and the meadows surrounding, but the reward is greater freedom than most of the village women know.
Margot's going to avoid the loutish village boys, she's going to work hard, stay up nights and get up early mornings. She's never told her mother, but she knows how to write her name, and she knows all the letters. She learned from one of the mercenary guards last winter.
Margot's going to be better than her mother. She's going to be better than just one of these ignorant villagers. If she can just avoid being eaten right here, right now, on this moonlit night, with the howling behind her and the blood rushing in her ears.

Margot is going to be sixteen years old at the end of the summer. She's slightly darker than most Kelene folk, slightly stockier, and keeps her hair in a single long braid. Best not look under her tunic.

Augusta (formerly of [Delat vassal house])

  • The fourth child of [family], but the first son. Doted on by father. Started learning how to take over as [lordly rank (baron??)]. Always preferred feminine pursuits, bollocked by father when caught. As entered puberty ~year ago realised was assigned wrong gender. Came out to family (2,3 months ago?), disowned, stole sword, horse etc. Approached by The Silken Prince when preying to any gods in the depths of night for solace and vengeance.

Name;
Fayola
Gender; F
Age; 22
Birthplace; Mistcloak, Maerlyn fife
Patron; The Everworm, The Spiral Serpent of Fate, the Great Wheel
Concept; Megalomaniacal fate weaver

Background
I was awoken by mother squeezing my arm gently.
"Your grandmother wants to see you. She hasn't much time left; go to her."
I could smell the incense before we arrived at the cottage, hear the muted praying from inside, growing louder as each woman arrived to bear witness. The crowd parted before me, staring, and growing silent as I made my way to the bed where Grandmother sat, beckoning me forward. Her outstretched arm, reaching through the pile of blankets, touched by swollen belly and the child inside me kicked.
"You are doing so well, my little snake. Such strength."
The dim light cast sharp shadows onto her face, making her a stranger for a moment as she began unwrapping her blindfold.
"I want to get one...good....last look at you..."
She struggled to support herself on an elbow, and drew close, black eyes staring wide into mine.
"Listen to your mother after I am gone."
Her grip on my belly tightened almost imperceptibly.
"All that matters now is the little snake. With the lightning in her veins we shall mend our broken spirits...we shall return."
She sank back onto the pillows, energy spent.
"Yes....return. The wheel...is turning."
Her final breath hung in the air for a long moment, until the keen started; first with my mother. The sound made me lightheaded, and I felt a wetness spreading from between my legs. I staggered when waves of pain spread through my belly; the keen waning as mother and my sisters wrapped their arms around me, keeping me upright."
"It's time."
Fayola is the product of an illicit teenage affair between Lord Montefort and a Laman peasant girl from Mistcloak. As he was the first son of his family, and due to be married within the year, his parents went to considerable lengths to avoid any kind of scandal. Consequently Fayola lived a relatively comfortable lifestyle, always knowing who she was, but never intending on doing anything about it; that was never the plan. She was raised like a Priest in training, with her mother following Grandmother's instructions. She was taught about the South, the broken nature of the North, and most importantly that she had a part to play in the mending. The Monteforts indeed had lightning in their veins. Grandmother had seen a powerful sorcerer far in the past; the source of the family name, and a way to empower the Serpent.
It's unlikely Fayola will ever comprehend what she gave away at her initiation ceremony; the concept of magi are alien to Laman culture, but it did serve to make her a part of The Wheel. Her village consider her to be a Priest; the first Spinner since her great-grandmother died. They say great-grandmother died as she was born.

Vice; Hubris. She hasn't lived long enough to have failed badly and learned from it.
Pride; Her Laman heritage, though Mistcloak has taught her to keep this hidden.
Fear; To somehow fail in her duties. This would have larger implications; perhaps shake her faith in her patron.
Hope; To fix the North's broken spiritual landscape.
Regret; That she never got to meet her great-grandmother
