The Saviors

Avira dashed forwards, both bags now open. She didn't pour all of it in, but she poured a good amount and spit before quickly darting off, hoping they'd be a safe distance. She closed the bags quickly.

The minerals fused together as the saliva hit them, glowing and starting to bubble before finally exploding with a loud BANG. Avira shook her head, her ears ringing and she started back towards Dusk.

Karma readies himself as Avira readies the explosion. Leo recovers and moves back towards Karma, but Necropolis stops what he's doing as he sees Avira, losing all concentration and not noticing as his ice armor crumbles and disappears. The air around his grows significantly warmer and he turns his back on the battle, trying to regain his focus.
Have a nice trip, bud.
Karma is blasted forward by the force of the explosion, but he's stopped by slamming his shoulder into Leo, launching him backwards to slide to a halt next to Necropolis.
The smoke clears and there are a few moments of silence as if the world is waiting in anticipation, before there is an earsplitting crack that resonates through the air, and a large crack spans all across the face of the side with explosives, and even across two of the other sides. Hot metal squirts out of the hole the explosion made in a thick stream, and after a moment, more hot metal begins to seep out of the crack in the stone, though much more slowly. Leo is most likely unconscious, as he is limp when Necropolis picks him up and cradles one of his limp arms over his shoulder, which has returned to it's usual coldness.
That's not good... Time to go! Minions, fall back, we will regroup at the Crossroads!
Karma doesn't bother giving chase, instead running back the way him and Avira had come from, running faster as the now weakened stone continued to crack from pressure before completely falling apart, spilling a small pond's worth of steel and iron alloy across the hard and rocky mountain top.

Avira jumped onto Dusk, pulling on the reigns. "Let's go Karma!" She said as she kept Dusk in place for now. She wanted to be sure he would be okay. She kept an eye on the other two, keeping her eyes open.

Karma runs back as quickly as possible, leaping into his saddle and nodding to Avira before spurring his reins, deciding to follow Avira.

Necropolis and Leo walk through an endless sparkling expanse, looking and waiting for their master, the anomaly. In order to access The Crossroads, one would have to have one of three things; Void magic, a volatile and self-harming magic coming straight from The Crossroads; A dimension hopping artifact, which can appear in many different forms, though there is no shortage of them; or the blessing of a deity such as Necropolis and Leo's master. As for The Crossroads themselves, they are a strange mashup of things from all different manner of dimensions and realities, as well as access to the multiverse. The anomaly was trapped here since the beginning times, looking out into the different dimensions, timelines, etc. Here the anomaly doesn't need to transport using lightning, it simply appears where it pleases. Also, there is no storm or lightning covering it, revealing that the anomaly is a female of average height with black hair and eyes that are filled with yellow and white lightning. She looks between Necropolis and Leo, who would give anything to be anywhere but here.
Alright, you're here... what happened?
Necropolis is the one to speak, as Leo is the more injured of the two, hiding him from her wrath like an older brother would.
It's... hard to explain, in a few words... We were... attacked... by the two you warned us about... The must've known what was going on... They targeted Crusher before he was finished, shortly after you left in fact... Our hard work was for naught... Crusher is now covering the top of one of the mountains...
Leo and Necropolis prepare for the worst, but the anomaly shrugged it off this time.
That is truly a shame... Well, worry not friends, destroying Delain's armory had some unexpected results. We don't even have to build an army at this point.
Necropolis and Leo look confused, causing the woman to roll her eyes and motion them over to a mirror. She moves it around before focusing on the king of Delain.

Meanwhile, in Delain
The king looks out of the window of his tower, feeling much older than he'd like. The general for his army was there, a stern look on his face.
"Sir, we must launch a counter-strike immediately! It is the only way to make the kingdom of Livrai stand down. They are the only kingdom left, so it must have been them who destroyed Siun and Dreaki. The people are baying for blood, and unless we give it to them, riots will start and chaos will ensue."
The king's heart is heavy as he turns to his general.
Do you know of any reason that Livrai would attack their allies in Dreaki?
The general shrugs, hardly having an idea himself.
"Why do starving animals eat their young? That is all these Livrai scum are, animals. We must put them in their place or kill them like dogs."
The king thinks for a long time, lapsing into a silence far longer than any he's had, making the general nervous.
"My liege?"
How much armor and weapons were destroyed in the fire?
"On average? Most of it... We have enough to build a small army, but we could salvage and have an army good enough to defeat Livrai... It would take a few days before we could launch an attack, but it's better than losing."
The king nods, sorrow in his eyes.
Then we shall wait.

