Who Cried Wolf

[DASH=green]
Jenis could have slapped her if she wasn't a woman and a princess at that. The lady looked danger right in its eyes and asked it politely for a favor! Then again, she may not have known of the severity of the situation. The Xorians and the Kalerins were not on good terms, not at all. And what with the King and Queen of Kalerin being too modest to raise up arms, the Xorian army clearly had the advantage. If Jenis was King, he'd chew the Council's throat out until they agreed to wage war on those wheat-lighting ruffians. Princess Ariana was clearly unaware of the discrepancies between the two lands and Jenis had no time to explain it to her. It was a very tough situation for him so he had to do the only thing he could and should do at the moment. His pocket ace.

Lie.

Jenis blinked once or twice at the Xorians and the bellowed a laugh from deep within his stomach. The leader was eyeing him questioningly while the other three kept their bows raised: 2 on him and one on the princess. The laughing went on but Jenis didn't want to oversell it. No, that would only get him in a lot of trouble. The laughing was as believable as he could make it, even while he had to listen to the annoyed whinnies from Mace somewhere behind him and not being able to tend to his poor friend's wounds. Still, Jenis kept the smirk up as he dabbed at his eye with his elbow.

"I wouldn't suggest it. I take it that you all are going to use me as some sort of ransom to stop the war or something. Eh, fine. But I suggest you take the misses along."he said, The leader straightened himself out and even stretched his legs to appear taller in size. It was true, Xorians were typically short.

"And why would we? I heard your marriage attempts are as pathetic as trying to mate a calf and a dove together. What measures did you take to claim this princess? Kidnapping?"

"Princess? Hardly." he scoffed, tossing his head to the side in a mock chuckle. "Does she look it? Oh don't answer rhetorical questions. No. Kidnapping is beneath me. In fact, this is my bride, and I would do nothing to harm her. Right, baby?" he cooed, grabbing her chin between his two fingers and smirking. He knew the colors of her rage were red, but they were already in a bad way. Might as well have some fun doing it. The leader coughed gruffly and pointed towards Jenis and Ariana who were still on the ground, wrapped in one another.

"One take the mare, the other two, keep them in check." Jenis's smile faded but he still stood up when one soldier aimed an arrow at the base of his neck while the other did the same for Ariana. The last and leader were trying to tame Mace. Jenis bent his lips close to her ear and sighed heavily.

"See what your insolence got us in? If you wouldve just agreed to come with me earlier, we wouldve had smooth sailings to Kalerin."

When Jenis had started to laugh, Ariana had thought he had lost his mind. What did this fool have planned now? She didn't need hom ruining her chance at escape. However, before she could even voice anything, Jenis was speaking to the men, capturing their attention and making it so she could not get a word in at all. What was worse was what he did next. He took her chin into his hand and held it there, keeping her from speaking again. He also had the nerve to call her baby...yuk. If she wasn't stuck in his grip at that very moment she would have shoved her foot right into his family jewels!

She glared at him with slient but heated rage, the moment they were alone she was definitely going to give him quite the earful. However, considering they were now captives of a country she knew very little about, it seemed that she would have to play nice if she ever wanted to see home again. Her eyes wandered on the archers for a moment until she felt Jenis whisper into her ear. A small part of her wanted to slap him for thinking he could get so close to her without her permission but she figured that trying to kill him might invoke the wrath of the other men around so instead she just whispered back.

"You are saying this is my fault? From what I understand, these men are after you, not me! Maybe you should get you ears checked you git." She said under her breath before looking away from him again. "And another thing, if we get out of this I am still not marrying you!"

[DASH=green]
Somehow, two of the men managed to calm down Mace, by extracting the arrow from his smooth black skin. The horse was still very perturbed at the fact that his attackers were not trying to settle him down. Jenis had to chuckle under his breath. He was so much like him it was unbelievable. Ariana was talking to him about what was going on and decided that the only thing she could do at the moment was place the blame on him. Well of course. Leave it to a woman to never admit her faults.

