With her husband on deployment, young mother Sarah McKenzie patiently awaited his return. However, it wasn't going to be very long until their child would arrive. Granted she had eleven more weeks. The anxiety of waiting for him to come home and not knowing whether or not he was alive, still shook Sarah to the soul, but she had to stay strong for the sake of the baby. A stressed mother meant a stressed baby, so Sarah resorted to going to a support group for military wives, attending group therapy at least once a week to at least help with the anxiety.

Just so that she wouldn't have to stay home alone after closing up the Art Gallery that she ran with Skylar, she made a stop at her In-Law's house, hoping to have some company. After using the restroom, she could hear her Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law, who was also her Best Friend before either woman tied the knot. She heard shouting coming from the Master Bedroom, which worried her greatly. Quietly, so she could get a better idea of what they were saying, Sarah waddled towards the door and stuck her ear against it.

Teagan felt very high strung which was unlike her, normally Teagan was the one that was the silent trooper that kept her emotions in check. Which balanced the relationship out, but now? it was fire vs fire. She felt fuming that Brian didn't want to tell Sarah the entire truth about Sky. His brother, which she can understand from his point of view, but her instincts told her that Sarah would eventually find out and would do more harm than good to try and prevent her from getting stressed on this unsettling matter.

"She deserves to know, Brian. You owe her that, pregnant or not, Sarah is his wife." She snapped holding a pillow, she was trying to convince herself not to chuck it at her husband. "It might even do Skyler some good. No matter what how the situation maybe." Teagan was trying to convince him to tell Sarah the truth who has been avoiding the situation like the plague.

"We might not have a lot of time with Sky, and she needs to have closure if that is the worst case scenario, if that was me I'd like to see you even if you did look a mess." Teagan was very empathic to the situation and knew how hard Sarah had taken the deployment each time they recalled him back to become a medical doctor on field again. Now, his chances were catching up to Skyler trying to save a patient on the battle field, but didn't move in time.

"You knew this was going to happen. So man up and tell Sarah the truth, tell her where her husband is and what is happening, I know you're upset that you might loose your brother but he is a husband and a father now, Brian. " Her eyes were red stained from crying.

"I know you're pain darling, but trapping it inside and not sharing it with me makes me feel useless, I'm on your side. " She sounded defeated, utterly exhausted.

Brian was in a very precarious position, not that he wanted to be there. For the past week or so, he had been trying to figure out how to tell his sister-in-law that her Brother was in Intensive Care after something nasty happened to him during his deployment without stressing her. So far finding a solution to that was next to impossible, especially with his wife pressuring him to do so. It was either wait for Sarah to get a call from Government Officials, or tell her himself.

"Do you think this is easy for me? What am I supposed to do, just tell her 'Hey, Skylar's back home...But he's pretty banged up and he might die soon.' No, I-" He was cut off by Teagan, not that he was frustrated. This happened pretty much every time they had a big fight. Sadly, this wasn't the first time they fought. At least it wasn't on a regular basis.

Sadly, its not like he's been around a pregnant woman either, so Brian wasn't so sure of what to do. All he really knew is that they were very moody and required a lot of patience. "Yeah, before he tied the knot, he was my brother. I'm not sure how to go about it. I'm scared as much as the next guy." He sighed in frustration, his cheeks red from the yelling.

"I'm really scared of what I'm gonna do. But you're right, either I tell her, or Skylar's Commanding Officer does. And if she finds out that I knew for the past week, she's going to strangle me! The fact that they have a baby on the way makes it even harder. How am I supposed to tell their child that their Father passed away before they're born? The thought of that scares me to death!" He argued, knowing how much Sarah loved Skylar. Even he knew better then to get in between them. The fact that they had a child on the way made things even harder.

As the argument died down, Brian sighed in frustration. "I know, sweetheart. And I'm sorry. This week hasn't been really easy. But now you know why I broke down the other night. Losing my Brother...I don't even wanna think about that." He leaned against the wall, feeling winded.

As the argument died down, Sarah opened the door, causing Brian to start crying. "Oh shit..." He covered his eyes with his hand and looked away, unable to face his sister in law.

"I...I heard everything..." Sarah had a look of disbelief on her face. "I hope you know that I'm really angry with you. For keeping something like that from me." She said, but she was more heartbroken then angry. "How could you!?" She shouted, her hands balled up into fists as tears began rolling down her cheeks.

She listened intensely and knew how difficult it was for Brian let alone sharing emotions. This was something that was bigger than both of them could've handled, with Skylar's reputation of being quite heavy handed if someone ever double crossed Sarah, he was protective. Sometimes his temper was true to the core if Sarah ever got upset, like wise with Sarah if someone or something happened it was like world war 3, like it was now.

