"Oh, yes me and Mary shall be sharing-WHAT! N-No! Anything but that!" This was certainly going to be one hell of a year. At this point in time there was only one thing he could do. Pray the rooms would be split in two separate beds and split the room in halves. Lest hastily scrambled to open the door, before Mary could react, and shoved the key into the lock. He currently had the dexterity of an elephant, as fear had overtaken his body. The instant the door was unlocked, Lest was inside. Bunks... The dorms did not have enough beds, so some had bunks instead. Yet there was hope! The top bunk in their room was rather close to the ceiling. Perhaps if he hid up their quickly, she would not find him. Given his past experience, he did not find this unbelievable. Half climbing, and half clawing, Lest scaled the bed, and hid in the top bunk. He felt so childish, but it was all worth everything if he could avoid his new roommate. She was trying to kill him. He sat in utter silence, as he observed the door from the top.

--------------------------------------------------

Everyone gathered to hug Hiroki. Yukiko did not understand why? Being squeezed like that, ususally led to oozing for her. It almost seemed like they were entranced, and yet Yukiko seemed almost unaffected. She felt slightly left out though. After the hug, everyone was taken to the dorm room, there she met her roommate. When Sarah grabbed her hand, she felt at... Home. Not like home where she was with Kenji, but like she belonged. Yukiko smiled and look at her Roommate.

"Yes... Lets see our room..."

Sherin put on a cold guise as she took the key from the annoyingly happy red head. In her haste to get away from the noise flooding the hall, she failed to notice that she only took one of the two envelops handed to her, leaving the second room key in the hands of the boy. It didn't matter, in fact what the others were doing were the things that were farthest from her mind. One by one as quickly as she could, she loaded all of her bags into the room and slammed the door behind her, locking it with a click.

With the door closed where no one could hear here, Sherin squealed with excitement! Her room mate hadn't shown up! She must have done something amazing in one of her past lives to deserve a boon of this caliber. Sherin was alone, huzzah! No annoying room mates asking her about things, talking to her, touching her things or bringing their friends over. Just sweet solitude!

The room was perfect too! It was like a miracle. There were two twin sized beds with two writing desks laying on the wall opposite to them. There was more than enough room for two beings to live comfortably, and she got it all to herself, what a score! The first thing she checked out were the closets. Folded neatly at the bottom of the first one was a traditional futon and a few extra pillows. The closets themselves were typical, there was enough room to hang her clothes with some leftover. She figured she'd only use one of them. The best part of her room though was the window. The window was in the -perfect- position to let in the morning sun!

Dumping all her books on one of the tables, she turned and did a gleeful leap into the bed closest to the window and just lay there for a while, a serene smiled painted upon her face. She was happy. 'This is so much... better than I had envisioned...'

... Or so she thought. Her moment of peace was short lived as she heard scampering from the next room. The wall separating her from her neighbors were paper thin! Still in bed, her fist clenched in frustration as the smile dropped from her face... If these neighbors were the noisy type, rest assured there would be problems.

