It would for me. My phone had a built in flashlight, but no way to turn it on.
I had to find an app on the Play Store to access it. :/
...Weird. Must be an Android thing.

Like I said, the iPhone doesn't even list the flashlight button among the apps. That button's on a totally different menu. o__o

My android came with a built in flashlight app too that's not listed amongst the applications.
 
Since 2015, the android flashlight should be in the same place (or near). Swipe down from the top and you'll see your Wi-Fi buttom, Mobile Data, & a bunch of other things that I can't think of. You can swipe down again and reveal a whole list of things like Airplane Mode, Screen Rotation, and yes, even flashlight. Or, you can just do the first step and start swiping to the left to reveal them in rotation.

Or just use Google Voice and say "Flashlight On" / "Flashlight Off".
