Rise of the Runelords: Chapter 1

Also, Kolto is probably gonna want to sit down with Hemlock and get him caught up with what's transpired, if you fancy making a mini session out of that.

Sounds good. I'll assume the following mini-sessions are in the works:

KOLTO - Chitchat with Sheriff Hemlock (and probably the Mayor)
TAHLZAIR & DHORYL - Getting the bounty money for the Blackbird
VOREN - Waking up from his wounds with a cheery new friend in his head.
SERENUS - Possible mini-session in which she deals with all the shit she's seen and all the shit she's taken.
RODEH - Getting his name cleared of Squigo's murder. May be able to join your plot with Kolto's.
AN-NUR - Sneaky An-Nur stuff that she hasn't told you about.

BTW, I've summarized the story so far in the first post of this thread. But if you need a tl;dr version, here it is:

- Tsuto planned the goblin raids and blackmailed his (wife-murdering) father into helping him.

- Tsuto didn't get the fuck out when he should have, since he was too busy kidnapping his sister, pouring molten glass on his father, and composing a creepy lullaby in the smuggler tunnels.

- Tsuto's fucking around, along with the Bounty Hunter Brothers using gypsy counterspells, had the added effect of destroying the Sczarni. Their mysterious "Blackbird" oracle was unable to warn them of the attack on the Glassworks. Now most of them are dead.

- The Szcarni have been using the Glassworks to smuggle in contraband. 10 years ago, the smugglers broke through into an ancient prison. Ever since then, the quasit Erylium has been manipulating them under the guise of the Blackbird.

- The Catacombs were designed for torturing local witches, in order to locate seven arcane Witch Rings. The quasit Erylium sided with Tsuto, just as she had sided with the Sczarni, and used the mayhem and violence to fuel her Rune Well, from which she was summoning sinspawn.

- The threat from below has been contained. But the threat from Tsuto remains. His base of operations is the goblin fortress of Thistletop, and it is believed that he is taking orders from a mysterious being named Malfeshnikor.

- An-Nur and the Bounty Hunter Brothers, however, know who Tsuto is really taking orders from...

*Pencils in 'discuss communication issues with An-Nur' onto Kolto's to-do list*

Also, how much is that Longsword worth? Cos I think we decided we were selling that.

She's shared everything she knows up til now, save one miniscule detail. But she's making right by it. All will be well in the end...maybe.

Feels! An-Nur's one weakness.

*walks into the thread groggy and sleepy deprived*

Okay...

The diary won't be hoarded per se, but Serenus will share the information with An-Nur if she is able to speak /read those languages. If not, then she will keep the diary to herself and perhaps find someone in town to read it.

The ring and Obsidian unholy symbol will be taken to Quink to examine, although reluctantly. I've a feeling you're making this part into a mini session as well. XD

I want to take the waters, but I'm not sure how I will use it. If any of the stealthy and stabby types want to use it and perhaps coat their blades with it like a poison...? It's a GM call since it specifically says that the waters have to be ingested for the consequences to take effect.

I can just stab them in the mouth, Zen. All is well.

Stabbing is good.

Rolling for HP

Gonna grab Iron Will as my feat this level. Should help me out with some saves.

I think the waters can be splashed on people too. So buy some flasks and fill 'em up.

*hits Grumpy with the SRD* 1008gp for the sword.

We'll do the Quink stuff as a mini-session.

@Zen An-Nur has linguistics, but doesn't know Abyssal....maybe you'll luck out and Zantus knows Abyssal?

I will take another point to linguistics and say An-Nur is tapping back into the Thassilonian she learned from being raised in the temple, since it's important to her now.

My points are just going into Survival and Profession: Soldier. Since I've been doing a bunch of soldier-esque shit... and surviving by the skin of my teeth.

And by my numbers, if we sell all the loot (including that Ranseur) that people don't want it comes to 211GP and 11SP each.

Which seems like a solid share. Errybody put in plenty of work, after all.

I can get behind more gold. =D

And sure Tegan, that sounds good.

@Asmodeus @Tegan Alright so I had a little chat with Kino. Our plans to hightail it to the church with the book to ourselves (Sere and An-Nur) are unfortunately dashed. What Kino has a problem with is the reasoning for the whole running away from Voren to translate the book in secret. Sere doesn't know that An-Nur speaks Thassilonian (until just now) but it's public knowledge that Voren knows how to speak Thassilonian because that's what he's studying in Sandpoint. It just doesn't make sense for the women to run away when the magus knows more about the language than the bard and witch. I also agree with this point.

From a player/DM standpoint though I'd rather have a three man session anyways cause it's getting difficult keeping the OOC info and player info separate.

Maybe you'll stop him from driving off party members and getting into random fights. I approve.

Alright, so Wednesday at 8:30 PM EST time?

Yus.

@Grumpy & @Cerulean - do you wanna both go meet the mayor and sheriff? It seems you have similar interests there? And if so - what day can you play?