Sapphire followed the group to their dorms staying quiet her shyness taking over as the others seemed to be preoccupied with other things. Hearing that she was rooming with someone name Homura she smiles taking her envelop from Hikori and thanks him, excited to find out what her new roommate would be like. Sense they wernt here she assumed they were already in the room, hopefully not late. As she goes to the room Hiroki pointed out she hesitates wondering if she should knock first in case they were in there. Deciding it was best to be polite she knocks on the door lightly before unlocking the door and opening it to see a boy with black hair and earmuffs on. She found it odd to be wearing earmuffs indoors but she smiles brightly at him waving "Hey there I guess im your new roommate. My name is Sapphire its nice to meet you" she walks inside and holds out her hand for him to shake.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Soteria followed behind Sapphire not wanting to attract anymore attention to herself than she already had, she felt oddly calm even though she was going to a school full of monsters....For monsters....But she always did have a think of mythology and fantasy so this was quite interesting for her. As Hiroki addressed the group and pointed out each room and who would be rooming with whom she frowned slightly at the person she was suppose to room with - Tess? Who was that? Was that the grey haired girl Hikori had to stop and drag to the dorms? Sense that was the only person in the group she didnt know the name of she assumed it was her. Soteria didnt know what to make of the girl, she seemed nice enough though a bit odd.
Smiling politely Soteria takes the envelop from Hikori thanking him before walking to the room he pointed out. She unlocks the door and steps inside, seeing nobody else inside her feeling of the grey haired girl being Tess increases. Sighing softly she walks to the bed on the right side and sits on the end waiting for her roommate to enter, still trying to absorb the recent events. And the day wasnt even over yet...Ugh.
...Well, at least his soon-to-be roommate had the decency to knock before entering the room, so there was that; judging by the ruckus outside, not everyone was capable of this. Homura hoped that Sapphire, as the girl introduced herself, kept this habit, even though he knew that this room was going to be hers just as much as it was his.
"I'm Homura," he answered, taking Sapphire's hand. "Let me guess, you're curious about why I wear these easrmuffs. Everyone is. Put simply, it's to limit my powers. So don't touch them."
During this entire scene, neither his face nor his voice showed even the slightest bit of emotion.
-----------------------------------------
"Well, then what are we waiting for!," Sarah chirped, practically dragging Yukiko along behind her as she unlocked and entered their room.
...Which, honestly, was not worth all this enthousiasm in the slightest. Sure, it didn't look as unnatural and creepy -- to humans, at least -- as the outside of the school, but it didn't look special in any way, shape or form either. Well, whatever, at least it had a faucet, which was one of the most important things any room could have as far as Sarah cared. No doubt she would use it a lot. Aside from that, the room was equipped with the same things any and evry dorm room ever had; closets, a window and beds. Given, they were bunk beds, but that wasn't anything Sarah minded one way or another.
Sapphire shakes his hand her grip strong but gentle. Blinking somewhat surprised at his words she smiles. "Oh okay, Ill be sure not to do that then. Nice to meet you Homura, so have you been here long?" Her voice is friendly and upbeat as she makes her way to her bed sitting on the edge of it and stretching her arms above her head. She was curious of what Homura was but didnt feel it was polite to ask especially having just met him. She tucks a lock of dark blue hair behind her ear looking up at Homura.
"No," the Satori replied, still in utter monotone. "This is my first day. We were on the same bus, even. I just kept walking while you stayed outside. In terms of time,I haven't been here all that long either. " As apathetic as he felt, Homura knew that he should probably ask some questions to his room-mate too, if for no other reason than to at least feign interest. After all, they were going to be together for the rest of the year, assuming nothing special happened. "What happened outside? I didn't see you at the Assembly, which means that it took long. That means that it was likely important; why else miss introduction....?"
Mary happily pranced along with the group as they made their way to the dorms. This was where true bonding occurred, at least that's what Mary's research had taught her. As they reached their living quarters, Hiroki handed out pieces of paper folded together. Mary stared at it for a moment, unsure of how this piece of paper would help them in any way. There was only her name and room number on it. She watched Lest to see how it worked, and nodded when she saw him remove the key from the envelop. "Ooooooooooooh." She notice Lest seemed frantic for some reason, but she merely shrugged it off. He was probably just tired. It had been an eventful morning after all.
