The hatred between Shadowclan and Thunderclan has never truly been understood...until now. Going back, way before Bluestar, before evern her leader, tells the story of a serious breech of trust. Three kits are born to Thunderclan, two brothers and a sister. After the brutal murder of Ratpaw, a Shadowclan apprentice, Shadowclan doubts Thunderclan's loyalty to the Warrior Code, Ratpaw having been found on the border between Shadowclan and Thunderclan. As more and more warriors begin to disappear, and later found on the border, Thunderclan must look within itself to find the killer. And a new code is put in after one serious incident...

Silverpaw was born to Tinyflower and Ashtail of Thunderclan, along with his brother Rainpaw and his sister Flamepaw. He's vowed to be the best warrior (honestly, what apprentice doesn't say this?) of Thunderclan. But he has a great understanding of the code, even as a kit. He's a problem solver, and that fact was not wasted in his kithood. He was always poking around and annoying the warriors, pestering them about why kits couldn't be warriors. But now that he's become an apprentice, his story has just began.

He was born to Tinyflower and Ashtail of Thunderclan. While his brother and sister showed strong interest in the goings of the clan, Rainpaw did not. He was content with staying in or near the nursery. His mother often wondered if he'd make a better medicine cat than a warrior, but when questioned Rainpaw said he'd rather be a warrior.
During the naming ceremony, he looked about excited about it as he looked when his brother tried to get him to play; he didn't. In fact, he was so disinterested that the great warrior Stoneclaw wondered if his new apprentice even liked him.

Flamepaw, out of the three siblings, was always the best cat to go to understand a situation. Brave and strong, she no doubt would have made leader one day. But she, from day one, wanted nothing more to be a medicine cat. she was kind of a sickly kit, and spent most of her time in the Medicine Cat's den with the medicine cat himself, Greymint. she became close to him; closer than she could ever be with her paranoid mother. When the naming came, she was so proud of her brothers, and excited to finally follow her dream.​
