" Mutants. Since the discovery of their existence, they have been regarded with fear, suspicion, often hatred. Across the planet, debate rages. Are mutants the next link in the evolutionary chain or simply a new species of humanity fighting for their share of the world? Either way, it is a historical fact: Sharing the world has never been humanity's defining attribute." ~ Professor Charles Xavier
Mutant-Human relations are at an awkward and delicate position. After a massive battle between Professor Xavier's X-Men and the Mutant Terrorist Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, the relationship between humans and mutants are the best they've ever been. Not that that's saying much.
A peace treaty was formed between Magneto and many countries of the world. Trask Industries' Sentinal Program was shut down, and the Island of Genosha was founded by Magneto and recognized as a sovereign nation by the United Nations. In return, the Mutant Brotherhood ceased its attacks on government facilities around the world. Everyone was grateful for the reprieve, no matter how short it would be.
Two years have passed and now the treaty is nearing its breaking point. The U.S. Government has funded the research for an X-gene "Cure", and word is they are dangerously close to finding one. What's more, other mutant terrorist groups have taken it upon themselves to liberate their fellow mutants from oppression, costing any amount of lives in the process. Many protest mutants en masse and popular opinion are that the Sentinel Program should be reinstated. This, along with the rise of several anti-mutant groups has roused the fear of Magneto's wrath and the subsequent breaking of the treaty.
Our story will begin in Lower Manhattan, New York. Thousands are gathered around the Benetech Labs headquarters, anxious to hear the announcement about the mutant cure. Many are hopeful to erase the X-gene that has torn apart their families, others hope to stop it before it shows, and others still are there to protest this event. How did your characters get there? Why are they there? Do they seek the cure for themselves, or are they wholly against it? The outcome of this day will shape the future itself.
So! Let's talk characters! It's a small group RP :D and we're all friends, and I trust everyone not to go too crazy and make a mutant capable of large scale reality warping or anything like that! That being said, please, go nuts! Make characters with wacky, crazy, zany powers! As crazy as you please! My only request is that psychic abilities are avoided, as they're pretty complicated to play with and can leave you feeling unfulfilled with the roleplay!
As far as a character sheet, there isn't one! At least not a form, anyway! All I really want is like... name, a face claim (or description, no biggie!), and a description of their abilities! Personality is optional, and History/Background doesn't have to be detailed if you don't want it to be! It's all pretty loose. I should also remind people that, as far as abilities go, there are things such as a second or even third mutation that can advance one's abilities further, change the physical appearance, etc. That can be explored too!

thanks for the tag spekkun, much love smh

Name: Vander Valenti
Alias: Ooze Lord
Mutation: Can alter the body of animals into a proto-plasmic ooze substance, either completely or partially. This allows them to, among other things, shrink and expand their body, fit through tiny gaps, survive indefinitely underwater, nullify kinetic and ballistic energy, and absorb sustenance via 'protosynthesis'. Often uses this ability on his trusty Gerberian Shepsky, Flubby.
Appearance: Basically this, but, you know, a 'real' person.
Background: Unlucky Dungeons & Dragons nerd who got ran out of home after turning his dog into a goddamn ooze. Dropped out of Xavier's because not enough of the students were into tabletop games. Likes to play not-an-X-Man-superhero sometimes to live out his Chaotic Good fantasies.

Name:
Erin d'Arc

Age:
18 years old

Appearance:

Erin
Erin is short and fragile looking young man. His eyes are chocolate brown and hair a matching color that slightly curls (even more when it gets wet). He's skinny and pale, some would even find it a feat that his small body is able to carry him about. He has a pair of small pure white angel wings protruding from his back, and while he cannot hide them well, he sometimes tries without the help of a coat. Above his head floats a small golden halo. He has no control over it and it lights up in the dark, but usually, he hides it in his coat's pocket or a backpack as the halo cannot be too far away from him.

Powers:
Transferal Healing
Flight
Death Sight

Transferal Healing:
+ Erin is able to take the wounds or sicknesses of any living being around himself onto himself and healing the other part in the process.
+ Due to this, he is also able to heal faster than normal people. An injury which would take a week for a normal human to heal will only take one day for him.
- This includes mortal injuries. In theory, he could resurrect someone at the cost of his own life.
- Erin possesses little control over these powers and sometimes he takes wounds or small sicknesses from anyone getting injured around himself.
+ Erin is able to give people around him more years to live.
- Though in order to do so, he needs to exchange his own years. He does not know this hitch.
-Whenever he does this, he becomes sick for a couple of days. Symptoms vary from intense cold symptoms to being unable to walk.

