The Blood That Binds Us is a post-canon Vampire Knight roleplay. Conceptualized and developed by Hana, the roleplay will feature the supernatural world of Vampire Knight - and go beyond what is seen in the manga. Suspense will be rife in the glamorous and mystical world of the vampires, the gritty yet relatable lives of the hunters, and the sometimes insignificant, sometimes changing parts that even the normal humans play. Romance is also encouraged and accepted, but not the primary focus of the roleplay. It aims for the darkly romantic, the atmospheric suspense, at times both touching and saddening. Follow the lives of the people left, so long after the aftermath of Vampire Knight.

Date: June 10, 1000 (Evening)
Location: Courtyard

Reiner stood all by his lonesome on one of the column corners of the courtyard. He had returned from an urgent crisis in the comfort room. With the tip of his parasol tapping still on the magnificent flooring of the educational institution, he stood by as the Headmaster concluded his second wave of introduction and history of the school. This was followed by the invitation to a glamorous ball. The perfect break to converse more with the students as well as his fellow educators. He closed his eyes, humming and nodding in agreement to an exciting event that will happen in the midst of nightfall.

With the commencement finally drawn to a close, the Day and Night students were huddled and toured to their dorms by their resepctive faculty members, namely Mr. Inkyu of the Day Staff and Ms. Milaia of the Night Staff. The rest of the personnel, him included, were summoned by Kazuki Cross for a small meeting.

Location: Staff Room

Reiner materialized in front of the opened the solid wooden doors leading to the spacey staff room. Several teachers were already in the area of congregation. He could discern the unease in the room, particularly from some of the rather threatening appearances of the educational workforce. There was a long-haired red-eyed man who at first glance, positively resembled a vampire aristocrat. On the other side was someone whose level of enigma surpasses Reiner's own. Donning a cloak and a malevolent mask with piercing and glowing red eyes, this man has the appearance of a serial killer not unlike those from modern horror flicks.

... And he was EXACTLY the first person Reiner approached, in his usual cheery demeanor.

"Hey there, big fella!"

It was as if the malevolent-masked man was just an acquaintance of his. How typical of Reiner. Complete with a waving hand and a gleeful beam, he made sure that the enigmatic figure noticed him as he began his introduction.

"Name's Reiner! Reiner Weisenhart. A pleasure to meet you on this fine, dandy evening."

Having talked to Kikena just to see what new ilk of vampires were showing up at the school, Trevor had made his way off. For as much as he favored solitude over interacting with others, even fellow staff! He still had some obligations that even he couldn't turn down. Which is why he made his way to the staff room just like all of the others. But he did of course make his way to a corner where there weren't many other people crowding the damn place. He would have been content to simply sit in silence but then someone just had to approach him.

Slowly turning his head to face Reiner, Trevor glanced downward and the lights on his mask glowed rather brightly as smoke hissed out from the side.

But despite all appearances and how reclusive he may have been, Trevor was by no means a bad man. He just despised vampires.

"...Trevor. Trevor Kovich's the name."

Well, introductions were out of the way. Could Trevor get back to what he'd been doing? Which had been standing in this corner watching the world go by. No, of course it wouldn't be that easy.

"...Yes, nice to meet you as well."

"Oh, there's no doubt about that. The only one who can beat me, is me." Akio sent Akihiko a cocky grin as if to taunt him. He was almost too confident, and Okita would have heard that comment more than once. "Okita beats me sometimes, but it's extremely rare," he added as a tease, sending her a grin. When Akihiko said no, he pouted a little but didn't make a fuss. After all, it did look quite heavy and he didn't want to embarrass himself.

"It looks like this party is finally getting started!" Akio said as he turned to look at the Headmaster, the slightest hint of excitement in his voice. He listened carefully, anticipation growing in his stomach. A ball? Well that sounded like a great place to socialize. Even though Okita didn't show it, he could tell she was excited as well. Probably debating what to wear, he thought with a snicker.

"I think that's our cue to leave. Shiki-san, Tsuruoka-san, maybe we'll see you there." Akio glanced to them, smiling, before reaching to take Okita's arm. "My darling and I have to go see the Day Class dorms. They wouldn't let us share a room together..." He said with a dramatic sigh before grinning and sending another wink towards Sayuri. "We shall be off!"

The amber eyed male began to tug Okita towards the other white haired teacher, whom Akio was already looking over in interest. When the other stated that he was teaching French, his eyes went wide. "He's teaching French! And he's pretty cute too... I wonder if he swings both ways...?" He sighed deeply, wondering if he'd ever find someone to love at this new school. Though he probably shouldn't be going for teachers anyway.

Finally they were doing something. After the weird creepy guy with a mask had left, Kikena had peace for a bit until the Headmaster made his announcement. A ball? I suppose that makes sense. It would give other people a chance to socialise, while she would likely try to stay out of people's way. However there would likely be a few people wanting to dance, and as her duty to her family she would dance with them. As long as I don't see her...

Walking along with the Night Class students, she tried not to think about how much she likely stood out. It was probably only her imagination, but besides the twins, she was probably the outcast. It was always cold around her, like some kind of protective cloak to keep people away. She liked it though, as it meant people didn't bother her as much.

Kikena kept her parasol up, trying to avoid looking around as she knew she'd spot the one person she didn't want to see. Sayuri was in the crowd somewhere... However the blonde knew they would have to interact at some point. She just prayed that they didn't share any electives, as they were smaller classes and there would no doubt be more than a little interaction.

"Enough talking for now, Masaru." After Lihua had moved away, he led his sister towards the gathering of vampires. He kept to himself, making sure not to get too close to the others, lingering near the back. He could already see some of them shrinking away as they neared, some of the Aristocrats turning to stare or either avoiding eye contact all together. It was normal for them, normal for people to shy away from them. Even if they had seen Kin a million times, standing to attention beside his father, Yoshiaki Shirabuki, as his heir. He managed things with his father, kept the family and the servants in check. Made deals in the dead of the night.

On the other hand, Masaru wasn't allowed out much. Kin always thought it unfair, and he knew she did too even if she never said it. Who wouldn't? When one twin was allowed to be 'free', while the other was locked up in their own home like a prison. For people to stare at the youngest of the Shirabuki was completely feasible. "Shall we go see our rooms, Masaru?"

@Hana (Sayuri Shiki)
He watched as Akio and Okita moved towards the tanned Day Class teacher, his shades reflecting what little rays were coming from the setting sun. Good riddance, the swordsman had never met someone so strange before. One moment collapsed on the floor and the next being all lovey-dovey with his betrothed. Sighing, he passed his sword over to his free hand. It would be best if no one touched the weapon. He walked with Sayuri towards the Night Class teacher that had been introduced as Ms. Milaia. A teacher in Economics and Home Economics? He was in both of classes! The teacher seemed very joyous at the new students. He could tell she was someone not a lot of people would dislike. Grinning, he paced up to keep in line with the other Night Class students, turning to see if his female companion was coming as well.

