    As many of you know, our numbers dwindled after the Talon Conflict, and we now require additional heroes in our efforts to aid the global community and capture the last remnants of the Talon organisation. That is why you, great heroes who have shown valour, ability and teamwork, are being brought out to Watchpoint Gibraltar, ready to become part of the team.

  • Welcome, Agents of Overwatch. After several long months of training and trials as part of the Heroes Initiative, you have finally been accepted into the Overwatch organisation. As the next generation of heroes set to defend the world against the threats posed to it. Even after Talons fall, the work of Overwatch was not done; they were even busier if anything, returning to their once high point and being revered as heroes. They were tasked with protecting countries and people all across the world. But, their numbers had dwindled after the Talon Conflict, and thus the Heroes Initiative was created.

    That is where you come in. Having participated in months of training and trials conducted by members of the Overwatch organisation, you now find yourselves with invitations to the group, for the final part of your trial. Once arriving, you will finish training and then become full members of Overwatch, ready to be sent on missions and uncover the darkness returning in the world.

    The role play will begin with your characters arriving at Watchpoint Gibraltr. There will be a time where they can get to know each other before meeting the NPC cast of old Overwatch characters and being throw into their trials.



  • 1.All standard Iwaku rules apply.
    2. There will be violence and fighting in this RP.
    3. Romance is a-okay with me, just move it to PMs or fade to black if things get too spicy.
    4. Drama IC is fine, Drama OOC is not. Please be friendly with each other.
    5. At times, I will push the plot along with possible time skips or story advancements. Plenty of notice and discussion will occur before these happen.
    6. For FCs, use artistic depictions, such as anime or fantasy art. Makes it easier to picture the character in contrast to the games, I imagine.

  • On June 30th, 2081, the organisations of Talon and Overwatch engaged in a bloody conflict on the grounds of Watchpoint Gibraltar. After a failed strike at a Talon base, Overwatch had gathered at the Watchpoint to plan their next move, giving Talon the perfect time to strike. Led by the Talon elite of Doomfist, Reaper, Widowmaker and Sombra, an army of operatives descended upon the Watchpoint. Automated defences managed to hold them at bay for a while, but eventually a bloody conflict happened outside of Winston's research laboratory.

    The battle ended after many fell, the forces of Talon near destroyed. Reaper had slain his former friend Soldier: 76, but he himself had been cut down in turn by Genji Shimada. Ana and Fareeha Amari both fell to the precise aim of Widowmaker, who was captured later by Overwatch and is undergoing correctional therapy to return her humanity. Doomfist was captured by Overwatch, his weapon now in storage with the group, and the man himself now imprisoned in an undisclosed location. The remaining operatives, Sombra and Moira, managed to flee the combat. The two of them are still evading capture, presumably together, and are regarded as the single biggest threat to Overwatch.

    After the conflict, many members of Overwatch were left scarred and changed. Genji Shimada dissapeared from the organisation, later found within Hanamura reconciling with his brother. This left Overwatch at a great shortage of members.

    It is now 2084, and Overwatch are finally regaining enough strength to act in defence of the world, once again.

[OVERWATCH CRITERIA]

Weapon:
A skilled architech, Kaamil's refers to his weapons-of-choice as the Photon Lances. They are more accurately described as halberds of hard-light construction, generated by projectors built-in to the gauntlets of his power armor. Highly potent, they are capable of dashing through materials such as metal and brick, and even diamond given repeated applications of force. Notably, they interact with other instances of hard-light as if anathema, churning through them with disturbing ease.

With the right wielder, the Photon Lances are viable as implements in long-ranged combat, thrown as if javelins. They can be primed to go unstable, generally carrying a minor blast radius of around five meters or so upon hitting their target.

Abilities:

  • Lance: Primary mode of combat. Combinations of lunges and slashes expertly practiced and ingrained as if second nature.
  • Overload: Secondary application. Kaamil 'charges' a lance before hurling it, unleashing an explosive payload. Longer charge times increase potency and blast radius.
  • Dragoon: Power armor carries highly effective system of pneumatic propulsion, enabling Kaamil to leap massive distances. Highly taxing, this method of movement comes with a cooldown period.
  • Gungnir: Kaamil pushes the palms of his gauntlets outwards, generating massive amounts of hard-light that surge forward as if a gargantuan spear. Overclocks the projectors in his gauntlets, preventing the generation of lances for a time.