Flight:
+ With the small angel wings from his back he is able to lift himself and one other person into the air. He is a very good flyer, while admittedly not very fast, he does know how to fly even with someone else.
- His wings are small and cannot carry himself very far up in the air without struggling and bringing one more person with him is physically exhausting. It makes him way slower and only able to fly up half as high in comparison to if he flew alone.

Death Sight:
+ He can look at someone and see how long they have left to live.
- This is a rough estimate at the time and can change in the span of a minute. If someone was about to die due to getting hit by a car, Erin could only tell they'd be dead one minute before that accident. Before then, said person might have had several years to live.

Do they want "The Cure"? Why/Why not?:
Erin holds no wish in "curing" himself of his powers. In his strict opinion, his powers are one of the better ones and he has been given them for the purpose of helping those around him. While he blames no one for wishing to cure themselves, especially the ones with more destructive (whether it be physically or mentally) powers, but he likes his own powers too much to wish to get rid of them.

Brief background:
Due to his parent's strong dislike of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Erin never enrolled there. What he has control over now is what he taught himself through consistent practice and the help of his parents. While his parents do not care too much about mutants and humans, they are strongly opposed to Erin calling himself one and sometimes even refer to him as "an angel".

Open, just ask! :D <3

Name: Ethan (Iggy) Shimura

Age: 19

Appearance:
[ETHAN] [IGGY]
Ethan is a well put together mess while also appearing both vulnerable and strong, but not weak. No, Ethan has a decent build, being slightly skinny but more or less wiry. He has clear muscle definition, it's just hidden underneath all of his clothes that he buries himself in to hide his usually unnatural temperature. The one thing he can’t hide is his height, however. Ethan is very tall, standing about six feet and one inch with long legs to make that height of his that much more obvious. His skin is pale, it looks even paler due to his fine ink-black hair, and would otherwise be flawless if it wasn’t for the interference of the dark circles that sometimes are around his eyes or the faded scars here and there. The most distinguishable feature is his eyes, while his right eye is bright icy blue, his left is dark maroonish brown. You usually can tell who’s Iggy and who’s Ethan by looks alone, Ethan likes to hide away in his clothes and dress casually, and Iggy is on that Gucci, flaunting his good looks and style. He also has piercings.

Personality: It is important to understand that Ethan and Iggy are two very different people -- er personalities. If you ever call them by the other prepare for a cold shoulder from Ethan and a punch to the face by Iggy. Who is the real one? Ethan, of course. Ethan is a quiet boy who typically keeps to himself and many would call an edgelord because he’s oh so dark and sarcastic and grumpy. When the truth is if you really talk to him, you will find that he is much too soft to be an edgelord and simply doesn’t know how to let others in. He’s bad with compliments and affection and company in general. The boy is quite awkward and clearly socially inept. Only when he becomes comfortable will he become more talkative and warmer to people and less shy. He’s quite a nice guy.

Then there is Iggy. He is loud, chaotic, daring, temperamental and a troublemaker. Most people are terribly afraid of him, as they should. He is drawn to chaos and violence and is the lesser sane one of personalities. His morals do not align with the average human beings or even Ethan’s for that matter. Killing and hurting people comes easy to him. Many would assume that he’s a complete monster and there’s nothing good about him. They would be wrong, just because his morals don’t align with the average human beings or even Ethan, does not make him all bad. He’s not evil, he just does whatever he wants. You’ll find that despite his madness, he’s extremely loyal which can also backfire as he is also extremely protective and will do just about anything for the ones he loves even if they don’t like it. And he does not lie, he hates liars and people who break promises. But he does enjoy harmless pranks and jokes. Oh, he has all the temperature puns. And unlike Ethan, he is very warm and forthcoming and not at all shy. Of course, he does bite if he doesn’t like or trust you. But if you hurt Ethan he will be planning your doom. The thing is, though he is impulsive, hot-headed and kind of crazy, Iggy has a childish innocence to him as he has not been out in the world much nor interacted with many others except to hurt them.