She immediately stood up and shielded her husband immedaitely. She was right to be angry. She gave a stare, but she stopped herself from doing it "Don't blame Brian, Sarah. He was doing it because he loves you too much." Teagan remarked. She brought her friend into a warm embrace feeling the bump resting against her.

"We didn't know how to tell you since in your condition. I didn't want to hurt you and not my place to say either Brian or a commanding officer was going to announce his condition we just wanted you to know it in the safest way as possible." Teagan was speaking for Brian at this point.

Feeling sick again, Teagan quickly rubbed her lower belly subtly, luckily Sarah's bump quickly hid it as she did. "Let's get you a nice coffee and we will give you the low down. "

"Skylar's not good Hunnie, he was aiding a comrade. He tried to pick up the casulty, before an explosion went off. The heat scarred his face and they're not intitally certain he'd pull through. But we have hopes." Teagan gave the report, she leaned down to Brian's bedside cabinet and took out a letter of the report of injury.

"He's currently in intensive care unit, awaiting to see if he does wake up." Teagan escorted her out of the bedroom, through a look at her husband. A hurt in her eyes. Before letting Sarah sit down and cuddled her allowing her to use her as a comforting aid. Rubbing circles on Sarah's back. "Easy there pet, think of the baby."

Sarah didn't really have the energy to argue. If she got any more worked up then she already is, it would stress out her baby. Brian already felt bad enough as it is keeping such a bad secret, although it didn't seem like he kept it all that long. While he did feel bad that he kept it from her, he really wasn't keeping it that long. As Teagan pulled her into an embrace, her swollen belly gently pressed against her friend's stomach. When Sarah explained the circumstances, Sarah showed understanding and relaxed a little. "Right, a stressed mom means a stressed baby..." Sarah replied. "Sadly its a little late for that."

Brian relaxed as well. Sarah's baby would soon start kicking against Teagan. "Um, actually, I can't have coffee. Its bad for the baby." She frowned because she missed being able to drink it. Overall, Sarah has been staying away from caffeine. So no soda or anything.

As Teagan revealed what was happening with Skylar, Sarah got a little terrified. The thought of raising her child alone scared her very much and that was something she thought about regularly due to the fact that he was serving in the military. Finally Sarah started crying, scared that Skylar would not make it through the night.

Meanwhile, Brian was in the bathroom, having just washed his face and looked at himself in the mirror. What would Skylar do?

Teagan gave a dense look, as if she face-palmed herself, realising that. Carrying a baby without coffee? how the hell did Sarah do it all this time. "I think someone is telling me off." She felt every kick of rebelling, making it's prescience known.

"What would you like to drink, maybe I can get that cake I made the other day for us to eat. " The thought of anything like that made her puke. "Don't worry Sarah, Skylar is a fighter, not a quitter. We'd take you to see him soon as we get word we can visit him."

"Knowing him, he'd probably be more concerned that he hadn't shaved than his wounds. You know how he likes to look presentable. At all times. He even got upset, because I came around to see you and he was having a day off doing nothing and just in his lounging gear." She tried to recall stories to keep Sarah calm.

"I'd help you Sarah what-ever happens you won't be alone in this." She hugged her friend even Sarah didn't know that she was hiding her pregnancy she didn't know how to tell anyone she had been so frightened of Brian leaving her. God if he ever found out,

A little package with Brian's favourite colour neatly wrapped it was very small. Palm-size. It had fallen from the top of wardrobe nearest to the master-bedroom doorway. She refused to part with it as it was her grandmothers so the door randomly open's on it's own spontaneously.

The little package wasn't quite on the ledge near the mirror landed on Brian's head, two thuds hit Brian before they both landed on the floor. A positive pregnancy test.

"Well, caffeine is bad for the baby. Increases risks for a miscarriage or low birth weight, neither of which I am willing to risk with my little bundle of joy." She frowned, patting her belly. "Isn't that right, sweetie?" Sarah asked, her eyes on her belly.

By then, she finally stopped crying, but was nonetheless scared. "Let's stay away from the sweets. For a drink, just water. I need to stay hydrated." Sarah sighed as she tried to relax, her hand still on her belly.

Overall, she hoped that Skylar was okay. Reading the letter that Brian had gotten still left her alarmed. As Brian was about to leave the restroom, two little packages fell and hit his head before hitting the ground. Raising an eyebrow, he picked up both little packages before setting them on the top of his dresser, unsure of what to do with them. However, he noticed something strange about the second one. It was a Positive Pregnancy Test. Sighing, he decided to just set it on the dresser and not say a word about it. However, he could already feel doubt building up in his heart about being a Father, especially a good one. Raising his sleeves, he slowly walked out of the master bedroom to see the two women sitting on the couch. Frowning, he looked at his sister-in-law. "We can go see him in an hour. Hopefully he'll be awake by then."