Reasons for Joining Overwatch:

A promising graduate of the Architech Academy, the Vishkar Corporation had always expected that Kaamil's facility with hard-light manipulation would be theirs to utilize. He was, perhaps, of a certain disorderly flair and erratic nature, but his own unique take on the craft was always perceived as being potentially useful in a field agent. His own forceful personality and ambitions, however, would not allow him to be content in furthering Vishkar's corporate interests.

And so, he instead opted to join Indian Army, having long romanticized the idea of fighting in the name of the nation that had been displaced by the Omnic Crisis. Uniquely talented, he was a spear, the vanguard, who fought valiantly in, rather typically, justice's pretty-sounding name. A well-scouted soldier and security expert, he was naturally approached by Overwatch in the wake of their member shortage.

Fighting Style: Terraforming.

Weapon:
The Matierra Rifle Mk III, a matter manipulation and reformation tool. This weapon is capable of deconstructing matter and repurposing it in different ways. It functions by breaking down non-living material (wood, for example, counts as non-living, but a tree is living), suspending the matter in a temporary state of nonexistence. The matter can then be reapplied into existence in a different form, like a wall, stairs, or even a crude melee weapon.

More durable surfaces – metal, rock, brick, etc. require more time to deconstruct, and the Matierra Rifle can be quite loud while deconstruction is taking place. The rifle has several constructive presets already loaded into its mainframe – stairs, walls, bullets / projectiles, etc. but any custom design would require time to engineer if not already pre-loaded. More complex designs, of course, would take more time.

The Matierra Rifle is capable of firing projectiles; the most effective are ones purposed from more durable materials, like metal or diamond, which allow for projectiles like bullets. Wooden and stone projectiles can be processed in a pinch, but typically aren’t effective against any moderately armored foe.

Stored matter remains in suspension within the Matierra Rifle for approximately three days. If not used, it is ejected in as close to its original state as the rifle can compose. Regular clearing of suspension reservoir is recommended in order to prevent unintended accidents while weapon is not in use.

Abilities:
  • Construct/Deconstruct: Primary mode of operation for Matierra Rifle. Deconstructs matter and repurposes it.
  • Propulsion Jump: Genevieve presses the Matierra Rifle directly against the ground when attempting to construct something. They had a shared passion for high fashion, and Genevieve was honored to assist in designing Amélie’s wedding dress for her wedding ceremony to Gerard. She was Amélie’s maid of honor.

At that time, Genevieve was also pursuing a dual degree in Civil Engineering and Information Systems at École Normale Superieure, one of the most prestigious universities in Paris. She graduated with honors, and had been intending to seek a position within Interpol. She was aware of Talon’s attempts on Gerard’s life, and believed that the international community needed to be informed so that they could take action.
Not more than a few days after her first interview at Interpol, Gerard was assassinated by Amélie, now turned into a living weapon by Talon and known by the callsign Widowmaker.

In the span of several weeks, Genevieve’s life had fallen apart. Two of her closest friends had been ripped from her, one by death and another by Talon. Upset, infuriated, and feeling betrayed that sweet Amélie could have turned into a heartless killer, Genevieve swore revenge and enlisted in Overwatch despite receiving numerous job offers from Interpol.

Distinguishing features: The majority of his body is cybernetics, but unlike humans who have received prosthetic limbs and organs, upon further examination one can notice that even the "organic" parts of his body seem unusual. The face, neck and parts of arms are made from organic material, but major organs like brain and eyes are still cybernetics.
Deployment Outfit:
Light or even civilian level clothing, all seemingly exposed skin is bionic skin covering cybernetic parts, these prosthetic are rigid and strong, can be used as shield or melee if ever needed. Malleability and softness is taken into account to adjust to hyper accelerated movements, while being resistant to friction and heat. The synthetic material is also specifically created to resist most chemical weapons especially the ones used by the wearer himself.

Supportive - Lorrian is a support not only in combat but also the daily lives of others, he has no problem with hearing out other's issues and frustrations while offering advice.
Cheerful - Most of the time he is a pretty cheerful person, even in battles he tends to smile. With a decent sense and understanding of humor written into his personality core, and child like tendencies.
Adaptable and Accepting - He is usually always calm no matter the situation, and can accept almost any bizarre or sudden situation without a question while reactivating to it accordingly.

