Whispering at The End of the Universe

Drake was about to head off to the bay area with Nicky before the sudden lurch of the ship tossed him back. He fell onto a nearby table with a bang, feeling a pain from the impact coursing down his back. He didnt have time to react before the sudden sounds of screams filled his head. His hands slammed over his ears, but the screaming did not quiet even a little, his body tensing from the cries of anguish and agony. He squinted his eyes open and noticed Nicky curled up on the floor, and immediately his protective instincts attempted to kick in. Trying his best to ignore the painful screams, he slowly made his way over to the child, looping an arm around him and pulling Nicky to himself, picking him up like any child would be picked up. He held the boy tight, from both wanting to protect him, and the other being that the screams still made his movements tight.

"Im right here, Nicky, Im here buddy... w-we gotta find y-your sister" he stammered as he spoke to Nicky, not even sure he could be heard. Nevertheless he began to slowly make his way out of the dining hall.

Anthony looked over at the crew member who entered his room and gave a small grin. He did his best to recall a name but honestly couldn't remember from being mostly secluded for so long. "Thanks, it's quite-" He felt the sudden forward lurch of the ship. As he was sitting down but wasn't strapped in Anthony slightly fell forward but not too hard. Sitting back up Anthony looked over to the other crew member and saw that she was pretty hurt.

Before he could ask if she was alright Anthony could feel the screaming. The pilot cringed at the noise but checked his displays. The sensors were going crazy, and they had been suddenly pulled from FTL status. That was wrong, it surely hadn't been two hours. "The system...we're already there. How the hell are we there?" Anthony spoke aloud, then cringed again as he felt the screaming. "I suppose I got my wish."

Seika had been in the lab ever since the early hours of the day, simply looking over bit of bacteria she gathered from around the ship. Her eye peered into the scope, staring down at the little organisms squirming beneath the lens. It interested her how such microscopic being could live nearly anywhere. Naturally, a smile appeared on her lips as she brushed back a curl of hair that had fallen out of place.

Just then, the ship lurched forward, causing many glass beakers filled with harmless chemicals to fall and shatter. Of course, Seika fell as well, scraping her left forearm on a larger shard of glass. A small gasp escaped her lips as she looked at the cut, which was about 4 inches long and ony a few millimeters deep. However, she didn't have much time to react as screams over took her state of mind. They were painful and unbearable, making her clutch her ears and head in an attempt to shut the voices out, but it was no use.

As the ship arrives in reality, the inside of the vessel begins to drop several degrees in temperature. It seemed that even the ship itself was not ready to arrive from the void. The ship has seemed to malfunction, the ships engines and generaters have yet to start as they normaly would when arriving in real space. The ship is at the moment vulnerable to the extreme conditions of space. Hazard lights and warning signals come from every hallway. Whether a manual reboot is just needed or something else has yet to be seen.

Meanwhile the voice of the captain cuts through the noise over Annabelles PA system.

"Crew of the Annabelle, as you all already know we have fallen out of the void and back into real space. Every member of the maintenance crew need to report to the ships engines rooms, it seems we have trouble in paradise. Everyone else head to the infirmary for any injures or stay out of the way while we make needed repairs. Give it some time, I am sure the whispering will quite down, it just seems to have.... missed us. Miss Cassandra and our Pilot Anthony need to report to the Bridge immediately. I will be there shortly."

Rory was in pain. So much fucking pain. As was everybody else, she assumed. The ship had lurched forward and she had a face covered in mashed potatoes, but she had wiped off most if it off. Then the screaming started.

Her head was about to burst open, her mind ready to explode. She screamed in agony, it didn't stop. In fact, it seemed to be getting stronger. She was going insane, bloody insane. She put her hands on her ears, in an effort to push out the noise. It wasn't working, so she did the only thing she could do- slam her head into the table.

It was stupid, she knew. But for a split second everytime she hit her head, the pain would go away. That was satisfaction enough. She blinked back tears, but some managed to pass through the cracks of her closed eyelids. Then the captain began talking over the intercom, his voice not helping one bit. He ordered the maintenance crew to check on the engines. Bloody bastard. Doesn't he fucking know we're half dead?

Nevertheless Rory stumbled out to to the engine room, posting her hands on the wall for support. She was dizzy, so so dizzy. She finally got to the room, and managed to hold on to the engine while adjusting it.

