HEIGHT. a very tall lad, standing at 6'3 at a slouch. he's got a relaxed look to his posture most of the time, despite the great pressure he's usually under. his hair does also add a little extra height as it sits puffed up and messy.
BODY TYPE. along with being rather tall, ben is slim and scrawny with just a little bit of muscle built up. he doesn't ever have much time to work out or anything, but the amount of work and the type of work he does usually keeps him in pretty good shape.
HAIR. as mentioned before, ben's hair stays in a constant state of disarray. his unruly curls keep his hair standing tall and wild, though still pretty good to run your fingers through.
EYES. ben has some of the most stunning eyes ever seen on a man. at first glance, they're a pale green color. the longer you look at them, though, the more detail you notice. around the iris, a dark blue circle outlines the green. within the green, there are streaks of brown or hazel that are complimented by the deeper green speckles throughout the color. altogether, his eyes are his most mesmerizing feature.
PIERCINGS. none yet, though he wouldn't count it out
TATTOOS. none currently, but he's working on it.
SCARS. quite a few, though he doesn't often talk about where they came from. the most notable, is an ugly, dark scar across the back of his left hand. there is also a small scar on his left cheek that is usually lost to his dimples when he smiles.
SCENT. leather and clean laundry - he is also usually warm, so it's like laying in a pile of towels straight out of the dryer when you hug or cuddle him

RELATIONS: those windermere peaks look like a perfect place to cry
PARENTS.
sean jackson wilde & clara lee wilde
- ben doesn't speak to his father. after the death of his mother when he was a junior in high school, their relationship only progressed to get worse. unable to go to college, ben remained in the unhealthy climate of his childhood home until he was nineteen. at that point, it didn't matter that he was basically broke and on his own. his father told him on the way out the door that if he walked out, he would never be welcome there again. ben left anyway.
SIBLINGS. it's more than possible that ben has multiple siblings that he doesn't know about. after his mother's death, his father lost himself in every way he could, including hoards of random women, none of whom ever cared much for ben. if this is the case, ben doesn't know any of them.
CHILDREN. just himself.
EXES. sierra casey

cicily atherton

the little coffee shop was bubbling with life. ever the observer, cicily caught little snippets of passing conversations, the warm scent of freshly brewed coffee, and the sight of people passing by her little corner booth. growing up in a well recognized family, she never had a moment to sit back and simply observe the world moving around her. someone always wanted to speak to her, touch her, crowd her. since moving, she found that very few people in new york knew who she was. it seemed that the reputation of the atherton children didn't reach the depths of the bustling city. of course, she heard passing people speak of her parents: margot and taylor atherton, the famous movie director and his country singer wife.

the atherton daughters were well talked about in georgia. people tried to befriend the sisters with the hope that they would be able to meet their parents. the girls grew up learning how to spot fake people in a crowd who just wanted to use them. it felt like a relief now that no one knew who she was. however, she still had small feelings of disappointment when she introduced herself to people and they had no idea who she was.

going from having everything handed to her on a silver platter to a poor, lost girl in new york was a significant change for the blonde. for the longest time, she felt like she was swimming in an ocean of doubt. did she make the right choice? should she just pack up and head home now? did she have enough money for the week's groceries? she swam in her own doubt and insecurities. however, they all seemed to fly straight out her mind whenever she saw him.

benjamin wilde.

she'd met him on accident one night when on vacation with her family. barely of legal age, cicily had wormed her way into a bar, flashing her fake id at the entrance to meet up with a guy. she'd been so excited, she had worn her favorite red dress that fell just above her knees with softly puffed sleeves. the date hadn't gone great, even from the start. he had been invasive and crude, something poor cicily was well too used to but undoubtedly uncomfortable with. benjamin had witness the encounter and approached the two, pretending to be old friends with cicily. grateful wasn't even the right word for how she felt in that moment. the two of them ended up exchanging numbers before she left back home to georgia.

she smiled warmly at the memory, her eyes searching the cafe for the reason for her smile. he was ordering drinks at the counter. no, moving to new york to be with him was not a mistake. risking everything for him was not a mistake. he was beautiful, even just standing there. he had been even more beautiful during his set. whenever he had a performance at the coffee shop, cicily never missed it, even if she had to work. the best perk about being a barista was that her boyfriend played at the same coffee shop she worked at.

