(2) Vials of Vitality Restoration Potion:

Description: The Potion of Vitality Restoration is a rare and powerful elixir that temporarily restores a portion of Sebastian's life force, counteracting the effects of his dark magic and reversing some of the physical aging caused by his spells. The potion is made from a combination of rare herbs, blood from a mystical creature, and arcane ingredients that are difficult to acquire. It's typically stored in a small, intricately designed glass vial with runic symbols etched into its surface to preserve the potion's potency.

Effects:

Vitality Restoration:
Drinking the potion restores a portion of Sebastian's life force, reducing signs of aging, fatigue, and physical deterioration caused by his magic. It can also heal minor wounds and rejuvenate his physical stamina, allowing him to continue using his abilities without immediately suffering the full consequences.

Magic Amplification: For a short period after consuming the potion, Sebastian's magical abilities are slightly enhanced, allowing him to cast spells with less strain on his life force. However, this amplification is temporary and fades quickly.

Limitations and Risks:

Temporary Effect:
The potions are temporary, typically lasting only a few hours. After the effects wear off, the toll on Sebastian's body resumes, often with a slightly increased rate of deterioration due to the temporary suppression.

Addictive Nature: The potion can become addictive, as the temporary relief from the curse's effects is alluring. Frequent use can lead to dependency, making Sebastian more reckless in his use of magic, knowing he has a crutch to fall back on.

Diminishing Returns: With repeated use, the potion's effectiveness lessens. Over time, Sebastian will need to consume more of it to achieve the same effect, and eventually, it may stop working altogether.

Rare Ingredients: The potion's ingredients are rare and difficult to find, meaning Sebastian must be strategic with every use. Obtaining the ingredients may require dangerous quests or unsavory deals.
Weaknesses

Physical Frailty:

Description:
The curse that drains his life force with each use of magic, Sebastian's body is physically weaker than an average human. He tires more easily, is more susceptible to illness, and has less physical strength and endurance.

Impact: Being prolonged in combat or physically demanding situations, Sebastian becomes weaker. He must rely on strategy, cunning, and magic rather than brute strength, and he is vulnerable to sustained physical confrontations.

Accelerated Aging:

Description:
When Sebastian uses his dark magic, it accelerates his aging process. Visible signs include graying hair, wrinkles, and frailty. Overuse of his powers could lead to him becoming prematurely aged and weakened.

Impact: The constant threat of aging limits the use of his magic, especially in quick succession. It also affects his psyche, making him wary of relying too heavily on his powers and possibly leading to a fear of aging and mortality.

Dependency on Potions:

Description:
While the Potion of Vitality Restoration can temporarily restore some of Sebastian's life force, he risks becoming dependent. Over time, the potion's effectiveness diminishes, and he may become desperate to acquire the ingredients, leading to risky or morally questionable actions.

Impact: His reliance on the potion could become a vulnerability, especially if he doesn't have the rare ingredients needed to create it. This dependency can also lead to mental and physical deterioration over time.

The Curse's Influence:

Description:
The evil spirit tied to Sebastian's curse exerts a subtle but constant influence over him. The more he uses his dark magic, the stronger this influence becomes, potentially leading him toward darker, more destructive behavior.

Impact: Sebastian must constantly resist the spirit's attempts to corrupt him further. This internal struggle can lead to moments of weakness, lapses in judgment, or even a loss of control, where the spirit temporarily takes over, forcing him to act against his better judgment.

Isolation and Trust Issues:

Description:
Due to his cursed nature and the fear it instills in others, Sebastian often finds himself isolated. His deep-seated suspicion of others makes it difficult to form genuine connections, leaving him without allies in critical moments.

Impact: This isolation makes Sebastian more vulnerable to situations where trust and cooperation are needed. He may hesitate to rely on others, even when it's in his best interest, which can lead to him being outnumbered or overwhelmed.

Vulnerability to Holy or Pure Magic:

Description:
Sebastian is particularly vulnerable to holy or pure magic. Spells or weapons imbued with holy attributes can cause him significant harm, negating his defenses and inflicting more damage than conventional attacks.

Impact: In combat against clerics, paladins, or others who wield holy magic, Sebastian has a disadvantage. He must be cautious and strategic in such encounters, as confrontation could be fatal.

Limited Healing Abilities:

Description:
While Sebastian can use dark magic to heal himself, this comes at a great cost, draining even more of his life force. As a result, he lacks reliable healing abilities, especially in prolonged battles or after severe injuries.

Impact: Sebastian must carefully manage his health and avoid taking unnecessary damage. If severely wounded, he might not have the means to recover, leaving him weakened or incapacitated for extended periods.