Lest rushed into the room and Mary soon followed. She closed the door behind her and looked around. The beds were stacked on each other, a familiar formation to Mary. She noticed Lest was already in his bed, under the covers, and she cocked her head. "You be sleepy by now Less? But you not be changing yet! We be needing to get comfortable. We be needing to transform into our BJs." And with that, it appeared like Mary was lifting up her blazer and shirt, almost exposing her chest to Lest. However, right before her shirt got too far, she spun around and shouted her catchphrase. "Pluto Prism Power!" Mary's naked silhouette appeared to flash rainbow colors as she spun around. First a long-sleeved flannel shirt flashed into existence, then a pair of pants to match. A pair of slipper formed onto Mary's feet, and lastly her hair swirled up and poofed into a ponytail. As Mary landed on the ground, she struck a pose, her right hand up at her forehead with her fingers in a piece sign while her other hand rested on her hips. Mary let out a light sigh. All of that just to change. Earth beings are so weird. At any moment an enemy could have killed me. Mary eventually shrugged at the idea. It was an Earth custom, at least for women in this country, and she didn't was to stand out too much. The alien plopped onto the nearby chair and looked up at Lest. "So now we be playing Fact or Challenge, yes?" It was a common game to play when rooming with someone after all.
Hiroki smirked as he heard the light knock on the door. The redhead could feel the desperation behind the noises. Murasame was shaping up to be the perfect toy, just as Hiroki had expected. However, Hiroki would have to be careful. Playing too much was what led his other roommates to ditch him, which is why the third-year was roomed with a first year. Hiroki weighed his options, and finally decided to have a bit more fun. He placed his envelope down on the desk before sinking back into the shadows. A small black circle came out from under the door and blended with the black mass that was Murasame's shadow. His shadow shifted and though no features could be seen, it had easily taken the shape of the little boy. It also held onto a black rectangle, which looked very similar to the envelop Murasame saw earlier. "I wonder how important this key is to you? Maybe you might be open for some trading? I do very much like popsicles. Those would definitely be something worth trading. Until I have a delicious stick in my mouth, I'll just have to hold onto this for you." A creepy chuckle came from the black figure on the ground before it reformed into Murasame's actual shadow.[/hr]
Murasame jumped backwards as the shadowy mass darted back out from under the door. As quickly as he emerged, Hiroki had already merged himself with Murasame's shadow. He was by no means an expert on magic or... whatever Hiroki was doing, but he had a feeling that the boy was going to be there for a while. Murasame uncomfortably shuffled his feet as his own shadow morphed into the boy's figure. As enjoyable as stepping on the boy would be, he wasn't exactly keen on risking what might happen if there were any possibility of stepping in him. There wasn't much he could do as he listened to the boy's demands. Murasame ran over a few scenarios in his head in an effort to find a way out. He could try to make a break for it and hope that whatever holding Hiroki to his shadow would break, but sprinting down the hall away from one's own shadow would draw some unfavorable attention. He wanted to shout at him, but yelling at a shadow seemed equally unfavorable.
Having to take orders from his own shadow? What the hell was this about?! Mursame breathed a defeated sigh. And "a delicious stick" in his mouth? He couldn't shake the feeling that the choice of words was quite intentional. 'There's no getting away from this kid now is there...?' He really didn't enjoy being messed with like this. But maybe this was just some weird hazing like humans do in their schools. If that were the case then once the red head had his fun everything would stop. Right?
"Tsk. Popsicles huh? Alright I'll bite..." He grumbled as he made his way out of the hall. He made sure there wasn't anybody around to hear him conversing with his own shadow. There was still a problem. Murasame had no idea where the hell to even start on this errand. "Oraa... You're gonna need to give me a hand with this. I mean, if you're gonna have me playing fetch, you're gonna have to throw me a bone ya know?" Murasame instantly regretted saying it like that. Letting the kid believe that he was some animal being leashed around? Probably not a good idea. He already looked foolish enough talking to himself as it was.
"Erm. S-scratch that... Is there some student shop on campus or something?" If there was a store this task couldn't take too long. Unfortunately, Murasame failed to realize that he had left the little money he had was in his bag. The bag he had since forgotten on the bus...
Tess' first reaction upon receiving her envelope was to quickly fish out the key inside and pop it into her mouth. How considerate, snacks! she thought to herself, happily chewing the small object. It was good, but not nearly enough to stop the rumbling in her stomach. Her mind drifted back to the luscious sound of those bells from earlier. She would have to hunt for them later, but for now there was plenty of other potential meals to sample. Many had already gone into their respective rooms, save the boy with the sword, who had unfortunately been locked out by the red devil. Tess was very glad she was not rooming with him. She moved to her door, and sniffed the doorknob. Brass! It was a nice tasting metal, not as fattening as gold or silver, but still had a similar taste. Without thinking she casually transformed her forearm into a blade and sliced a half-moon shape around the doorknob. She then pulled the doorknob out of the door and pushed the door open. Casually, she entered the room picking bits of wood out of the mechanism. Waving at Soteria, she happily munched on the doorknob as she walked towards her new roommate.
