What We Do In The Shadows
Friday, April 26th

Sarasota, Florida

As the bright spring sun vanished below the horizon, it was replaced by the waxing crescent moon. A mere sliver hanging in the sky like a hook, hardly illuminating amongst the flickering stars. With the daylight gone, the creatures of the night began to stir.

In the ordinary city of Sarasota, most of its inhabitants were already fast asleep in their beds. All except the occupants of a particularly mysterious house. The dilapidated Victorian-style manor sat at the end of the long street, looking forbidding over the rest of the houses.

It had a reputation among its neighbors for being owned by a group of eccentric individuals. Though, hardly anyone ever caught a glimpse of them. The majority of the tenants only ever seemed to be active at night. Yet, the house always had a constant flow of guests who would only ever enter, and never be seen leaving. The windows were covered in newspapers, with the curtains drawn and hurricane shutters remaining year around. But, the most frustrating for the neighbors were the strange noises coming from the house all night long. While most just accepted this unusual behavior, others despised them.

On this particular night, a letter had just arrived by raven, marked with the seal of the Vampiric Council. Such an important matter meant that a house meeting needed to be held to discuss its contents. The ringing of a pink Swarovski crystal bell echoed throughout the house, summoning everyone to the study.

The crystal bell rang out from the study, its quickening clinks indicating the user's growing impatience. As the high pitch sound cut through the silence of the mansion, it was a request, or rather demand, for everyone's presence. Zeph continued the jarring sound for a long moment, ensuring that no one could possibly ignore it. His lips quirked into a mischievous grin as his excitement grew.

When the letter had arrived that morning, nearly every inch of the roof and yard had been covered with ravens. Their incessant caws and abundance of excrement quickly annoyed the neighbors. Some neighbors had come out of their houses to stare or shake their heads disapprovingly, though none dared to do anything.

Well, except for Mrs. Johnson who lived next door. When she had left her house this morning to take her little devil spawns to school, the birds had started overflowing and taken to perching on the top of her precious Range Rover. The woman nearly had an aneurysm at the sight. She first took to yelling at the creatures, waving her arms like a lunatic but it had little results. Other than her looking like a fool. Her next attempt was more fruitful.

After scattering the birds with a broom, she was finally able to reach her car without the danger of ruining her overpriced designer clothes. While she grumbled and whined to the other mothers, it only caused her irritation to grow. Once she had returned home, she had attempted to call and complain, but on one had picked up the phone. The women left several angry voice messages and even called the local city council office to file a complaint.

Judy had happened to be taking out the garbage when he noticed the flock, taking the letter from the sole while raven. Although he attempted to shoo the animals away, he was scared off when one of them dove for his head. With a high pitched shriek, he ducked down and covered his head as he ran back inside.

The envelope was large, the size of a standard sheet of paper, and made from some type of aged bamboo pulp. At the top, it was sealed with red wax with the sign of the Vampiric Council pressed onto it. It was clearly of great importance, so that moment that Zephaniah had awoken, Judy delivered the message.

"Thank you mon chéri," As Zeph was handed the letter, a smirk pulled at the corners of his lips. "My robe," He ordered, Judy rushing to grab the garment from the closet. Zeph quickly slipped on his red lace see-through sugar daddy robe over his matching black silk boxer brief and camisole. With eager steps, he quickly descended the stairs and entered the study.

While he waited for the others to come and gather, his eyes sparkled as he stared at the envelope. "Ah, what's taking them so long?" He groaned, foot tapping the ground. "Mon poussin, do you see anyone coming?" He asked, crossing his arms in a huff dramatically.

It was just gonna be one of those days.

Since Toni had woken for the night, he had been wandering around the house, alternating between states of visibility, and invisibility. And yes, he was butt-naked the entire time. He didn't have any work that day, and he had been to the beauty salon the night before, so there wasn't much for him to do otherwise.

As it was, when Zeph had received the letter, and subsequently called for everyone by ringing his little bell, he was invisible, hovering nearby.

He followed vampire and familiar into the study, choosing to stand right behind Judy. Toni wasn't a particularly tall man, but he did have quite a few inches on the human, which put him at a convenient height to stick his nose in Judy's massive head of hair.

As far as he knew, neither of them were aware that he was there. If Zepheniah did, he didn't say anything at least.

Toni tilted his head, considering. Then, after a moment, he leaned his head forward, stuck his nose in those curls and took a slow sniff.

He smelled sorta like apples.

At that moment, Zeph questioned what was taking their housemates so long, and if Judy saw anyone coming. Which Toni took as a perfect opportunity as any to reveal himself in all his naked glory.

After re-making himself visible, he leaned back against one of the bookshelves casually, arms crossed over his chest and legs slightly spread. He winked at Judy, and then raised an eyebrow at Zeph. His gaze dropped pointedly to the envelope held in the other vampire's hand.

Taking notice of the seal, he suddenly tilted his head to the side to try and get a better look. Was that seal of the Vampire Council? He looked back to Zeph and raised both eyebrows. No reason he was calling a house meeting.

Why the hell was the Vampire Council writing them?