Moral and Ethical Dilemmas:

Description:
The nature of Sebastian's magic and the actions he must take to sustain himself often force him into morally gray or outright dark decisions. This can weigh heavily on his conscience, leading to inner turmoil and doubt.

Impact: These moral conflicts can distract or hinder Sebastian, especially when faced with decisions that pit his survival against his humanity. Over time, the burden of these choices could erode his resolve or lead him down a darker path.
Looks cool so far, could you add a quick backstory info on the sheet as well?

Out of curiosity, before I delve through the lore thread... what's the expected writing level going to be?

Edit: Scratch that, already read through it, and started writing up a character sheet because plot bunnies. Would still like to know the expected writing level, though.
>basic info
Name: Adalinda
Alias: The Fishfolk Witch
Nickname: Lin
Age: 22
Gender: F
Race: Fishfolk

>bio
Appearance: Hazards of AI art, i suppose, but this is the current best generated image. The tail should obviously originate from lower on her body, and the conspicuously missing arm isn't something Adalinda will have to worry about since she still has both of hers...
pixai-1788920641774834334-0.png

Height and weight: 4'10", ~170 lbs. Tail is about 1/4th of that weight, and is about 2.5ft.
Personality:
A calm and mature woman with a merciless streak. She's seen too many weird beings in the dreamlands to be phased by most things people would consider frightening, but all the same, her confidence is not ironclad in the face of overwhelming odds.

Backstory:
The daughter of a fisherman from the Starfalls, orphaned at a young age during a storm. Adalinda was found many years later, delirious, washed up on the shore nearest to Folmburh. She claims to have spent the intervening years wandering through a dreamscape, pursued (or perhaps, herded) by what was most evidently the Fox. Despite (or because of; one should never claim to know the Fox's intentions) this, Lin eventually came upon an abandoned city built within the skeleton of a titanic dragon, dead yet dreaming of lost glories. In a moment of pity or perhaps schadenfreude, the spirit of the dragon allowed the starving, harassed, and near-feral girl to sup upon the last drop of it's blood. In doing so, she became more than mortal though far, far less than divine... It is a portion of her past that she was canny enough to hide, however. Being the last survivor of a storm and harried by the Fox is curse enough in the eyes of the superstitious; it is better to let others believe she simply pays homage to the obscure and faded god who guided her back to the realm of the living...

For years, she has lived near Folmburh, plying the only trade she knows and learning to use the gift she was given. Several chance encounters have left her with the reputation of a 'Witch', for the misfortunes that fall upon those who sought to take advantage of such a young girl. However, her actions have always been in defense of herself or the town, and so she is permitted to remain despite her reputation. Among those chance encounters was a particular Berkelman, who wished to hear Adalinda's tale in person and learn more of the dreamlands she once wandered...

And now, as a known 'Witch', a letter has arrived from Berkelman. Were-beast problems, it would seem... A hunter Adalinda is not, but her skills and her physique are ideal for the task ahead if the letter is to be believed.

Skills:
Fishing, cooking, weaving, swimming, and sailing are all things a fisherman's child can be expected to pick up over the course of their youth, and naturally, these are skills Adalinda has. She can be considered fairly athletic, too, for all the exercise involved in her life's work, and is decently skilled with a harpoon. As a Fishfolk she can remain underwater for far longer than most, though the idea that a Fishfolk can breath underwater is unfortunately exaggerated; the truth is simply exceptional lung capacity and efficiency, with which to hold one's breath for minutes on end.

>combat loadout
Equipment:
Three Harpoons, made of bronze and chained with the same. They are of lesser durability than iron weapons, yet bronze is a metal which does not rust, and has thus been invaluable to Adalinda over the years. She carries them in a harness much like a quiver, when traveling overland.

A Nice Boat... on the off chance an adventure such as this requires one. It is made of mere wood, and can only carry around four or so people comfortably, though more can fit if cramped conditions can be tolerated. It is primarily a sailboat, though it has two pairs of wooden oars stashed away just in case as well as several nets for fishing.

>magic
Magic Capabilities:
Having been effectively adopted into a dead god's bloodline, she is capable of fueling the barest fragments of miraculous power. Between her experiences and the dead god's specialties, it is easiest for her to weave dreams and illusions. Maintaining such figments is a matter of stamina, however, and while illusions on the scale of a small gemstone or such are trivial to maintain, grand illusions such as that of a well-furnished and staffed palace would kill her in mere fractions of a second. More moderate illusions such as disguising herself as another person can be expected to last perhaps an hour or two before she becomes too tired to act in-character, and perhaps half an hour longer if remaining in-character is no concern.

Illusions and Dreamweaving are not the limits of her capabilities, however. Lin can briefly and at noticeable cost apply a minor mental compulsion or alter how the target perceives her, though doing so is liable to exhaust her and never lasts past the point where the target realizes they've been affected. Of course, the greater the deviation from the target's normal behavior, the more likely they are to realize that something is off...

