Worlds Collide

Our story begins in the land of the Elves, Dragons, Dwarves, and Fae magic that permeates everything, that world we call the Fantasy Realm. An elven seer spoke in a sonorous voice, "There be many strange powers at work. In a world of evil and sin, a man of ill passions opens evil passage. He shall cause great wars and the destruction of the realm that now we see. Be warned, People of the Forest, Be Warned!" That was over thirty centuries ago, and few have ever seen the writings that the listening scribe had copied.

Now, a dragon-elf Hybrid, Michael "Dragon-Singer" N'Draco walked along a path of stone, when strange magic pulled him from his home into a strange world. He fell onto a haystack in a barn and fainted.

Aiden Farris was certain that his hair was standing on end for some reason. And the fact that the dogs on his land were acting very strangely, made it all the more weird. Try as he might, he could not come up with a reason for this feeling. It was as if power was seeping into the fabric of the planet, a power that was just too massive to understand.

He polished his Katanas, and kept a watch on the forest's edge.

'Now's the time...'

Faryl was in hiding, waiting for the moment she would be transported to another realm. She observed her surroundings quietly, a mask upon her face that enhanced her ability to see in this blackness. This was her land, her home... Always covered by a gray shroud, the sky always a deep purple with twinkles. She had to tell her parents and her children farewell before departing for this mission. She was promising them an extended empire where she hoped to finally settle down and get to know her four beautiful children. Perhaps, settle for a man permanently as well.

She looked beside her where a shrine honouring Lolth was on the ground. It was crawling with spiders and had offerings from this morning's prayers in the portion that was supposed to be a fountain. Her lips twitched into a smile while she gazed upon it, her head bowing respectfully to the shrine.

'I was meant for this job, great Goddess.

It was foretold that their world would merge with another... In some form, anyway. When she found her connection, it was too perfect of an opportunity to pass up. She would finally be meeting him! In a flash, she found her reality was bending into many shapes and colours, her form being carried through a vortex. She was dropped on to the roof of a sky scraper where she knelt down to take in the environment slowly and recover from the journey.

Zack was at work, finishing his shift as quickly as he could. He filled up some paperwork while he talked a customer through a sale with a cell phone. This job was miserable... It got the bills paid, though. He never minded spending a lot of time in front of a computer, but the constant phone calls and writing weren't entertaining at all.

His heart felt like it skipped a beat after he hung up the phone, chills spreading throughout his limbs. He was hearing those whispers in his skull again... Thankfully, he was finishing up here at work. He couldn't afford any distractions while he was here. With the economy so wrecked, where else would he work?

'Zaaaack...'

Now the voices knew his name. This was just perfect... He had to be going absolutely insane to be hearing this.

Aiden fished his phone out. Maybe Zach would have a thought on this strange feeling. He dialed the number and waited on the answer.

Michael awoke, his senses reeling. What the hell had just happened? Oh, well. I'll just deal. He climbed down from the haystack and walked out of the barn, only to see that some weird lights were shining in the sky. He recognized the signs of a portal and on the other side, his homeworld, slowly destroying itself. He wept.

A man in his twenties stood before the screen as it displayed a multilayer image of the world map. Slowly, small red dots began to appear all over the map and an alarm sounded. Jason turned his attention to a graph with a line that was mostly horizontal, yet slowly rising until at one point it quickly shoots up. Intersecting the graph were three straight horizontal lines. The first colored gray, was crossing the graph with a blue dot just above it. Higher up, there was a green line. After that, a red line that intersected the graph at the point where it abruptly went vertical. Jason looked back at the main screen and smiled lightly.

"It's beginning…"

Just after he spoke, a garbled sound could be heard and was drawing closer. A figure entered the room with a portable stereo in hand. The stereo was playing a song called, 'Behind blue eyes' by a band called 'The Who'. Jason quickly turned around to face the individual. With a distressed extrusion Jason asked, "How the hell did you even find that song?"

Obsidian removed his hood and let out a laugh. "But it's about you! It fits you so perfectly!" He started to laugh again. Jason, very much unamused, reached for his gun and quickly shot the stereo. "I hate the song…" Obsidian let out an "Aww", but got over it quickly enough. "So I take it the merger has begun?"

Jason turned back to the main screen, Obsidian stood beside him. "Yes, we've just exceeded neutrality. Now mass from your world is slowly seeping into this one."</m:defjc></m:rmargin></m:lmargin></m:dispdef></m:smallfrac>

It's Starting. The spirit was not very happy, but still he made sure that his will was done. He'd chosen the group that he was now bringing together, and he knew that these people could do all that was necessary. It's starting, and it will continue until the world of magic has fully merged with that of the Humans.

The Drow on the skyscraper was watching the city below, her red eyes wide with amazement at the unfamiliar scenes. Cars, sidewalks, stoplights... Also lots and lots of humans. This area seemed plenty big to build her empire! Rescuing her family from the realm's destruction was very important, even to the Goddess herself.

She kept herself hidden for the time being and located where she believed to be Zack's bedroom. The window was open a crack, which she used to her advantage... She pushed it up farther and swung herself inside, laying herself down on to his bed where she waited for him.