Jennie's room was cloaked in near-complete utter darkness, illuminated only by the searing blue light of the vampire's laptop. The reflection of the light against Jennie's pale face portrayed a startling mask of absolute fury. His eyes darted from left to right as he read the reviews on his Etsy shop. His adorable Tymon, sat in a computer chair next to him with his neck extended so that his face was close to the screen, almost as if he was reading the reviews too. But he wasn't. Despite Jennie's best efforts, goats just weren't good at reading. Something to do with their horizontal pupils no doubt. Jennie thought about changing the orientation of the webpage to better suit his darling's needs, but he'd forgotten how to do that. He would have Violeta do it later. Better yet, he would place Violeta in charge of Tymon's education. He needed to be able to bask in these glowing reviews for his clothing line. Jennie could read them to him, but the experience just wouldn't be the same.

"Look here, my sweet boy," he jabbed a finger against the screen creating ripples of blue-red color. "Gertrude Hodgson says that her baby, Abcde--what an awful name--has slept like a log ever since Gertrude swaddled her in your luxurious hair! Look, she likened the blanket to clouds! How endearing!"

"And Rupert Bunch says that he uses your socks for his alone time and that they don't stiffen as regular socks do. Well, I don't know what alone time refers to, but this is a compliment nonetheless!"

He skimmed through the next few. "Five out of five stars, four out of five, five, five again--ONE?!" Jennie released a strangled shriek when he scrolled to the newest review written by...Karen Johnson. Why did that name sound so familiar? Regardless, this sow claimed that Tymon's luxurious fur gave her son, Bryce, a rash and that Jennie should have put a warning to prevent that from happening. She also included that she had washed the blanket in a machine before giving it to her son.

With a horrible screech, Jennie grabbed the laptop and launched it against the wall. It shattered into a million little plastic pieces immediately. "Who puts an angora blanket in a washing machine?! What kind of monstrous creature! And how dare she give our shop a bad review?! Ohhh, I shall respond with scathing words! I will tell her what's what I--" He stared at the pile of broken tech. "I need another digital typewriter!" Striding towards the door, Jennie wrenched it open and yelled into the hallway for Violeta.

"Violeta I require another digital typewriter! Violeta? VIOLETAAAA!" Just as he opened his mouth to yell again, the jarring sound of a bell interrupted him. Jennie rolled his eyes and waited for the noise to stop, but it continued for some time.

"Aargh! Who is ringing that horrid instrument!" Despite asking, he knew exactly who was ringing the bell. Only Zeph could be so obnoxious.
He groaned and trudged downstairs, then speed-walked into the study. Zeph, Toni, and Judy were already there. Zeph was wearing one of his gaudy robes and Toni was...Completely naked.

"Clothe yourself, man!" He snapped, still annoyed by the one-star review. "Is it too much to ask for you to at least cover your privates? Here, I shall bestow upon you one of Tymon's finest." He quickly returned to his room then reappeared in the study with a black angora robe in his arms. Without waiting for Toni to say anything, he all but threw it at the man's groin.

"Now, why did you call a meeting Zephaniah? I will have you know that I am very busy dealing with Tymon's clients and--is that a letter from the council?" His eyes zeroed in on the letter in Zeph's hands.

What did the council want now?

As a familiar, Judy was often tasked with completing ordinary chores around the house. While his masters were asleep, life was quite ordinary. Perhaps even a little repetitive at times. After nearly a year of being a familiar, the traits that were once bizarre had begun to leave him unfazed. Whether it was washing the blood out of their clothes, disposing of bodies, or even searching for new victims. All he had become accustomed to, even if some of the more sinful deeds still weighed on his mind.

When Judy had started his day, he was expecting it to be as usual. However, as he went to retrieve the mail as he always did, he knew immediately that this assumption was wrong. The sky was filled with ravens, nearly blocking out the sun as they swarmed the house. Everywhere he looked, the dark birds were perched watching him. While they angrily dived at him, their caws were deafening. Judy was terrified, running to snatch the letter from the mailbox as fast as he could, shrieking as he went before sprinting back inside.

Even though Judy didn't know why the birds were there, it was obvious that the letter held some sort of importance. The moment that Zephaniah awoke that night, he handed his master the sealed letter. His master's face lit up with excitement, and they soon hurried downstairs into the study. Zeph rang his bell, calling for the other housemates to come for a meeting. Hudy had only seen this a few times, so he was curious what this was all about.

While they waited for the others to arrive, Judy stood in the corner near the doorway. In this spot, he would be able to see when someone was coming. Judy was lost in thought, silently wondering what was happening, while also keeping a lookout. As such, he didn't notice the looming invisible presence behind him.

When Judy felt his hair move, accompanied by the sound of a breath behind him, the youth jumped. As he spun around on his heels, a hand went to cup the back of his head to feel if something was on him. His eyes were wide, as he frantically searched for the cause. Only to see nothing.

It was then that Zephaniah asked if he saw anyone approaching, and Judy was forced to resume his familiar duties. With a shaken voice, he spoke "N-no...I don't see anyone yet, sir." As he replied, movement from the corner of his eye caught his attention. When he glanced over, he was met with the sight of a nude Toni. His body fully on display for all to see. "T-Toni?" He stuttered out, his voice faint.

Judy's entire face flushed a shade of red, his eyes once again widening. Though, instead of pure shock, this time was mixed with embarrassment. His gaze was stuck as he unconsciously looked at the man, only to finally glance away when he noticed the shameless wink. Judy wrapped his arms around himself, attempting to calm his rapid heartbeat and frayed nerves.

