Agnes Hackenberg started as a Hollywood darling in films such as Princess Petticoat, and The Littlest Lady, growing in to her comedy roles of Gentleman Prefer Shrews and A Girl for Every Weekday, and then blew us away in rousing dramas like The Murder of May and Soldier of Sin.
Ignore the gossip you have been hearing on those trashy tabloids, suggesting that a maniac has marked one of our esteemed guests for murder. That couldn't possibly happen. The Bobbies boasts the best security of all Hollywood events. SHOULD anyone fear that are being targeted by a stalker, rabid fan, or serial killer, please alert one of our security detail.

WHAT: Modern Day Hollywood Setting. Hidden Supernatural Allowed.

BRING: Your character and a fancy costume worthy of the red carpet!
This charp is a Modern time setting in Hollywood! You'll be attending a fancy awards show. You can play an actor, singer, band, director, artist, designer, random guest, staff, any one that would be attending such a party like this! For this charp we are allowing supernatural elements, but remember that the world at large does not know they exist. So don't go around being a wolf on the red carpet or casting spells all willynilly.
WHAT IS A MASQUERADE STYLE CHARP?
A Masq ChaRP means you do not tell anyone which character you are playing until the end of the roleplay. The fun is in seeing if your friends can guess which character you are playing. This does NOT mean the ChaRP itself is a masquerade where characters wear masks. (Although in THIS case, it is!)
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN A MASQUERADE CHARP?
The Masqs are social interaction roleplays. Their purpose is allow you to socially interact with others in character. Every Masq ChaRP has a basic setting plot that is designed to allow characters to come in and out of the scene at will, so throughout the day everyone has a chance to attend the event. The story of the ChaRP evolves and changes with every character that participates during the day, and begins it's "climatic resolution" during the last four hours of the event.
WHAT ARE THE RULES OF THE MASQUERADE?
- You may only play ONE character for the entire event. (Unless you were given special permission by the event coordinator for plot reasons.
- Do not play joke or troll characters, especially ones that break the setting and spirit of the event. We LOVE a little comedy, but will kick out a player who is being disruptive.
- Post SHORT AND FAST. Masquerades are very quick pace and contain a LOT of players. Players can't wait 20 minutes for you to write a wall of text. If it takes you longer than two minutes to type your post, you are taking too long and might get lost in the action. This is an exercise in quick and concise writing!
- Be respectful of ALL players, regardless of playing skill or style. Masquerades are meant to be friendly for newbie roleplayers and relaxed for veteran players. We now have an Out of Character Box to make giving people help easier.
- Pay attention and remember that what your character does will matter. The event hosts create the plots on the fly based on what characters do during the roleplay. If you want to be a part of the story, you have to post and interact with characters. The more you interact, the more interesting things come to pass.
- Like in Real Life, a character may not be able to acknowledge or notice your character immediately because they are engaged in doing something else. (For example a new character walking in to the room, but the other characters arguing about muffins and do not see them.) Don't get discouraged if you go can't get someone to interact with you right away. Just keep posting and doing actions with your character, or even approach others who also seem to be idle and it WILL happen.
- Do not take events in the roleplay personally or assume that bad reactions are because they think you/your character sucks. Everyone is playing a character and reacting to things as their character would!
