Walkers: The Fall of Midpoint

Rinne appeared to have materialized beside Bennett. Or rather, whom they could have assumed was Rinne. She looked different again, petite with a short blond bob and eyes that were blue in shade and green in light. She couldn't have looked more out of place in the Plane, not that it mattered to her.

She raised her hand in a gesture of respectful greeting to the locals. "You know this place, Bennett?" She then asked, turning to him.

He practically flew to the ground and once reached he stopped immediately hovering over it sparks surging along the floor before he set down to the floor smirking but it stopped when he noticed the people and rubbed the back of his head becoming immediately shy turning his back to them.

" Bennett knows everyone " he said rubbing the back of his head.

Bennett placed his hands on his lower back and leaned his top backwards and his bottom forwards, the motion soon followed by a series of cracking noises. "Oh, god, that felt good. Uh... Yeah, yeah, I've been here before. My Terramancy earned me the title of Turok, a Son of Stone. This," he said gesturing to the girl who had greeted him, "is Kiisa. She's the village Priestess. We are currently in Portal AOF3324, the planet Eridanus, outside of the western village of the Mau Haru, the Lost People." he cracked his neck in both directions and shook his head a little.

Rinne smiled, "All that I already know. The Sister tells." she reminded Bennett. Basic information like that was something they needn't discuss. The Sister was still able to connect with their souls in spite of the impending danger. She locked eyes with the priestess for a minute then spoke fluently in the native tongue. "I must escort Turok Bennett and his companions to Syr Chavin."

Normally, Balancers didn't have to do anything about the locals. Some Planes revere them as gods that must be left to do their sacred work. Some liked to investigate, but fear the wrath of gods. In this Plane however, the priestess is an almost all-knowing person and there is a custom to never leave your guests, as that would certainly be rude. Rinne saw all that and Chavin's location-a cave, not surprisingly- in Kiisa's eyes. Deciding it's best, she'll have to let the priestess and her small party accompany them.

"Well, lead on Kiisa." Bennett said, regarding the priestess. The girl, no more than 15 in appearence, nodded and walked toward where Chavin was. "Syr Chavin... is in... cave.. on mountainside... I will take you to... pasta? Grrr! Kaibellon chirantigra! Ki atsu hralandi, kamatol Engla!" she screamed, cursing the complexity of English. "Ugh. Follow." she commanded and stormed off, her white hair blowing behind her.

"You'll have to excuse Kiisa, she gets flustered very easily." Bennett explained to the group, before turning and following the young girl.

"Looks more like 'frustrated' to me." Rinne said with a small chuckle. She followed but directed her attention to her surroundings. Anyone could ambush them in this setting. They were very much exposed. She disliked having to be escorted when she knew where to go, unless the act had a different intention...

Kiisa led them further on toward the cave in which Chavin was located. The young priestess began looking sad as they moved further down the path, which had now become a narrow dirt road with sloping forest on either side. She stopped suddenly, and turned around to face the group. "Nideamo, Turok Bennett." she spoke softly, the words barely more audible than the wind gently blowing her hair.

A confused look struck Bennett's face. "Why are you sorry?" he asked her. And then it hit him. Literally. A chunk of granite about the size of his head came hurling out of the woods and slammed into the side of he head, followed by a dozen more rocks aimed at the others, and several large men wielding swords made of long teeth and clubs made of bone, charging straight for the group. The Terramancer hit the ground almost as hard as the rock thrown at him, managing to keep his consciousness long enough to see Kiisa turn and walk away, hear the faded sounds of his friends fighting.

And then it was dark.

"Bennett!" Rinne cried out, trying to fight off the ambush. She summoned a spell that blasted the attackers away for a few seconds, only to send them attacking full on. Theoretically, she and K would have managed on their own, however, her abilities were limited because of the problems of Midpoint and she was not competent in this type of setting. Add to the fact that there were certain pacifist laws that she may break if she fought back. Outnumbered, outsmarted and captured. Rinne surrendered diplomatically.

This was it...this is what he had to do...protect. He stopped in front of his downed friend and slammed. His hands together causing a rumbling thunder noise that seemed to shake the earth. His hair began to float as energy flew through him as quick as light. His eyes turning a deep blue color, he then smacked his hands on the ground and a large bolts of lightning erupted from him hitting the rather deadly enemies dead on. Sending them rattling back and shaking as the lightning surge through them. But he wasn't done there he continued to spark them trying to buy them some time

The warriors tried to stay away from Kuroi, keeping him away from them by jabbing their weapons at him and throwing rocks, while the others were recovering from Rinne's blast. They kept coming on, attacking fiercely. Sensing the difficulty, Kiisa turned around and was using some form of magic. Dark magic. Something that had corrupted her, changed her. No more was she the cute, quiet priestess of the Mau Haru, she had become one with the rival tribe that had befallen the same fate millennia ago. She had become a Mau Hari Priestess, a leader of the Corrupted People, the Dark Elves. She thrust her hands forward, a pale blue mist issuing from her palms. As the warriors inhaled the mystic fog, they fell to sleep, one by one. The same would happen to the three companions who had remained conscious.