As Jennie then entered, it seemed that he was also uncomfortable with Toni's nakedness. Judy was thankful to the vampire for handing the other something to cover himself. The familiar didn't think he could even simply look in Toni's general direction when he was like this. Once that ordeal was taken care of, it seemed that the actual reason for this meeting was ready to be discussed.

The study was quiet as Zephaniah waited for the other housemates to gather, all except for the impatient tapping of his foot. With slender arms wrapped around his chest, he was growing increasingly restless as the moments passed. Of all the times for the others to be taking their time, this had to be the worst. Zephaniah could hardly restrain himself from tearing into the letter, which he had placed on the desk away from his twitching fingers. His crystal blue eyes gazed at it intently, nearly boring holes into it.

When his sensitive vampire nose abruptly picked up the familiar scent of Toni, his eyes finally lifted. He glanced around the room, but after being unable to see him realized that he must have been invisible. No matter, he thought, as long as he was present it didn't matter what form he took.

As Zephaniah asked Judy whether anyone was approaching, he quickly understood why Toni had decided to remain hidden. The familiar jumped, seemingly out of nowhere before stuttering out a response. It was simply adorable, a smirk forming on his lips as he watched the youth's face light up a bright red. His reactions were always so entertaining, which is why he so often was the target of teasing. As much trouble as humans can be, Judy made up for his obedience and innocent.

Once Toni retook his visibility, Zeph watched the man leaning on a bookshelf with a lecherous gaze. "Oh, Toni. How nice of you to grace us with your...presence." He spoke playfully, pausing on the final word suggestively, eyes slowly looking the man up and down while he licked his lips.

Zephaniah was still admiring the view when Jennie entered the study, demanding that Toni cloth himself. "Boo! Don't be such a prude." Zeph whined as Jennie handed the other a black robe. Even if the robe would look rather attractive, in the end, clothes just simply got in the way. Jennie had always taken issue with their more...hedonistic lifestyle. Not that that ever really stopped them.

When Jennie asked about the letter, it reminded Zeph of the reason he had summoned everyone here. "Indeed, it is." He replied excitedly, a wide grin tugging at his lips. As he picked up the letter, he held it tightly in his hands. His fingers gently rubbing over the blood-red wax seal. He stared down at it with a look like he had just found buried treasure.

"I don't know yet, I've been waiting for you all to arrive before I opened it." He explained, slender legs walking around the desk and plopping himself down into the antique chair. His hand reached across the table to grab his letter opener. A silver replica of the Eiffel tower, which comes off to reveal a sharp blade. As he sliced the letter open in a single easy motion, if he were alive surely his heart would be racing.

As he took the letter out of the envelope, his eyes quickly scanned the words. "The Vampiric Council hereby invites you to the triennial Bluemoon Ball hosted by Bjorn the Merciless at AMF Gulf Gate Lanes on the 27th of April. Join us for a night of entertainment, feasts, and partying with your fellow immortal brethren."

After Zeph had finished reading the letter, he jumped up from his seat. "Do you know what this means?" He asked rhetorically, eyes sparkling. "We've just been invited to one of the most important parties of the…" Zeph paused to glance at the word again. "Triennial." As he gushed it was obvious that he was hardly able to contain his excitement. "Wait, when is the 27th?" He asked, looking around the room.

Ah, how amusing all their reactions to his nudity was.

After having seemingly appeared out of thin air, fully in the nude, being Judy, the human sounded quite faint. His heartbeat was rapid enough that Toni wanted to laugh. Zeph's reaction, on the other hand, was suggestive. Underneath the other vampire's heated gaze, he visibly preened, leaning back a little, and tilting his head equally suggestively.

And Jennie, ever the prude, immediately started yelling and stomped off to get Toni something to wear.

He rolled his eyes with a soft snort under his breath as he caught the robe. At least it was soft. Jennie had quite the obsession with his goat, which was as funny as it was obnoxious sometimes. But Toni could admit he was curious as to why they had been called all together as well.

The Bluemoon Ball? Toni quirked an eyebrow in surprise. They, of all vampires, had been invited? He shifted his stance slightly so he could get a peek at the letter over Zeph's shoulder and - yep.

He had heard of the event before, but had never been. Although it wasn't because he hadn't been invited, rather, he just never had felt like going. Usually balls such as those had way too much talking for his tastes.

While he would never have considered going by himself, it might be fun to tag along with this group of imbeciles. He leaned back against the wall again, no longer as interested but still curious to how it would play out.

Especially since April 27th was the next night.

"You say prude as though it's a bad thing. Believe you me, some decorum would do you good, Zephaniah."

He said that but he didn't mean it really. While he didn't approve of Zephaniah and Toni's hedonistic habits--what with the excessive art pieces and the wild array of dresses--he didn't necessarily want them to change. If they were identical to him, he'd probably grow weary of his immortal life!

He shifted his attention to the contents of the letter. A party? AMF? What in the world was AMF? And when--

"That's tomorrow!" He shrieked. "No. No! Absolutely not. It's too short notice! I'm not prepared to go to a party. Who will take care of Tymon? Violet has run off in the night apparently because I can't hear her jittery little heartbeat, can you? So there's no one to care for the reason for my existence and the love of my life, Tymon."