She was about to eat the other half of the doorknob when she realized that she was being rude, stuffing herself while her roommate was not eating at all. Reluctantly, she pulled the half-dissolved doorknob out of her mouth and placed it in her rommmate's hands. "You can have the rest if you want, don't worry about me I'll just get another one! It's nice of the school to place so many tasty snacks around, isn't it? So feel free to dig in!" Tess then bounded out of the room and went to slice herself another doorknob.
She returned quickly, beaming and contentedly chewing on a second brass doorknob.
"Anyhoo," she continued between bites, "I'm Tess, nice to meetcha roomie! Um....my hobbies are...eating things, finding out what different things taste like, and savoring the taste of my favorite things to eat! If you want I can give you a glass of nitrogen to go with the brass! It's really cold and makes the metal all nice and crunchy!" Her eyes glinted with excitement, and she eagerly pulled what resembled a steel science beaker filled with a steaming liquid out of her refrigerator. The steam billowed over the edge of the beaker-like cup and pooled on the floor near Tess' feet. "Gotta make up your mind fast, roomie. It'll all evaporate soon! Er...can I call you that? Or should I call you something else?"
"No, no nononononnoon...Oh..." Lest had been horrified as she was about to remove her top, however she soon did... Something... It did not really surprise him no. However the perfect opportunity arose as she asked about fact or challenge. What scared him was the fact that he knew what she was taking about. "Yes... Yes! Lets play... Fact or... Challenge... You will go first. Fact or challenge?" This is my only chance at obtaining some time away from her... Lets hope she plays this out...
Soteria eyes widen in surprise as she was handed a half eaten door knob from the girl that was just "munching" on it....Ooookkkaaayy that wasnt weird at all. She smiles politely at her roommate not wanting to be rude. As she comes back in eating another door knob, I wonder where that one came from...I guess somebody isnt gonna be happy once they look at their door. Soteria hands her the half eaten knob "Thats okay I dont eat metal, thank you though thats very generous of you. Its nice to meet you Tess im Soteria. Those are uh....Some interesting uh hobbies you got there" Her voice is slightly nervous but friendly. When Tess pulls out a beaker full of some not too nice looking liquid Soteria quickly backs up gulping, jeeze what hell was this girl? Shes gonna kill me! Trying to keep her cool she shakes her head smiling faintly. "Ahh uh no thank you...Im uh allergic to that uh stuff....Hey you know I think I forgot something downstairs, Ill uh be right back." As she says this she inches toward the door subtly, she quickly waves bye to Tess before dashing out the door. Running down the hall she sees Murasame looking quite peeved, but hey he at least seemed more or less normal than her roommate. She suddenly tackle hugs him from behind avoiding getting poked in the eye by his sword. "Murasame! Can I come with you? Wherever your going I dont care" Her voice is a bit panicked.
Sapphire's smile fell slightly but she kept a small one on still determined to be polite and friendly, this was gonna be her roommate for the school year so better to try and make friends. "Oh....Sorry I was pretty distracted....I didnt mean to exclude or ignore you though Homura im sorry" She gives a slight bow of apology before laying back on her bed staring up at the ceiling. She was a bit surprised by his sudden question, maybe he was more interested than she thought with making friends. "Umm well we kinda got stuck at the bus stop due to another new student, Soteria falling from the cliff edge. But Sarah saved her in time so nothing bad happened. Then the person that was suppose to guide us was late, I believe his name was Tenma. Then another boy- Hitori joined, he was suppose to escort us to assembly but by that time it had ended so we just came here instead. Thats at least roughly what happened. What about you? Anything interesting happen at the introduction?" Her voice is thoughtful and friendly.
Murasame waited a few moments expecting an answer. It really didn't surprise him when there was no reply. If Hiroki only cared about sweets it would have been faster to get them himself. As it was, he was probably more interested in the show, and that was assuming Hiroki himself was in fact still present. Being unfamiliar with the school, not knowing where he was supposed to go and unsure if Hiroki was still with him. The whole situation just seemed set up to frustrate Murasame.
"So. How many people have you done this to? No answer huh... Are you listening me? I know you're there. Y-You are there. Right?" He asked his shadow in vain. He felt beyond stupid, talking to his shadow which might be another person. "Fine... I'll find it myself. But can you at least let me know if you're here or no-"
He was interrupted as somebody tackled him from behind causing him to crash down face first on his shadow. He wasn't hurt but being pressed up against what could be Hiroki didn't seem like a good idea."W-What the hell?!" He spluttered as attempted to get out from underneath his assailant. It was that girl who fell off the cliff. "Jeeze Soteria! Come with me? I can't go anywhere till you get off me!" He said as his own panicked voice matched hers.