Powers:
Thermal Manipulation (Fire and Ice manipulation)
Fear Inducement

Thermal Manipulation
+ Ethan is able to create, shape and manipulate temperature, a form of kinetic energy between particles at the atomic or molecular level: the greater the movement of these particles, the greater the thermal energy and reversed.
- Temperatures do not affect Ethan like they do others. He can survive extreme heat and cold just fine, it doesn’t bother him, but his body does take on the temperature so he can feel extremely cold or extremely hot.
- Temperatures aren’t the only thing that doesn’t affect him the same, because of his weird nervous system, he is unable to feel pain either. Therefore, he is able to tell he is injured or sick unless it’s clearly obvious.
- His powers fluctuate with his mood. He does not have a great grip on himself, so depending on how his emotions are influenced or even if he’s unconscious or reckless and impulsive, his abilities will activate and potentially destructive and catastrophic.
- Only Iggy can use the heat and only Ethan can use the cold. Only when the two are balanced is he able to use both at once.

+ Ethan can create, shape and manipulate ice, water frozen into a solid state and appears naturally in forms of snow, slush, hail, icicles, ice spikes and candles, glaciers, pack ice, frost, and polar ice caps, and cold.
- Ice is affected by everything that normal ice would be.
- He can only use this power when he is in control of his body.

+ Ethan does have the ability to create, shape and manipulate fire, the rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products, flame being the visible portion of the fire.
+ Depending on the substances alight, and any impurities outside, the color of the flame and the fire's intensity will be different.
- While Ethan does have the ability to manipulate fire, he has yet to learn to do it as himself. The one who is really in control of this power is his more chaotic personality, Iggy.
- It can be overpowered with just enough water and ice.

Fear Inducement:
+ Ethan evoke and increase fear and horror in others causing the target’s brain to release fear-inducing chemicals. The target’s perception may be altered, causing them to see their environment as ominous and the user as dark and foreboding, or even seen as a monster.
- Like his other powers, this too is not something he has complete control over. When he becomes angry with a person and they look him in the eyes, it activates.
- Iggy, is the one who uses this power and is actually the one who has complete control over it just like he mostly mastered his flames.
- The power only works if you look at his eyes and only then are you trapped in fear.

Do they want "The Cure"? Why/Why not?:
Ethan does want the cure. As for Iggy, not so much, because it may mean his disappearance. All Ethan's powers have ever done was hurt people and make them ill, including himself. He believes in it for himself and others who want it too. Iggy would rather it be completely destroyed, people are idiots, being a mutant is just part of one's identity and if you get rid of that then they become more unnatural than what people believe they currently are, or so he thinks.

Background: For the early years of his life, Ethan was raised on a farm in the countryside of Japan. It was a small place where everyone knew everyone and nothing bad or strange ever happened. So you can imagine the turmoil and horror that occurred when young Ethan’s powers kicked in. It only started out as ice manipulation, they assumed. That was enough for everyone to turn on him, including his parents. What made it worse was the power his eyes held. The treatment he gathered worsened with time and finally when they decided to do something about him was when his other personality came along with the last piece to his powers, it was created as a defense mechanism. The whole town was burned down with very little survivors. His grandmother, who lived in the states, covered the incident up and took him home. He was enrolled in Xavier’s school for only a short while, the kids still feared him too much and he so he dropped out only after getting a little better control of his powers.

Relationships: !!Open for anything ^^. Dm me!!

Extra:
> Hot tea is very calming for him, but Iggy prefers bubble tea.
> The name Iggy is short for Ignite.

Name:
Jessica (don't do it, she hates it) "Jessie/Jess"

Age:
21 years old

Appearance:
Jessie & How her eyes look when opened
Jessie is an average tall lady that's visibly well-trained but not very muscular. Her sky blue eyes are always covered by a black blindfold that's somewhat hidden under her short silvery-white hair. Usually, she wears sweaters that are a little bit too large and gloves, though she prefers without, and she can never be seen carrying one of those canes for the blind because she refuses, despite the fact that she cannot see blindfolded.