[Negative Traits]
Self-doubt - Despite his happiness, Lorrian often questions whether his choices are corrects and what others think of those choices, he traps himself in multiple "what if" situations endlessly.
Mellow - His combatant role frustrates him as he experiences unpleasant memories and guilt trips when it comes to killing, both humans and Omnics, he is highly aware of this fact but is unable to get over his own weakness, which causes more frustration.
Complusive Lying - Seeing how his entire existence and public image is one huge lie, Lorrian has not issues with lying to others in situations that he seem fit, especially when it comes to his own identity, the ending results are usually mixed.

"Nobel Oath 004 System" (Combat knife, pistol, grenades combined with biochemical weapons)

[Abilities]
Armory Shift (Passive) - Switches between melee weapon (combat knife), long range weapon (pistol) and AOE weapon (grenades), all three weapons are used with custom chemical weapons as ammo.
Oath of Ruin - Represented by red packets, this is a powerful fluoridating agent with strong corrosion and burning effects. Created from a combination of fluorine and chlorine, it can set most materials on fire.
Oath of Serenity - Represented by yellow packets, a healing agent that recovers strengths and relives pain for allies, it stops bleeding and has adrenaline boosting effects.
Oath of Delusion - Represented by blue packets, a potent neurotoxin that can stun enemies and cause hallucinations for moments, used to slow or pause enemy movements.
Accelerated Probability (Ultimate) - Calls upon his former information analysis abilities, resulting in the ability to predict all future movements of enemies/allies in the next 20-30 seconds, while overloading cybernetic gear that results in extremely fast movement between allies/enemies while applying one of the three effects described above.

[Reasons for joining Overwatch]
Lorrian was an unfortunate victim during the Omnic Crisis at a young age, and had over 75% of his body replaced with prosthetic, he joined Overwatch in hopes of finding new medical technologies as well as helping others who are in a similar situation.
...Or at least, that's the story everyone is told.
Lorrian's true identify isn't human at all, not even an Omnic. He was developed as a caretaker and research A.I for a sickly young man named Lucienn, with access to the newest medical databases, thesis papers and equipped with the latest deep learning systems. He considered himself a real doctor, being programmed to do no harm and always strive to do the best for the world. His user soon passed away, but before that his owner uploaded him onto the web and shared him with his friends in hopes that Lorrian as a piece of technology can benefit more people. Although the arrival of the Omnic Crisis spelled disaster, as Lorrian was taken and controlled by a God Program, and was made into one himself under the code name "Asushunamir". With his access to biomedical databases he directed omniums to produce military omnics armed with chemical weapons, effective on humans but harmless on omnics. As the war raged on Overwatch was shutting down God Programs one by one, as the network of A.Is slowly died, Lorrian's original programming as a caretaker took back control.
He was confused, miserable and in fear, emotions that were not a part of his algorithms. as Overwatch and UN forces slowly closed in, Lorrian abandoned most of his administrative rights as a God Program, and escaped in a produced omnic. As a lost wanderer he traveled the world, suffering from his newly gain conscience and endlessly confused about who and what he is, and why are there people who want him gone so badly. Growing desperate he stumbled upon the Shambali Monastery, and was entranced by their teachings. Bit by bit he began to understand what has happened to him, his relation with humans, and the horrid things he has done in the past. Attempting to reconcile, he tried his best the help both humans and omnic alike but Talon's assassination of Shambali leader Tekhartha Mondatta, the painful truth was revealed to him. If some humans cannot even accept peaceful and innocent Omnics, what will they do to a former God Program like himself? Driven by fear and anxiety Lorrian came to one conclusion, in order to be accepted by humans, he will become one of them, he left the Shambali and used all his resources to partially forge himself a human body. As he joined Overwatch with this new form he continues on his path to repentance and acceptance.


[ADDITIONAL INFORMATION]
-He took on the form of a child to exploit the human nature of nurturing their offspring.
-His former deep learning system is still intact, thus he can pick up information really fast compared to humans.
-He is able to process food into energy, but only in small amounts.
-His artificial blood is made so that it can be transfused to any blood type as an emergency placeholder.