"YYou don't need to apologize, Sapphire," Homura responded flatly, neither dismissive nor amused. "I mostly prefer to be on my own anyway. Too many people who're judgmental towards others, even when they're not actively speaking out their thoughts, both amongst humankind and demonkind. If you know where to look, you don't need to hear words to know how someone feels." ...Maybe that was a bit too much information? Then again, it wasn't like the things he said could only be explained by his own powers. It might as well be his own feelings about others. Besides, unless Sapphire was a walking encyclopedia or had the power to read minds herself, it wasn't exactly as if she could guess what Homura was.
As Soteria started her her explanation about what happened, the satori tried to make as much mental notes as possible. Apparently Sarah was capable of flight of some kind? Or maybe she had some kind of telekinetic powers. Soteria was either clumsy or suicidal. Tenma had a problem following time schedules for whatever reason, or was far more busy than anyone should be. As for Hitori, Homura didn't have enough to go by yet.
Now, did anything noteworthy happened during assembly? Well, it was a demon school, so bizarre things are to be expected, which technically would make it noteworthy if nothing bizarre happened, but... "As far as things happening at the assembly goes; Honestly, I can't really say it did. A good chunk of students seemed to be more interested in messing with eachother than actually paying attention to what the teachers said though. Oh, that reminds me: Don't use the bathroom closest to the assembly room. I... overheard someone talking about it, and not in a good way."
Technically speaking, 'overhead someone talking' was not the most accurate description of what happened, but why bother going into details when you simpler terms convey the same message?
"Backing up a bit: I am interested in how this Soteria managed to fell off the cliff -- or why she thought it was a good idea, if it wasn't an accident. And how exactly did Sarah save her? Can she fly or something?"
Tess' face fell as her roommate rebuffed her refreshments. "Doesn't eat metal...what a sad existence." Someone who could never enjoy the dull tang of brass, the sharp taste of freshly polished steel, especially when lightly peppered with some rust for that extra spice. The thought was almost enough to drive Tess to tears. And to top it off, she was allergic to nitrogen. Wait, but isn't nitrogen one of the main components of the air around us? Oh I get it, she nodded to herself sagely, her body must not be able to digest nitrogen, but her respiratory system can deal with it. Well, her parents did say that Youkai Academy was home to all kinds of creatures, so she decided not to take it too personally. "Well on the bright side it means I don't have to share!" She grabbed the half-eaten doorknob and swallowed it whole, washing it down with the glass of nitrogen.
Content for the moment she decided to gaze upon the grounds of the Academy, sipping some more of her nitrogen like tea. "This place is awesome, so many people to meet and things to eat!" Tess started digging through her stuff and placing her belongings around the room. Most were various metallic objects with multiple bite marks on them, some smaller, some larger. But the most curious of the items she had brought with her were a rusty lockbox, which Tess quickly hid under her bed, and a sparkly make-up box she set on her nightstand. It contained a handful of precious stones of various sizes and types, and a label which read, 'For a new look. Love, Your Family.'
Satisfied with the arrangement of her things, which had no regard for Soteria's personal space, she wondered if Soteria had anything she wanted displayed in the room. So she cleared a small area by the other girl's nightstand and bed, Maybe she'll appreciate that! Tess felt sorry that she couldn't share any of her delicious metals with the girl, and thought that by giving her an area of the room to decorate as she saw fit would be a nice gesture.
Soteria blushs lightly before quickly scrambling to get off of Murasame obviously embarrassed. "Ahh im sorry! I just got a bit uh...Excited? Anyways where are you going? Would it be okay if I joined you?" Her voice is a bit rushed and hopeful. She quickly stands up holding out a hand to help Murasame back up, once or if he takes it she then brushes off her clothes with a sheepish look. Her emerald eyes nervous almost panicked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sapphire frowns slightly at Homura's words, "Well I hope to prove to you that im not like that, I dont judge others until I get to know them. Even at that I dont like to, its unfair and not nice" Her voice is determined. She sits up tilting her head slightly at his odd explanation and question, her dark blue silky hair falling to the side slightly, her eyes curious. "The bathroom huh? Ill be sure to keep that in mind, thank you Homura-san. Well I think it was a accident, she was backing up and must of not realized how close she was to the edge so she slipped and fell. No Sarah kinda manipulated the water to save her, it seems shes a monster that has something to do with water though im not really sure what." Her voice is grateful at first but ends somewhat thoughtful.