"Maybe you should not be teaching me how to play music, but instead how to read humans." He grumbled as he pointed at himself, "I am quite horrible at it, and I see you agree with that statement. He shook his head, humans were hard to understand. Emotions were flying all over the place, and Akhiko was used to composed vampires. If it wasn't joy, it was anger. There was no sadness in the Tsuruoka clan, except rare occasions. Images of that dark night appeared in his mind again, making Akihiko frown. Impatiently he pushed them away back deeper into his memories, burying it. Was that moment sad or angry? No, he shouldn't look so gloomy on his first day of school. Not to mention he had managed to make a new friend. From the corner of his eyes he looked at Sayuri and her flaming hair. "I only knew human children. They are not children," he added with a lighthearted shrug.

Lihua fell silent as the Headmaster spoke, noting the upcoming welcoming ball. She smiled to herself, she had brought her old dancing clothes with her from the teahouse that was once home. They were big on her when she was younger, but thankfully they still fit snugly. The girl wondered if she would stand out too much, as the clothing was brightly colored and had splashes of crimson red - the color of luck and fortune. She hadn't been able to dance her old dances for years, she was rusty. Practice would be good for old bones, muscle memory was there to help.

Hearing one of the teachers call out for the Night Class students, she glanced at the twins before bowing respectfully. "I need to go now, but it was nice to meet you!" Or, at least, it was nice to meet Masaru. The older brother was stand offish, still avoiding looking at her and wearing the most bored expression she had ever seen. She should at least be a little more polite. "Maybe... I can see you soon in class?" She wouldn't mind seeing Masaru again, but if she had the choice... she would rather not. She looked more forward to meeting the other Aristocrats, since they were less... harmful. "Let's have a great year together, Masaru and Kin~" she beamed before skipping away to follow the slowly moving line of students tailing Ms. Milaia. Lihua had gotten the chance to meet her before the other students, due to being at the school a few days early. She was kind and generous, so unlike the vampires she had heard stories from. A genius at cooking, Lihua wondered if she could be taught any tips in Chinese cooking she didn't already know.

Looking around her, she spotted a myriad of vampires, all having their own distinct features. A lady with a parasol seemed to be obviously avoiding someone else in the crowd, another young man wearing the traditional kimono made her smile, the familiar clothing stood out. He wore long hair like many Asian men did, tied up into a ponytail but kept clean. A long sword was held at his side protectively. Wasn't it heavy? Standing not far from him was a woman who looked like supermodel with her startling hair. It was a deep pink, almost bordering a deep violet.

Ayana was quick to shake her head no when he asked if he was boring her, she was genuinely enjoying her conversation with her. He was nice to her, and he was pretty easy to talk to. If everyone was like him she was hopeful that she would make a lot of friends, but nothing in life was that easy after all.

"Your friend didn't want to come with you to the Institute?" She questioned her eyebrows knitting the slightest bit before she continued, "Why did you decide to come to this school if you knew you would be all alone?" She asked knowing full well that she had put herself in the same predicament, she just wanted to know his reasoning.

"I'm not looking forward to getting them at all," She answered honestly, she'd never worn them before, and she was in no way shape or form looking forward to learn how to wear them, "But thank you," She was going to say more, but it was now that time as a teacher from the day class came over to round them up. She bent down grabbing her bags off of the ground once more as she fell into line with the other students. "Maybe we'll have an elective class together."

"I'd like to swing you two ways."

Okita said deadpan, pulled by her friend though even the usual snipe had less fire then usual. She was thinking about that Vampire Idol.... And not what she said.

But rather what she didn't. Same with the others, all of which she supposed she would find out later. That, she sighed inwardly was the drawback of coming from a family of coppers. You started to see patterns even where none might be.

"Meet you at the ball later? I'm just going to pack a few things just in case."

And maybe a call to her uncle too...

He considered the second question carefully first, before he spoke. His expression thoughtful as he accompanied her.

"Its an obligation to my family name. I must be the best I can, therefore I must be here."

There was nothing in there concerning himself though... As well as nothing about his friend. Swiftly changing the subject, he crouched slightly to pick up one of Ayana's bags, helping her load as he spoke.

"I'd like that. Er... Will I see you at the student get-together later?"

Normally he'd tinker in the garage, more at home in oil-stained jumpsuits then a dress jacket. That and honestly, he was terrified. He wasn't one for most large social gatherings. If she was there, at least he'd have someone to be awkward with...

Kei was shaken out of his Vampire paranoia when He heared the word Ball. "A ball?" Kei looked confused then genuinely smiled. 'Wow must be great to be able to relax and have fun whenever you want. Cross must be a confident headmaster to trust all these vampires with penned up cattle.'

Kei followed the other members of day class to meet their point person. At first glance he seemed more like someone's part time worker, bum uncle. As he spoke he pretty much confirmed he was no good. He then made a joke about not biting, he then pointed to the female vampire showing night class to their dorm. "Tsk" Kei let his facade drop as he rolled his eyes at his guides joke.

Kei quickly recovered just as one of the humans looked his way. 'This is lame, I could be scouting the terrain, surveying the land. Finding weak points in the enemy's defenses.' Kei raised his hand, he smiled and spoke. "That's funny Sir, however I have quick question." Kei cleared his throat. "Are we just going to the dorms now or will we be given a tour of the campus?"

Kei felt everyone's eyes on him he kept his facade up, smiling at the bum like teacher. He waited for a response, if not he'd have to scout on his own during their rest time. He didn't want to be stuck in a ball room with Vampires without knowing every possible escape route.

"Headmaster." Alucarn was aware of the several ways on how one could greet another depending on your familiarity with them in this part of the world but the simple greeting in titles for those of higher ups often best worked with him. Just as he would refer to a peer as Mr, Ms, Mrs, or in the case of him greeting as the better to a female student, Miss.

At any rate, Alucarn walked slightly behind the headmaster as they were finally able to get within some shade near the building of the institute. Though it would only be bright for a short while longer, it was still good to finally be going inside for a good many students and teachers. Admittedly, him being one of those people.

The headmaster was one of the few people who rivaled him in height so they did not exactly blend in with when they stood by one another. "I had wanted to discuss about the ball..." Though it was more of an expected routine with him at this point.

He often went over when he could about the possible security measurements for the ball and him possibly being part of that security measurement. If only so he did not have to participate in the ball in the way most others did. Sometimes he was allowed to be somewhat more distant in the ball. The only actual change that happened for him for a more secure role as supposed to socializing was him standing lingering toward the walls of the ball or near the refreshments.

Other times the Headmaster insisted that he "mingle" with the other students and even teachers if possible. This included dancing with a mix of people and simple conversing with them. He was no stranger to such things, quite the opposite in fact given his early years in his home country. He simply preferred not to if at all possible.

The concealed countenance of the stalwart boasted a metallic-ish deep voice. The unusual glow of the masked-man's red eyes combined with smoke hissing out from the metal veil helped in selling the genuine warning on Trevor's form that basically said: "Approach, if you dare.". However, despite everything, the vampire hunter didn't seem to bear ill-intent towards Reiner. If anything else, he could sense that the towering figure just wanted to be left alone. A good twenty seconds had passed as they continued their meager "stare-off". After that, a childish grin escaped the white-haired young man's lips as he excused himself with his next statement.

"Well then! Here's to a unique and exciting school year!"

