Yes. Personally I'll be using my typing as more of a script to go off of. Type it first then say it and add the link

I'm thinking of having my voice sound choppy and all distorted xD
 
So... when we enter this world are we going to notice that it's animated or digital in texture?
 
Though some aspects of it may look quite digital it would mostly be realistic

I use something called mixcraft 5 to record my music that I write. It has vocal recording and editing options on it, though I'm not sure how extreme you can go with vocal editing. I'm sure you can do pitch, and maybe even some other effects, but I don't think anything you record would sound believable since the program is mainly meant for instruments...

You can try... The demo is free, but I have a hardcopy. My band/group/church used to use it, and we've since then upgraded to solely instrumental software. I used to toy with auto-tuning on it, for fun... ((Don't judge me))

I'll upload a sample of the recording of my voice if you like. I'm sure that'll be quite interesting... Lols xD