Avira quickly led the way past the molten metal and further down the rocky outcropping. "That.. that was really neat. What you did." She said once they were out of immediate danger. She glanced over at him. "Are you ok?"

Karma looks over to Avira as she speaks, nodding to her.
I'm fine...
There are a few moments of silence before Karma speaks again.
Look... I don't say this kind of thing often, so don't take it too seriously, but... You didn't do too bad yourself... for a woman, that is... and to be honest, it couldn't have happened without you and your... egg-splosives... It's not like this makes us friends or anything though!
Karma turns away, huffing, but underneath his helmet is a soft smile.

Avira nodded her thanks and continued to lead Dusk. She couldn't stop the faintest smile from crossing her face for a second. She looked around, still vigilant, cautious for the slightest of dangers. This included the dark clouds on the horizon...
"It'll be storming in a few hours. Likely just before nightfall." She said calmly, looking off into the distant rocks for signs of shelter or movement.

Karma looks back, seeing the storm as well.
Do you know anywhere nearby? If not, I know a guy... he could be a lot of help... if he doesn't decide to kill us first.
Karma pauses and thinks before continuing.
This man is... not of this world... he is my kingdom's greatest secret, and our chivalry and honor are the only thing that have kept him secret thus far... If we fail our quest and the other kingdoms fall, however, than secrets won't really matter now will they?

The nameless deity turns away from the mirror, looking at Necropolis and Leo.
A question, if I may... Could we use this mirror to look upon the two who attacked us and stopped Crusher's birth?
The deity shakes her head before explaining.
We could undoubtedly see them, all it would take is a movement of the seeing mirror... But why use something when you already know what the answer is going to be? With the way this timeline is unfolding, they are left with only two options to hide from the might of the storm, unless they want to burrow underground... One, the girl's idea, with which I would retaliate by sending you two as usual... The other is the soldier's idea... If they go there, we all must go, and stamp them all out before they convince the man to join them... he is just a mortal man, but I alone cannot defeat him.
She ponders for a moment before walking over to the mirror and turning it, listening in on Karma and Avira's conversation.

Avira pet Dusk softly, noticing how he got antsy.
"I've never been this far out with the expectations of resting. Your idea seems to be better off, if, as you said, they will help." She slowed Dusk to move beside Karma. "Do you wish to take the lead?"

Karma nods and spurs Vengeance towards the southern edge of the mountain, who repeatedly bucks her head in annoyance at the lack of attention lately.

They come across an almost swamp in the southern portion of the mountains, with the storm quickly rolling in, sending huge gusts of wind through the now wailing peaks and creaking wood. A way back, halfway submerged in the water of the swamp, is a lone wooden hut with an indistinguishable figure standing out front.
That is the Guardian, and obviously, he's guarding the place... He's done his job well for almost thirty years, just like his father and his grandfather have. It may take some convincing, but he'll let us through... unless Captain of the King's guard is no longer a worthy title.
Karma approaches, but stops and looks back at Avira with a playful smirk.
Would you like to carry you across?

Avira paused a moment as Karma spoke about this guardian. She pet Dusk softly as he panted.
When he spoke about carrying her, she rolled her eyes softly, but smiled just faintly.
"I believe I'll be okay on my own." She said calmly before glancing around. Dusk was getting uneasy with the approaching storm, pawing the ground and shifting on his feet.

Karma chuckles before wading through the swamp water, pulling Vengeance with him. They a approached the Guardian, who looks like a classic example of a knight in shining armor.
Leave this place stranger, there is nothing for you here.
Well what about shelter from the storm?
This home belongs to another, you must go.
Come now Guardian, let me in.
Leave now, or I shall use deadly force.
Is that any way to talk to the Captian of-
The King's Guard, I know. What is here, I have sworn to protect with my life. You must leave.

Karma is about to speak again, but another voice speaks out from inside the house.
Let them in for God's sake!
The Guardian looks between Karma and Avira before grudgingly letting them pass.
Inside the house is very simple and primitive, and there's not much to tell apart from the smell of the damp wood.
I'll be right there, I have to make sure that I'm presentable!

Avira pet Dusk softly, whispering softly that it'll be okay. He calmed some and followed her through the water as she followed Karma, having no trouble keeping up. As they reached the guardian, she stopped again and pet Dusk. She trusted Karma, not saying anything and staying next to him. As the guardian let them past, she pulled Dusk gently, following Karma again. She didn't yet speak a word.