Turning around and raising his hand for a waving gesture, Reiner had left Trevor to his own business, heading towards the regal-looking couch and slowly making his seat. He scanned the area once more. There was a fellow human adult naively enjoying his seat on the swivel chair. "What a quirky one...", Reiner pondered, crossing his legs while awaiting the Headmaster to arrive. The staff had quite the eccentric people. Guess it isn't all too surprising, considering the academy's accepted races.

"Goodbye, and see you in class, Fei-san!" Masaru lifted her hand again, waving as the other girl bowed and turned away. Her waving only ceased when the other girl had disappeared into the crowd of Aristocrats, letting out a light sigh. It looked like even a stranger like Fei Lihua would rather not stay with her or her big brother. But she had high hopes. She hoped that the grey-haired girl would be able to see that she and her brother weren't as bad as they seemed to be. Weren't she and Kin just a girl and a boy? A girl and her brother? But now it looked like the Headmaster had finished speaking. The fair-haired girl cocked her head, she hadn't even listened to any part of that speech... Her eyes flickered up towards the taller form of her brother. "Hai hai, nii-san~" With a good-natured pout towards Kin she finally fell silent, her hand momentarily tightening around the long digits entwined with hers.

The Aristocrats were quiet around her and her sibling, eyes most often cast away from their direction, as if trying to avoid looking at them. The only ones who were avoiding looking at them were the ones who stared, stared with strange expressions on their faces. She smiled at them warmly, hoping to at least... Make a good im - impression on them like her father would have wanted. The few who looked turned away, but not to be deterred, she looked around and noticed another one standing somewhat... Away from the group. The girl didn't know how to describe it, but the tall, blonde-haired girl she saw with a pretty parasol with patterns like snowflakes looked like she was still away from the group. Even if she was walking in the group. Then there was that girl with the pretty red hair, talking with a boy with the longest hair she saw - on a boy.

She let her gaze rest on them, curious, before looking up at Kin as he spoke. "Okay. What will our rooms be like, nii-san? Can you stay in my room later?" He usually went to her room in their home, so would going to Cross Institute change things? "You're going to help me change into my dress, anyway." She ducked her head down and smiled, remembering the blush on his cheeks when they talked about the subject earlier. "Milaia-sensei is so nice, isn't she? Sayuri's gaze followed the two receding figures as they walked away, an amused half-smile still on her lips as she also headed to her own group of Night Class students. Even from here, she could see the animated way the two hunters were talking to each other. That boy, Akio Fukui, in particular looked almost fun to talk to. If only because he wasn't like those hunters who she used to have to deal with in her concerts sometimes, sniffing around as 'security' when it wasn't in any of their rights to poke their noses into the media industry like that. At least that hunter boy looked like he didn't hold anything against her just because she chose a job she actually loved. Once the two were back with their own group of Day Class students, she turned and arched a brow at the boy she was left with.

She walked a little faster to keep up with his long strides, catching him look to see if she was still with him. "Read humans? I think you mean read people." He really did unknowingly walk into that painful introduction to Okita Goro's heel earlier. Sayuri pursed her lips and shook her head, surveying the disgruntlement on Akihiko's face. "... But if Tsuruoka-kun asks for me to help him, who am I to say no?" Finally, with a teasing note in her voice she tilted her head, leaned forward, and poked one finger against his cheek. "The first thing Tsuruoka-kun must know is to never make unflattering comments about a lady's appearance, alright? It would save him a lot of pain."

Flashing him a slightly sharper smile than normal she pulled back her hand, crossing her arms and looking straight ahead. "Reading people, sadly, Tsuruoka-kun, is not as easy as learning music or swordsmanship." And there were certain people who were harder to read than others. Despite her suspicion of Akihiko growing up in a traditional household that espoused hiding emotions behind composure, his emotions were actually easy to read. Then there was someone like Kikena... Or even those Purebloods. Feeling a gaze rest on her she immediately looked around, before spotting the female Shirabuki twin looking at her before turning away. Sayuri blinked. "And there are some who don't want to be read. Remember that."

"Well aren't you just the nicest person," Akio said sarcastically, shaking his head with a smile. He noticed that she wasn't as snappy as usual, however didn't mention it. Might be nervous, he thought, shrugging internally. Might be about the vampires. Akio didn't really know, he couldn't read minds. Even though they were best of friends, it didn't mean he knew everything she was thinking about.

With a loud sigh, he focused on the teacher. He didn't mind white hair overall, and his physique was very nice. Plus he was teaching French, the language of love. Did he swing both ways? He'd probably have to ask sooner or later, and he sure didn't mind asking in class. Probably would piss off Okita though, but that was fun. Besides the painful parts. Either way, he had to know.

"Going to meet a boyfriend? So soon?" Akio teased, tsking at her. Despite the fact they had practically been at each other's side the whole time. "But yes yes, I will grace you with a dance later since you keep asking me," he added with a grin. "And I'm curious about my roommate. I hope it's not that guy. He seems... Kind of stuck up?" Akio pointed to the one who had just spoken, a young male with white hair and seemed to be a part of the Kiryu line. "Oh well. We'll see."[/fieldbox]

There were eyes on her. She could feel it. However Kikena refused the urge to turn around, because it might've been Sayuri. But it didn't feel like Sayuri. And the eyes only lasted a second. There was basically no point to it anyway.

The teacher seemed nice at least, yet the Ice Queen didn't have any classes with her she was sure. She wouldn't have minded, as long as she wasn't asked too many questions. Kikena was smart, and she could answer questions, but having the entire class'; eyes on her was unnerving and she didn't like it. But teachers were teachers, and she couldn't control that.

Sighing softly, the girl moved just a little bit closer to the rest of the pack. The ones that knew what had happened shifted uncomfortably, but other than that it was fine. However even just that subtle shift was enough to put her nerves on edge. What were they thinking of her? Was it something bad? Probably. She tried hard not to think about them, but it was hard with her insecurities. She just had to get through the first day, and everything would get better. She hoped. [/fieldbox]

The man peered down at a list of names and photos, checking off each one as he spotted the new Day Class students coming over to his side of the courtyard, chattering and laughing. Every once in a while he would be calling out names, catching the attention of some students. They all stared at him as if he had just appeared out of thin air. He liked that very much. Everyone was called for. With a skip in his step, Mr. Inkyu followed the slowly disappearing line of Night Class vampires with his own group in tow. Even though he was clearly leading the group, it was obvious that he was trying to strike up or join conversations with the newcomers.

He looked at a particular young man with hair as fair as his was. A member of the Kiryu family, anyone could have seen that in the hunter. He raised an eyebrow at his question, even if he was trying to hide it Mr. Inkyu could see his impatience. Another one of those hunters who didn't have much love for being together with vampires, it wasn't uncommon to see at Cross Institute. "Monsieur Kiryu, 'm sure you can 'scout' the area as much as ya like durin' your free time." He wagged a finger at him teasingly. "I know ya want to explore n' stuff, but for now I needa show you where you're going to be sleepin' tonight. But yes, I will be your lovely tour guide for the evening and show ya everything. Almost." The teacher smirked at him before turning his attention to a couple walking together near the back.

