Welcome to Ziradia Online
Ziradia Online is a near-futuristic fantasy/sci-fi roleplay, set in the summer of 2090, when 10 students are invited to be Premium Final In-Game Testers for the highly publicized, upcoming MMORPG, Ziradia Online.
"An MMORPG like no other, with quests customized to each users playstyle, and an unlimited number of levels and professions to pursue. Loyal players are rewarded, and huge events are held regularly."
The 10 students are brought to Gemu Headquarters, to stay in their luxurious Beta Tester Compound at headquarters. Everything is provided, from large, comfortable living quarters to natural hot springs and a top-of-the-line gym, as well as sprawling gardens and even a small shopping centre. Everything is designed so the teens will never have to be far from the game as they spend three months testing it.At the end of the time they are each promised a handsome sum of money for their time. All they need to do is to follow the few rules the company sets down: play the game for a minimum of 8 hours a day, and attend daily beta tester meetings with the developers, who are headed up by the famous Professor Kiyonaga Nagata, the developer of the top games for the past 5 years.
With 3 months to explore the richest game in history, these teens are bound to have many adventures, both in the virtual world and otherwise.
About Ziradia Online
Ziradia Online is a full dive VR open world sandbox MMORPG. It features a blend of fantasy and steampunk elements, and puts a heavy focus on personalization. While the beginning quests and rewards may seem cliche, as the system learns each user's playstyle it adapts and changes, no two experiences will ever be the same!
Unlike many MMOs, it does not encourage guilds, rather focusing on rewarding solo players and small parties. The towns and cities scattered throughout Zirada, which is shaped like a giant, twisting tower floating in an endless sky, each have unique houses, inns, shops, and other venues. Player creativity is highly prioritized, with the top-tier AI constantly monitoring and adjusting to ensure challenging but entertaining gameplay for every player. There are, in fact, very few limits. However, the game makers have not released any sort of guide or basic tips, so when entering the game, you really are going in blind.
PROFESSIONS AND TRADING/CRAFTING
Nearly any profession available in the real world is able to be developed in ZO. Here's a list of a few:

As for crafting, raw items are gathered by fighting the right kind of mobs or searching for spawn zones. The higher level a character is in their skill, the rarer and more prolific the drops will be. Once all the resources for a product have been gathered, they then have to take the items to a craft zone (for a blacksmith that would be a forge, for an alchemist it would be a distillation table, etc.). Depending on the level of the item they are trying to produce (if they aren't just smashing things together and hoping they work) and the character's skill level, they may or may not succeed.
Recipes and designs are found in drops, as well as quest rewards, and give detailed instructions on how to make an item, as well as a temporary skill boost.
COMBAT
Combat is the fastest way to obtain resources through drops and level up your character. For lower level mobs, common spawns, I am happy leaving it to you, the players, to fight them in a single, detailed post.
The amount of detail and whether you powerplay or not will determine how much XP you get from fighting the mob.
Every time a mob or group of mobs is fought I will reply, either OOCly or ICly, with the amount of XP, gold, and items it/they dropped.
When it comes to mid-high tier mobs and bosses, I will play the mob.
Upon entering a new combat area I will inform you, in a UI post, the local mobs, quests, and points of interest.
For PvP combat you must be in a noted PvP area and/or challenge your partner to a duel. As GM I'll observe the fight and settle any disputes, but I think with proper OOC communication everything should turn out fine.
Upon death you have 5 IC minutes to be revived by another (does not have to be guild or party member) with a Potion of Revival. You will then be unable to move and invincible for 15 IC seconds as the potion takes effect. If another player does not revive you in time then you with disappear and reappear at the nearest safe area. Upon death your gear holds a chance to break.