He began to pace in front of the others. He gestured at Judy. "Dear Jude is much too timid to go head to head with a beast as headstrong as Tymon, and Daniel," he paused to watch as Daniel came crashing into the room. "Well, look at him! The boy is a simpleton."

His worries for his pet were legitimate, but he had another reason for not wanting to go. "Fellow immortal brethren" stuck out to him. That meant there was a chance that he would be attending and Jennie wasn't ready to see him yet. Plus he'd become somewhat of a homebody and having to spend upwards of two hours with hundreds of people did not sound fun. His idea of a grand night is drinking a piping hot mug of bloody chamomile tea while reading Coleridge to Tymon.

He stopped pacing then tossed his hands in the air dramatically. He pursed his lips and tried his best to appear genuinely disappointed. "Alas, my deepest apologies gentlemen, but it seems I cannot attend the party."

Danny Moon
Location: Room -> Study
Mood: Tired

Danny had been practicing fight moves in his room when Zephaniah rang the bell. Even though the clear bell sound permeated the halls of the house, Danny still couldn't hear over the sound of the Vampire Knight soundtrack blasting through his headphones.

"Kiyah! Hi-yah!" He yelled. A brand new shiny red sandbag hung from his ceiling. The bag barely shook as Danny landed an awkward roundhouse kick.

"KIIII-YAAAAH!"

He lunged forward with a punch that missed and sent him flying past his target. His headphones brushed against the red leather dislodging them from around his head and sending them clattering to the ground.

"Aw frick!" I mean fuck!"

He grabbed them from the ground then paused when the tinkling of the bell reached his ears. He gasped in surprise and rushed out of his room abandoning his music and training. He charged down the hallway, then made a U-turn to get his leather jacket from his room. By the time he reached the study, he was out of breath. His entire body was shaky from his training which made his control over his limbs less than satisfactory. As he entered the room, his shoulder clipped the doorway and he stumbled the rest of the way in.

"Oh, my bad!" He wheezed, then posted up against the wall. He crossed his arms over his chest and jutted out his chin a bit to seem more intimidating. All the while breathing quite heavily.

As Zephaniah's sparkling blue orbs scanned over the ornately decorated letter once more, he was bubbling with excitement. The Bluemoon Ball was notorious for being the pinnacle of high society. Just the guest list alone would undeniably be exclusive and full of highly renowned Vampires. It had been ages since he was last invited to a gathering of this caliber and he was eager to return to that life of luxury.

"Tomorrow?!" He repeated Jennie in surprise. This revelation kicked Zephaniah's mind into motion, mentally sorting through his vast catalog of outfits as he tried to decide what to wear to such a special occasion. He had a million and one things that he needed to do to prepare for the party, but he was determined that nothing would get in his way.

While Jennie began to get cold feet, he seemingly tried to grasp at any sort of excuse to turn down the invitation. Zeph's brows scrunched in confusion, dumbfounded how anyone could even consider denying such an honor. "Have you gone mad? Of course you have to attend!" The blond retorted. An offer like this might not arise again and he refused to let anyone squander it.

"Indeed it's short notice, but I'm confident we can find you something dashing to wear, mon beau." A suggestive wink fluttered towards Jennie as Zeph looked the man up and down. The man was easily twice Zeph's size, so he would likely need to break into his husband's wardrobe.

"As for Tymon…" He lifted a finger to his chin in thought. As Zeph peered between Judy and Daniel, he shook his head. "We'll have Max watch him. With the three of them together they should be capable of caring for your dear Tymon." Although Zephaniah was humoring Jennie, he truly found it difficult to comprehend what the Vampire found endearing about the goat. With its strange beady eyes, and painfully short lifespan. But, he supposed it was similar to the feeling he had for his beloved Esme, so he would continue to indulge him.

"Do not fret. We will attend and have a splendid time." A wide smirk pulled at his lips, standing from his spot at the antique desk. "It's decided." With a wave of the hand, Zeph indicated that he wouldn't be listening to any more complaints. "Come, mon beau, let's find something for you to wear." As he moved to leave the room, his slender arms wrapped around Jennie's biceps, pulling him along with a shocking amount of focus for such a small frame. While Zeph passed by Toni, a salacious grin appeared on his lips. "Would you like to help me dress, mon chéri?"

Qarin 'Max' Kunal | Location: Club/Home

Much could be said about the patience of a musician.

Do be wise to watch out for Oskar. I had noticed his wandering eyes toying with ideas one should not tease when on the job. If I see another decrease in our wine inventory this week, then check his locker; expect to find it stacked – and his ass fired.

Oh, and if you can recall, stop by the deli this evening. I have an order there for pick up.

Dear, I'm craving something sweet – you know what I prefer…

Did the guys like the new song I wrote? Please let them know I will alter anything they wish if they run it as your first single this year. I know it is a hit.

All throughout the afternoon, from the time he left the brewhouse and all through his rehearsal time at the club, Max's phone blew up with various reminders and requests coming from his beloved Mistress. Even with all the shits and giggles his band members gave him for having such a bossy 'girlfriend', all he could do was chuckle with a content grin across his boyish face.

If they only knew… Sacrificing so much, for so much more…. Ha, they would take it too, if they were in my shoes.