"Pick up the pace, le lambin!" he shouted at Ayana and Arthur. He instantly noticed the way he had picked up one of her bags, like a true gentleman. Charming, he liked a boy with manners. "As much as ya slowpokes want to have some quality couple time together, we have a dorm to get to!" The French teacher winked at them mischieviously, his voice lowering to a croon. "You can have fun together in the dorms, know what I mean?"

It wasn't long until the road ahead split into two, forking off left and right. The other group turned towards the right, disappearing down a long bridge that stretched over a giant lake that expanded as far as the eye could see. Crystal clear waters sparkled as the sun began to lower in the sky, shapes of light dancing across the surface. Mr. Inkyu made a left turn, diverging from the other group. "You see, this entire campus is surrounded by forests n' gardens, and some random woods. Not allowed to venture that far out 'less ya a hunter, because we dunno what's out there all the time, ya know? That's the dorm gate right 'ere."

He pointed at what looked like a watchtower in the middle of the bridge, standing tall and proud like a checkpoint. The doors were wide open, however, but he quickly made a point. They were usually closed and guarded by guardians or hunters on rotation, only allowed to be opened to let students in or out to attend their appropriate classes? Day Class students were not allowed to pass through the dorm gates, nor were Night Class vampire allowed just roam into the Sun Dorm.

vampireknight-wikia.jpg

"See that? That's the Sun Dorm. Pretty cool place, amirite?" He pointed at the building appearing in the distance, the trees parting to show a rather large horseshoe shaped building. Two long buildings were connected with a much smaller building, with watchtowers serving a the corners. It was painted a warm cream color with dashes of red and orange, reflecting a sun motif. Wasn't called the Sun Dorm for no reason. Despite its simple outer appearance, Mr. Inkyu knew they were going to be surprised by the extravagence hidden inside. "See that white building all the way across the lake? That is the Moon Dorm, for them bloodsuckers. Whole point is to be far away from where they sleep, ya know? We both gotta be safe." He noted the two buildings that flanked the Sun Dorm, much smaller but just as homey looking, with the one on the right looking far smaller than the one on the left. "On the left we hav' the dorm for the Day Class teachers. If ya ever need me, or any Day Class teachers, we're in there sleepin' our butts off. On the right, we hav' the Headmaster's Dorm. Not a good idea to disturb him, he a busy man."

He crossed his arms, turning around to look expectantly at the students. "Avez-vous des questions?"

Meanwhile, with the students destined for the Moon Dormitories, Miss Milaia was going through a similar routine or calling the students' names. Every time one student replied and confirmed their presence, a warm and sunny smile was directed their way before she moved on to the next name. The Night Class students were much less in number compared to the Day Class, making it finish up quickly. The students were at ease, or somewhat at ease, with the easy way the teacher addressed them as they headed to their destination.

Finishing that part she nodded quickly looked around at the students, smiling with pleasure at seeing how some were able to find someone to talk to and walk with. But she noticed one student looking quite alone. It was the young Aido heiress, Kikena Aido. The young lady looked quite alone among the students that walked around her. The Night Class teacher knitted her brow slightly, that was slightly concerning. Another girl who didn't seem to have many people to talk to was Fei Lihua. She was quite different from the other vampire students, being an ex-human.

Where the other ex-human was, Milaia had to check. He was far, far behind the rest of the group, making his way at his own pace.

Veering towards the right at the fork in the path, the group of vampire students soon crossed over the first half of the bridge and towards the dorm gate for the Moon Dorms. "As you all know, our Sun and Moon Dorm areas are separated by that lake," she pointed to the lake in the distance, far past the larger body of water the two bridges crossed over. "Most of the area around the residential buildings for both you students and us staff is surrounded by forest grounds, and it's not recommended - even if you are vampires - to wander around those areas, alright?"

There was an old vampire at the dorm gate, who looked up at them with an almost suspicious gaze and a frown in his aged-looking face. His frown faded slightly as Milaia greeted him, bowing respectfully to the old man. "Hello, sir! This is the first and new batch of our vampire students, and I'm showing them to their residence here in our campus~ I won't make too much of a commotion and just show them there, don't worry."

"Alright then, ma'am. Come in." The gates were already open, and Milaia waved the students on to follow her as they covered the second half of the bridge. The school and the residential areas where really quite expansive, if one thought about it. Cross Institute stood on a large and private piece of land that spanned forest and even an entire lake and a portion of river. Once they left the bridge, they walked a lonely yet spacious path that had emerald green trees and forest on either side.

latest

And finally, they came upon the large and palatial building that would house the vampires students. Towering above them at at least three stories high, with high tower-like extensions, the building was painted a distant and elegant, yet simple white. The roofing was a dark gray color, giving the building an elegant yet austere appearance that stood out from the forest of green surrounding it.

At the entrance or entryway of the building there was an open space, for the vampires to hold their events among themselves. Miss Milaia stopped at the steps leading up to the area with the columns, and smiled at the students. "Shall I show you to your designated rooms? This building is fully staffed to attend to your needs, but you may also use the facilities within your own rooms to help yourselves."

"As you know, the Purebloods have a section of suites that are for themselves at the upper floors. The Aristocrats and other students are going to room with each other, by pair and gender, in their rooms." This was actually a stipulation that was seen as the norm in vampire society, the Aristocrats were loyal and often deferred to giving the best treatment to the Purebloods. "Any questions~?"

As the students were herded away by their respective Day and Night staff, the remaining staff were making their way to the main building, about to retire to the Headmaster's office. The Headmaster walked at a prim but nearly leisurely pace, merely glancing and nodding at the teachers who greeted him.

The Aristocrat vampire he had accepted as a teacher at the school caught up to him. He merely continued on walking, waiting for him to speak.

"No, but attendance and participation is necessary for this opening, Mr. Tepes. I thought I had made this clear in the instructions for the staff. It would be rather preferential treatment towards one staff member if I turn back on those requirements." The headmaster glanced at the dark-haired man with a slightly raised, slender golden brow. He looked serene and calm after his long introduction, though now that he was finished with welcoming the students in that speech his voice was now quite inflectionless. His blue eyes were reflective of the Aristocrat vampire's image, unjudging but weighing.

The teachers were the most crucial to make their appearances in this ball.

2vnf7fm.jpg

Day and Night Class staff walked past them, some chattering among themselves. "Taking Miss Milaia out for the ball this evening, aren't you, Jay?" A reddish-brown haired young-looking man walked with a clearly human Day Class teacher with dark brown hair and brilliantly green eyes.

2a8j9xy.jpg

The other man looked slightly embarrassed. "Yes, but..." The two went on ahead, footsteps echoing in the hall.

Once the Headmaster had reached the office, where he had allowed the groundskeeper and Sun Dormitory guardian, Trevor Kovich, to open ahead of him, his gaze spanned the entire room.

The Headmaster's office was the most expansive office, containing a number of bookshelves from Kazuki Cross's own personal library. The most impressive library on vampire and hunter history and lore was reputed to be owned by this one man, though how he came to such valuable knowledge and books was a vague history that no one quite understood. Despite it looking almost like a study, the room had plenty of room, and a lot of comfortable seats. One of which was currently being played with by the newest school doctor.

