Jun wasn't always the tough stalwart guy that followed guy that had come to love his time in the gang, a long time ago he used to be a part of a happy family. It was back middle school, he thought he had it all, the happy family, he was good in sports and getting good grades, and even somewhat popular with the girls. It was him, his father, mother and older sister, they all got along well and everything seemed to be going great. But just as there is Good times there are also bad times, on the day of his graduation from middle school his parents had dropped him off earlier to prepare and so Jun did getting together with his class and what not. by the time the ceremony had started Jun had not seen his family, he wondered if they were running late. He sat through his ceremony, it eventually ending without Jun seeing his Parents or sister once. As people started to leave A teacher waved Jun over to where she was standing with a few police officers, he hesitatingly walked over to them only to be told his family had been involved in a terrible accident that killed his parents and his sister was in critical condition at the hospital. Hearing this Jun broke down for a few days confused and lost on how this could happen.
It wasn't until he got a call from the Hospital saying that his sister was in a stable condition did Jun finally snap back to reality. Rushing down to the hospital to see her, he promised he would take care of everything while she focused on recovering from the crash. While both of them might have been satisfied with this promise the hospital was not, they wanted money. They told Jun that if he could not raise the money in X amount of days they would stop therapy for his sister and kick her out. That was the last thing he wanted to happen so Jun scrambled to find a way to make the money. He tried many odd jobs and quick paying ones but none that would make enough to cover all the bills.
It was then, on one random day did the old Gang leader approach Jun and offer him the money after seeing how desperate he was to help his own sister. He wanted these kinda people in his Gang, ones that would do anything for their loved ones, that is why he offered the money to Jun. Jun was a little reluctant at first to take it, but shortly after the leader explained his terms of Jun joining and serving the gang he agreed knowing this would likely be the only way he would receive the money. Being able to pay for his sister's treatment as well as his own living expenses Jun was grateful to the gang leader for a time. The leader forced Jun to finish Highschool, all the while still making him also train to be a proper gang member. Learning how to fight and deal with people's lies and deceptions. During his highschool days he was notely not as passionate about things as before. the only thing he took pride in was his cooking skills and his strength. In his own way he began to climb the chain of command slowly getting more power in the gang and more responsibilities.
Soon enough his Sister was fully recovered and doing well on her own, the two lived together for a while. During that time his sister was attended school and didn't seem to ask much about what he was doing in his free time. It wasn't until his sister happened upon him with his sword drawn on a person threatening them for money did she realize what kinda person her brother had turned into. The two would bicker often and soon enough his sister moved out to live on her own. This strain in their relationship put a dampen on Jun's spirits. He started to work less in the gang and seem to be even quieter than before, It wasn't until someone new joined the gang did a new flame begin to kindle in his heart.
For so long he had fought and struggled his way up the ladder, only to be met by some kid halfway through who shot passed him. The boy's name was Haru and seemed to be receiving special training from the boss it made Jun more than a little jealous as he thought he deserved some special treatment after all the time he had put up. With a fire lit under him he started to pursue his goal of climbing to the top again, this time challenged by a rival. The two were close to each other in skill but Haru had the brains that made him all the better when compared to Jun. Soon enough the day came that the Boss would be stepping down, and Jun wished to step up and become more powerful, but to his surprise the Boss chose Haru to be the next leader. Blown away by this Jun was swallowed up by his own jealousy, so much so that the day after Haru was put in charge Jun challenged him to a duel. It was a long and bloody fight but after enough punches were thrown Jun was the loser. Refusing to accept the fact he had lost he drove himself to train harder and to become better. it wasn't long before Jun challenged Haru again, and lost again, Jun was having such a tough time accepting things, why was everything going wrong all the time? His jealousy continue to fester and grow inside him until challenging Haru to a duel became a regular thing. Day after day the two would fight and beat each other bloody, learning the others fighting style and how they use it, but not once would Jun win.
This charade carried on for about a month before he finally came to reason why he had been losing. He thought he had been fighting for the better of the gang, when really it was just for his own weak desire of power. Disgusted with himself he stayed away from the gang, his family, for a few days as he collected himself and reviewed his actions over the past few weeks. The sudden realization hit him, Haru was for the better of the gang....while Jun wanted to beat Haru and kick him out. Haru easily could have finished Jun any number of the times after they finished their fights but he didn't, he could of got tired of doing it and just kicked him out but Haru didn't. Realizing he had been consumed by his own jealousy he felt horrible for some of the things he had said to Haru during their battles. His love for the gang was simple greater than Jun's and he respected that now.
When Jun returned to the gang he was greeted with happy welcomes and more but only one thing was on his mind. Jun walked straight to where Haru was and challenged him once more. Only once the fighting began did people start to realize the difference in Jun now. He was acting more calm and precise than before, his movements weren't decided by his rage that day rather by his own will. He managed to put Haru on the defensive for a time before Haru soon came back and ended the fight with a powerful blow to Jun's gut. Having the new ability to accept his loss now he would smile at Haru for the first time before pledging his Loyalty to the man. Taken aback by Jun's new attitude and the bond they had now grown through their many fights Haru surprised everyone by making Jun his second in command.
