The year 2440.
As a result of the depletion of fossil fuels, humanity had to search for a new source of power. The power was found in the form of massive arrays of solar power collectors orbiting the Earth, and supported by three space elevators (Lenio, Ops, and Vita), each one serving one of the three "power blocs" on the planet, namely Fultus Empire (FE), controlling the region surrounding North America; Melior, consisting of China, Russia and India; and the European Union (EU), which controls mainland Europe.
With this nearly inexhaustible source of energy benefiting only the major powers and their allies, constant warfare erupts around the globe among minor countries for fuels and energy. Countries that once economically relied on the sale of fossil fuels have plunged into poverty. Some even believe that solar energy threatened the "promised land of God", resulting in a 20-year war named the Solar Wars.
The Solar Wars caused a severe depression for the countries that were in poverty, with millions of lives lost.
This chaos led to the formation of a private independant military organization, called Censura, dedicated to eradicating war and uniting humanity. Their goal is nothing less than the complete eradication of war through the use of war itself.
Censura:
(They still have yet to make their debut to the world, because they are currently in the process of recuiting members)
Once selected and approved by the founder, they are assigned to service under the tactical supervision of their coordinators. The organization is tolerant of members of lesser backgrounds for the sake of achieving their goals. Members could even have criminal backgrounds, but are only chosen for their exceptional skills.
- All members must go through military training.
- Must abide by their code of secrecy. Breaking the code of being a member is considered a severe crime and is punishable by death.
- Members can choose to have their own code names.
- When on missions they must wear the uniform provided to conceal their identy.
Orbital Ring:
An orbital ring consists of a ring in low earth orbit that rotates at above orbital speed. It consists primarily of linked solar panels, which is connected to earth via three space elevators. This ring effectively provides near unlimited power to earth. An orbital ring is a concept for a space elevator that , that has fixed tethers hanging down to the ground.
Space Elevator:
A space elevator is a proposed type of space transportation system. Its main component is a ribbon-like cable (also called a tether) anchored to the surface and extending into space. It is designed to permit vehicle transport along the cable from a planetary surface, such as the Earth's, directly into space or orbit, without the use of large rockets. An Earth-based space elevator would consist of a cable with one end attached to the surface near the equator and the other end in space beyond geostationary orbit (35,800 km altitude). The competing forces of gravity, which is stronger at the lower end, and the outward/upward centrifugal force, which is stronger at the upper end, would result in the cable being held up, under tension, and stationary over a single position on Earth. Once deployed, the tether would be ascended repeatedly by mechanical means to orbit, and descended to return to the surface from orbit.