10qw6s5.jpg

"And I don't care about your stupid swordmanship, Storm. No, I'm not hogging the prep room all to myself. Why would you even need it anyway if all you teach is kendo?" In one side two teachers were locked in an argument, a tall vampire with long and pale blue hair talking with another who had tanned skin, pale blond hair and a scar on the left side of his face, almost running over one striking blue eye.

25ytxtd.jpg

"I also teach Sports Science and Human Development, or has Mister-Know-It-All forgotten about that?" The other vampire snapped back, looking ready to blow up despite his even-toned retort. He was quite possibly the largest of the male teachers, standing at 6'4" and with a muscular build that clearly showed through his button-up shirt and slacks. "Fuck yes I also write lesson plans and mark my students' grades! How about I stuff it up your-"

28b7kt2.jpg

"I don't care much for what you two are talking about, but please do take it to another place. And language," another vampire muttered. "Can't believe those two are five centuries old with how they act."

Some of the Night Class and Day Class teachers already knew each other before the opening of the new Night Class program in the school.

14cws41.jpg

"Is he... Spinning around on that chair?" What looked like one of the younger teachers in his early twenties, almost a teenager in appearance, murmured in disbelief at Henry Wayne. "Why is the staff always so full of weirdoes?"

The arguing and the nearly normal feeling was cut off as the Headmaster entered, the two arguing vampires falling silent.

Almost immediately, almost everyone took their seats as he gracefully retreated to behind his desk. He didn't sit, instead staring at them. "I believe we have a much-needed discussion and also reminders on hand. As you all know, there will be student Guardians. Not all of them would get along with the Night Class. And one of those is a special case." Theodore Mercer was still fresh on the minds of the teachers after they had seen the young hunter. The youngest summoner of an incredibly high-tier and powerful summon animal, as well as one of the strongest hunters at his age.

The staff had to shake their heads at how the Association handled his case. Despite being turned into a vampire, Mercer was still one of the most valuable current assets they had. Now the Headmaster had gotten ahold of him purely because of lack of support for him and his condition. "Mr. Henry Wayne, our new school doctor will hopefully provide some guidance and needed support for young Mr. Mercer and another ex-human student. I will discuss this later on with you, Mr. Wayne."

"Mr. Weisenhart has graciously taken the spot of a Night Class teacher, despite being a human. He also has taken the elective classes in the hopes of fostering better relations between the Day and Night Class. Mr. Weisenhart, I take it this will extend to the hunters as well." He glanced at the other youngest teacher, smiling and white-haired.

He paused. "Regarding the vampire selections." The 'selections' of course meant the choosing of a new ruler. "The Association has requested that the hunters be allowed investigate." He let his gaze rest on all the teachers. "I will not allow this. This is an educational institution. Hunters are not going to disturb a place of learning unless rules are actually broken." Oh, but everyone knew that despite this, people will try. "I am quite aware that the student hunters will very well try to discover things by themselves, and this is at their own risk." Depite this, he still sounded as calm as always.

"But we will discuss this when we have more time. I will be getting quick to the reminders. All staff members are required to socialize, except if they have guard duty like our Mister Kovich here regarding the Sun Dorm. It does not need to be dancing, but the staff has to make itself visible to the students. This is an important part of this ball. Of course, do keep proper boundaries between student and staff."

"Any questions before I dismiss everyone to prepare?"

Alucarn merely lowered his head in a slight show of understanding before leaving a slight bit of more space between him and the Headmaster now that their conversation seemed to be over. "Yes, Headmaster." He understood. He simply had to at least give some attempt in getting out of it but still, he understood. He would do what was required and expected of him.

With that said, he quietly followed the Headmaster the rest of the way to his office. He was not surprised to see Mr. Kirin and Mr. Storm arguing as soon as they walked in since it was more of a regular routine then anything else. Mr. Storm was one of the few people he knew that was actually taller then him.

Alucarn however, did not exactly expect to see a man swinging around in a chair like a...well child. Henry Wayne was his name. Yes, he saw him not a few minutes ago with the hunter Theodore Mercer at the Headmaster's speech.

He thought no more about it as he and the other teachers took their seats. Alucarn himself sitting beside Mr. Kai as they all listened with their full gaze and attention on the Headmaster as he explained everything of current importance. It did not seem like there would be any further talks about the 'selection.' At least not in this meeting. The school didn't exactly have a role in the election but with all the students of prominent Aristocrats and even some Purebloods, the school was no doubt an interest to the people running. The Headmaster may want to keep the students away from this as much as possible.

Ayana looked over towards him as they walked, her hands shifted the weight of her bag from one arm to another as she gathered her thoughts before asking, "Are you getting something here that you couldn't get from your home?......Not that I'm complaining about you being here or anything, if you weren't I'm pretty sure I'd still be trying to talk to someone. I'd be failing miserably of course, but that's neither here nor there." She rambled on for a few seconds which thankfully hadn't been anywhere near as long as last time.

"Thank you,"
She sounded with a gentle smile as he helped her carry her bags, she didn't need the help in anyway, the weight of the bags in her arms and on her back went unnoticed more or less, but she did appreciate the thought. It was a genuine act of chivalry, it was kind of nice to have a guy do something like that for her. She'd gotten used to fending for herself at home. "Your friends must really miss you, if you're this kind to me and you barely know me. I can't imagine them not missing you." She gave a curt nod to his question as she replied, "Yeah, I'm really excited....and really nervous. I've never been to a party before, well not one like that, but I always wanted to go at least once. I saw the way my parents would dress before leaving for an event like that, and they always looked amazing and seemed to have a great time. Although I'm not too sure what you do there." She mumbled the last part more to herself as she began to think about it, but she was sure he could hear her.

Ayana was snapped from her thoughts when Mr. Inkyu's voice reached her ears and she automatically began to blurt out,
"Sorry Mr. Ink-" only to be stopped short of her words when she realized what he was saying, and despite the brown hue that adorned her skin, a soft tint of pink could be seen in her face, across the bride of her nose and throughout her cheeks, that slowly turned a pale red. Her face turning a darker shade of red as a response to his later statement about them and the dorms. "We're not dating," She managed to slur out amidst her embarrassment ad she averted her gaze from Arthur, at least until the color in her face had died down.

Throwing aside his previous comment, her ears perked up a bit as he mentioned the campus being surrounded by forests, and she luckily had the privilege to venture out into those woods. She wasn't too sure if Arthur would or wouldn't like to go explore the surrounding wilderness, but if he did she had no quarms taking him with her. As they passed through the gate separating the day class dorms away from the rest of the campus, she stopped for a brief moment to glance up at them knowing once school started she'd be one of the possibly many guardians that would be watching over it. After passing through the gates it didn't take long for the large white dormitory to come into view. It stood proudly clad in mostly white. She'd never seen a building that large before, at least not this close up. It was massive, she'd expected something a little smaller mainly because she didn't think theyd need that much space, but maybe they did. "Wow, looks like we can have a lot of "fun" in there," She jested with a small grin that seemed more like a smirk, the embarrassment of the teacher's previous words leaving her.