The woman who tormented him daily with her non-stop advice, honey-dos, and fitful worries was his one-hundred and fifteen-year-old vampire guardian. Who in their right mind would tell a woman like her to shut the fuck up? He sure as hell wasn't going to test that idea. Instead, he listened to the countless voice messages and read all the texts listed down his Messenger as he walked through downtown; hitting the various places she ordered him to visit before hopping in his vehicle to return home.

Besides, he believes he owes her his entire existence – being his secret savior throughout his life since birth. The stories she's told him of various life-threatening/altering events he'd survived because she just happened to be 'in the neighborhood'… Max held no regrets for choosing to become her Familiar. And with that choice, she's given him the world on a golden platter. His brewhouse is booming, and even though his old college buddies from India are no longer a part of their old band, Khoj Arth, they still supported him in other ways as he ventures into the world of a solo musician in America. He would never have made it if it wasn't for Mistress Bianka.

It took far too long to finish his to-do list, and hours of heavy traffic before he finally made it safely home. Towing countless bags and his instrument cases through the door several times, Max finally entered to stay, locking the front door with a jovial shout to announce his arrival. He was hoping to gain some help with the mass amount of items he carried inside - usually, someone was nearby... But not tonight.

"Hey, I'm home! Where's everybody?"

Normally, someone would be at the door before he was out of his vehicle. A household of vampires can easily hear when someone drives up in their driveway. Curious, he stopped moving to listen to the silence, hearing voices coming from the left – most likely the study. Eliminating the bags from his arms, and unwrapping his messenger bag from around his chest, Max followed the sounds echoing down the hall. He hears Zep's noticeable voice hike up a notch with excitement, then Jennie's creamy frustrations soon after. Whatever it was that held everyone's attention in the room must have been rather important. The one voice he didn't hear was his Mistress's…

"As for Tymon, we'll have Max watch him. With the three of them together they should be capable of caring for your dear Tymon."

"Hey guys, sorry I'm late…again. The typical." Grinning, Max slid his hands into his back pockets as he motioned to everyone in the room with a nod of respectful recognition; eyebrows raised at Toni's partial attire. It didn't take him long to read the room's behavior before he stepped inside. Something big was going on… and his Mistress was nowhere in the room. "Um...so, what did I miss tonight?"

Bianka Alling | Location: In her bedroom

Deeply meditating in the energy-filled corner of her room, Bianka's body showed no signs of a pulse or breath. Her tiny, pure form sat in lotus and silence dressed her in her own personal ambiance. The day's way was no longer on her mind. Her heart, which crawled at a snail's pace - stood silent as she raced through fields of night jasmine and fireflies within her inner realm.

The dinner bell downstairs was much heard - and easily ignored.

True, Zeph's crystal bell always should be respected, for it warns of utter importance within their dear little household. But, for Zeph, everything is of utter importance - and the bell continues ringing in her dreams.

Therefore, she continues to praise her Devis, holding caution not to dawn the spirit of Kali to end that erratic sounds of that dreadful bell, Bianka drew further and further away from her mantra's rhythm for the high-pitched clinging of...

Bright crystal blue eyes widen in high alert; Bianka was abruptly forced out of her meditation. She could sense Zeph had lost his patience... his heated aura was seeping through the floorboards. Pray tell, she wondered why? As far as she could tell at a distance, sweet Judy was present, Toni was - fully present, Moody Jennie pulled himself away from his adorable Tymon... Oh, and Danny just arrived - she could smell his 'Eu du Wishing' all the way upstairs. All that was left was for a few more of their little family and her loyal Qarin to arrive. All the important figures in the house will be accounted for soon... And that's when she will make her appearance!

"Aakhir ke lie sarvashreshth saheja ja raha hai" - Saving the best for last, she chirped in her delicate mother tongue as she stretched her long, thin arms over her head. Unfolding her natural form, Bianka stood and arched herself into a deep Anuvittasana (standing backbend salute) to realign her chakra further after breaking her focus so harshly. Standing to her full height, she patted softly across her living area and entered her room.

"Hey, I'm home! Where's everybody?"

Ears perked, Bianka took a deep breath. "Umm, wonderful." Sensing that her Familiar has had an exciting day at work, as well as an armful of her requested desirables, she decided to dress for the day, so Qarin can relay all the cheezy details. No reason to go downstairs au natural after Toni beat her to it. However, she noted to herself to that a chat with Qarin's band members might be in order...

Gliding to her walking closet, Bianka dressed in her pretty flower-print Punjabi and lifted her hair into a messy bun. Slowly... agonizingly... she paced herself down the stairs to, hopefully, find herself as the final member to enter into the meeting. Always making an entrance, Bianka just enjoyed fluffing feathers - just a little. She knew Zeph will forgive her for holding his announcement up, but truly she was curious as to what had him so excited all of a sudden.

Of course, Zephaniah disregarded all of his concerns and worries with dramatic exclamations with a wave of his dainty hand. As if everyone should jump for joy at the chance to attend a mere party. Jennie exhaled huffily through his nose and crossed his arms. The corner of his lip upturned in a snarl of disgust but he didn't say anything else. There was no use. Zephaniah was going to force him to attend the gathering whether he liked it or not. He had to admit he was slightly less concerned for Tymon's wellbeing since according to the Frenchman, Max would be in charge. So that worry was erased, but there was still the matter of running into...That horrid man. Jennie pondered for a brief moment if he should tell the others about Leonidas. Surely they would lend him their support and protection should the pirate approach him at the party, but he'd never spoken of his turning with the others. A fraction of him believed the others would side with Leonidas or even worse, empathize with him over Jennie and he didn't want that to happen. Best not to think of it at all, honestly. He would simply have to do his best to avoid Leonidas, should he show his ugly mug.