Starting Classes and Subclasses
[spoili]
Tank< (Basic equipment: kite shield, tower shield, broad shield, sword, lance, mace, heavy flail, gauntlets)
Guardian-a tank who focuses on armour and stats, skilled at soaking a lot of damage.
Relic Shield-a tank who focuses on enchanted equipment and using magic to bolster their tanking. Puts out more damage than the guardian, but their equipment is more likely to break, and their mana pools are middling.
Fighter< (Basic equipment: Buckler, longsword, rapier, light flail, steel-tipped staff, gauntlets)
Knight-a fighter with strong armour and heavy damage, weaker than a tank and slower than a brawler, but also more versatile, as they can play light tanks or just put out damage.
Paladin-a magic-focused fighter, most of the spells in their book are sustain and healing, with a few mana-hungry, heavy damage spells as well.
Mage< (Basic equipment: Robes, staff, wand, disc, grimoires)
Druid-a mage class with deep mana pools and a spell book full of stuns, heals, roots, and lifesteal.
Magi-a mage with low sustain but heavy mid-short ranged damage, likely the flashiest of the classes, with a kit full of things like fireballs, lightning strikes, and electricity fields.
Ranged< (Basic equipment: Light armour, gun, bow, throwing daggers, cloaks, boots)
Gunner-the only class able to utilize guns, this class also has a small mana pool with which they can turn their simple lead bullets into explosions, stuns, or guide them more accurately. Burst damage.
Hunter-armed with bow and throwing daggers, this class moves quickly and can put down a lot of damage over time as long as they have someone to keep the aggro off them.
Brawler< (Basic equipment: staff, scythe, lance, glaive, light armour, pike, trident, weighted net)
Tactician-mid ranged class who focuses on positioning, flexibility, and utilizing the weapons and light magic available to them. Kite and fight, good initial damage, then damage over time.
Specialist-mid ranged class with plenty of Area of Effect damage, can put out damage when necessary, but also has plenty of stat boost spells and shields.
Rogue< (Basic equipment: daggers, light armour, poison spikes, spiked armguards, familiar, gauntlets)
Adventurer-armed with a variety of weapons, the adventurer is a light, quick attacker with a tendency to get themselves into trouble...and somehow attract better loot. They may also have one of the following familiars: hawk, wolf, dog, owl, fox, bat, lynx, ocelot.
Assassin-experts of poison and stealth, the assassin has some of the lowest sustainability, but their ability to quickly deal damage and--literally--disappear is unparalleled. Their spell kit includes many distractions and stealth spells, with a few to weaken enemies. The assassins must wear special glyphed gauntlets to cast spells.

Locations-Real World
The Beta Tester House
Top of the line and spare-no-expense, the Beta Tester Compound is a stylish blend of modern architecture and Japanese influences. The heart of the compound is a large 5 bed, 5 bath house, with an interior courtyard, large, completely kitted out kitchen, comfortable conference room, gym, recreation room, living room, and library. Each bedroom is the size of a very small house, holding two full-sized beds each, along with two desks, a sitting area, tv, and personal TouchWall, a large, very thin touch screen set into the wall beside each bed that can be customized with photos and programs of choice, and whose specially designed Night Light system ensures that, if you wish to make a note on the wall in the middle of the night, the backlight won't disrupt your sleep cycle.

The Gardens
The Beta Tester Gardens are lovely, sprawling, and immaculately kept. There is a hedge maze behind the house, and many little nooks with benches or fountains or delicate little statues. A bubbling brook winds its way throughout the gardens.
The Hot Springs
The private beta tester hot springs are tucked away to the west of the house, the mineral rich water always steaming at the perfect tempreture, with many luxary soaps, fluffy robes, and warm towels constantly at the ready in the bathhouse. (It is advised that beta testers pack swimsuits in order to make use of these facilities.)
Gemu HQ Shopping Centre
This shopping centre, availible to all employees at Gemu Headquarters, includes several resuraunts and cafes, two clothes stores, a shoe store, the largest Gemu store in the world, a bookstore, and a pharmacy.
Ziradia Online Monitoring
Accessible only by Professor Nagata and his elite team of game developers, this is the rooms from which the Premium Beta Test is monitored. All player stats, both real world and in game, are kept track of, and tests are run, events are initiated, and challenges designed. Everything done in this room is intended to stretch the game--and its players--to the limits.

Let's try to keep this short and sweet, yeah?
Let's try to keep this short and sweet, yeah?
- Intermediate+ writing level please. Of course leniency is granted, everyone has off days, but I'd like at least basic spelling and grammar, as well as description, not just dialogue.
- Minimum paragraph (5+ sentences) per reply. I understand while having a conversation it's harder to write long replies, but I'd like the RP to be fairly literate. One paragraph is the minimum, I'd prefer 2+.
- Unique/Original characters please, nothing borrowed from an anime/tv show/book/movie/etc.
- No Mary/Gary Sues.
- Reply regularly please, at least once every two to three days, to keep pace with the RP.
- Be willing to work together OOCly. This is my first really big forum RP in a couple years. I'm rusty, and welcome help. I'd also like to keep OOC drama at a nonexistant level, please.
- Finally: If I think someone is messing up the roleplay for others, simply not following the rules, or just not holding up the standard, I reserve the right to replace them.