Okita was sure her friend would be alright. He was that sort of person, getting along with most and ignoring social convention if there was a chance of a pretty face. And if they saw only that and ignored the way he walked and the strength in his grip, all the better. It was nice to have something to rely on at this school. Ye gods, this school! Cross Academy, once home to a secretive society of humans, hunters and vampires! Now all of a sudden, intermingling in classes and bearing their own dorms and the like. The world was changing and her generation would be entrusted with what happened next. She hid a scowl with practiced ease and reached for another mint, content for once to hide behind much taller students as she looked around with a practiced eye. A dangerous woods...A lake... Picturesque but overall, not what she was looking for.

A lot of purebloods and aristocrats this batch. Lot of heirs to clans and what not. A tempting target for anyone seeking to make a statement, right? One big dorm, one bomb and you wipe out almost everyone. That's why so many hunters are here too, right? Or people with the power to make a difference in that regard.

Okita crunched a mint between her teeth and activated her Sight.

A silver coloration bleed into her iris, as she used the long range aspect of her families gift to zoom in on the Moon Dorm. They were never fighters. Not on the level of other Hunter Clans. Theirs was an ability for spying and peeking at keyholes. To look for secrets and uproot them. Right now, after lingering on the crowd crossing the bridges, she peered at the gates. Hmmm....

It was a joke for any who thought it'd dissuade a really determined vampire or hunter, but it was the principle of the thing, wasn't it? You put up great walls and fancy locks and turned it into a symbol. Here and no further, this was the line in the sand.

She blinked and her eyes returned to normal, as she turned her attention back to the teacher.

And took careful note of the people who spoke and got his attention. Kiryu seemed of a suspicious frame of mind, focused on the 'Me vs Them.' If you weren't a Me, you were a Them and that always was a mind to watch. Hunter too, undoubtedly. It was the kind of thing a more martially aligned clan would think of.

The other spoken to got her attention in another way. It was the human again and the huntress...There was always something about it, but for Okita's sight it was mostly in the way the jewelry glowed in her vision. She had little doubt that if she wanted, she could most likely pick up the boy and tie him into a pretzel. And here he was, carrying one of her bags.

That was kinda sweet actually.

A ghost of a smile flickered at the reaction and subsequent laugh before she turned her attention back to the teacher.

There was a definite hesitant pause to her words, about what he could get here that he couldn't at home, as well as the mention of friends. Seizing a lifeline from her last questioning statement however, Arthur would smile ruefully as he spoke. "I'm not entirely sure myself. I was hoping you'd know." The sheer hilarity of it hit him then, as he laughed at the idea and followed after the group slowly. The bag wasn't so heavy and it was just something to be Done. You treated the fairer sex with respect, you held open doors for them and if they had a heavy bag, you helped them with it. It was the principle of the thing and ingrained in Arthur that it was second nature now. Besides, there was more important things really.

For him, it was the Academy surroundings. He was half expecting walls of stone and courtyards but instead, this place seemed more wild then anything. It seemed to strike a chord in his companion at any rate, her eyes lit up by what must have been a measure of familiarity in a strange land. He could emphasize. He didn't realize they were gawking however, until the teacher told them to catch up.

Though unlike Ayana, his only reaction to the teasing was a brief smile followed by a glance to her to ensure she was alright. Seeing the steam rise from her ears, he decided discretion was the better part of valor as they moved along. He didn't quite care what anyone said about him to be frank...He was secure in his name and was determined to show by actions what sort of person he was. And if someone teased him to be close to a friend, what of it? It was a compliment indeed, if they thought he had any chance with Ayana.

It must be said here that Arthur was completely unaware of his effect on people. He had a Code and he had a Word that together, made for a Name that he strove every day to be worthy of. He was refreshingly direct that way to everyone. The other was that a boy who spends all his time with machines and deep in stories about knights, tends to develop a rather befuddling mindset. The sort of man who could tell you a thousand facts about a combustion engine but forget he leaves his glasses perched on his forehead everyday. Ask Arthur to name a heraldic symbol or to fine tune a motorcycle and he would do either in a flash and a smile. Ask him about some of the more subtle social cues such as a woman's blush and he would merely tut and apologize for the insinuations of others.

Which was why instead of blushing at the reminder when Ayana used the teachers words, he would instead say brightly.

"Well, I have a chess set if you like that sort of thing. Though I'm rather keen to explore the grounds myself. Do you think they'll have a garage around here?"

Near them, a rather short student with pink hair nearly choked on her mint as she strove to hide her laughter.

"Yes your headmaster-ess sah!"

Henry delivered with a flourish and a salute that would have brought tears to the most rabid drill Sargent.

He also continued to spin idly, listening very carefully despite the childish mannerism. He was friendly enough it seemed, of that there was no doubt. He reached out on his first day and was willing to do so again with much aplomb. The moment questions were expected to be forthcoming, Henry raised his hand.

"I've one question. Is it jacket required? I think I have a bowtie somewhere..."

-----

Within Henry, Matthias stirred to watchfulness.

Damn Henry, bringing them here of all places. Too many powerful vampires and their sheep, none of which made the Hunter at ease. You didn't chop up the whole log to make a fire, you whittled it to kindling. At least in the city, he could prowl by night and the Hunter Association could cover his expenses and tracks. He would have to do his best to learn these new hunting grounds, these new territories. It was with this intent that he pulled a lever in the mind and outwardly-

-----

-Henry added as though it just occurred to him.

"Oh! Also, I was wondering if I could have permission to wander the grounds, the woods in particular? On my way here I believe I saw a patch of Atropa belladonna which I simply must have for my laboratory! Who knows what else might be out there, ripe for the taking!"

Time slowly ticked away and the Headmaster still hadn't arrived yet. The other teachers were still conversing with each other, in a somehow lighter mood than before. And their resident doctor... was still enjoying his business in the swivel chair. With this, Reiner stood up and approached the nearby bookshelf. "Hmmm..." Placing a thumb on his chin, the white-haired bookworm scanned the contents of the grandiose tomes. As the titles would suggest, most, if not all of them, entailed lores and history about the two previously opposing factions: the vampires and vampire hunters. Reiner had read a few of them, but the overwhelming amount of volumes owned by Kazuki Cross had him pondering his thoughts.

"...."

And then, turning around like he didn't notice, the Headmaster had already arrived. Just like the malevolent masked-man, he had a towering figure. However, unlike the former, he had a more formal and prim appearance. Kazuki maintained a calm and professional manner as he was addressing the red-eyed Aristocrat.

As the Headmaster approached his desk, the majority of the staff, both Day and Night, took their seats, as if almost in unison to his movements. Reiner on the other hand, leaned his back on the wall and crossed his arms, smiling. Kazuki initiated the meeting by informing the staff of the needed student guardians that will serve as their protection should the need arise. Of course, that was mandatory. This was the first time in history that the two races will be cohabiting in a public manner. To maintain this lasting peace, there needs to be a drawn fine line between them that the other shouldn't cross.

The introductions of the newbie staff continued, with him realizing that the man who was playing around the swivel chair like a child was actually their doctor. While the white coat sold his possible profession, his naivety cloaked that fact and made him think twice until it was finally announced. "Huh... Pfft..." Reiner gave a slight and low-toned chuckle, unnoticed by the attentive staff.

