I even searched google about this, and I scoured the Q&A for an answer. I was writing a very nice story with someone, and we had just gotten started actually, it wasn't more then six or eight posts in and suddenly they stopped posting. I figured they were taking a break and gave them some space, but the other day I came back to check again and their name had turned grey and was crossed out. They weren't banned, but the account is still there and can be accessed. What does that mean?

Pale grey, crossed out usernames are members that have chosen to self-deleted their account. Sorry. :(

From our FAQ, in the "username colors" question:
Deactivated Members: Someone who has chosen to deactivate their account.

oh, goodness. Well that's just rude. They didn't even let me know, and they seemed so excited for what we were writing. It's honestly hurtful that they just vanished like that.

Thank you for letting me know, it's nice to have some closure.