"Oh, and you're Miss Innocent? You and that rat of yours have caused more trouble than needed! I never said I was going to kidnapped you. I politely told you that you would be my bride and all you had to do was dutifully follow along, princess. Is this what you did to your other suitors? Get them kidnapped?"he whispered harshly, but still holding a smirk behind his lips. He had to admit, even though he was being kidnapped by the Xorians for ransom, he was actually enjoying himself. This was the most fun he had in a very long time in his short years of life. Well, he'd like to think of them as short. He was only 28 and had not really had the pleasure of getting into adventurous things such as this. Though kidnapping would be the last on his list as an 'adventure.' Nonetheless, the spike in adrenaline and fear of being captured along with his bride to be certain was invigorating. Jenis was shoved along when the tip of an arrow poked the back of his neck.

"Ah! Watch it. That's royal blood you're spilling." he snapped, making sure he was walking close to Ariana. As soon as he heard a grunt from the soldier in response, he bent his mouth low to her ears discreetly. "So, we're going to need some sort of plan to escape. I say whistle for Albania and make him attack them right in their meat and two vegeta--"

"Silence up there!" the leader snapped in the back.
[/DASH]

"And when you said that I told you no. However, apparently you don't understand the meaning of no because you still took me against my will. That is still kidnapping! On top of that, I had nothing to do with these men, trust me, if I did you would have been hurt far more." She said to him in a harsh but low whisper. "As for my other suitors, I did not have them kidnapped. In fact, compared what I plan to do to you, they were sent off with roses and gold!"

Ariana was perfectly livid at that point, if she had the power and ability she would have ripped his head clean off his body! Then she would have stuck it on a pike and placed it in front of the castle as a warning to all other men...Alright, so maybe that was going a bit too far but considering the situation she was in because of him, it was perfectly justifiable in her eyes. She stayed still now, knowing better than to struggle when arrows were pointed at her. Her heart was racing a bit, both from her anger and a bit of fear. She wasn't sure what was going to happen to her now, considering that she was now being kidnapped by a completely different set of people. It made any chance of her being found by her father impossible.

They soon started moving, Jenis getting a nice prick on the back of his neck. Ariana might have smiled has she not been stuck with him as a victim. She was also starting to really hate the liberty he took with getting close to her, whispering in her ear all the time. She just wanted to grab his face and slap it repeatedly. However, he did make a point as he spoke softly to her, they did need a plan to escape. She remembered Alfred was in the bushes and at that moment he was probably following them at a safe distance, that was what he was trained to do after all.

The little ferret was following them silently, stalking the archers as he waited for her to signal to him. He was trained to attack on a signal and nothing more, unless of course there was a possible threat that Ariana did not know about. In that case he would just attack anyway. Better safe than sorry. The archers were too tense though, they would be able to react to her whistle instantly at that moment. She would have to wait for further down the road, then they assumed success and let their arrows down. They couldn't walk with them up forever after all. So Ariana waited, planning to have Alfred attack the moment they let their guard down.

[DASH=green]
"What made you think that I was taking 'no' for an answer. I kidnapped you when you said no. No is such a negative word anyway. You don't have much of a choice now, do you, since we're still together in this snag."he said walking to keep up speed. Jenis was looking closely at Ariana's eyes and noticed they always took a slight darting direction behind her, as if she were looking out for something. Then it hit him. Maybe there was actually some way he can make that Rabid Rat plan work to his advantage. It was a pathetic attempt at escaping but was also the only one he had at the moment. It would have been a tad bit better if he actually had Mace with him. The horse could knock all 4 of them out cold with a simple kick of his hind legs, and anyone he didn't finish, Jenis could quickly clean up with his dagger. However, the Xorians had the upper advantage when they shot Mace. He knew now that he was not messing around with 4 blundering fools.

He had no idea how long they were walking, but by the way the road was branching out to the left instead of the right, Jenis was sure that Xore was only a day away from them. It would have taken them 3 hours to arrive to the land if they were on Mace, but then again, Jenis wasn't always the luckiest man alive. The silence was killing him slowly. It got so bad that he was even about to attempt to hold another gut wrenching conversation with Ariana. Her silence left him feeling uneasy even though he knew she was plotting on how to use her pet to get the upper hand in the situation. Jenis looked over to his left to see one of the Xorian archers scanning every inch of the forest around him. Getting the plan to work was going to be one hell of a trial.

"How long before we reach town. I haven't used the bathroom in quite some time."he said simply, using one of his hands to cup around his area. It was, of course, a lie, but it was also the best he could do at the moment. The Xorian to his left said nothing and continued the scan. As a matter of fact, none of them said a thing. Jenis chuckled quietly to himself and took another deep breath. Alright, plan B.