Then it was his turn to be introduced. Trading glances with the Headmaster, he responded with a smile before politely yet silently introducing himself with a formal bow. First impressions were required to be on the positive side of things, and hopefully he didn't fail to impress with the visible positivity on his form.

What came after that, was a darker setting on his speech when Kazuki discussed about the vampire selections and referencing the murder that had taken place a few months back. It was... shocking, to say the least. The Pureblood of whom had his life taken away was quite famous, and a pacifist at that. It was reasonable for the Headmaster to state the fact that the hunters shouldn't interfere with this, despite being requested to investigate. Even Reiner knew that some of the hunters were... unhinged.

Taking the meeting back to a more positive spirit, Kazuki concluded the meeting with a few reminders; particularly about the staff being more sociable. And that was it. Reiner calmly took his heed and everything else that went on in the meeting in face value. Closing his eyes and inaudibly praying that nothing bad will happen, the white-haired gentleman took off from his position, bringing his parasol with him before heading towards the exit. He had something that he wanted to ask towards the Headmaster, but decided against it for now. It's not like there won't be a next time, after all.

Akio was practically hanging on every word the teacher said. His voice is really nice too... He let out a dreamy sigh, staring thoughtfully at his behind. He was probably too old though. Not like it really mattered to him though, it was more the teacher usually got in trouble. He wondered if that would ever stop them though. Akio wasn't the type to use those kinds of things to his advantage, but a teacher might not necessarily believe him.

Sensing something change near him, Akio glanced at Okita to notice her eyes were silver. "Really?" He chuckled, shaking his head. While they both had Eye abilities, of sorts, Okita's seemed more useful. Probably because he didn't have it. Either way, knowing when someone was lying seemed very useful. "Watcha looking at?" Of course by the time he said that, her eyes were back to normal. He was still curious though.

The amber eyed male wondered how the hell Okita put up with him sometimes. He wasn't insecure or anything, but the amount of trouble he got into had to mean something. And there was no knowing just how much his partner would have to go through at this school because of him. Akio wouldn't dare do something that would danger her life, definitely not, but small things here and there were good fun though annoying. He still loved her.

Not in a weird way, of course.

Did the teacher glance at her? Had she done something wrong? Kikena brought her parasol closer. What had she done? She had seemed like such a nice teacher at first. Maybe Kikena had the wrong idea. Maybe she was over thinking it. Either way, her insecurity was definitely getting the better of her.

The tall female stepped even further away from her peers, not wanting to hear what they were saying. Probably bad things. Maybe about the twins too. She didn't want to be involved in that. And Sayuri was in the group too. She was likely off talking to people, unlike her. Kikena knew she needed to socialise, however it was going against every grain in her body. Conversing with others... It used to be an easy thing to do.

Nowadays it was a foreign concept. Even if someone came up to her, she would be uncomfortable enough to not say anything and scare that person away. Or at least make herself seem like a bad person to talk to. Which only worsened her insecurity. And if Sayuri were to come up to her... No she wouldn't. Not after what happened.

[BCOLOR=transparent]"No questions?" Mr. Inkyu's eyes swept across the crowd before smiling at the silence. "That's what I thought. Pretty good at explaining things, if I say so myself." He sighed as he turned back around and marched up to the front doors of the dorm, rummaging through his pockets for something hastily. Pulling out a set of keys, they clinked and jingled together as he fitted one of them into the lock and turned, pushing the doors open with a small creak. "This is your new home," he said with an amused tone. One thing the teachers looked forward the most was seeing the genuine reactions of the students, were they going to be impressed or as emotionless as some of them usually were most of the time?[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The doors opened to a vast, open room. It was bustling with students dressed in casual clothing, lounging on couches and chatting to one another. Some of them looked up from their books or from their friends, looking at the newcomers with curiosity. Many of the senior students smiled, said their welcomes and greetings, happy to see that their new juniors had finally arrived.[/BCOLOR]

The Sun Dorm common room was a large room mostly constructed of wood. Polished chairs and tables lined the common room, cabinets that looked as if they belonged on a Victorian setting movie set stood against the walls next to plush chairs with high backs. Paintings of what looked like famous people were hung up on the walls beside oil paintings of landscapes from days gone by. Couches were lined up next to each other, some of the larger ones set out around the fireplace in a horseshoe formation to create a sense of a gathering of a community. There was plenty of room to fit the numerous Day Class students walking about. There were smaller rooms, their wooden oak doors flung open to reveal a quieter small library, the walls decorated from top to bottom with bookshelves on top of bookshelves until they touched the roof. A wheel ladder was pushed to the side, resting beside even more couches. Mr. Inkyu knew that it was quite an impressive collection for such a small space. There was a brightly-lit hallway led to the dorm kitchen that doubled as a cafeteria for those who had no cooking talents, though they were closed and locked for the night, the staff focusing for the ball at night. A long stairway with mahogany railing led up to the upper floors, forking left and right at the top.

"Welcome to the common room, Mesdames et Messieurs. This is where ya gonna be spending ya indoor leisure time in, so ya better make sure to clean up after yourselves!" Mr. Inkyu exclaimed, clearly excited at being a tour guide. He waved at a few passing students, pleased to see that everyone was enjoying themselves - and for once didn't throw a nasty ruckus of a party when it came to greeting their juniors - unlike last year. "Alright, we hav' some ground rules here in at the Sun Dorm, and we're gonna go through them. But ya'll also get them again in more detail once we have a Dorm President." The young man cleared his throat before pulling out a crumpled piece of paper, his voice changing from his carefree usual manner to a more serious tone.
"One, ya make sure ya keep this place as clean as possible. Two, keep the noise in ya dorms to a minimum, parties out in the common room only. Three, we don't allow goddamn pets in'ere, we hav' people with allergies. Four, all students need to recycle their junk, we hav' a strict guide, so ya better follow it. Ya rooms will have a nice laminated piece of card with all the instructions. Four, ya not allowed to decorate the walls with anythin' like stickers or tape up posters, nothin' that can damage the walls. Five, the school ain't responsible for anythin' ya break. Six, no smoking and no exceptions. And seven, ya must always be prepare for room inspections."
As soon as he finished, his demeanor returned to one more friendly and open. "Time for rooms! Upstairs, boys to the left, girls to the right. Lights out at 11pm, but ya can hang out in the common room after electives." Looking over at the students, he could already guess some were going to be spending a lot more time at the other end of the dorm. He winked at the couple from before again, the gentleman and the girl from that nomadic hunter family, they would make a fine couple. "I'm gonna call out ya name, ya dorm number and ya dorm mate, if ya happen to have any. Dorms with two people get three keys, one as a spare, ya hear?"
"The boys first! Room 27… Room 45… Room 96… Room 32…" his voice drawled on, beginning a long list of the new Day Class students, stopping every once in awhile to hand out two or three golden keys, a tag hanging off each and every one of them containing their dorm number scrawled out in elegant handwriting. One could easily tell that the boys had rooms under the 100 number mark, whilst the girls had them from 100 to 200, though their rooms were not often filled up. "Room 35, Arthur Augustus Maximus the Third and Jun Yoshida!" he called out, eyes flickering from the parchment as a tall Asian boy approached with a bored expression. He passed him one of the three keys, handing the other two to Arthur.
"Room 64! Kei Kiryuu and Akio Fukui!" Mr. Inkyu shouted, passing three golden keys to the duo before turning the parchment over to reveal a list of female names and their room numbers.
The tanned man cleared his throat once more. "Room 120! Okita Goro and Ayana Morizumi!" he said before passing the keys over, nodding his head. "Ladies." The next few minutes were spent yelling out more names before he breathed out a sigh of relief as he called out the last name. "You'll find a kitchen and a bathroom in each dorm, 'kay? Play nicely, now. Ya'll have some time to get used to each other before the ball."

