Premise
Androgynous autistic disaster with tactile-visual synesthesia. Theatrical & a bit of a daredevil; boisterous as a defense mechanism.
Catty, troublemaker hippie who's kind of mean in a big sister way, with a penchant for vandalism & cop-punching. Unconcerned with consequences if they're the one getting in trouble, and will cover for their friends. Very often described by their family as a "bad influence" and "problem child (who never grew up)."
Somehow both the forgotten middle child, "why can't you be like your siblings?" kid, & oldest daughter of their middle-class family.
Middle sibling of five that became four after their eldest brother committed suicide. (They, elder brother, & slightly younger sister were all teens at the time. Youngest siblings were under 10.) Acted out and withdrew from their family, after their brother's death was underplayed & the root issues went ignored.
Eventually ran off and joined a small commune of semi-close friends & acquaintances. Their family sent an investigator after them, and about a year later called the cops & had the place raided. Not wanting August, problem child they may be, to have a permanent criminal record, their parents instead sent them to
Second Start Ranch.
Appearance
Somehow manages to be imposing in a twink way (though they're more of an otter, if you wanna get technical.)
Eccentric and bohemian in their fashion theme. Mixes and matches feminine and masculine styles at a whim, and is rarely seen in the exact same outfit. The only reoccurring item of their clothes is a fur-lined jacket, something they hold dearly as the first thing they bought with their own money & as something that gives them all manner of euphoria.
Always keeps a pocket knife and/or switchblade on hand. Secondarily for defense or intimidation, and primarily as a replacement for their phantom retractable claws.
Trivia
Tolkien nerd. Trying to learn (mainly how to swear in) Elvish.
Says their favorite character is Aragorn, but that's only if they have to choose just one.
Technophobe more so in the sense that they're gonna accidentally break anything more advanced than a cassette player.
Can make hauntingly accurate lynx vocalizations, & can "purr" by rolling their Rs.