"Seriously men. You all know how it feels after you have finished making sweet love to your partner. Your knight has eventually got to let loose something other than nectar, am I right? Or have you lot not been pleased that way in a time? Oh pity. Luckily for me, I have my bride right at my side. See how she looks at the ground in embarrassment? That's a princess for you, always trailing her eyes down when a pack of handsome men come around. Ah...it's a shame that I can not relieve myself for her own sake. Then again, if I can go use the restroom, you will all be alone with her and her bashful nature with it. If you don't trust me, get one to chaperon me. Whatever the case. Just don't keep the poor woman waiting."he cooed. There was a gruff cough before Jenis smiled at the corner of his mouth.

"Men. We stop for now." The leader uttered. Jenis turned his head towards Ariana, winked, and mouthed the words "Have fun." while a Xorian archer was leading him off to the base of a cluster of trees, arrow pointed at his neck.
[/DASH]

For the first time ever, Ariana did not respond to Jenis' comment. In fact, she flat out ignored him. She apparently was just not going to give him the time of day anymore. Then again, she was also smart to stay quite when she was threatened by arrows into her neck. Ariana stayed silent as they walked, leaving Jenis to figure things out on his own, she however had a plan to get herself free. She just couldn't do it just yet, the guards were still to protective and watching, there was no way at all for her to summon her trusty little ferret. It went like this for awhile, Ariana looking to a bush to see if Alfred was following and then a small shade of white showing through to show that he was. He was such a sneaky little thing as the guards were still unaware of him even existing.

When Jenis spoke again, Ariana looked at him slightly grossed out about how open he was with his need. Couldn't he be less...showing? It didn't matter much though as he soon started to ramble about it, saying things that would have made Ariana break his arm. His tone though was different, the way he said things...He must have been trying to escape. As much as she hated doing so...she played her part and acted like the shy princess most men would expect, even going so far as to bring a blush to her cheeks. She had a talent for tricking the eye like that. When the the guards were finally made uncomfortable, the leader finally stopped them.

Ariana sent Jenis a glare at his mouthed words before leaning against a tree lightly. The three other guards were busy checking out the area as she rested a bit, this was her chance. She waited a bit, allowing Jenis some time to get the other guard a distance away before taking the next step. Slowly, she raised a hand to her lips, checking the guards one last time before putting her fingers to her lips and letting out an extremely loud whistle...

Jenis would hear three very loud cries of pain, where ever he was.

Where ever Jenis was

[DASH=green]
He couldn't believe his idea had actually worked that well, and with no injuries at that! Jenis looked over to Ariana before he and the other had finally been obscured by the trees. If he looked hard enough, he could actually see the woman putting on a show for the men! She even went as far as to blush and look around bashfully! It almost caught Jenis off guard. For a moment there, he could actually see traces of a beautiful, feminine woman behind those eyes...

...and then his thoughts were interrupted by a rough shove of a soldier.

"Keep it moving."

"Do you mind? I can't just release myself in front of you. You wouldn't want that, would you? Unless you go that way. In that case...I demand to be escorted by someone else."he said. The soldier in question did nothing but lead Jenis to the cluster of trees. Once there, he backed up only a few paces to give Jenis some space to do what he must do. "Ah. Guess you don't. That is a relief."he joked, fondling with the embroidered sash around his pants. The soldier watched him do so and turned away with a smug look of disgust on his face. Jenis smirked and let one hand trail down to the edge of his boots. In there, he had hidden his dagger. Not to seem suspicious, he cleared his throat to keep the conversation.

"Why you, may I ask? Wasn't she beautiful? I offer my bride and you offer to take me piss? That does not add up in my book."he said, reaching down some more until he had grabbed the hilt of the dagger. Licking his lips, he looked at the man's back through the brown strands of his hair. Before he got the chance to say something else, a shrill whistle littered the air. Jenis reacted just as quickly as the archer did by tackling him from behind, digging the dagger into his back. he let out a gruff scream, but Jenis just slapped a hand over his mouth so the soldiers would not come in his rescue. On the other hand, he thought he made out screeches of pain as the man below him withered, passing from this life to the next. Jenis grunted when he pulled the dagger out and quickly wiped the blood on the bottom of his pant legs, turning back to run the way he had came one.