Jennie scoffed dismissively as Zephaniah started talking about what they would wear. Or rather what he would wear. Honestly, the French were too gaudy for their own good. No wonder they lost half the wars they fought. They placed too much emphasis on their military's fashion and prancing than on actual combat tactics.

"There's no need to make such a fuss, Zephaniah. I will wear what I always wear. A simple all-gray three-piece suit. We don't all have to dress like peacocks, you know?"

Even as he said this, he wasn't helpless to the other pulling him out of the room. Jennie grumbled the entire way about having suitable "party" wear in his closet. Ten pairs to be exact. All the same in every cut, color, and style, just the way he liked them to be. For some reason, his stark plainness seemed to offend the fancy Frenchman.

Jennie all but hissed when his captor asked Toni if he wanted to help him "dress."

"If you're going to do that, I will not be in attendance. You won't trick me into witnessing your malicious hedonism again."

Even without enhanced hearing Danny heard how Jennie described him and honestly, he was hurt. He wasn't a simpleton! In fact, he was the exact opposite! He was a smarteton! Really fucking smart! So smart, that he knew exactly what he had to do to help prepare for the party. He, Daniel Moon, was going to find his master's a virgin. He could imagine the stupid look on Jennie's face when he brings in a super tasty, moderately hairy, scrumptious virgin for the vampires to bring to the ball. Aw yeah, Jennie was going to eat his words. He would never get to call Danny a simpleton ever again.

He couldn't do it alone though. As much as he hated to admit it, this would have to be a two-person job. He glanced from Max to Judy, to Judy to Max, then back to Judy. Yeah, Max didn't need any more cool points. He was already a fucking rockstar. If he got the virgin, he would only ascend to Wattpad godliness and Danny couldn't have that. It's not that he was jealous of the other guy, but...Agh! Whatever!

"Come on, Judy! I have something cool--"he paused and squinted at Max suspiciously. "I mean, something super fucking lame, to talk to you about." He gestured to the hallway outside. He smiled at Max and gave him a gentle pat on the back. "Good luck with Tymon, dude! Remember, a tin can a day keeps the goat plague away!"

In the distance, he heard Jennie scream about not feeding Tymon anything but premium organic GMO-free grass.

Toni hid an amused smile in the collar of his robe, not wanting to be called out by the other vampires. As expected, they made quite the fuss that the ball was so soon: Jennie, over leaving his beloved goat without an adequate babysitter, and Zephaniah over what they were going to wear.

He could never understand why their clothing, of all things, would require so much preparation. Zephaniah owned many pretty things, and Jennie's suits, as he mentioned, would work just fine. Then again, Toni never understood the appeal of wearing any clothes. What did it matter, what they covered themselves with, when they had such nice bodies underneath?

He was brought out of his musings about the uselessness of clothing, by Zephaniah dragging Jennie from the room. He had already pushed off from the wall to follow after them, when Zeph glanced back at him.

"Would you like to help me dress, mon chéri?"

He returned Zeph's salacious grin with one of his own. Did he ever.

He followed them from the study, out into the corridor. At Jennie's disgust, he smirked, and winked, before pushing ahead and leading the way into Zeph's room. Once there, he flopped into the desk chair, spreading his legs without consideration for the openness of the robe he was wearing.

While the conversation flowed around him, Judy was content to remain silent. It wasn't as if he had anything to contribute regardless, but Zephaniah had often instructed him that the "help" was better seen and not heard. Judy took his Master's words to heart, wanting to please the other with his good behavior. It was his sole goal in life to please Zeph, and if standing in a corner and being quiet was all it took, he would do it happily.

When it appeared that all was decided, Judy started to trail after Zephaniah to assist with his clothes. However, when he heard Danny call out to him, he paused. "Really?" Judy asked, tilting his head as he walked towards to male. "What is it?"

As he noticed Danny's gesture, he quickly followed him out to the hallway. Once they were alone, Judy asked "Is something wrong?" with a look of concern. The other often confused Judy with his strange behavior. Danny was always seemingly putting on a show, or saying the opposite of what he meant. It took a while for Judy to come to an understanding of him. Though, Judy realized that he was pretty odd himself. You would have to be in order to become a vampire's familiar after all.

While Zephaniah tugged on Jennie's arm, he pulled the larger man along. A devilish smirk crossed his supple pink lips, clearly finding some sadistic enjoyment out of the other's discomfort. Although Zeph was barely half Jennie's size, the strength in which he held onto the other was immense. Zephaniah wasn't about to let Jennie run away before he had had his fun.

As they came to the doorway of the study, Zephaniah's blue orbs landed on Bianka. "Glad that you could join us ma chérie," His voice hinted at sarcasm, though it was merely playful teasing. "We've been invited to the Bluemoon Ball, isn't it grand?" Zeph explained, clearly gushing about the announcement.