Powers:
Affinity
True Sight

Affinity:
+ Jessie has the ability to gain the affinity of anything she touches and sees. Through touch and sight, she tunes herself to whatever she wishes and gains their affinity. This includes objects, people and animals.
+ She is able to "store" on attunement in her head for 24 hours which she can use again, at will, during that time period without having to touch nor see it.
- She holds absolute no control over this power and therefore has chosen to live her life as a blind person. Through denying herself sight, she does not attune to anything without knowing it.
- Jessie can only attune to one thing at a time.
- If whatever she attuned to would hurt her (like touching fire, cutting herself or electricity) then the injury will not exist until she is no longer attuned, but it will appear immediately after which she will experience to be twice as painful.
- Jessie can only stay attuned to anything for up to 30 minutes.
- Even if she closes her eyes or walks away from her attunement, she stays attuned. The only way to break her attunement would be to attune to something else or wait the time out. She can tell when she is no longer attuned to anything.

Affinity to objects:
+ When attuning to an object Jessie can either control said object (and only that object), know how to use it or chose to attune to whatever the item is made out of. She stays attuned for up to 30 minutes.
- Whatever damage the object suffered while Jessie stayed attuned to it is given to her instead. If she were to attune to a cup and said cup broke, then the cup will not be broken, but instead, her hand will be covered in small bruises as if she crushed it in her hand.

Affinity to an animal:
+ Attuning to an animal will give her the main affinity of the animal. A cat would make her more dexterous while a bird allows her to fly, and so on. When attuning to an animal, she gains a few their characteristics and turns beyond human. Like a cat would give her slitted eyes, whiskers, ears and a tail, a bird would give her the wings. She cannot stay attuned for longer than 30 minutes.
- Like when attuning to an object, Jessie gains whatever injury the animal she attuned to would suffer as long as she stays attuned.

Affinity to a person:
+ Jessie can attune to a person and gain their abilities, be it whether or not they hold any of their own powers. If she attunes to a doctor, she will know all of their expertise for the 30 minutes she can stay attuned. If they do have powers, she can use their powers as if she was them, keeping all their upsides and downsides.
- Whoever she attunes herself to, should they sustain any injuries or pain, Jessie receives those instead as long as they stay attuned. She also gains some of their characteristics, like their hair color and eye color as long as she stays attuned.

True Sight:
+ Jessie is able to see things that most people cannot, such as music, people talking or the air. It does not include the undead or anything/anyone who turned invisible.
- She cannot turn it on or off, if she opens her eyes and looks around she will see everything.

Do they want "The Cure"? Why/Why not?:
Jessie wants the cure, but fears taking it. What if she attuned to it when it went in her body? Or what would the cure even do? In her opinion, she found her cure by denying herself sight. However, if there ever was a day where she could get rid of her powers in a safe and guaranteed manner, she holds no hesitation that she would take that opportunity.

Brief background:
Jessie had a normal childhood until she hit the age of eight years old. That is when her powers awoke and her eyes no longer held the normal sky blue color they always had. They started showing off weird glyph-like patterns in it and the girl herself started to act weird. The little girl would do things kids her age would never be able to do, use words that were far beyond her vocabulary, but even stranger, she would sometimes look like other people or make some things float. This weirded her parents out to the greatest, and when they finally understood that their child was beyond a human, Jessie's life never became the same.

Gone was her kind parents, replaced with monsters that would punish her through harsh hits and even harsher words. They never helped her control it and neither did they seek for anyone who could help her learn. It took several years of abuse for Jessie to understand how they worked, and a couple of more before she decided to run away from home.

Now, she lives with a friend while pretending to be blind. Does her parent miss her? Did they look for her? She does not know, and frankly, she does not care. Whatever monster they thought she was, they were worse, and she only ran away from demons dressed in her parents' appearance.

  • Bucket of Rainbows
Reactions: MaryGold
Name: Jianyu Wu

Age: 20 years of age

Appearance: BirdMan Incoming!

Abilities:

Avian Physiology
: Jianyu's X-gene has mutated his body in such a way that he's is similar to that of a bird in both appearance and biology. His bones are hollow, his body processes food far more efficiently than the human body does and doesn't store excess fat, granting him greater muscle mass. All of his abilities stem from this one fact.

  • Superhuman Physicals: Because his biology is more bird than human, Jianyu's strength, endurance, reflexes, stamina, and even his senses. He's capable of lifting several tons and exerting himself at peak capacity for several hours. While he can still be harmed by conventional means as a normal human would, his body allows him to survive the rigors of high altitude, high velocity and is especially resistant to strong impacts.

  • Wings: Jianyu possesses two natural wings on his back with a wingspan of eighteen feet from wingtip to wingtip. With these wings, he's capable of flight, and thanks to his physiology, he can fly very far and quite fast. He can beat them hard enough to create gusts of wind strong enough to blow a man off his feet.