I hope that rat can duck and roll.
[/DASH]

Jenis would find quite an interesting surprise when he returned to there the guards and Ariana had been resting. All three of the guards had been taken down. One was knocked unconscious, a large rock sitting next to his head as a trail of blood went down his face. The other two were far off worse. The leader and final guard where both squirming on the ground in terrible pain, there hands on their groins. If Jenis looked close enough he would see blood on their hands as well.

Alfred had gotten them good...very good.

Neither seemed to be willing to move, let alone attack him as they squirmed on the ground. Mace was left standing, looking a little startled even as he seemed to have backed himself into a tree. Whatever had happened seemed to have made the horse very uncomfortable. Ariana on the other hand...was no where to be found. She had bolted when she had the chance, darting into the thick trees in hopes of getting away from Jenis and back to her father and castle. She had made good distance though, running at top speed through the brush. For a princess she was rather quick footed.

Alfred was on her shoulder now, purring contently in her ear as blood smeared his maw. He kept licking his face in hopes of cleaning the red liquid from his jaws but that would have to be saved for a nice warm bath when they arrived. Ariana was now smiling happily to herself, feeling a little smug that she had been able to take down a guard all by herself. Just more proof that she could rule a county without having to depend on a man.

"I am sorry you had to bite that place Alfred...I promise I shall give you a wonderful treat upon our return to the castle...that and a bath." Ariana panted out lightly as she continued to run as fast as her legs would carry her.

[DASH=green]
The run back was short lived and very...revealing. The minute he arrived back at the same spot he left, he soft 3 men on the ground. All three Xorians were scattered in the middle of the woods, one unconscious or dead, and the other two withering in pain, grabbing their places. Wow...that woman can work. Jenis looked around and noticed there was an absent of both the princess and her pet. He sighed heavy and put his face in his hands, wiping off what little droplets of sweat had gathered there during the struggle with the other Xorian. Jenis, why would you leave her alone with 3 men? This is Princess Ariana of Saypol. You should've known better. He extracted his face from his hands only to take a slow breath of air and gazing to the left.

He came face to face with Mace.

Jenis actually stood there for a second or two looking at the horse before he burst out in a fit of laughter. I was wrong! How incredibly stupid can that woman be!? Running off when given the chance, but leaving me my horse? Oh when I get my hands on her...Jenis tipped his head to the groaning men while slinging his legs around Mace's saddle, grabbing a hold of the leather reigns and snapping the horse into a sprint. Mace took off surprisingly fast speed for a horse that had only been shot by an arrow minutes before. Jenis wasn't complaining though. His mind was on what kind of punishment he would give to his princess when he got his hands on that slippery snake again. Knowing her, she probably ran off in the direction of her home. Not an incognito type of plan, but she must have been desperate to get away. Poor thing.

Jenis pulled Mace off to take a sharp right and stop at the edge of the trail that led to Saypol. The horse was obviously faster than a woman carrying a rat, so all he had to do was sit and play the waiting game. Patting the horse's mane, he jumped down and hid Mace behind a set of two large trees while he climbed up one of them, wrapping his legs around a branch. While doing so, he could swear he heard the pitter-patter of footsteps in the distance. Smirking, he waited until she edged closer and closer until...she passed him in a flurry. At the same moment, he bent over backwards, reached out both of his strong, brawny arms out grab her by the waist and, using the same momentum, yanked her light body off of the ground and into the same tree he was sitting in. Knowing the ferret was somewhere near, Jenis was careful to grab her as close to his body as possible, so that she was relying on his strength to keep her in the tree.

"You sneaky little thing..."he said, running a finger down the middle of her chest with a smirk. "There I was trying to help you escape with me and you try to run from me. I hope you don't make this a regular."he said, pinning her close to his body.
[/DASH]

Ariana was making great time and great distance, however she was getting tired. Maybe she didn't think this all the way through. She should have taken that horse, she just knew it. However, she had a feel thing the creature would have rather bucked her off than let her ride him. But the moment Jenis got to his horse...That little thought only pushed the princess to run faster, breathing harshly as she panted. Soon She could see the trail to Saypol and smiled, she was almost there...Almost.

