How do i place two tabs beside one another? usually the tabs come in two but when i try to combine them they always stack on top of each other.

Could you link to the thread you're trying to make tabs in?

Right now it either sounds like your window is too small and your tab titles too big to fit besides each other, or that you're writing the wrong code.

Just to make sure you are doing the code right, it should look like this:

(tabs)
(tab=title) text (/tab)
(tab=title) text (/tab)
(tab=title) text (/tab)
(/tabs)

Make () into []

If you're doing that, then there shouldn't be a problem, except if you're having a smaller screened devise.