  • Talons: Jianyu possesses sharp talons on his "hands and feet" that allow him to shred through materials, including thin metals.

Weaknesses:

Jiangyu has to eat a lot. He eats on an energy in/energy out basis due to his body's inability to store fat. When he is unable to satisfy his need for fuel, he becomes weak and lethargic.

History:
Born to a family of practicing Buddhists, the moment Jianyu was born it was obvious he wasn't human. His face was far more birdlike than it was human, and instead of hair, he had feathers. His parents were disturbed by his appearance, but they did not resent him for it, and instead, he found himself living exclusively indoors during his early childhood with television being his only window into the world. He grew up a caged bird, so to speak.

By the age of 5, the boy had seemingly lost what little traces of humanity he had in his appearance left, except for walking on two legs. His body was nearly completely covered in feathers, he'd grown a tail and sprouted large wings from his back that refused to hide. It was no longer possible to pass him off as a regular human, but his parents no longer saw a reason to. Their son wasn't a freak or a monster but a gift from the divine, a blessing from the bird deity Peng. From then on, Jiangyu went from being caged in his home bearing the pressure of being some sort of "sacred creature", leading to his cage growing ever smaller.

The moment Jianyu was able to find an escape, he took it without hesitation. He loved his parents, but he also wished to live and to be free. When news of the cure reached him, he wasn't quite sure if he wanted it, but the option had enticed him at least somewhat, leading to him heading to New York.

Name/Nickname: Alexandra (Alex) Wilde / The Game Master (GM)
Age: 17
Gender: Female, but gets altered by her avatars
Appearance: Alex Wilde on an average day

Personality: Alex is a gaming nerd. She enjoys emersing herself into the various fantasy worlds of video games. She loves exploring new characters and do things she can't do or bring herself to do in real life. Mostly into RPG games of epic fantasy, whether that was sci-fi, high fantasy or just your plain old Pokemon, Alex finds it easier to open up and make friends through a screen than face to face. She is just too shy to be the first one to approach a stranger and make friends, but she is actually pretty outgoing and excited whenever someone does accept her in their group. But she is also easy to discourage if she feels not wanted anymore and so she always returns to her video games and her gaming buddies from through the screen.

The GM is an upgraded version of Alex, a higher level if you wish. Tho still an outgoing and excited young woman, Alex was shown a lot of pain and cruelty after her mutation kicked in and was forced to grow up and out of her shy shell. She learned to be more confident, perhaps even risking, and look out for herself, though it was partially due to her being able to slip into her gaming avatars and look at life as if it was just another game. As a result of all this, Alex no longer has anything to keep her back. If provoked she will show no mercy, but she is no sadist. She won't go out of her way to hurt you, unless you have tried to exorcise her. She doesn't usually hold grudges, but when she does they last long and hard.

History: Alex was always a shy kid, a quiet and cautious girl that liked to live adventures through the safety of reading a book or playing a game. Video games were an instant love for her and her first friends, persons she felt she could be outgoing and truly say what she felt and be her geeky self were from MMORPGs. At school, friends were scarce mostly because of how shy she was. The other kids were picking up on that and they either tried to bully her or just didn't bother. Those who did make an effort to bring Alex into their group eventually moved on without her or just didn't invite her as often, which discouraged Alex and made her seep back into her gaming habbits. Habbits that eventually brought her a desire to be a pro-player and possibly design her own game, make a start-up and create her own world for adventures for people like her.

Growing up in a strict and religious household didn't do much to boost Alex's self confidence and the games had always been a point of conflict between her and her parents. It was during one particularly bad conflict that she slipped into her first avatar, a Sith Lord she had made from SWTOR, when her father was throwing all her CDs and cartridges in a trashbag that she decided to fight back. The sight of the devil-like creature, the deep voice and the red eyes led her parents to believe she was possessed.

They tried many things to 'cure' her and bring her back to the light. One of those things was an exorcism, back when they still weren't aware that this was some form of the X-gene. It hadn't been a pleasant experience for anyone involved in it and the first of many grudges that Alex would hold with fierce hatred.

In the four years following her abilities activation, Alex has had to grow more indifferent of the world around her as a defense mechanism. She would slip deeper and deeper into her games, her grades would fall, her parents would yell and try to discipline her. It was a vicious cycle. Until they took her to the greatest announcement of the ages. There was a cure that could help them! Alex wasn't thrilled. Without her powers, she couldn't defend her sanity, without powers she couldn't find friends. She was scared.