Then suddenly she was yanked into the air. She was so surprised that she didn't even scream, just blink in a rather confused manner. The sudden pull into the air had caused Alfred to fall from her shoulders, thankfully falling into a bush lightly and perfectly unharmed. As she was tugged into the tree she felt her body soon pressed against a stronger and larger one, an oh so familiar voice speaking as she was dangling in the air. She glared into the eyes of Jenis with such fierce that it just might have set his hair on fire. She grimaced as he ran a finger in between her breasts. She squirmed in his hold, growling a bit as she tried to shove him away, not caring that he was the only thing keeping her from falling from the tree.

"LET ME GO YOU DISGUSTING PIG!! I SWEAR I WILL HAVE YOU BURN ALIVE IN THE FIRE PIT OF THE BLACKSMITHS OF MY KINGDOM!" She screamed at the top of her lugs, doing her best to get him to let her go.

At the bottom of the tree, Alfred had moved and started clawing at the base, having some difficulty getting a proper grip on the bark. He growled and hissed from the bottom of the tree, ready to rip Jenis apart for attacking his mistress.

[DASH=green]
"Alright. That's enough. I think you've let it all out by now."he said, still holding a firm grasp to her body. For a woman, she had a small amount of strength to her. Jenis actually did have to hold onto her and his grip on the tree with his legs at the same time. Of course, he knew she wasn't just going to accept him grabbing her like that, but what was she going to do?

"You left me Mace. Why would you leave me my horse and take your rat? Look where your stupidity has gotten you: Back into my arms. Actually, I'm beginning to like this stupid you."he said with a small smile. Somewhere below him Mace had decided it was safe enough to graze on grass. not the usual meals of oats and apples he would get from his stable but it would have to do for then. He needed all the strength he could get for the ride back to Kalerin. Thinking on it, Mace had been through the roughest portion of the day so far! Riding, sprinting, being shot, having to carry the weight of two people. He could eat all the grass he would want. Jenis looked up at Ariana and tightened his grip around her.

"Quiet, or I'll quiet you myself."he said simply, cradling her cheek in his hand in a mock caring expression. Whether she wanted him dead or not, she was till a female and had certain things that she just couldn't hide from. So, it was time to use those to his advantage.

"Sh sh sh sh...Hey. Quiet. I'm not going to hurt you, alright?" he said, picking her chin up with his two fingers. "I only told those men that to get them to stop and give you time to escape. I came back for you, didn't I? You ask for too much."
[/DASH]

Ariana was a determined person and she would not give into this man! Even if he was stronger than her and she was tried from running so hard, even if she no longer had her attack ferret withing reach and she was currently being dangled from a tree, she would not give up! She refused to even speak to him at this point, talking only seemed to make him open his mouth more. Instead she just grunted and squirmed with what energy she had left. However, that energy was little and soon she was just dangling there in his arms, pressed against him as she glared at him silently. She was still panting from her jogging and her hair seemed a bit of a mess. As for her expression...She was not happy.

The moment he touched her cheek she was glaring into her eyes, her gaze burning as he threatened to silenced her. She only frowned more as he grabbed onto her chin, speaking to her as if she had hurt his feelings in some way. She would have slapped him had ne not been keeping her from falling. Instead, she decided to injure him with her words instead.

"The only think I asked of you is to let me go...If you find that that is too much then you are pathetic." She said in a low voice to him as she dangled there. "Now let me go...please."

Those last words were strained and obviously not said willingly but she was tired and didn't seem to have the energy any more to deal with him and his ways.

[DASH=green]
Jenis looked at her with curiosity for a moment. The words seemed forced as if she had to swallow a tight pill in order to get the words out. Once they were gone from her lips, Jenis sat there and loosened his grasp on her as she looked at him with a deep and fiery glare. It wasn't frightening at all but it was discomforting. Did she really want to be away from him so badly, even at the cost of walking all the way back to Saypol barefooted and almost nude? It wasn't as if he hurt her in any way at all. Jenis stared at her for a moment more and then laughed.

"Afraid not. You're going to be my bride and that is that. I told you, I won't hurt you but that doesn't mean I'm going to let you go. That would be too easy. Now, if you would stop squirming, I can let us both down and we can go back to Kalerin without any pit stops this time."
he said, holding her and making sure she had no other choice but to stare him right in his eyes. He ignored the saddened and aggressive look in her eyes. He didn't waver and neither did she. A fighter. I like that.

