Would a Star Wars RP work?

Is there some prohibition on Star Wars that I don't know about? Either I don't know how to use the search function, or I can't find a single thread or RP that mentions it. I'm thinking about making an RP set somewhere pre-Old Republic, but I want to make sure I'm not stepping on a landmine first.
 
Not at all! Make one!

We've had plenty of them in the past. Just not any running at the moment.