Abilities: The ability to bring her gaming avatars to life, but not as some minion or summoning, but as a 'suit' she wears herself. She becomes her avatar, acquiring their powers, weaknesses and personality traits. She can also choose to materialize items from her inventory at any given time and potentially keep it as such for an unlimited amount of time.

Besides the obvious risk of losing her identity if she stays in her chosen avatar for too long, which is higher as the days go by or if she experiences very strong emotions that make her relate very much with the chosen avatar, her control over the Avatar's powers and her fluency in the execution of the 'game' depends heavily on how much time she has put into the actual game and how much she remembers the character and gameplay at that given point in time. She has played so many games with so many different characters that it's hard to remember everyone perfectly.

When it comes to the actual power of the Avatar, it goes without saying that the higher the level and stats, the more powerful the avatar is. As for the items she materializes in the real world, unless she actively wields them back into their digital origin, they are forever lost to her in-game avatar as she discovered when she kept her Sith lightsaber with her. Unless she plays the game to replenish her inventory or to buy new items, repair them or upgrade them, there is no other way to acquire them in the real world or in the game. So in order to keep her powers sharp and ever strengthening them, she needs to actively play the respective video game with the respective character, which poses a risk of being exposed to the goverment through her accounts.

Name:
Lily

Age:
17 years old

Appearance:
Lily

Lily isn't very tall, standing at 5'2 (160 cm) and very light. She wears shabby or dirty clothes, as she is a street cat, and can almost never be seen walking in the streets but rather navigating around the town through the many alleyways or rooftops. Her body isn't strong but it is very agile and quick. Her left eye is green while the right is blue and slit. A pair of orange ears are perked on top of her head along with a long orange tail. Her cheeks have marks that resemble whiskers, it is as human as she can make herself.

As a cat, she is a long-haired orange tabby cat. She has white socks on all of her paws. Her fur got darker shades of orange alongside a white spot on her chest and around her nose and mouth. She is a full-grown cat.

Powers:
Cat physiology/Cat Shapeshifting
Communicate with Cats
Enhancement Manipulation

Cat Physiology/Cat Shapeshifting:
+ Though Lily isn't able to turn into a complete human she can turn into a complete cat at will. Should she not wish to turn completely into a cat she can choose to gain something smaller like claws, fangs or whiskers.

Communicate with Cats:
+ Lily is able to talk to cats as if she was talking to anyone else, in fact, she would be able to hold a better conversation with a cat than she would a human.

Enhancement Manipulation:
+ Lily can manipulate her own and other's ability to do something to be better or worse. This ability can increase someone's speed, strength, vision and so on up to five times for herself and three times for others for ten minutes at most.
+ She is able to keep two abilities enhanced at the same time. This counts for someone else, so one for herself and another one for someone else is entirely possible, but not two for both.
+ She is also able to decrease it as well. It can only decrease it to half of what they are able to do normally and it only lasts five minutes.
- While Lily is very used to her own enhancements, it doesn't always work the way she wants it. She is unable to control herself if she enhances anything beyond thrice what she would usually have. This effect is the same for others who she enhances, such as someone running twice as fast as normal or being twice as strong.
- Using her abilities is tiresome and she can only keep it up for a total of two hours a day total. One hour is exhausting, pushing it to two hours will make her pass out for several days.
- Her body still feels as exhausted as if they had done something normally. Therefore, running three times faster than normally would make her just as tired as if she usually ran at that speed. If she hits or kicks something with added strength, then her body will sustain the same impact. This also includes other people.

Do they want "The Cure"? Why?/Why not?:
Lily doesn't care too much. A part of her wants it to become a fully-fledged cat that she was meant to be, but a different part of her doesn't mind having both a human and cat form. This way, she can reach the door easier!

Brief Background:
Lily was born as something a little bit more than human from the very beginning. Her biological human parents left her out on the street in a box where her adoptive parents, a pair of stray cats, would take care of her. They fed her and taught her how to survive on the streets and it was even easier when Lily wasn't able to control her powers enough to keep staying human and would shift in between being human or a kitten. Her parents taught her how to live on the street but also somewhat blend in with the humans should she not be as small as a little kitten and have thumbs. The clothes she eventually found was something she stole, which is her main source of food, and she always makes sure to bring some to her mama and papa!

