She accepted his greeting and shook his hand, a little surprised at how large it was compared to hers. "Actually this is my second year here. I wasn't sure about you actually, that's why I asked." Despite his appearance he seemed to be a good guy. He certainly did make her feel tiny though. "So you're part of the newer crowd, huh? How good is your magic? She felt it was a little rude but she just had to know. He stuck out far too much and she was honestly interested. Was it a subtle magic like a mental ability or something devastating like her own? Curiosity killed the cat, but she wasn't a cat so ask away!

Silver stood there watching as everything went down. The one boy who looked familiar to her seemed to be stronger than he looked, which almost didn't surprise Silver. She didn't really enjoy watching them fight, but at the same time she couldn't not watch. As she watched the boy, something struck her as odd and she felt a chill run up her spine. A man's deep voice echoed in her head, whispering, "That's him." Silver felt her stomach drop at the voice, knowing exactly what it was. That was him? That's the boy she was looking for? Silver took a deep breath as her skin turned a bit pale from the sudden news. She didn't expect to find him this early on, nor did she really want to. She took a step back, still staring at him with a rather uneasy face. It seemed his name was Enzo. She almost forgot Cid was still there. Turning to see him, she tried to smile. "So, um. Training, right? Shall we?" Before she let him respond, she started walking towards the training room, which was now very close.

Second year, eh? She'd probably be cool peoples to hang with..."I'm a new guy on campus, just took my placement test earlier though. I scored an 8000/6100, if that's an indicator of how good I am...I'm not super experienced with magic. Family bloodline is elemental mage, lightning and ice. I can do a few spells for fighting and defense, but I prefer to use my powers for amplification of objects. Swords and firearms to be exact...actually the reason why I'm here now, I was going to head into town to look for a magic shop...see about getting a new sword for practicing." As he released the handshake, and looked down at her hand compared to his...he was somewhat surprised at the size.
I guess I really am the big guy around here...what's that place Dad was talking about, where I'd be considered normal size...Samoa or something...
Damn...hope she doesn't think I'm some kind of giant. Last thing I need to do is intimidate her accidentally. He went and put his right hand into his vest pocket, deciding to lean against the gate and relax a bit, just to seem more casual.
"So what's your story?"

Cid Akatsuka
Cid was just part of the crowd watching the whole deal quickly rev up only to be extinguished quickly, this Enzo kid seemed to change Cid's mind again. But Cid wondered if he would be able to match the boy with that form, he was taken from his thoughts whenever Silver who had also seemed preoccupied with the fight turned to him, she was acting a little off but Cid decided not to delve into it, he liked to respect people's privacy.

"Yeah, Let's go." Cid replied nonchalantly nodding at her before they turned and started walking to the clearly visible training center. After about two minutes they arrived slipping inside there was a platform in the center for duels and matches so Cid took one of the sides, looking up at Silver as he drew his blade. "So should we use magic or just a good old fashioned duel?" Cid asked shaking his hands a little to loosen it up for either case.

Lightening and ice? That sounds cool! And he got such a high score on the test too? I wonder how it works... Sonya folded her arms and stepped back a bit, still smiling in a friendly manner. He was so tall... She had to keep from blurting out some random height comment or joke so she clenched her teeth until she felt composed enough to say something half way intelligent. "My story? Haha... Well, I don't have any bloodline traits that I know of. I was an orphan, blah blah blah. I only know somewhere in my family someone had magical abilities because I got 'em. It's cool that you can use weapons. I'm too clumsy for anything, really." She laughed aloud. Somehow this whole thing turned out funny: from his unbelievable height to her clumsiness to him amplifying objects. "Oh! I can amplify things too! Well, not really things, it's like... Um... I don't really know how to explain it without getting a little confused myself so look!" She held out her hand that held the end of her headphones jack. There was no player, no insertion, just her hand and the music that suddenly got louder. "It's a little to explain, but I manipulate sound waves, frequencies, amplify them and what not. My headphones are running off of a song I remember hearing last week. I use them for channeling my magic sometimes."