Meanwhile...

Zack was driving back to his apartment from work, his eyes heavy with boredom and misery. He was so thankful that he had no classes the next day, however he did have some homework to do. He expected to finish it tonight so he could spend the rest of the day relaxing.

To his dismay, there would be no relaxation or homework session. When he unlocked the apartment door and turned on his lights, he walked eagerly into his bedroom. He put his name tag down on his desk and pulled his cell phone out of his pocket. It was vibrating and flashing Aiden's name.

"Hi, Aiden."

He smiled when he answered; at least he had one friend in this crazy world. His smile faded as he turned around, a pang in his chest as he threw his back to the wall when he saw a woman with dark skin laying on his bed. She smiled seductively and waved to him.

"I-I-I... AIDEN! OH GOD. What is going on!?"

He was basically screaming into his phone and ran out of his room, slamming the door and hiding behind the couch in his living room.

Faeryl was giggling with amusement when Zack ran out afraid of her. She had no idea what an 'Aiden' was or what a phone was but she was intelligent enough to assume it was a communication device.

She began to send calm brain waves to her beloved human friend that would be in her partnership whether he liked it or not. She could feel his mind calming as he came to realize she was the one speaking to him all this time. She heard Zack tell Aiden on the phone,

"Aiden, can I meet you somewhere um..private?"

Aiden had heard the scream, and immediately jumped on his motor bike and headed for the two-lane road. "Head for the deserted hangar. I'm on my way there now!" he yelled into the phone and hung up.

Things were crazy. The road was covered with animals running every which way, and they were being spooked by his bike. He revved the engine and beeped the horn. Chaos seemed to rein. As he rode, a sudden lurch of the road itself caused a hill to be where it had not before. Aiden yelled, but mounted and climbed it, then practically flew down the other side.

He stopped at the door of the Hangar to wait on his friend.

Michael saw Zack's exit and could detect a Drow in the vicinity, and recognized that mind as Faeryl. With his mind he called, What are you doing, Faeryl-lass? Are you scaring another mortal? He was certain that her chaotic nature would torment someone. Michael also caught the mental pattern of someone who meant the world to him even if he had not met that person before. He left the vicinity and followed that pattern. What would be, would be.

Vincent tossed and turned on the futon he called home, too awake to sleep, too sleepy to do anything else. Disgruntled by his inability to sleep, he sat up and rubbed his red eyes and stared at the heavily curtained window, the only one in his room where he has stayed for so long. The strong and artificial light of the streetpost just outside his window seeped through the thick curtains, assuring Vincent that it was still night, or at least, very early in the morning.

He stood up and went to the door, and began unlocking the three sets of locks he had placed on it. Before actually opening the door, he peeked at the one-way peephole to make sure no one's outside. Only when he was assured that there was no one out there did he open the door slightly, revealing a tray of food that was left just outside the door. Vincent took the tray of food and quickly closed the door.

Faramond took a break from walking and decided to rest underneath a huge tree just beside the country road he was travelling upon. Smiling and grinning, he patted his bag where he could still feel the warmth of the fresh bread and meat that has been given to him just this afternoon. Faramond counted this day as one of his luckier ones, not only did he make much money out of his performance in a country feast, he was also given some of the food the villagers were feasting on. One of the villagers even asked Faramond to stay with them for a night, but Faramond politely declined the offer.

He placed his guitar gently on the soft grass and laid down a thick blanket in which he sat down upon. Faramond made himself comfortable on the blanket and stared at the sun setting over the village he had just left. The villagers seemed to have been in the process of lighting up a big bonfire in the middle of their town square. Some travellers on the road are going down towards that little village in a mountain valley to join the celebrations, some even calling out to Faramond to join them, to which he simply smiled back.

"Something tells me something is going to happen somewhere and I have to be there", he reasoned out to himself as he began eating.

"Gah!" Vincent spat out as he put the tray back out the door, "Yeah right, something is going to happen alright, but I doubt it has something to do with me."

Vincent closed the door, three locks and all, and went back to the futon where he began looking around for something to do. Finding none of interest, he laid down on the futon, only to find a notebook underneath his pillows. It was his so-called 'adventure notebook', a notebook he hasn't used for a long time. Vincent opened it and began reading the entries.

Faramond stood up and yanked the blanket up so as to remove any bread crumbs that managed to fall into the blanket, and then put it back on the grass. Looking at the now brightly-lit town, Faramond felt a sharp pang of lonliness and regret, that he should have taken up on the townspeople kind offer and stayed there for at least one more day. However, he felt that he shouldn't waste any more time, he has already been travelling for so long, and yet he still wasn't able to find what he was looking for. He felt time was running out.

Smiling at the big bonfire down the slopes, Faramond began lighting a small bonfire of his own. He prepared the bonfire in the same way as he had always done, and that brought him memories from his travels... Even from the very first day of his travels.