"Listen to me, princess. I am a prince. A prince with a land and a palace and wealthy things just like you. What makes you think I'm going to put you threw hell and torment? I'm going to treat you like my Queen. Or something close to it. So stop it. Or I will hurt you in different ways then your usual."he said, lowering his voice, taking his trail of his fingers to the back of her ear, moving it in circles. He had to calm this lady down before he jumped on Mace again. Mace couldn't have another squirming ride again.
[/DASH]

"This was never about being hurt..." She started to say to him as she looked him in the eye. "I would never give myself to a man I did not know and care for. I do not know you nor do I have any care for you and I am certain I never will. I also have my pride to keep in mind, and well as other things that I don't feel like telling you about. But as it seems running away is useless, I'll give in. However, just because I let you take me to your kingdom does not mean I agree to any marriage with you. That you can not force me to do, no matter how badly you hurt me."

Ariana went silent after that, her squirming having stopped but her aggravated remained in place. She seemed more annoyed than calmed by his touch but she did not show any other signs of fighting. It seemed that she had really given in. However, Alfred was still hissing and growling from below, ready to sick his teeth into the ankle of Jenis as soon as his foot touched soil. Ariana did nothing to stop Alfred, a small part of her hoping that the prince would forget about the little ferret and think it safe to hope down, allowing one last chance to run away...

And this time she would take the horse.

[DASH=green]
"Smart girl."he muttered before he hoisted her onto his lap. He had to do this to allow the both of them to get to the ground without falling out of the tree. During his gaze downwards, he saw the tiny rat scratching and clawing at the base of the bark. The little thing looked as it he wanted to rip Jenis to shreds the moment his foot hit the ground. Jenis lifted one eyebrow before shaking his head in disgust. This was one strange princess.

"Tell your rat to back up before Mace squishes it. I said I won't hurt you. I didn't say anything about that."he said. In the back of Jenis's mind, he heard her words tumble through his ears. Marrying a man she cared for? As if she could possibly care for anything. I practically helped her escape danger and she did not show once ounce of care. Okay, so I kidnapped her. And? I didn't break her arm or anything. All the while, he started to think about letting her go momentarily. She obviously had no need for him and his proposal of marriage. Before he held her down to touch the ground, he thought twice about it.

Nah. This is more fun.

Jenis set her down on Mace and gave the horse a wink of secrecy. There was no way that Mace was going to obey the orders of a stranger, and a woman at that. Jenis climbed down carefully, avoiding the maniacal rat.

"I'll kick that thing if it touches me. Fair warning."he spoke, crawling downwards.
[/DASH]

Ariana pouted slightly as he pulled her into his lap, not liking how close he was putting himself to her. She however kept her anger to herself this time, she had admitted defeat so there was no point trying to fight with him any longer. She was too tired for that anyway. She also pouted when he told her to calm her precious pet, seeming to have noticed him long before he could attack. She simply looked down at the young creature and whistled to him, the ferret instantly going silent and just hovering around the tree instead, wishing to be back with his mistress.

Soon she was set down upon the horse, still pouting and rather grumpy. It was at this point that Alfred climbed up into a nearby bush and leaped into Ariana's lap. He purred and curled up in her lap as she sat on the horse, the princess petting the now calmed creature as she waited for Jenis. She gave him a sparing glance before looking away from him again.

"As if I would allow you to touch him."

[DASH=green]
He ignored her and just slung himself onto Mace's back, whipping the reigns off into the opposite direction back towards the road to Kalerin. They had a very big and annoying detour with the Xorians, but now they were back on track, It would take them an hour or two to arrive at Kalerin. Unfortunately, Jenis wasn't given the opportunity to punt the ferret off over the canopies over the trees for Ariana had let out a familiar whistle to calm the creature down. Mace looked at the tiny thing with his bold black eyes as if to warn him to keep still while he trotted towards the kingdom. Jenis had said nothing for a while. His mind was too filled with thoughts of what to do with Ariana when they got to Kalerin.