Seeing as how the fight ended with no clear winner, the crowd started to disperse, and go about their own way.

So far, Voli had seemed like he had the intellect of a teacher, and if he hadn't told Enzo his history, he might have thought he WAS a teacher. Still, Enzo was relieved to find that Voli wasn't as mindless as Red's followers. In that moment, he remembered that his uniform was torn, and that he was in worse shape than he thought. Any pressure to his left leg, and he would feel jolts of pain, due to his stab wound.

Red laughed at Voli's teasing attempt. He respected the graduate enough not to instantly take him up on that challenge. "Don't tempt me."

"It only strengthens my mind manipulation abilities." The Headmaster countered with a joke. He continued to read his notes, and finished by writing something on the bottom. After that, he slid off his expensive glasses and placed his attention on the other man. "What brings you?"

Silver went to her place on the opposite side of the platform, taking a deep breath before turning to Cid as he spoke. She shook her head as her hands crossed to the opposite sides and drew her blades slowly, to savor the lovely sound they make when she takes them out. "I don't think it would be fair to use my magic on you. Plus, I don't want to scar you for life." She was still curious of his magic, but that could wait until after their little duel. She examined her blades quickly, seeing them shine in the light could put a smile on her face like nothing else. She had polished and sharpened them up before putting them away last time, and they were still in top condition. Bouncing a little on her toes to get used to the feel of the platform, she nodded to herself and took a stance, holding one sword out in front of her, while the other was being held next to her side and backwards, as if to protect the arm that was holding it. She winked as she was ready for Cid to make a move. "Good old fashioned duel would be best, yes?"

Cid Akatsuka
Cid grinned at the remark, Silver making him wonder if he would be capable of handling magic like hers in the future. He stretched slightly, popping his shoulders before he took his usual stance, his legs spread and both of his hands holding gripping tightly the handle of his blade. He glanced at his sword as Silver checked his, the light bounced off of its cold metal surface, and its edge looking quite deadly. He wasn't too sure just what her sword-play style was so this ought to be an interesting experience.

"Good. I won't be going easy on you though." Cid called out to her, still grinning. But now wasn't the time for talk. Before she could reply or perfect her stance more Cid sprinted towards her, his blade moving towards his side as he closed in on the distance, when he felt the time was right he unleashed a strong upwards slash followed by a cleaving blow propelled by a slight push of his heel, seeing if Silver could possibly parry him.

The tutor had taken a candy from out of a glass jar set on the corner of Boone's desk, the only space not overtaken by papers or other tools used around his office. "Aah, this all wasn't my idea really. It was Voli's. He wanted to see some of the new faces of Sorcerers this year so he came around knocking seeing what he could see. I don't think I'd leave too much of a nostalgic impact on the new kids, so I decided to go ahead and meet with my old co-workers and you while Voli went off to enjoy himself with the kiddies. Since he left he's been going on about how much he missed it here. He's still broken up about losing his first mission, y'know... I can sometimes see the guilt on his face whenever I train him and it reflects his progress in a number of varied ways. Some days he's out of it, and others he's all determined and causing all hell. Since he's been feeling down about it lately I decided to do him a justice and escort him here to get some closure. He said he's see the students and visit the hall of the deceased down below and pay some respects. But, that's my story out the way. Things don't seem to be too much different for you, Ivan. Have you ever gotten any further with those... "Alumni Rings" yet?" The tutor had asked.

Back in the gymnasium, Voli was busy abiding his time with teasing Red. He turned his attention back to Enzo and his battle damaged form. Voli was no healer so he couldn't help much in helping him recover, but he had a few bandages handy. He always had some on him since he often injures himself during his training while being clumsy or simply careless. He dug into his second pocket and pulled out a few, some even dropped onto the polished floors. "That should hopefully help with the wound. You know, you remind me of an old friend... Classmate, team member... He had a bit of an affinity with pyromancy and was quite the brawler himself. Not sure what it is that's bringing this memory out but you fit the bill almost. Red also tormented him while he was here before he passed. But ah well... So Kenji, what's the new year of students looking like? The surge of manna this year is incredible. Possibly the highest I've felt in Sorcerers."