a dark figure blocked her vision. blinking in surprise, she looked up at the broad shouldered man. he smiled down at her, before pushing her farther into the booth and sliding in next to her. "hello beautiful," he grinned, flashing crooked, slightly yellowing teeth. "i, um... hello?" cicily wrung her hands in her lap, attempting to look around for her boyfriend. she tuned out the man until he grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him. "ya hear me beautiful?" she shook her head. "i said-" cicily averted her eyes in silent panic.

ic: ben stifled a yawn as he stood in line for coffee after finishing his most recent set. it wasn't his most lucrative gig, but they were always glad to have him. it definitely helped that he was always there to lend a hand if a delivery came in and they needed help unloading. it was just one more of the small jobs that he took from people around the city. ben did whatever he could to get a little extra money in his pocket, though admittedly, it didn't stay there long.

glancing back across the room, ben caught sight of his breathtaking girlfriend for a moment. she wasn't looking at him, but rather lost in thought at the table waiting. after all the time they'd been together, he could still hardly believe it was true. she was this incredible, beautiful woman who came from an unbelievable background, and yet she had chosen him as the one she wanted to be with. just a few years earlier, ben had been sleeping on the ground under a bridge. he had been a mess, doing everything he could just to survive day to day. the day he'd met cissy, though... it had changed his life.

finally making it to the bar, ben offered a kind smile to the barista behind the counter. he didn't bother to look at the menu, knowing what both he and cicily would be drinking. ordering cicily's complicated order and his own simpler brew, he thanked the young woman by name before stepping back to wait for their drinks. as he waited, ben's mind wandered, thinking about his performance and what had gone well. the audience had been captivated by his singing, as they usually were. there had been a few tips afterwards, but it wasn't much. regardless, drinks were on the house, which helped exponentially. this tended to be another common form of payment from some of the places he worked. while money was preferable in the event that ben did a task for someone, sometimes free services in return were just as helpful. in a coffee shop, he could order his girlfriend the most expensive blend on the menu and still have money set aside for the month's rent.

when the barista called ben's name, he snapped back to focus, starting a bit before grinning and walking over to accept the two mugs. the young woman behind the bar winked and grinned at him and ben just smiled back in return. as he turned back to face the table, though, he froze for a moment. the first thing he noticed was the man crowding cicily in the booth. any sign of a smile or a friendly expression disappeared from his face immediately. walking closer, warm mugs still in hand, he was able to take in her own expression of discomfort and maybe even a little bit of fear. the final straw, though, was when the man grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him.

setting the cups down on the table hard enough to make a noise (and slosh a little out on the table), the man jumped before turning to face ben. after an initial moment of being caught off guard, the guy got a look of annoyance on his face. "what?" he snapped impatiently. "can't you see i'm trying to have a conversation here?" the stony look on ben's face didn't waiver as he glared down at the man in the booth. in his time living on the streets, ben had needed to develop an air of intimidation in order to keep himself from getting mugged every other day, and while he wasn't on the streets anymore, he could still conjure the look when he needed it. "you should get out of here, man," ben spoke evenly, his voice deceptively calm. "she's not interested." for a moment, the man looked like he might argue, but between ben's towering height and the look in his eyes, he apparently thought better of it. grumbling something under his breath, the man shuffled out of the seat before awkwardly squeezing by ben. ben didn't move a muscle until the man had disappeared out the door, and even then, it took his shoulders a second to relax.

"are you okay?" he asked cicily, sitting down on the same side of the booth as her and examining her face. it boiled him alive to think that some random punk had thought he could just come in here and touch her like she was an object to be taken. as he checked on her, ben's face softened and he sounded much calmer and collected than he had before. that version of himself wasn't his favorite to advertise by any means, but as long as she was okay, and she was here with him, he could turn it down and be himself. "sorry i took so long to get back. my hand brew coffee always takes longer." his voice was soft now as he stared down into her stunning green eyes, searching for any sign that she wasn't okay, or that he needed to go after that guy and beat him into a pulp. benjamin wilde would do anything for this girl, all she had to do was say the word.

