The Evrensel Conflict
----------------------------------------------------------

The Multiverse is going to war with itself!

The laws of physics have been bended to allow the boundaries of various universes to open to one another through artificially created wormholes. It's a time of astonishment, but also of fear, pandemonium, and chaos. No one knows how this has happened, but in its wake, conflicts have begun to arises with invading forces that had found methods to traverse these wormholes safely, new diseases are crossing the borders between worlds, monsters now infest once lively city metropolises, and heroes meant to protect their homes have been scattered to other worlds.

Least of all, with such an impossible feat comes a cost, as the quantum structure of each universe is now clashing against each other, creating a domino effect of unknowable energy components that could create unthinkable levels of cosmic destruction.

And with all these worlds distracted by ever increasing conflicts, there is no telling of the anarchy to come. But, what could have caused all of this?

That is for you to find out. The fate of galaxies are depending on those brave enough to journey through these new, unknown realms to find the answers. Empires of fantastical worlds, civilizations that span solar systems, even realms filled with creatures made up only of angular blocks are out there, in desperate need of saving.

Or conquering, should your allegiances align with those looking to use this chaos to their advantage. Whatever the choice made be, the future of so many worlds are up in the air. Will they be saved? Or will they fall into the darkness that once separated them all?

Welcome,

To the Evrensel Conflict!

  • Kick Names, Check Ass...... Wait....

There is the obvious main story, but also side stories of worlds fighting each other, discovering strange new realities, doing quests to help with civilians in need, and any crazy and wacky stuff we can cram in there so we don't take ourselves too seriously.

The point of the RP is to tell stories in such a setting, not just action set pieces. If you wanna run your own little RP in the setting, we're very open to it! Obviously some discussions would need to happen, but we are very happy to try out whatever seems interesting to do. The RP, while indeed a crossover of various fandoms, isn't fandom based, nor do we consider it one, as we enjoy telling a good story, and having fun character development and interactions
  • There are some fandoms we consider to not fit with the tone of the story, but we're very flexible with what fandoms are allowed.

We make sure to keep power levels in balance, with starter RP'ers having to play street level characters for destruction and capabilities. Should you want to play a more powerful character, say like Goku from DBZ, you would need to agree to a debuffing of his abilities until we believe you can be trusted to use the character responsibly. With worlds going to war with each other, it's always power based. No world will overpower the other, if one world has more technological advantages, so you will never see a fantasy world that has medieval weaponry fight against a Star Destroyer from Star Wars. The main group will be diverse, but the worlds that are in battle, they're on equal levels.

  • No.

We allow Original Worlds and original works. If you have your own little world, you may use it. If you wish to use it for a thread idea for this RP, you would have to submit it in our 'Original Worlds' thread, but if you just want to use a character from it, you don't need to submit anything there.

Obviously, we don't take everything, what we want are universes, or worlds, or kingdoms with enough thought put in it to show you truly care about your creation.

  • No.

You can play whoever you want, be it OCs from pre-existing worlds, ones from their own created worlds or Canonical Characters to play around with. As well, you don't just need to play heroes, villains from any series you like or your own personal creations are more than welcome to be used. It ain't just the heroes we wanna focus on here.

  • At Evrensel, we certainly believe in being versatile with who you play here, what settings we visit, and of course, challenging ourselves with new ideas to add to the stew that is the madness of the multiverse. So, you may play morally grey/anti-hero characters that may work against the hero team, or can even play AS a villain if you wish.

However, being a villain would be more of a commitment than being a player.
-It would require a decent record and ability to be reliable in critical posts, and would prohibit that player from being a heroic character in that thread.
-A respect for other players and willingness to have arguments mediated.
-Understanding that their character might die due to the course of events in a thread. So don't get too attached.
-Private unannouced discussion with the DM about villian-faction capabilities and plans. Can be revealed in character during certain context, but otherwise don't go spoilering things in the mainline chats.

They would operate as PvP, rather than PvE like before, and would be their own unique antagonists for threads that won't focus on the main AI plot of the story. Along with having the chance to win over the heroes in the threads you play them in. In total, if we can tust you to be fair in playing a villain, we're all for it.

  • Yes

We don't use our Discord for major RP threads, we keep to Iwaku for major, multi-person RPs. Instead, we do small, casual RPs in the 'open-world' server that is separate from our main OOC server here. There's various open worlds you can set up your own casual RPs in, either with canon/original worlds, or on the HUB station that you can read more about below.

  • 1. Respect, Respect, Respect. Respect your fellow RPers and their characters.

    2. Do not role play with a character, or make edits to a characters skills/abilities until he/she/they have been accepted.

    3. The RP has a power balance at street level capabilities and destruction. Do not make/claim OP characters far above the norm unless we feel we can trust you with that power.

    4. Keep an open mind about all newcomers! Keep all pre-judging to the absolute minimum. Judge them on their actions.

    5. There is a limit of five 'heroic' characters, and two 'villainous' characters per player. Seven in total, whether canon or OC, and if you want another slot if you max out, you may discuss it with the mods for us to decide on. If you're making a character that's like the Dragonborn from Skyrim, or Shepard from Mass Effect, any personal customized versions of those characters go into OC creation. The vanilla versions go into canon claim.