Jacen took notice of the music getting louder and felt the rhythm, nodding his head to the beat.
So that's what she does...that's actually pretty cool. "Sound amplification and manipulation...now that's cool."
Here's a shot...let's hope I don't screw it up. "So, I was wondering if you aren't too busy...would you like to head into town with me? I wanted to see what else this place has to offer, it'd be nice to have someone to walk with. And, I don't think I caught your name either."
Jacen took his glasses off, figuring that she was a friendly person and there was no need to hide his ice blues.
I'm at a magic school...I don't actually need these anymore. Guess I'm "free to embrace myself now" or something.

Sonya smiled at his reaction. "Thanks! Well, I never need to worry about an iPod though I do have one of those too..." She closed her hand and looked up at him. Though he was still pretty intimidating, he wasn't a bad guy and he had given her no reason to be afraid of him. "Oh no... I didn't introduce myself did I? What a ditz- I'm Sonya! Sonya Takeru." A fun, upbeat song started to play. The pleasures of theme music. "Yeah, I wouldn't mind going with you since we're both heading that way." She watched him take off his glasses and smiled again. "I got my theme music playing- Ashita Genki ni Naare- so let's go!" She thrust a fist into the air and started off.

Silver grinned and stood her ground as Cid charged at her, the grip on her swords tightening a bit. Seeing his sword coming up at her, she would have frowned if she had the time to. Blocking would be foolish on her part, considering the speed and power behind such a swing. Instead of trying to block, she sidestepped, barely missing the blade. As she stepped to the side, she spun around a once to gain a bit of power, and swung her sword horizontally at Cid's midsection. She kept her other sword at her side, ready for anything.

Cid Akatsuka
Cid focused on keeping track of her movements, as she slyly side stepped into a counter-attack, Cid let his right hand take his blade, parrying her blow as fast as possible causing a loud metal-clink to ring throughout the air. The blow shook his sword arm a little but just as Silver outmatched his speed, he outmatched her in raw strength. He took his left hand placing his palm on the middle of the blade, using his strength to push her blade arm upwards but quickly taking two paces backwards, just in case Silver would retaliate with her second blade.

"Not bad." Cid commented, smiling before taking a defensive position this time around, now it was her turn to strike first.

Sonya...nice name too. He smiled as she started off down the road, music blasting and arms pumping.
She's definitely energetic... Jacen flipped his hat backwards and walked after her, laughing in his head.
So that's what it is to finally talk to someone without them writing you off...feels pretty damn good.
I think...I might actually enjoy my time here.

"So, you're a big guy. That must be hard sometimes, right? I don't mean to be rude or anything! You're definently the tallest person I've ever met. Do you know if that has any affect on your magic since you use lightening and ice, right? Again, I don't mean to be rude." She turned around and walked backwards facing him. Surely by then she had a few recordings of his voice tone and usual speech pattern. Sonya twirled her headphone jack between her fingers as she walked backwards. There was no real worry about walking into anything because as she stepped the vibrations would disperse when they hit something so she would know where everything was. She lowered the frequency just a bit so that it would be easier to hear while they were talking.

And very straightforward...but that's fine with me. "Not at all, I appreciate your enthusiasm! It can be hard at times...like back in my younger days, everyone always expects you to be good at sports, mean, always out to get into fights, yadda yadda. I have to say, I do kind of like it when people typecast me and get surprised. I was one of the higher scoring students in my old schools academically...despite being built like this, I'm actually a pretty big nerd most of the time. As far as magic goes, I never really noticed...I'm actually quicker than I look, just from natural ability. Having a latent ability that lies in lightning doesn't hurt either...I use it to move even faster when I have to, usually leaves people dumbfounded. With ice, it's not really an issue either..." He chuckled to himself, remembering the time that he had tried out for football.
Wait...did she say I'm the tallest person she's EVER met? Average height must be 5 something where she's from.
"So am I really the tallest person you've ever met? I'm only 6'1...maybe 6'2, because of my shoes..." He glanced down at his sneakers, noting their high base...no doubt for sport use.

