Ahh, the old west! Cowboys, saloons, outlaws, sherrifs, can-can dancers and tumbleweeds!
It's been a while since I've seen a decent Old West roleplay (It's also been a while since I saw a good old fashioned western movie or book get some attention; probably related.)
Do you guys enjoy Old West settings? What is it about them that makes you like them?
I like the "lawless town" type setting, where the law is whatever the most powerful man wants it to be. I love playing with the different social dynamics of the day, especially the legal concept of outlawry (an outlaw being a person literally outside the law, it doesn't apply to him, meaning you can do anything to an outlaw legally.). The popular theme of little man versus big city "1%" folks is fun to play with, too.