[BCOLOR=transparent]"... and that's the last of it among those questions?" The Night Class teacher asked, having finished some questions from a few of the students. They were all simple and easy to answer, the students having been well-informed of what to expect of dormitory life at the institute. Their acceptance letters no doubt had already given them an idea of what the Moon Dorm, and the classes, were like. These young vampires were all mostly sons and daughters of important nobles or Purebloods, and were quite inexperienced with living in a 'dormitory' space. Then again, Miss Milaia thought with a wry smile as she looked at the towering elegance of the Moon Dorm, this place wasn't really like a dormitory in any way. With a staff of maids and servant ready to serve, plus a kitchen manned by experienced chefs and cooks, the Aristocrats and Purebloods were paying a hefty sum to make sure their precious children were comfortable.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]It rather defeats the purpose of living in a dormitory as a student, [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]the teacher thought with a mental chuckle. Then again, most of these young vampires were also rather troubled in their own ways… [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Student life was the least of their worries.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]She clapped her hands together after the students were finally satisfied with their answers. Miss Milaia had noted how the noticeable students were mostly quiet. Kin and Masaru Shirabuki were quiet, though it looked like the younger twin was tugging at her brother's sleeve repeatedly, bouncing on her feet as if she was eager to see the inside of the dorm. "Alright! Come on in with me~ I hope the furnishings will be to your liking! We strive to make this as close to home as possible." Well, considering how most of the students in this particular group lived in luxury, it was 'home' enough. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Her heels tapped a rhythmic pattern on the marble flooring as she quickly danced up the steps and into the open space, nearing the front doors and fishing out a key from her purse. The lamps were already lit up on the open space, warm yellowish light giving an impression similar to candlelight to provide a soft and romantic-looking atmosphere. There was the scent of flowers in the air, no doubt from the well-tended flowering plants and bushes lining the building as well. A set of tall double doors, made of heavy wood swung open with nary a creak on well-oiled h[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]inges after the teacher had unlocked it.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]In keeping with the Moon Dorm's white and delicate design, an ornate and beautiful white lobby greeted the students as they first stepped in. Pristine white walls had classical paintings hung from them, cast with the same soft candle-like glow from the lights installed into the high ceiling at the entry. The centerpiece of the lighting was the chandelier that hung down, a myriad of lights made to resemble small candles all lit up and further casting a glow about the room. But the centerpiece of the entire lobby were the two staircases, curving gracefully inwards, with its detailed sides of wrought iron. Enclosed within the curved staircases were comfortable white sofas and armchairs.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]And before that was another circular table with a glass surface. Perched upon it was a fresh bouquet of roses, pink and red, in a crystal vase. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]At the sides of the lobby were the different doors that led to hallways, and no doubt discreetly positioned for the staff to use. "The staff has prepared all the rooms. They are trained to be a discreet and quick service for your privacy, as we are all aware that some of you prefer to keep to your rooms. But this common area should prove to be well-used as well quite soon." She smiled at the students, taking in their expressions.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]"With this fully-trained staff and cooking service, we expect that this dorm will be kept in order. The common areas such as the lobby, the hallways and the kitchen plus the dining area will be maintained every day. But due to privacy concerns, it is up to you students if you want the staff to come into your room to clean on scheduled days. Please note that this doesn't mean you shouldn't tidy up yourself. And remember that yes, we aren't going to limit blood taking among yourselves, but clean up, alright? And don't force it on each other."[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]She cleared her throat. "Further house rules would be upheld and given after the Moon Dorm has found a Dorm President. They and the Vice President would be the ones to oversee the rest of you as well as check if the rules are upheld."[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Who the Dorm President and Vice President would be was up to the Night Class to pick and decide on, of course. Milaia perked up as she smiled at the students once again. "Now's the time for you to see your rooms! You can head up these stairs, though the doors and hallways to the left and right will also have staircases. The first and second floor have the two-person bedrooms while the upper floors will have the Pureblood's living areas. The lower floors have a small shower and toilet each in each room, but there are gender-separated baths as well on each floor! You may also take your meals at the dining area or have them in your own rooms. Certain rooms have also had mini-kitchens installed upon request." She started calling on the names, handing out silver keys for the two-person bedrooms, and gold-painted keys for the Pureblood students. That is, there were only a few Purebloods to be housed here…[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]"Room 20, second floor, Miss Kikena Aido and…" She called out, handing the keys to the girls as they stepped forward. She shot the young Aido heiress a soft smile, though still a little concerned about the young vampire. "Room 28! Miss Shiki and Miss Fei!" Ah, it was the red-haired singer and their female ex-human student. "... And room 29, Mister Mercer and Mister Akihiko Tsuruoka." it would be a little concerning for some students to know that girls' rooms could be right alongside boys', but that was all there was to it. The Moon Dorms, after all, wasn't the most traditional. Then again, the even-numbered rooms were for the girls, and the odd-numbered for boys. One one side, even numbers, on the other side of the hall, odd numbers. So their rooms were right across from each other's, as the Headmaster intended. Wasn't the young Mercer supposed to watch over young Fei Lihua?[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]"Suite 4! Miss Masaru Shirabuki! And Suite 5! Mister Kin Shirabuki!" Sometimes she had to wonder if whoever was overlooking the dormitory assignments had a weird sense of humor. At least the twins weren't separated or too far from each other on that floor, something even the Headmaster had to concede to. It would still take them some walking, considering the expansiveness of the Pureblood living areas, but at least they could find each other quickly. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]As soon as room designations were finished and all the keys were handed out, the teacher let out a slight sigh. Now she had to go and prepare for the ball, after this. "You may now all go to your rooms. Remember, you all have an hour and a half to go prepare for the welcome ball - which was already something you were informed of in your letters. The ball officially starts in an hour and thirty minutes, though we do expect late arrivals." [/BCOLOR]

Kei shot the teacher a serious look then smiled again. "Yes, thank you Sir. I wold appreciate that very much." As they continued to walk Kei caught site of the other hunters. They seemed so carefree that is except for one he had an air of nobility to him almost like a knight. Kei smiled thinking he might finally have found a comrade who shares his way of thinking. He then saw a female who took mints then started looking around intensely. 'Could she have some kind of enhanced vision? Some families get all luck.'

They finally reached their destination. Kei was taken aback by the extravagance of the dormitory enough to say "wow". It was nicer than anything Kei had ever seen before way above his families means. 'Damn Cross. This is to much for students.' They were all called for room assignments. Kei waited until he heard his name. "Akio?" He looked around and found his roommate. He walked up and extended his hand. "I'm Kei Kiryu looks like we will be roommates from here on out pleasure to meet you."