Cassandra "Cassie"
The Ice Queen

"A fuck this hurts!" Cassandra screamed as she got to her knees and pushed herself up. The blood running in a steady stream from her nose. "Fuck if this is broken.." She muttered as she held one hand to her nose. Stumbling over to Anthony she looked up at the screens, watching in slight horror as the screens showed intense results. "What are we going to d-" Just as she was about to finish her sentence a loud overhead voice rang out from the speakers telling everyone to report to different stations. Cassie's mind raced from the dizziness and mental screaming, but one thing stood out clear in her mind. Nicky. Her baby brother was somewhere and she had to find him, now. Without giving a second thought to the loud overhead voice telling her specifically to report to the bridge she rushed though crowds of people with their hands over their ears running in all directions. It was then she noticed Drake carrying Nicky in his arms out of the dining hall. "NICKY!" She screeched as she saw the little boy cowering in Drake's arms. She ran over to Drake and held out her arms to take him. "I'll take him. Thank you Drake" She screamed over the sound of the panic filled air. With Nicky wrapped firmly in her arms she whispered softly to the crying little boy as she made her way to the Bridge and awaited the captain and Anthony.

Nicky
"The Troublemaker"

Nicky was terrified to say the least. While he felt a certain amount of comfort in Drake's arms but when he heard his name screamed his baby blue eye peeked open just enough to see his sister racing towards him with her arms outstretched to him. He immediately tried to reach out and grab ahold of his sister with his small hands. Cassie's nose looked like it was broken and tears were trying to form in the corners of her ice blue eyes. As he left Drake's arms and clung to Cassie she hurried him away and Nicky looked over her shoulder and waved a small hand at Drake as he sniffled in discomfort.

Once the voices stopped, Seika took a look around her lab. Her first thought was to clean the broken glass, just in case someone else would come in. She didn't have a sweeper with her, so she picked up the pieces with her hands. As she did, little cuts in her fingers appeared because of the glass. She was still slightly shaky from the screaming, but managed to clean up all the liquids and glass successfully.

When she finished, she let out a sigh and placed small bandages on her fingers, forgetting about the larger cut on her forearm. Noticing the now scattered papers, tipped over scopes, and other out of place, she also decided to clean those up as well. Seika, after realizing the little bits of blood coming from her arm, left the lab after returning it back to its original state and headed to the infirmary.

Drake handed over Nicky when Cass came to them, nodding to her and managing a small wave back to Nicky, hoping the little guy would be ok. He managed a small jog back to the engine room where he saw Rory already working on the machines. "Rory... whats the status report?" he called out to her as he climbed up to the engine next to where se was, pulling up the on screen status check as he looked over all of the blaring alarms.

Anthony looked up at the intercom as he heard the captain's orders. Him to the bridge? He didn't like leaving his pilot station, and didn't want to leave even more now. Orders were orders though, and he didn't want to keep the captain waiting. Turning to his displays Anthony set the ship to full stop and set the auto-pilot mode just in case anything else happened. When he finished Anthony pulled his right leg off of his seat and slowly stood up. The major reason he didn't like moving around the ship was because of his leg. While he was able to walk with it still gave him a slight limp.

Anthony finally arrived at the bridge after several minutes, looking around at who was there. He saw the crew member who was at his station earlier who was now holding a child in her arms. "So I suppose from the announcement that you're Cassandra," he said to her. He could kind of remember her now, or at least what others said about her. Most of them weren't too good but he hadn't seen anything himself. "Wonder when captain's going to arrive."

Rory turned her head towards the voice. It was Drake. He was asking her something... A status report? She shook her head to get rid of the buzzing in her ears. "I, er, the machines... Yes. Engine 3 overheated and the pipe's broken. I need to get up there and fix it."

She pointed to said machine and wiped her nose which was bleeding. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail, with her greasy gloves, but she paid no mind. The engine was in need of fixing.

Drake nodded and looked up at the busted pipe that she had mentioned... how in the hell did a bunch of screaming fuck up all their machines?! He tried to clear his head and noticed that Rory's nose was bleeding. He walked up and pulled out his rag, taking a hold of her chin and wiping away the last traces of blood, his random act a way toget his mind a little more focused from the screams. "Get that pipe fixed, ill get engine 3 stabilized" he said as he made his way to the engine.

The damn thing was going haywire, and it took all the focus he could muster to get the thing stabilized. Even in his screwed up state, he was good with machines. At least they had a go to way of fixing, something he couldnt say for people.

Rory was surprised at his act and her eyes were wide. "I, err, uh, yeah, um, I'll go fix it..." she stuttered then turned around and walked away to get the necessary tools to fix the pipe. She got her trusty toolbox, and put on her goggles.

She climbed up a ladder and started walking on different pipes to get to the one that broke. It was badly dented, and there was a hole in it. How the fucking hell had the screams done that? She took a small piece of cloth she always kept in her box and covered her mouth and nose with it. If there was a leak of some kind of gas, she could pass out from it, and you could never be too careful. She took out her tools and began working on the bloody puece of metal.
