(This is just a tidbit of writing that will introduce my twin characters, Thoren and Ardo. Most of the stuff written here will be solely from my brain to the page without any prior planning of a plot, setting, etc. I'm just writing the first things that come to mind. Also, perhaps to boost your imagination, here's a picture of my characters, drawn by @Sarre. Thoren's on the right, Ardo's on the left.)
Thoren paced the entryway of the Broemer farmhouse in anticipation while Ardo sat at the table, skimming through a seemingly important tome he had found in his mother's book collection. Something had gone horribly wrong in their search for their parent's killers. Someone, quite possibly an acquaintance they met in their journeys, had tipped them off and sent them in the farm's direction.
"Our parents' murderers were not bandits as you continuously assume, brother! I've read through every one of these books along with mother's journals and there's one thing that appears in almost all of them." Ardo said skimming once more before looking up at Thoren.
"Well, genius? If it wasn't bandits, then who else could it possibly be?" he said, walking over to the table where Ardo was sitting.
"It seems to be a group of people of high power called The Shadow People. A rather large group, might I add." He explained as he ran his fingers along the torn edges of the dusty, aged book.
"But what would they want with Mother and Father? Our parents must have done something insane to make such a powerful cult thirsty for their blood..." Thoren thought out loud, skeptically.
"They're not a cult, Thoren, they're more of a political mass of people who consider themselves of high blood. They believe their ancestors wanted them to be at the top and are therefore determined to keep it that way. It is possible that they saw our parents, or even our very bloodline, to be a threat." Ardo said, tapping one of his fingers on the book. "You'd be on the same page here if you had even bothered to read the page to begin with, Thoren. Honestly, you need to get your head out of the ground."
Thoren glared at Ardo for a minute before deciding to ignore his comment. "So you're saying that these 'Shadow People' killed our parents because they thought they would steal their power?" He wondered.
"Precisely." Ardo said. "I would assume that they thought our parents were the last in our bloodline, and therefore didn't kill us too. Someone told them that we were their children and so they've made plans to hunt us down. Of course, now that we're onto them, they'll have a much harder time getting rid of us."
"Well, we'll just have to stop that from happening now, won't we?" Thoren said smiling smugly.