When Zephaniah heard Jennie brush off his offer to help find him something suitable to wear, the blond tilted his head to peer up at the man. "Nonsense!" Zeph rebuked in astonishment. "When we're through you'll look like the finest peacock at the ball," He giggled, obviously enjoying himself. "Now come along mon petite poupée," Zeph again began to pull Jennie along with him.

"We'll be heading to my room if you'd like to join us," Zeph called over his shoulder to Bianka, exiting the room with Jennie in tow. While they continued to his room, Zeph watched as Toni passed them to lead the way. His lustful gaze slowly raked over Toni's naked form, admiring the way his muscles moved as he walked. It was certainly an enjoyable view

Once they reached Zephaniah's bedroom, he walked Jennie to the chaise lounge chair and teasing shoved him into it. As Jennie complained about Toni and Zeph's flirtations, Zeph replied "Ah, we would never do that," lying through his fanged teeth. The blond's gaze flickered to Toni, eyes lingering as he licked his lips suggestively.

"Don't fret. This time you'll be the one to strip," Zeph turned to Jennie with a wink. "Let me pick out a few options for you to try," He said, already entering the closet. It was spacious, nearly a whole other full-sized room. The closet was built out of ancient mahogany wood, with clothes hanging from racks while shoes and accessories sat neatly on shelves.

It took little time for Zephaniah to pluck several items from the wardrobe, and start to bring the pieces out for Jennie to judge. "You need some color for once, no more of this boring grey." Zephaniah commented, "What about a red tailcoat? It is as rich as blood," He held up the option, placing it in front of Jennie to see how it would look. "Or perhaps green, like the plague? Didn't you love the plague?" The blond hurried off to take another jacket off the rack.

Listening - in this house - has become Max's favorite pastime. There was always something crazy going on that just kept his world rolling downhill in a wine barrel towards the edge of a cliff descending to a roaring waterfall of utter wonder. He caught on quickly that an important event was happening tomorrow and everyone... well, Master Zeph was in a frenzy to prepare everyone for it.

As Master Zeph dragged Master Jennie up to his bedroom, Max chuckled to himself at Danny's high school antics as he attached Judy to his hip to rush past him out the door.
"Good luck with Tymon, dude! Remember, a tin can a day keeps the goat plague away!"

Max let them pass with a shake of his head; he's never been much for coming up with a good burn on the fly. Besides, he had no problems babysitting Jennie's adorable Master Tymon. The goat gave him a touch of nostalgia - reminding him of the few goats his parents had at the farm on their estate in India during his childhood. Besides Jennie, he was probably the only other person there qualified to manage his care. Tymon's mohair was of exceptional quality and quite popular based on Jennie's Etsy sales. Max felt a small amount of pride there since he's assisted a few times in keeping the beloved Angora goat healthy and his profitable coat silky and thick - all according to Jennie's instructions. Therefore, no comeback is required. Besides, he much preferred Tymon's company after days and weeks of dealing with loud clubs, long-winded rehearsals, and stressful meetings with producers pumping smoke up his ass to get their hands on his sound.

Tymon is a great little friend. But, Max often wondered why Danny behaved so questionably around him. Maybe it was an America thing he's still ignorant of. No matter, eventually he'll get him to see that he's not a bad guy to get to know.

Once everyone beelined to Master Zeph's room, Max exited the study, taking the stairs two by two until a vision of beauty stopped his tracks. Mistress Bianka began to descend the middle stairs towards him. Her eyes were smiling at the antics from her other roommates. Apparently, she's missed the entire meeting.
"My Mistress, I was just on my way to find you."

"Ah, no need. I was never lost." Gathering Max's face in her hands, she gave him her gentle welcome upon his cheeks before turning towards the commotion below. Max offered her his arm and they continued down the stairs to meet the others as they moved on.

Zephaniah's blue orbs landed on Bianka, "Glad that you could join us, ma chérie."

A little sarcastic tease - she only giggled, "Aww, missed me? Absence makes the heart grow fonder, as they say, my Priy." (sweetheart). Oh, how the little things bring about such sweet spirits. Zeph's aura was glorious in excitement and joy - what in the world had her roomie so bouncy?

"We've been invited to the Bluemoon Ball, isn't it grand?" Zeph explained, clearly gushing about the announcement.

Bianka stopped, frozen in her step. The light from her radiant eyes instantly drained and the deep tone of her skin ashen with a fear rarely seen in the confidant lady of shadow. She quickly altered her expression before anyone else caught wind, but Max noticed. He's learned enough about his Mistress's personality to note the change in her stance. "Svaaminee?" (Mistress?)

"We'll be heading to my room if you'd like to join us," Zeph called over his shoulder to Bianka, exiting with Jennie in tow.

Their antics uplifted her spirits once more. Glancing towards Max, she nodded her head with a grin, "By all means, let's watch the show, shall we? Besides, someone has to remind Zeph to edit." His styling was always spectacular, but some people just can't handle so much - spectacular. Entering the luxurious room, Max excused himself out the door after delivering his Mistress. He headed back to the front to grab his many bags and head upstairs to Bianka's room to put them away. Then, he headed to his abode to do the same.