Silver also took a couple steps back as he pushed her blade back, and couldn't help but smile as he took a defensive position. She shook off her right hand a bit, seeing as the block from his sword was a bit more powerful than what she expected. Nothing too bad, though. Easy to shake off. Silver switched the position of the blade in her left hand that was originally guarding her arm, and charged at him, switching the blade in her right hand to the same position the other was in while she got closer. As she got within range, she swung horizontally to the right with her right blade, and kept her left at her side again with her elbow bent a bit, as if she was ready to thrust it forward.

She nodded every now and then to let him know she was listening. She casually side stepped to avoid bumping into a a passerby. Wow, I couldn't' imagine going through all of that by myself. He must be pretty strong even just as a person. "A nerd, huh? That's a nice surprise. I would have said something along the lines of lone wolf or one of those kinds who wear the dark makeup. Being fast must come in handy, especially considering how long your leg are. Definitely the tallest person I've seen. Most people around here are around 5'6" maybe a foot or two taller. I'm only 5'3", for future reference. That's about the norm as far as I'm concerned."
Sonya turned around and set herself so that she walked next to him. She looked up at him. "I think that it probably would have an effect on your magic to some extent, seeing as both do naturally occur in the sky and you do kind of have an upper hand and all..." An 'upper hand'? Really? I'm gonna have insulted the guy before we even get to the store... "S-So what are you looking to buy from the magic shop?"

Boone listened to the progress the private tutor and Voli had over the years. Honestly, Boone never thought a kid like him would make it very far into the world, but he obviously proved Boone wrong. The tutor had asked about those 'rings' the headmaster was searching for, and his eyes lowered a little to think about it. "Let's see, I contacted the Magic Council on the matter. They want the rings to themselves once they're found. I sent out a team to look for them, but so far, there's no evidence. They may reside in the Gaze, that is, if their owners passed away." The atmosphere had turned to a sorrow state quite quickly. Though not everyone realized it, but the Guardians of Magic once went to Sorcerers, back when it was a new school, and overlooked. The headmaster had been quick to grow attached to them, and the fear of their ultimate end plagued him. He knew very well what that meant if the strongest magicians to have ever lived had died all at once.

Boone closed his eyes for a moment, and wiped his hands over his face before looking back up to the tutor. "We need to find those rings, quickly."

Enzo gladly took the bandages Voli had given him. He's not such a bad guy after all. Enzo thought, as he began wrapping the bandages around his torso and left leg. He'd probably have to go to the infirmary anyway. The nurses there used healing magic, and that was always better than waiting for wounds to naturally heal. He listened to Voli talk about his old friend. Enzo felt a strange similarity to that person, as if he had known him before. "I don't blame you for having those memories, he sounded like a cool guy." He responded. After that, the attention was on Kenji. "The students this year? I'd say they're eager, but they all have a long way to go if I were to train him. I've stuck with Enzo here for quite a while, and only now did he finally understand his potential." "..."

An upper hand in the sky...but my powers are internal-maybe it's just best to answer her second question...yeah, that works.
"I'm actually looking to get a sword so I can practice with it...my primary weapon is a custom handgun, but I didn't bring that with me. I saw a few people use swords in their tests, so I figure it's time for me to get my skills back." Jacen looked down at her, finally taking in just how short she was compared to him.
5'3 huh...almost as tall as Mom and Lissette...I should probably call them when I get back to the campus. Dad too, I gotta get the rest of my weapons/lab stuff shipped here. Magic chainsaws, swords, bombs...a few ID locked guns and some tools shouldn't be an issue. "Outside of that, I might grab some incense or herbs."
