THE GREAT IWAKU
WELCOME WAGON!
───

Howdy there friends and welcome aboard the Welcome Wagon! In this handy dandy little guide you will find what you need to know on how to greet newbies here on the site.

SAYING HOWDY TODAY!
Personalize your greeting so it doesn't look like some generic copy and paste! Some new users may say very little in their introduction, so if you find that the case you can always make a comment on their user or their avatar. You could even tell them a joke or ask them a question about their favorite roleplaying genres, how long they've been writing, or some of their hobbies to engage them in a conversation!

Take the time to not only read a newbie's into post, but the other posts that come after from other users of the site. We don't want a spamming of links, repeat of questions or answers. Remember: Just because someone got there first doesn't mean you cant say howdy too!

If someone hasn't yet, make sure to link a newbie to the site rules or to the newbie navigation somewhere within your lovely greeting. Also, feel free to link to any other parts of the forum you may deem useful to our new user! For example, you can link to any of the 5 roleplay realms if they've expressed interest in a certain roleplaying style. Or, show them the BBCode test forum if they like coding and want to have their hand at it!

Giddy up and follow up! In no way do you have to carry on a conversation, but if you've asked a question and the user has replied and answered it, acknowledge it. If there's nothing to reply to, leave them a reaction.

YAYS AND NAYS
Post in a new thread in New Arrivals & Departures a few times a week so that the forum can stay active. Give some of those intros love!

Frequent greeters will earn a 'Welcome Wagon' trophy for posting in New Arrivals at least 10 times in a 30 day period. This trophy is automatically rewarded or removed by the system based off of your activity.

Don't feel obligated to respond to every new thread! The time you can spare is always greatly appreciated and we thank you for your work. In no way do we expect you to give more than you offer.

And of course, if something ever looks odd, out of place, and suspicious report it. We would rather be safe than sorry!

─── GO THE EXTRA
MILE!
If you're feeling extra fancy with yours pants and want to do more than just greet new users, then you can volunteer to be apart of the Welcome Wagon. All you have to do is reply to this thread with a short introduction about yourself so newbies know they can reach out to you for something specific. If you no longer wish to participate then just delete your post. Feel free to rejoin at any time!

Have any questions? Feel free to reach out to any staff member here or me and we'll be happy to help!