    6. Posts wherein certain words/letters are extended to an unnecessary and obnoxious length are a no-go. Just don't be a dick like that, it adds nothing and only annoys. Basically, don't "REEEE" or "hiiiiii" for a ridiculous amount of time.

    7. No one line posts. Aim for three lines or above. This is because it make the RP less stale, and people also enjoy longer posts much more than simple one or two liners. We aren't all expert writers, but if you're joining a forum, you gotta be better than one or two line(s) of dialogue or action. HOWEVER: We are absolutely willing to help teach you to get better if you are willing to honestly try. Most everyone is pretty good about this.

    8. Use proper grammar and spelling, even if it takes you longer to post. You'd be surprised how this rule needs to be said.

    9. Stay in character when RPing. Canon characters are up to a degree of interpretation, but don't go completely off base.

    10. Nothing sexual or overly violent in the major threads. While we are sometimes violent, we are not a redstar RP, so we don't go into graphic detail about how a character looks, or what actions they take.

    11. If someone's been gone for over a month without an excuse, their claimed characters will be up for grabs, and if they're gone for more than a few days without notice, any RP they're involved with will move on without them.

    12. Keep all non-RP stuff in parentheses (like this), or better yet, go to the Chat. Such spam like that is annoying to people RP'ing on the same topic, and a mod will likely delete it later.

    13. Do not have off-topic conversations in things like the Cannon Claim, OC Creation, ect. It will be deleted upon detection. This is more for our Discord server.

    14. Combat in this RP, against another Player, works like this: Each attack must be properly described, and movements 'shown'. Your character does not get an auto-hit, it must be an attempt. Like; "aiming an axe kick for his head," instead of "striking his head with an axe kick." Any status effects, like poison or special effects on a weapon, must be stated to make sure the other Players know about them. If you're foe is an NPC, then you can feel free to auto-hit all day long. Think of it like a Dynasty Warriors or Hyrule Warriors combat style. Major characters, gotta be fair, minor ones, give 'em the business.

    15. We have a minimum of one post per week/every two weeks, so the RPs don't slow down to a crawl. This does depend on the GM of each thread, however, so this rule is not for all threads, but do keep in mind we try to keep things at a good pace for posts.

    16. You must at least speak with someone in the chat before you can decide to leave. We're a very welcoming group, and always looking for new friends.... so don't just accept the rules and then poof- actually talk with someone first!!!

    17. Do not just drop your character into an RP without saying anything. If you want to join a thread, best to ask the person running it where to join instead of just doing it unannounced.

    'Pathfinder'
Formerly Station: #207-1-1130-17, it was under the control of an AI system that processed kidnapped individuals of various worlds, either to be sent out to other worlds for various reasons, or kept for dissection/cryo-stasis. An attack team eventually took the station and freed all captured kidnapped 'Scattered,' the nickname for those taken from their home realities. Now, it is a new home and HUB for this ragtag alliance.

There are dozens of bedrooms that can be customized to the individual's liking, a bar, an arena, a game room, even a garden for spiritual and plant life. It's here that heroes can organize into various teams and groups to explore new universes. Those taken by the AI can end up here, as the team rescues them from whatever planet they've been located on, or grab them as they are traveling between realities.

This location, along with others you can run your own singles or casual RP in, can be done in our Open Worlds RP Discord

  • The Evrensel Codex

The Codex is our little guide and wiki for all things Evrensel. It's not much, but it has a summary of the chapters we've done so far, along with information about the villains you'll be facing in the story, with more details about the lore to be added

And that's it! We hope to see you over on the Evrensel Official Discord Server!

And I hope you found this informative and do wish to join. Thank you for your time!

Is there a precedent for characters that come from our IRL world (or rather a facsimile thereof)? I've had a character in my back pocket that may be able to have her origins in something like this.

Are you talking historical figures or something more akin to 'modern day guy gets teleported to fantasy world'?

Edit: The world I was looking for to describe the latter half was 'isekai'

No. An OC who comes from a facsimile of our real world.

Hmmm... It depends really.

We're quite flexible and open to a variety of characters, so AU Earths are not out of the possibility. But, if you're talking about a character here and now coming into the RP, it will depend on what you want to do with them, and how 'meta' you want them to be with these characters

After a lengthy GM discussion, we've decided to end our current threads both Hangover and Rome early.

Rome will get a final post with the team going back to Pathfinder to regroup for their mission to find the Doctor/captured Scattered by the Borgia, while Bruce and Amber will write up some posts to give the heroes there an escape.

We will return to both locations in the near future. Rome will continue after its wrap up with a new thread, while we shall return to Night City later on with some more hangover shenanigans. Warden and Heartless with not be affected, as they are the most recent threads.