Bianka watched the activities in the room, grinning from ear to ear at the energy swirling. Taking a deep breath, feasting in the revelry, she settled down on the edge of Zeph's overly decorated sarcophagus, crossing her legs as she watched him pull various coat tails from his massive closet. All were gorgeous pieces, but were they of Jennie's taste? Obviously not. "Dear Zeppy, one can't simply pull out a fanciful jacket and expect it to be of the wearer's taste. Jennie won't be content, nor comfortable, unless you find that One! A compromise - his style and your upgrade for it, in the end, might make for a very stylish baby." Her eyes brightened at the idea of seeing the grumpikins wearing something with a touch of color.

As soon as Judy joined him in the hallway, Danny launched into his plan. He and Judy were going to permanently place themselves on the "very soon to be turned" list with this sick plan. Sick as in cool though, not morally depraved. Although you could argue that luring a man to his death was morally depraved in it itself, but--Aagh whatever!

"There's a guy in my...motorcycle driving course," he started. There was no way in hell that he was gonna tell Judy he was actually taking theater classes to hone his bad-boy aura. Judy was sweet and trustworthy, but Danny knew the other guy thought he was cool as hell and he didn't want to ruin his perception of him.

"I'm almost 100% sure that he's a virgin and I'm completely sure he's a douchebag. I overheard him bragging to his friends that he's had sex 19 times which is obviously a lie. I mean, if you've had sex before, why would you say a specific number, right?"

"But what makes him worthy of being lured to a party of vampires and used like a Capri sun is,"
he made jazz hands for emphasis. "Anytime any of the ladies in the class get on stage--I mean, uh get on the bikes--he moans. What a dick, right? He's gonna be at the theater today--because uh the motorcycle instructor uses the theater for his office--So we can definitely bag him!"

Jennie almost breathed out a sigh of relief when Bianka spoke up on his behalf. Almost. Why was everyone so obsessed with color? Half the vampires they were going to see tomorrow were going to be wearing black! Why did they have to bringeth the rainbow factory? Jennie was content with his closet of varying shades of gray and one navy blazer! He cast a disgusted look at the tailcoat Zeph offered him.

"It's too gaudy. Look at how decorated the cuffs are! It's unsightly," he huffed.
"Furthermore, I shall not be undressing in the presence of the fairer sex! Provide me with more suitable apparel and I shall change in my quarters. Or better yet, leave me be and I shall wear whatever I choose to wear!"

Bianka was lovely but she was still a woman and Jennie's stomach roiled at the thought of revealing his form to her. It just wasn't right.

While the pair left the manor, Judy listened quietly as Danny began explaining his plan. Although the red-head gently nodded along, he was more than a little confused. "Are you sure? What if he is telling the truth?" Judy asked timidly. "Is that a normal thing to lie about?" It wasn't a secret that Judy was naive when it came to the topic of sex. Growing up in a strict religious household could do that to a person. So, he was mainly relying on Danny. After all, the other seemed far more knowledgeable.

When Danny mentioned turning their potential victim into a capri sun, Judy shuddered as a cold chill ran down his spine. "Th-that's so morbid…" He mumbled. Even though he had been a familiar for a while, and this wasn't his first time luring a victim to their death, it still wasn't something he enjoyed. It was just a fact of life, but he still tried to avoid thinking about it as much as he could.

"I guess he sounds pretty bad...if he is harassing women." Judy agreed with Danny. The sole solace he could find in this evil deed was that at least the guy would deserve his fate. "Let's head to the theater then." With their target decided, Judy glanced around. "Should we take your motorcycle then? It's a riding class, right?" He asked, oblivious to the others' obvious lies.

As the pair arrived at the theater, Judy meekly trailed after Danny as they entered. It was located in a small auxiliary auditorium on the property of a local community college. At the front was a lifted stage while the audience contained rows of seats ascending towards the back. There were people scattered around the room, some sitting in chairs at the front while others formed a small group chatting near a table with snacks and drinks. On the stage was a sole woman flipping through what seemed to be a notepad.

Judy stood near the back, "This is a weird place for motorcycle lessons," He commented quietly to Danny. As his eyes glanced around at the other people, he continued, "Is that guy here?"

As Zeph held out the various options he had handpicked for Jennie, a mischievous smirk pulled at the corners of his lips. Although the elegant items with their stunning details and captivating colors would look gorgeous on the man's physique, Zeph was aware that these far exceed Jennie's comfort zone. However, he just couldn't help himself. Watching as Jennie became more and more flustered was just so amusing.

Zephaniah couldn't contain his giggle when the other began complaining about undressing in front of Bianka. Though, he wasn't surprised. After all, Jennie was quite a puritan. "Ah, does that mean you'll change for me, ma chérie?" With a playful wink, Zeph appeared highly entertained even despite Jennie's many complaints.

When Bianka suggested a compromise, the blond sighed dramatically. "I suppose I could restrain some of my fabulous fashion sense…" His lips pursed into a slight pout. The blond paused in thought, considering what would be a good addition to Jennie's usual attire. "What about adding a collar? It's the perfect fashion statement to show off your sophistication."

Zeph again disappeared back into his closet, retrieving more options for the male to choose from. The blond held up the first option, "A classic ruff in the color of blood." He set it down onto a small table. "An ornate collar sewed with a golden silk," Zeph then held the last in his other hand. "The black and gold lace cravat." With all three options displayed for the other, Zeph tilted his head. "Surely one of these will suit your fancy?"
