...there is only a hamfisted Chosen One protagonist.

Hello to you all, and welcome to myself. I'm not a very new roleplayer, and currently operate under the same alias on another site that I shouldn't need to advertise. My current 'schtick' for the last year or so has been tabletop roleplay in my familiar play by post environment. I've been having some good fun, but I wanted to look at some other sites for a bit. I'm learning how to GM properly, and I wanted to find some new guinea pigs partners. The tabletop scene is rather small there, so the only real method to expand outward is to look to other sites.

I may not start a game here for maybe another month or so, since I just started a new game with a few lasting partners and I'd like that to find its feet before I start a new thing. That way both games will be able to earn a fair chance, you know. Just thought I'd poke in now and maybe hang out a bit, cause why not?

Welcome to Iwaku! What are some of your favorite tabletop RPGs?

D&D 5e used to be one of my favorites. I still think it's a fine system, I've just been overexposed to it at this point. The rules are a lot more keen on looting and dungeon bashing than character relationships or pushing an interesting narrative.

I've been digging into Powered by the Apocalypse games like Dungeon World, Monster Hearts, and Masks. I think that's a system that suits my tastes for RP.

And as far as tabletop settings go, Numenéra and Eclipse Phase fight for my absolute favorites. Numenéra typically wins out in my mind because the Cypher system is rather elegant, and Eclipse Phase's d100 system can be difficult to learn.

Hey Ms Ravenwinter :3 Welcome to Iwaku!!

There's a fair few people around here that are into tabletop games (I myself am just beginning to test those waters) so hopefully you'll find a good number of willing test subjects players to join you on your adventures. If you have any questions or are unsure about anything then please don't hesitate to ask. Also, in case you haven't seen them, it maybe worth giving the Getting Started Guide and the Newbie Care Package a look. They are just a couple of resources we offer to new members find their feet here :3

Happy Roleplaying :3

Welcome! I've played a good bit of tabletop games myself, and they're definitely a very different, yet very refreshing change from forum rp.

Anyway, glad to have you! Take this cookie :cookie: and enjoy your stay.