In times of desperation, there is one final trick in her arsenal. Calling upon her patron and blurring the lines between Dream and Reality, she can undergo a temporary transformation similar to that of were-beasts, gaining draconic traits for a few minutes. Unfortunately, The Dream Of A Dragon only holds as much power as those who would interact with her believe it to have. Intimidation tactics are key, for an opponent who does not believe Adalinda to be a threat is likely to shrug off any attack she tries... And forcing her bloodline to manifest so directly is not without consequences. Her mind will be stuck in the Dream until her body recovers, which might take days in the best cases or up to a week in the worst cases. To leave both body and mind so vulnerable in a world like this... it is not a risk to be taken lightly.

Risk cs, ~sorry for posting it in cs first
>basic info
Name: Priscilla Shaw
Alias or Nickname if any: Risk, The red fox
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Race: Kitsune

>bio
Appearance:
Red-haired_girl_Priscilla.jpg
Small, frail and malnourished, caloused hands and feet, and regular bruises littering her body with the little flesh on her bones being lean muscle, her hard life is easily visible to anyone that takes in her sorry sight. Her bright crimson hair is usually hidden by a thick layer of dirt, making it muddy and unassuming, with the same going for her tanned face from life without a roof and lack of easy access to anywhere she can bathe. Though through it all, if one can manage to take a closer look and stand the smell, she's got a pretty face, startling blue eyes, and a different charm from the bountiful noble women, that speaks of her pure bloodline. A rough jewel in the mud that's in desperate need of some cleaning.

Hidden under her dirty, worn rags and in her unwashed hair is a pair of fox ears and a tail, which she usually tries her best to keep out of sight due to her heritage's poor reputation, which isn't that difficult given how hard most people find it to even look at her when they're browsing the main streets.

Height and weight: 5'2", 80lbs,
Personality: Cold, sharp and distrustful from a hard life on the streets, Priscilla rarely gives her name to anyone, treating relationships calculatingly and assessing risk against pay-off in any given conversation having seen and fallen for many different scams in the darker alleyways of Folmburh.

Wary and gloomy when on her own, with her thoughts usually dwelling on where her next meal will be coming from while living day to day, a street urchin through and through that's somehow managed to get by into her twenties.

Backstory: Daughter of man and kitsune, Priscilla was left to her own devices as a daughter of the mythical fox in a forest that she never got the chance to learn the name of. Captured at a young age by poachers, she was snatched from her home and dragged into the land of humans as a slave, tossed between and abused by owners as little more than a maid at best, and a target dummy at worse as their rage at the tricks of her predecessors was targeted at her. Sold and re-sold for an astronomical price as her youth was spent in fear, until one day she just.. Stopped. Dull-eyed and lifeless in a corner of her cell.

Faking her death after finding her magical blood useful, she'd dulled the senses of their hands when they checked her pulse with her newfound magic, and ignored the pain as they gave her 'corpse' a kick, her latest owners sold her off to a research facility to try extract what magical parts they could from her body, but after biding her time and waiting for them to lower their guard, she made her escape mid-travel, and started making her new life in Folmburh where she lives to the current day.

Skills:
Sleight of hand - Learning the ways of the thief on her own left her bruised and battered, but in the end she's grown quite good at it, her fingers nimble enough to slip into a pocket or cut off a purse without a trace.

Stealth - Similarly, she'd learned where and how to hide, how to approach and disappear. Not quite invisible, but she's gotten close if they're not actively chasing after her.

Tolerant - Life with nothing has made her hardy, getting by with flavourless, stale bread without complaint, and dealing with furious guardsmen without panicking too much. Though pain doesn't feel any less worse, she's somewhat used to dealing with it.

>combat loadout
Equipment: A small, rugged dagger she uses for anything and everything, it's her lifeline when other backstreet crooks see her as vulnerable, as a thief with a knife is much more dangerous than a thief with nothing.

>magic
Magic Capabilities: Illusions and manipulating the senses comes from her blood, and while she hasn't figured out all that well, she also has an affinity for fire.

>Other
Priscilla can't read. :(

A rough jewel in the mud that's in desperate need of some cleaning.

lookin cool
feel free to confirm her presence on the CS section!

Looking forward to this starting :D

it's going to be awhile if the rate at which sheets are being approved is any indication, alas.
is what it is. Looking forward to seeing Adalinda and Risk interact. It's funny to me that the fish woman is smaller than her but over twice as heavy xD

To leave both body and mind so vulnerable in a world like this... it is not a risk to be taken lightly.
apologies for the delay, have no fear for I am here