Before he realized it, Faramond began to reminisce, looking back at his travels, reliving those days when he simply set off to travel, without a destination, encountering fantastic creatures along the way, some friendly, some not so friendly. Faramond reminisced on and on, until he fell asleep.

'I'm not meaning to frighten him, but it's damn funny.' she said back to Michael, wondering why he was even speaking to her.

She knew a select few could communicate with some humans through mind links, but she didn't know that meant people from her world were linked as well. Faeryl was following Zack, even though he was running away from her. She removed her mask and put it beneath her cloak where her scantily clad body was hiding. This environment already felt like a home to her... People running a muck in the city because they were scared of things that looked different from them. All she really needed to do was eliminate them all and started making changes.

'Our family will be reunited soon...' she thought to herself.

Zack could her her last thought. A family? What did she mean? All he knew is that was her motive for being here. He knew he was being followed but he felt more like he was being chased. He made it to the abandoned hangar as Aiden instructed and put his back to one of the walls, his chest moving up and down with his heavy breathing.

"Aiden, there's a lady with black skin chasing me! And I'm not being racist, I swear to God! She's..NOT HUMAN."

Now that he thought about it, she looked like an Elven character from the video games he played. Before he could make another sound, he could feel an icy touch on his shoulder from Faeryl.

"Come on, little one. Don't be scared." she cooed. It wasn't the strongest attempt at calming someone since she was naturally scary with a terrifying aura to go with it. Even so, she meant well.

Michael smiled, because telepathy was a learned skill in his village, because of his draconic side. He stepped in behind Aiden's stunned form stunned form and grinned, then said out loud, "I hope you do not intend to do anything bad with Zack. I am linked with Aiden, here, so I cannot hurt him. I hope the same is true for you."

Aiden had never seen anything of the sort. Even as he looked at these strange beings, he could not get excited. "Can anyone tell us what is happening?"

Jason continued, "This is the most vulnerable period for us. Now that there are people from your world with god knows what powers entering this world, they might catch on to what we are doing." Obsidian looked at Jason and then turned to a console in front of the main screen. After walking over to it, he started to enter commands. A moment later, the screen changed to what appeared to be an army of monsters arming themselves with this worlds weapons. "Then we move to phase two?"

Jason grinned, "It's incredible how quickly you have adapted to this world." Obsidian turned to face the human and let out a laugh. "Says the human who's developing a new technology based on something that doesn't even exist in this world." Obsidian started to walk toward the door he'd entered through. At that moment, a gremlin entered. "My lords… We have completed preparations." Jason started to type on the console and the screen changed, revealing a large circular platform. "Phase two will begin in nineteen hours…" Obsidian grinned fiendishly and ordered the gremlin to inform the men. After the gremlin left, Jason split the main screen, one half showing the large platform, the other a news report.

The reporter was rambling about the president meeting with congress and the house of representatives tomorrow and how important it was going to be. "You understand what to do?" Jason asked even thought they'd been planning this for a while. "Chaos, death, destruction, but leave those military guys alive. Did I leave anything out?" Obsidian jested as he left the control room. Jason glanced back at Obsidian as he left and then smirked. "Yeah! Bring back ramen!" The two laughed which echoed down the halls.

The whole planet was in upheaval. The news was reporting that previously unseen sections of land were suddenly appearing in places where it seemed improbable. One reporter even had the audacity to waylay an elf and have her on for an interview, along with her dragon-mate. People were suddenly appearing in places where no people had ever been.

Strange beings appeared on earth for what many thought was the first time. But, the Spirit of the Skies knew different. Many, Many Aeons ago, the fantasy world and the world of humans were not separate entities, but one large, healthy planet. The Spirit knew that the balance had to be upset, to rectify the great wrong of the separation. And the time was now.

Faeryl put her arms around Zack as if he was her property, her eyes blinking innocently at Michael. She could feel Zack get petrified from the embrace, his face entirely red and fear in his eyes. Instead of in the mind, she said aloud,

"Even if I could harm this little cutie, I wouldn't dream of it!"

Zack was relieved to hear she had no intention of hurting him, even though there was still that shred of doubt. When she released him from her arms, he walked closer to Aiden, still shaking off the fear that was making him tremble.

"I have the same question.." he said, his voice pitch a bit high because he was still afraid. However, it was clear he was beginning to settle down. He looked to Faeryl with a questioning look,

The Drow looked at everyone and then rolled her eyes, pointing to the ceiling before speaking,

"We're all falling out of holes in the sky, generally. Our words are combining, however, our world is going to be destroyed. Can't say what will happen exactly to this one, but I don't count on it also crumbling."

She left out the part where she needed some of this planet for her people... Hopefully her brief description helped. Faeryl then whirled around so she could see outside of where they were with her spider mask.

"And there's worse going on out there, little ones."

Due to unforeseen problems with the RP, Worlds Collide is now closed. I do not have the patience to deal with it. I am sick of dealing with unnecessary argument with my decisions. This RP was planned for at least 2 months before the plotting thread was started. I've had enough. Sorry to those who expected to continue, but I see little success for the Idea, and will fill it out in a fiction story with characters of my own making. Good luck.
