He let out a short, sharp breath through his nose, closing his eyes somewhat as he listened to the lullaby she was humming, the hands running through his fur serving as a calming, relaxing motion. A purr vibrated once again in his chest, the fur alonng his spine bristling somewhat.

Vampires didn't really need to sleep, not really. They had healing sleeps according to what little Jezebel knew but she was always careful so she never had a reason for one. They could sleep if they wanted to but it was more of a meditative trance than a proper, restful sleep. Still that was what Jezebel did. She leaned against the wall and closed her eyes, uncaring of how undignified she might look but she honestly didn't care.

"How cute. You picked up a stray." Iridia's darkly amused voice broke through her sort-of sleep.

Jezebel opened her eyes, giving the other girl an unimpressed look. "Iridia."

The fox's ears twitched, the appearance of the other vampire. He yawned, licking his paws and wiping his eyes. He shook himself out and glared up at this new vampire. It was the other one he'd seen earlier. "Stray? I'm no fucking stray!" He barked, fur bristling, tail flicking behind him with irritation. He allowed a low growl to settle in his throat as he adjusted his position on Jezebel's lap, eyes remaining fixed on This so called 'Iridai' the whole time.

"I wouldn't call you a stray." Jezebel answered maliciously. "Although you do seem like it, tailing me all the time."

Iridia's eyes flashed with anger but she didn't answer. Disappointed, Jezebel returned to petting Codak's head.

There was an awkward silence as Jezebel continued to ignore the other vampire's presence while Iridia stared at her.

"The master has requested your presence." Iridia finally said, her tone sulky.

The fox snorted, tucking his muzzle between his paws, the tip of his tail flicking from side to side. He began to fidget slowly as the awkward silence followed.

His head raised again when one of the vampires finally spoke. His ears twitched, head tilting to the side in curiosity.

Jezebel stops petting Codak, her hand stilling just above his fur. She seldom gets summoned. She looks too young that people tend to overwrite her for missions and the young body doesn't inspire loyalty or awe like he does which means Jezebel usually stays away, happy to keep wandering around, occasionally uprooting herself to yet another town where she was just one in a million faces in the crowd.

"Fine." Jezebel's tone is flat. "Lead the way."

Codak scrambled to his feet, standing up, his gaze switching between the two vampires. Whatever was going on, he wanted to be a part of it. He didn't exactly have anything better to do, and... Well, he was pretty curious now. He just had to know what was going on.

Jezebel had initially set Codak down before following Iridia without so much as a goodbye to the animal. They were probably half a block away from the house when Iridia stopped. "Send your mutt away." Iridia scowled as the fox cub followed behind them.

Jezebel merely raised an eyebrow at Iridia before glancing at Codak. "Shoo." She said and then shrugged. "Didn't work." Jezebel continued walking, her dress flouncing along with her steps as Iridia scowled harder.

"Stay away from me. And stay away from Jezebel." She warned the mutt.

He flattened his ears against his head and let out a snarl as Iridia turned to address him. He sped up quickly, trotting forewards to walk next to the nicer vampires heels, tilting his head back slightly to look at her. It was pretty obvious that he wasn't going to go away. He had set his mind on following, and there was nothing That was going to change his mind.

Eventually Jezebel sighed. She and Iridia could definitely move faster but she had been walking at a human's pace for Codak's benefit. She stopped before squatting down to be close to eye level with the fox cub. "You're slowing us down. I'm going to carry you so that we can move faster." She informed the fox cub.

Iridia snorted from behind her. Jezebel didn't need to see the woman's face to know that she disapproved but honestly she didn't care about the other vampire's opinion.

He nodded his small copper brown head and jumped quickly into the vampires arms, castingn another glare towards Iridia. She gave Jezebel's chin a quick lick, flicking his tail a few times.

"That's disgusting Codak." Jezebel told the fox cub, rubbing away the slobber. She had watched him eat a rat earlier and the fact that he had just licked her was just gross.

But she tightened her grip on the animal before she and Iridia sped up, their speed much faster than humans as they slipped past the crowds of humans and towards a large towering building.

His ears pinned to the side of his head, fur ruffling as the wind whipped past, whipping his tail around. Wow. He never knew vampires could go so fast!

He had to close his eyes after a few seconds, as they had began to water.

Jezebel had set Codak down once they had reached the large, forbidding building. "I'd recommend you stay outside. Most of the folks here don't mind a little animal blood." She told him, an amused grin spreading across her face.

She wasn't lying though. Most of the vampires were at the point where they didn't care who or what they fed on as long as it was blood. There was even a yearly hunt out to the forests across the world to go hunting for bear blood. Not that Jezebel had ever went since she was a firm believer in drinking only human blood.
