It's official. In one hostile take over that has been building in secrecy for years, Salem Industries now runs the world and everyone lives along with it. I just can't face it. Is there no safe place left? The corporate is killing anyone who acts out. Already there's a death count in the thousands, and that's just in one country. What will become of our planet?

There's a village. That's where we are now. There are rebels world wide. We found one of their outposts. It's safe here. The rebels are armed to the teeth. Hell, they even have me going through lessons on how to handle a gun. My older brother is better at it than I am, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Trent has just latched onto this life so easily... It's kind of scary actually, watching him like this. Ah well, it's just something else to get used to. I'm sure it will get better with time. It will, right?

Things are getting worse. Every time we think we're making progress against SI, they throw what we've dished out right back at us. It seems like it's hopeless. Slowly our camp is getting smaller and smaller. Soon, nothing will be here at all.

No, no, no, no!!!!! This can't be right! It just can't be! I told him not to go, but he wouldn't listen! Trent.... he... he went to help out a neighboring outpost.... it got bombed...I haven't heard from him yet, but I know he got out. He had to! He can't leave me alone!!

It's been ages since I picked this thing up, hasn't it? Well, Trent never came back. He was killed in the bombing. For a while there, I was distraught. I didn't know what was up or what was down. Finally, I threw myself into my training. Eventually, I left the outpost. I'm now out on my own. I'm going to wreak as much havoc as I can on the corporate goons. I'm currently on their hit list after a little mishap where they nearly caught me stealing food out of one of the general stores. I don't have their mark, I'm not allowed to shop. The things that have changed since I went into hiding nearly a year ago. I'm currently moving somewhere around Iowa. I'm looking for others... others seeking vengeance.... others seeking retribution.

Personality~ Nemesis used to be kind and caring. Until SI took over. She was forced to grow up and lost her innocence in the process. It didn't help when her brother was killed in a bombing by SI. She has now dedicated her life to eradicating Salem Industries. She doesn't take crap from anyone anymore and has developed a temper. She risks her life day after day trying to bring down the corporation that killed her brother, barely giving herself any time for rest.

4. Literacy. Learn the word. Love it. Because I do. I'm not going to go all grammar Nazi on you, just please... please... respect the English language... After all. I do not want to feel like I am being screamed at through text. I, however, will not murder you for one or two misspellings. Everyone makes mistakes. I understand this. Just, like I said. 5. One liners are the enemy. Can we have at least a paragraph? Is that too much to ask? If I see a single sentence post, I will go beyond flipping my shit. I understand writer's block is a common issue, just please don't drop below three sentences.
6. If you have read these rules in their complete glory, please put "Salem Will Fall" in your character sheet. If I do not see this, you do not get accepted. Plain and simple. I will tell you that you can have a place once you've read the rules.
7. All characters must be approved by me before joining the role play. This is to prevent stupidity and, once more, to prevent shit flipping.
8. Each person is allowed to have one character. Count them: one. You are only allowed to play rebels. All Salem Industries forces will be NPC's. So, I reiterate: one character.
9. If you are gone for more than a week without giving me a valid reason before you disappear, you will be removed from the RP. We're not all waiting on one person, we want to keep moving. If you are going on vacation or something tell me before you leave.
10. @Petricus Euryale has the same power I do. Listen to him like you'd listen to me. He's my fiance and partner in crime. His words are law just like mine are.

Personality~ More accustomed to this way of life than others would consider healthy. At a young age both of his parents were killed in front of him, and their killers took Ethan in and raised him to be a child soldier. As he grew up, Ethan rose up the ranks in the small militia band. He even ran a small diamond mine for three months before a government raid killed all of the miners. After the rise of Salem Industries, small militia groups were quickly rounded up and executed. Ethan managed to survive that. Since he has traveled across the globe, making his way from South Africa to America. He doesn't care about bringing down Salem Industries. War and death are all that he has known. Ethan just wants to keep surviving. Doing whatever is necessary.

Personality: Nick used to be a member of SI's military, but after seeing some of the atrocities committed by his comrades and himself, he planned an escape with some of his friends. It didn't go smoothly, and he was the only one to escape. Since then, he's been on the move, trying to survive. He's very guarded and secretive, not knowing who could want to kill him for either betraying the Industry, or having been a part of it in the first place.

Personality~ Raven is quiet, often seen as broody, and doesn't give up personal information easily. She will sometimes suprise others by shooting out a witty comment here and there, or making a sarcastic remark, but she usually keeps to herself and hides her sense of humor under a glare and crossed arms. She has an explosive temper. Her one weakness....puns. She laughs at all puns. Hysterically. Even if they're really bad ones.

History~ Raven was abandoned at birth in upstate New York, and taken into an orphanage. She was a troublemaker form an early age and got herself into juvie quickly. Once Salem came to power right before her 18th birthday, she escaped and got herself some weapons from a nearby pawn shop. She says she is only fighting to survive. But....a small part of her knows that she truly wants to help the rebels. She is convinced that Salem will fall.

I'm sure that she will get along well with someone like Ethan, whose life has lead to him being able to stay relaxed (though always aware and cautious) in dangerous situations,

I'd love to make a character! Quick question: what are the odds of a dagger-wielder being able to hold her own in a world dominated by guns? If it's not likely, I'll give her some firearms, but really she's a snipe/close-combat specialist.

Difficult, surely. But not impossible. I guess it would be most feasible to adopt guerrilla hit and run tactics. A long ranged alternative such as a sniper would allow her to take down other rifleman and point men to reduce the risk of enemy guns before sneaking up close for dagger-based combat.

If she has some particular reason for avoiding guns (such as a fear of guns, or a code of conduct, or honor) then, while making her life more difficult, it could add to her as a character and provide plenty of opportunities for her to grow. Maybe it's as simple as not having learnt to use them or had access to them (I myself live in the UK and have never seen a real gun so it's not that unrealistic) and she could eventually learn to.

But at the end of the day it is up to you. If you can write for her proficiently enough as only using daggers against guns without bad physics, or powers, or anything then go ahead. It will certainly be a challenge, particularly when playing with other people's characters. Notably this roleplay seems to be intended for a gritty, realistic feel so it should be interesting how you handle some situations.

This is interesting. I always love some good old corporate apocalypse. I just have some questions about how the story is planned to go. Like what would be the characters goal, well besides taking down SI. Not to be rude but, like 10 ten can't really take out a world power. Are we going work with the all the rebels? I'm curious as what you had in mind? Also, what was the location this will take place in?