cicily atherton

cicily grew up as a lady of leisure, rarely having to lift a finger to get what she wanted. having everything handed to her without her even having to ask caused a sort of social anxiety to form within her at a young age. she struggled to ask for things that she wanted, she was so used to simply taking them. she struggled to talk to strangers who simply wanted to have a friendly chat, she was used to walking past them and their open cameras. she struggled to stand up for herself in certain situations that made her feel small and vulnerable. being crowded in her own booth surely made her feel out of control, especially when things got physical. bodyguards used to swarm around cicily whenever she left her house, protecting her from people such as the man sitting next to her. now, she had no one to protect her.

except, that wasn't quiet true.

a startled noise escaped cissy when two mugs were placed on the tabletop forcefully. her eyes darted to her boyfriend towering over her and the stranger encroaching on their booth. ben was tall and scrawny, he didn't look like much. cissy knew better, however. he could be dangerous if he needed to be, though she knew him well enough that he'd try to avoid a confrontation. she stayed silent through the exchange between the two men, eyes lowered slightly to look at ben's shoulder. despite knowing his anger wasn't directed towards her, ben's intimidation towards others often had cissy lowering her eyes in a form of silent submission as he hashed out whatever it was upset or angered him.

she watched the man grumbled and slid out of the booth, her eyes following him all the way out the door. only when he was gone did she look up at her boyfriend, her smile bright and infectious. "i'm okay bunny," she assured, using her adapted form of his more common nickname, benny. she allowed him to check and make sure she was okay, offering the validation of her safety that he sought. she knew he was willing to do anything for those he loved, and cissy was more than flattered to be one of those few people. "you can never turn down helping a damsel in distress, hm?" she mused, her voice alight with humor, indirectly referencing their first meeting together. for a moment, her expression grew somber, her arm reaching out to rub ben's shoulder in what she hoped was a comforting measure. "really though, i'm okay. no marks, no damage. it's all good, yeah?" she leaned forwards and kissed his cheek lightly, her lips linger for a moment longer before she grabbed the mug that was hers, taking a sip from it. she hummed in delight, "perfect, like always."

her eyes grew wide with excitement as she took another large gulp from her drink and sat it down, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "oh, i bought a new top today, what do you think?" she pulled back her beige cardigan to show off the silk leopard-print top she wore underneath. "it came in blue too - which i almost bought - but i liked this one a little more. i had nothing to pair the blue one with anyways". she didn't mention that the one shirt was slightly over her spending budget. she'd already decided that she was going to try and pick up another shift at the coffee shop to try and cover the extra expenses she'd spent.

ic:
like a dog defending its territory, ben kept his eyes on the man until he was well out of sight. when he did turn back to her, his expression softened and he immediately started scanning her for any sign that she might be hurt. to some it might look possessive, but ben knew how she'd grown up, and more than that, he knew her. cissy wasn't one to defend herself, used to worrying about what the media would say about her and her family if she acted out. ben, on the other hand, had no problem stepping up and defending the defenseless, especially against sleezebags like that guy.

as cicily assured him that she was, in fact, okay, ben relaxed. leaning back comfortably in the booth, with his arm draped over the back of her seat, hesighed and allowed himself to smile softly back at her. "what can i say?" he teased back. "i'm a sucker for the damsel in distress." she kissed his cheek and he turned his head in and kissed her cheek back in response. "sorry that guy bothered you," he apologized again. "i should've been over here with you." luckily nothing had happened, this time, but ben still didn't like that the jerk had been so bold about the whole thing. as she continued smiling and talking, though, ben decided to drop it for now, and just smiled calmly back at her, hugging her against his side sweetly as she lifted her drink to her lips.

"glad you like it," ben said as she sipped on her drink some more. it had cost him nearly fifteen dollars for both of their drinks, something he'd never experienced before moving to new york. in most situations, he'd never spend that much money on something he could make himself, but she liked the coffee and he liked her. regardless of how much it cost, he would always do whatever he could to make her happy.

as cicily started gushing about the new clothes she'd bought, ben turned his full attention on her again. it was a nice shirt, and he had a feeling she would look really good in it later. she looked good in everything she wore, and seeing the smile on her face as she spoke, it was easier to not think about how much it might've cost. raising a brow as he looked down at the beautiful girl next to her, he smiled. "i'm glad you had a good day. what do you have planned for the rest of it?"
