Reiux looked around as though he were asking himself that very question.

"I'm not here for the service: just here taking a break from the night. How about you?"
 
''Well, kinda got no place to go. Got a good deal going on here, so won't break what's not broke.''
The men were not the sort of people who just come to places like this for the night, not if there was any alternative. They were up to something. He'd play along with their story, but soon enough he'd get to the bottom of whatever they were up to.
''So, I'm John.'' He put his hand out.