"So, since you clearly don't want to be here, I need your opinion. Would you be more comfortable being force to stay in my room or the guest room. I'd have to tell you, someone died in the Guest Room. There's nothing wrong with sleeping with me. I promise to make you feel as home as possible."he said. He decided not to go farther in his joke. Ariana was probably going to crack his neck while he was speaking but it was a risk he was going to take. This woman was too interesting to let her go. The three of them slowly made their way to the road to Kalerin.

"So, tell me about yourself? I see you have a certain taste for exotic animals. That's different, but interesting I guess. Do you have your own zoo or something back at Saypol?"he joked. There was a momentary pause before he sighed and ran a finger through his bundle of brown hair.

"Still pissed at me, huh?"
[/DASH]

Ariana stayed silent as they started to get back on track. She wasn't sure how far off the path they had gotten but she hoped it wasn't too much, she didn't want to be near Jenis any more than she already had to be. When he tried to speak with her she stayed silent this time, she didn't want to give him the satisfaction of actually getting an answer out of her. If she did that it would look like she was trying to be friendly and that was the last thing she wanted to be to him. It seemed that he got that hit when he asked her if she was pissed with him, bringing out a hallow laugh as she shook her head.

"Pissed? Oh I am far from pissed. I am absolutely livid with you." She said smoothly as she continued to look over Alfred.

Her tone said it all, though she seemed to have calmed on the outside, inside she was burning with rage for him. She was going to kill him for certain, the moment she had a chance too. In fact, if he were smart he would keep her as far away as possible for the time being, for the moment his guard was down...BAM!

[DASH=green]
"And why is that, may I ask? I did nothing to harm you thus far, have I? Oh, come on, Princess. Sometimes, you just gotta let things go. Now relax. You're not going anywhere in a long time, no matter how 'livid' you are at me. You and your little rat don't stand much of a chance against a 296lb horse and his master. Just a heads up." He had finished his talking for now. Nothing was getting into her head. Even the teasing had to cease for she wasn't playing along the way he had wanted her too. It may have been because he finally realized how mad she was at the entire ordeal that was going on between the three of them. In all actuality, it wasn't really that bad. It wasn't as if the man had kidnapped her, brutally beat her, and thrown her into a dark and dank dungeon in some foreign land! He was offering her a lay in his bed, for God's sake!

Jenis ran a hand across his smooth jaw, something that he had kept since his childhood years. The always nicknamed him "Baby Jen" because of his lack of facial hair. Facial was indeed a positive thing for a prince to have during those times, especially in Kalerin. Since he had sent all of the Princesses packing when they wished to wed him, he was forced to go to other places in search for a bride, finding Ariana in Saypol as his last resort. But, then again, he started to think deeply about her.

"Are you the type of woman who likes a rugged, valiant prince? Because if so, then I am saddened to say that you will never have that man. I'm not the type. Just telling you a bit about me. I'm not the 'hero', as you can tell. True, I had enough to take one or two of those Xorians out, but I was tired. Plus, I had Mace to worry about. If anything, you were in the way more than being an asset. We can fix that, however. I can teach you how to snake out of situations using words. Words are very seducing to the mind, aren't they, Ariana?"he asked, slurring her name off of his tongue with a roll.

"Why? Ha! You should be asking why not! You've stripped me of all I love, save for Alfred, toss me out a window to land on a horse and then almost get me kidnapped again by a completely different kingdom because of your lands own fights with them! On top of all that you keep saying that I will be your bride when I do not want to be, as if my opinion does not matter! I could go on and on with this list but I have no more of an interest in talking to you."

With that said, Ariana went silent. It seemed that he just didn't understand. It did not matter if he was offering her all the luxury in the word or to even lay in his bed. It did not matter if he hit and wounded her of if he gave her duck feather pillows to sit upon. This wasn't about material positions! This was about him forcing her to marry him, a man she did not know or care for against her will. No amount of money or treasure or luxury could make up for a lack of care! Also, she had things to prove. If she were to give in and marry a man she would be going against all she stood for. All those years declaring that she would rule the land as a single ruler, not getting married until she saw fit which meant she would end ruling as queen before she was married.

When he started to talk about himself again she just ignored him, giving him the cold shoulder as he tired to pull a few more words out of him. She had no intention of giving him the privilege to speak with her any longer. It was starting to become a pain to talk with the fool anyway. His head was just to think to see the flaw in his ways! Instead, she oped to pet Alfred instead, giving the ferret all of her attention.
