oh god. Listing all my inn characters would take forever. @_@

Hahaha! Well, most of us only have a handful!

very true. I'm a freak.

Who plays who could be useful, and for those characters with images could be linked in the list rather then us linking it in the chat?

People would not know to check this chat and it's simply easier to include the picture in a post using code.

If people want to post who they play, that's great. But some like to remain anon.

For anyone looking to start roleplaying in the Inn, we have had a real lack of male characters recently! ^^

I don't mean to push anyone towards playing a role they don't want to -- do what you're comfortable with, but if you're on the fence about it, we do need more guys!

FINALLY! For once, it isn't Esthalia and six guys trying to pound her into oblivion. xD

To be fair, the lack of males actually got (and, at the time of this post, is still getting) one of my characters into a bit of trouble in the Inn >__>

Not enough males for the female characters to flock to = misunderstandings and romance drama!

Not that this is necessarily a bad thing.

I wish I could play all that I have as a roster of males... but you know xD

@Esthalia

Should we consider setting a standard "location" for the Inn to imitate the weather of?

Kind of like how we say that server time in the chat itself is whatever time of day it is in the actual game. Should we designate a location (it'd make sense to use a location in Central Time since the server is also Central) where the Inn "emulates" the weather?

Like, for example, let's say hypothetically we were to say the Inn mimics the weather of Chicago. If it's snowing in Chicago, it's snowing around the Inn. If it's hot in Chicago, it's hot at the Inn. Not to say that the Inn is physically located in Chicago, but just to give some kind of standard so that everyone knows roughly the weather when they enter the game?

I guess another option is for you (or me, or someone) to be able to regularly edit the redbox message before the Inn to mention what the weather is currently like there, but I dunno how easily that can be accomplished.

No, as much as I think that's a good idea, I know people will not look at it before posting, and to edit the redbox each day (multiple times a day, cause let's be real, the weather is never consistant) is too much work. The weather is not that big a deal, considering how people play the majority of the time inside the inn anyway.

I have always said that the Inn follows the appropriate season of the month, but left the specific daily weather up to those playing together at that time (considering how people play sporatically through the day). Sometimes people create weather as part of their introduction. To say it's raining when it wasn't previously doesn't hinder the other players in any way, and allows someone to use some creativity when they're looking to jump in.

I think you may be thinking a little too hard about the specifics. The inn is a strange, magical place where the events and opportunities are endless. I feel if we have to much regulation on specifics (not just weather), we take away some freedom to create.

to be more specific, I want to use an example: If a mage character wants to show up and say that upon their arrival the sky blackens and hail starts falling from above, I want people to read their post and go off that, not just see that the weather post says 80 degrees and sunny.

The less detail we give them, the more they have to rely on eachother and play off eachother.

Fair explanation <3

I wasn't thinking about anything specifically, just an idea. I think I felt like it was kind of weird when some people would write entrances with a certain weather outside (like omg it's cold!) and then someone else might come in like it's springtime rainbows and butterflies xD
