Isn't that the whole point? Take out your frustration on someone that you couldn't in real life without consequences.

I guess, but it sort of makes for unrealistic writing if an entire chunk of the population suffers from incurable a-holeitis contracted by needing someone's help on a job.

Ysir is only a prick when he reminds people of his wealth and power. Plus, isn't it stereotypical for a prince to be either very kind or very arrogant?

I guess? I meant it's kinda funny in the way that no one's met Ysir, but it's already established that he's an a-hole.
This feels like it would be a running gag in a TV show.

It's cos the Ysir guy is referred to as a rich prick by Arch's character. My character was using that in a mocking fashion to assert her dominance.

I can't say who is or isn't a dick quite yet seeing as how my character is still technically non existent.

Name: Tenax the Swamp Reaver

Race: Sobekian

Unique Power: As combat drags on, his skin toughens and he grows in size and strength. (Maxes out at about double size and skin toughness under normal circumstances, magically changes equipment size to match)

Age: 150

Height: 8'0"

Gender: Male

Equipment: Wields a scizore on main hand, with an aspis on off-hand. Wears a scaled fauld, plated leg guards, and an armored cowl. Arm wielding scizore has a plated pauldron with scaled sleeve worn down to the wrist. Shield arm wears fully plated armor. Upper body is normally bare except for an armored gorget covering both the neck and shoulders. In a pinch, his claws on both hands and feet can be used to attack

Likes: Meats (especially slow cooked ones), Stories, Dancing (prefers to have a dancing partner), Meditation, good drinks (whether alcohol or not, he LOVES pineapple juice)

Dislikes: Needless fighting, close-minded responses, breads

Fears: monster hunters, being shackled or muzzled, flying

Desires: Find out what he once was, embrace his status as the Swamp Reaver

Hobbies: Smithing (including making jewelry) and tailoring (all types of clothing)

Notable Skills: Swimming and Diving, Camouflage, Medicine (mostly on treatment of wounds and disease, focused on creation of medicinal aids), Survival Techniques (can subsist nearly anywhere), Massage (Both self and other), Hand-to-hand combat (skilled in throws and grappling), Geography, Tracking, Architecture

Education level: Highly literate, well read, skilled researcher, readily formulates testable hypotheses. Would hold the equivalent of a PhD in metallurgy and biochemistry. Skill at massage equivalent to today's therapists.

History: The first century of his life is unknown, both to him and his peers. He seems to have come from nowhere, appearing at the gates of an Anubian city in tattered, bloody rags, signs of amnesia evident. An Anubian family took him in, helping him regain the basic skills he required. He learned his tailoring from the husband and his smithing from the wife. His choice of weapon and shield developed almost immediately upon his adoptive parents' decisions to train him. It took him less than half the time to master the aspis and scizore, leading his parents to assume that the fighting style was the one he used prior to the event leading to his memory loss. They crafted the equipment for him, the same he wields to this day, though he has modified, repaired, and polished it to keep it working well.

He spent thirty years learning his trades and fighting style from the two Anubians. After that, he became a sellsword. His missions tended to be hunting groups that were encroaching upon Anubian and Sobekian lands. His tactics tended to focus upon hiding in the mud or sand, darting out to kill a target before returning to hiding. Most of the time, he was in the swamps. Other races started spreading rumors of this so-called Swamp Reaver while Anubians and Sobekians knew him as Tenax. Parties of adventurers and monster hunters were frequently sent to kill this "creature." Twenty years of this led to his distrust and general fear of monster hunters. He retired from mercenary work weeks ago, deciding to wander the lands and take note of what is going on between the races. He always returns home if given the chance and visits his parents as well as his manor. His friend keeps his estate clean and in order in exchange for her living there.

Everyone always ruins my jokes by trying to explain their actions...

Accepted! I really want to see a croc dancing with a dwarf. That would be funny to see!

And Sir, I really didn't see that as a joke. Sorry. :l

It'll be interesting to see if anyone will be Tenax's dance partner, especially if they know of the Swamp Reaver legend and know it's him

Shall I assume I have a green light to bring in the croc?

Alright. Also, threw in his height too since I forgot earlier.

Uh, I'm not sure why there are exclamation marks on my post. That wasn't on purpose.

Looks kinda cool considering he's a machine though...
Should I try to get rid of it?

Keep them, makes the error stuff nice and visualized

Awesome.

And like I said before, feel free to nickname him once he joins the party. I'll leave that to you, unless you want to call him a string of numbers and letters for the whole story.
And I tried to make it obvious he's more machine than emotional being at this point. He hasn't had much time to develop, but I think I got the feel of an AI pretty well. I didn't want it to feel exactly the same as an organic character but with the "I'm an AI" excuse. I wanted it to be obvious that he's artificial.

I'm already planning out a response from Tenax. I'm waiting on response to his entrance for the job first

Oh, yay, 347 just grabbed the cargo. Ysir isn't going to be too happy and with two armies marching this has to end quickly.

Anways, just ignore the errors.