With both big threads ending, however, we've decided to restructure how we'll do threads going forward. First off, All our characters shall convene on Pathfinder to finally organize them into an actual group. Such as a clear motive and objective, a command structure, actually give ourselves a name, etc. We've gone too long without giving the heroes an alliance name, about time we did that.

After that finishes, our new structure for threads will be:
1-2 Big Threads (5 player minimum, full scale, big consequences, stuff we should remember by name in the months to come if not longer, full fat - WILL TAKE A LONG TIME)
2-4 Small Threads (2-4 players, small to medium scale encounters and consequences, a little more variety in terms of the goal, shouldn't take longer than a few months at most)
Big thanks to Bruce for this

This will hopefully allow for both overall plot progression and character driven stuff, so you know which thread will be the very long one and which character you're okay putting in there, and which you prefer to have in shorter things.

As well, since I don't think it's been made very clear by me: You can make your own threads on Iwaku, whether it's a group or just 1x1. The option is open for both Iwaku and Discord for player convenience, but you can RP in either if you prefer one over the other

With all that said, if you felt like joining us but wasn't sure how to, this lull will give you the chance to do that, so come on over!

To get back to you on this, the character in question would be from an AU Earth with the core similarity to our own being that (until somewhat recently) things like superhumans were just the things of fiction. The multiversal/omniversal forces that have allowed the fandom universes to open to one another would have been having adverse effects on said Earth for some time, sparking a change in the youngest generation of humans (a mutation according to science, an awakening according to religion). The wormhole into its universe would have only appeared within the year in that Earth's timeline.

Tell you what, come to our Discord, look around, chat with some other members, look through our official codex which goes over the RP history, and see what you think.

STAR WARS: SHADOW OF KORRIBAN

In a galaxy far, far away, the GALACTIC ALLIANCE - formed between the NEW REPUBLIC, IMPERIAL REMNANT and the many other minor nations throughout the galaxy - finds itself in charge of a ruined universe.

The YUUZHAN VONG have been defeated, as well as their many local allies, but a NEW CONFLICT seems to be brewing on the planet KORRIBAN - homeworld of the SITH. There, the Dark Side of the Force stirs with unnatural fervor, and great legions of the dead have risen from their allegedly eternal slumber.

The Galactic Alliance, eager to avoid another major armed conflict, so soon after the apocalyptic Yuuzhan Vong War, dispatches not only its finest soldiers and starships, but the heroic JEDI KNIGHTS of the New Jedi Order to help investigate, and ultimately defeat, this new threat.

However, even GRANDMASTER LUKE SKYWALKER and a cadre of his finest students may not be enough to handle the many secrets lurking in the shadows of this forbidden world…

AI WAR: OPENING MOVES

The Pathfinder Station is the home of the aptly named Pathfinder Alliance, a loose coalition of heroes and warriors from across many universes, once imprisoned aboard their station by the robotic forces which constructed it.

Yet, despite its apparent uniqueness and usefulness, the Pathfinder is merely one station in an entire navy of starships and space stations, and with a war between the Pathfinder Alliance and the AI on the close horizon, the Alliance will need more manpower to help them in their cause, as well as more infrastructure.

With data sold to them by an anonymous member of Interdimensional Security Solutions, another of the four major dimension-hopping factions, the Pathfinder Alliance has the location of another AI space station, of the same model and likely the same function. Capturing another station could greatly bolster the Alliance in nearly every way, and thus this operation is of extreme importance.

However, the AI have been ramping up their own war machine as well, and with their army and navy on edge, as well as their powerful commanders, anything could happen…

THE DREADNOUGHT -- AKA, THE FIGHT FOR ROME

With the Pathfinder Alliance finally created, there are still loose ends to follow up on. The most present being to find The Doctor, and with the Assassin's Creed waiting for their return, it's back to Rome we go! To the Pyramid of Cestius, where it is believed they may find a lead to where all the scattered are coming from, and where they are taken by the Borgia lapdogs 'The Followers of Romulus.'

If they can find the Doctor down there, or some lead to them, then they can focus on securing Rome itself for their Assassin allies… It will not be that simple.

Because down there in the catacombs, something is waiting for them. The machine minion of the AI itself, who taunted the heroes not too long ago. It wants a battle, and The Doctor dead or alive. Be prepared for a tough fight, because this lad ain't going down without one.

JACKASS: EVRENSEL EDITION

There's a game show in town and you're invited! Forcibly!

The game show host is bringing together a band of people from across the multiverse to run through his challenge course, and each one is more painful and embarrassing than the last. First team to make it to the end wins a special prize! Everyone else DIES!

PARALOGUE: THE FIRST RECON

On the advice of Thea, Abigail gathers a small team to perform reconnaissance of a planet they encountered prior to the taking of the current Pathfinder station.

Previously they had only discovered the planet by accident and learned from a man named Pete that it was owned and operated by a corporation named HayaGen as a hunting resort. It was also a location known to have had Scattered appearing for some time before their arrival.

Their objective is to investigate the planet and survive it's dangerous wildlife to gather intelligence on and/or make contact with the organization if at all possible. A secondary objective is to assist any compliant Scattered they encounter.