Karma waits while the stranger dresses himself, but turns to Avira.
Alright, so this man is from another dimension, mind you, so try not to stare at his... Arm.
Before Karma can elaborate, the man emerges. He looks normal, for a man with grey hair despite being only 27. His pale skin is accented well by his rippling muscles and tight six pack abs. His eyes are a caramel color, and they look full of mischief and cunning. He has no shirt, but he does have a pair of pants that cling to his thighs and calves well. The only thing that breaks his rather perfect physique is his left arm, which is made of metal, and has various closed hatches and ball joints, with various complex mechanics at work inside to allow flawless movements. Not only that, but his left leg is mechanical as well, though it's hidden from sight.
Glad to meet you Karma, I've heard good things.
He shakes Karma's hand firmly before turning to Avira with a sly grin. He gently grabs her hand and bows with his metal arm behind his back.
A pleasure to meet you too, mademoiselle.
He kisses Avira's hand softly before releasing it, backing up and bowing.
My name is Brad Marcovich of the house Marcovich, and I will be your host for the remainder of your stay.
Brad stands straight now, and he looks between the two of them in return.

Avira's gave a slight nod as Karma spoke. Her eyes flickered over as the man opened the door. She did glance at his arm, but then returned her eyes to his. She was surprised as he took her hand, but she nodded slightly in response, not saying much. She was following Karma, letting him speak.

Karma rolls his eyes at Brad's attempt at flattery.
Thank you, Brad, for your hospitality. We'll be out of your hair once the storm has passed.
Brad laughs at that for a bit before wiping away a fake tear.
Come now captain, surely you know as well as I do that there are plenty of other places that you could have gone. Let's skip the pleasantries and get down to business, shall we?
To emphasize his point, his metal hand rotates on it's axis, fitting perfectly into a gap made by the foot long blade that reveals itself.
Remember Karma, I am not a patient man.
Outside, the first flash of lightning comes to life, followed by a long roll of thunder, which also begins a heavy downpour that seems to soak everything in a matter of seconds.

On one of the mountains overlooking the swamp, Necropolis, Leo, and the strange deity watch as Karma and Avira speak to Brad.
This is it... Remember friends, our primary focus is the two heroes. Avoid the other man if possible. He has many augmentations that monopolize him in storms like this, more so than I do in my current state.
Leo looks utterly confused by the deity's words.
Yeah, could you say that in English for me?
She said... He's stronger than her right now, so we should avoid him, if possible.

Avira looked up as she heard the thunder and lightning. As the rain poured, she dropped her head as not to let rain fall into her eyes. Hergaxe flickered up the blade before returning to the man's eyes. Behind her, Dusk pawed, shifting a little and looking around.

Karma eyed Brad's blade calmly, but he put a hand on his own blade in return.
We don't want any trouble, Brad...
Brad raises an eyebrow at that.
Of course not, but if you don't tell me why you're really here, trouble is what you're going to get... Which is quite a shame, really, since we are in the company of your rather fine looking female companion...
Brad gives a small wink towards Avira. He apparently has no respect, but he also has an air about him that says he doesn't have to give any.
Alright Brad, keep your pants on! Look, I thought we would be safe from the storm in here, that much holds true. The other reason is that we were attacked on our first night by a group of people who are out to destroy the four kingdoms... They've already destroyed two...
Brad looks between Karma and Avira before nodding and retracting his blade, replacing it with his hand again.
You could've just said that you wanted some protection! Go on, relax, make yourselves at home. Keep your things close though, this isn't a normal storm...

Necropolis, Leo, go forth, I'll meet you there.
With that said, the deity shoots off into the sky again. Leo looks over to Necropolis with an annoyed look.
Does she have to leave EVERYTHING to us?!
Necropolis simply shrugs before forming an ice path that he slides down, while Leo follows by while shooting flames out of his feet to keep himself from falling too fast.

Avira tensed as Karma reached for his own blade, but relaxed as Karma did. She made no response to Brad's comment or wink, but she did look behind them. Something didn't feel right... she looked to Karma. "It doesn't feel right." She said quietly. She shifted her bow, moving it to one shoulder so it was easier to get to.

Almost as if on que from Avira's comment, three bolts of lightning strike the small hut in rapid succession, blowing off the roof and allowing rain to fall into the house. The Guardian runs inside with his massive two handed sword, looking to Brad.
Are you hurt, my liege?
I'm fine, Martin... Escort these two to the secret exit, I'm afraid our meeting has been cut short.
Brad turns and grins at Karma.
Tell your uncle I said hello forwil, will you?
Karma looks away before speaking again.
My uncle died two years ago... My cousin is the king now...
Brad looks like he would like to know more, but he stops as another flash of lightning cracks the sky.
You and your cousin have my regards, now go!
(Should I make the fight scene our does it matter?)
((#100 Post! \o.o/ ))