Due to her being a stray, humans haven't become one of her favorite race. In fact, she somewhat fears them due to a couple of incidents she had as a kitten before she knew any better. She knows how to mostly act human, but her basic knowledge such as reading and writing are non-existent alongside human etiquette. Her words are minimal and difficult words are hard for her to say and understand.

Name: Naomi Brooks

Age: 18

Appearance:
[NAOMI]
Average in size and beautiful in appearance, and despite this, she knows how to disappear and not be seen when she wants. Naomi is a good size, maybe a little skinny, being petite and slender. Most people would say she's a stick, ignoring whatever small curves or healthy features she has. It's her tall height of 5'8 that makes her skinnier looking than she is. Her skin is a warm and natural shade, almost honey, though not flawless. But it matches her light brown eyes with flecks of gray. Her hair is naturally dark brown but she dyes it numerous times. And this time around it's dark pink. She wears it down, hiding her numerous ear piercings.

Personality: Mysterious, quiet and dangerous. Or at least, that's the energy she gives off from a distance. Some kind of femme fatale. Truth be told, she remains quiet to observe things before entering an interaction. Naomi is actually daring and adventurous, she's just not loud about it. Her type of trouble is calculated and thoughtful. She has a heart as warm and strongly beating as anyone else, and it's worn on her sleeve. Because one will find that's she's very expressive once they meet her. But having a heart as vulnerable as hers also has come to make her rather merciless and very unforgiving in some situations. But she always tries to use her head over her heart.

Powers:
Blood Manipulation

Blood Manipulation
+ Naomi can shape and manipulate blood of herself, others or from her surroundings, whether it be from blood-banks, hospitals, or battlefields.
- She is unable to create blood, being limited to manipulating only from already existing sources.
- She may bleed to death by drawing too much blood. And she has to draw blood, cutting, biting, for external applications.
+ Blood Consumption: She can absorb (usually by ingesting) the blood of others for either sustenance, offensive, defensive, or regenerative purposes.
- If the target's blood contains something she is vulnerable, they are essentially ingesting it directly.
- Depending on the blood properties, it be beneficial or lethal.
+ Blood Marionette: She can use blood to control the motor functions of others against their will as if they were a marionette.
- Useless against anything without blood.
- She may damage her victim's cardiovascular system to the point of death if she isn't careful.
+ Prehensible Blood: She can use blood to hold/manipulate objects like a limb, to attack opponents, to burrow into objects or living objects to usurp coordination.
- This blood cannot produce it has to be drawn from others or herself and a lot of it or it won't be as useful.
+ Blood Solidification: She can solidify or give solid-like properties to blood with the level of solidity going from loose jelly to metal-like hardness or beyond.
- The change is temporary and short-lived.
+ Haemokinetic Constructs: She can turn blood into tools, objects, weapons, and other items, create semi-living constructs and/or create structures/buildings of varying permanence.
- Using too much blood may be lethal.
- She is limited on how complicated constructs they can create (ie. no/limited amount of moving parts).
+ Manipulating her own blood, she can increase the flow to get better strength, speed, stamina, and regeneration. Manipulating other's blood, she can kill them in numerous ways and cause them to fall unconscious by reversing the blood flow.
- Manipulating her own blood has caused problems, she quite frankly always needs blood donations. And sometimes the effects of manipulating other's blood is irreversible.

Do they want "The Cure"? Why/Why not?:
Naomi doesn't want the cure, she has known about her powers and liked them for as long as she could remember. They are a part of who she is and she doesn't want that taken away from her. So she's against the cure for herself and thinks anyone else who wants it is stupid. They're falling into a trap, that the people who hate mutants like her, made. Her parents on the other love the idea and are forcing her into it the best chance they get.

Background: Naomi was born as a miracle child to her parents. They had gone through three miscarriages before finally having their daughter. Their happiness was shortlived when she started showing powers as a kindergartener. And her powers were gruesome and creepy to make it worse. They loved her, but they made it clear they didn't want her to show them to anyone. After all, it was freaky to other mutant children too ... She was fourteen when she was admitted into Xavier's school, it made her grow to love herself, but her parents pulled her out two years later and she was living in a bad environment again. She became the problem child. And when her parents heard about the cure, they were ready to jump aboard while Namoi literally protested against it.
