the general plot

𝒎𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆​

ও after the fall of the mega-kaiju and destroying the breach with the help of gipsy avenger, humanity thought the kaiju war was finally over. sadly, that wouldn't be the case.
ও despite everyone's efforts, no one could prepare humanity for what was about to come.
ও it happened a year ( give or take ) later.
ও an organization hidden amongst the chaos of the kaiju war grew ambitious with its new leader; the high priestess.
ও kaiju no longer needed to pass through the breach, as the high priestess used the remainder of the kaiju blood, creating " kaiju pools ".
ও new kaiju, unlike anything the ppdc has ever seen; later dubbed titans due to their massive sizes and unimaginable strength.
ও these titans were unique. only one of each in existence ( as far as monarch and the ppdc knew ).
ও kaiju of old began to appear alongside these giants.
ও they destroyed cities and towns, leaving a path of destruction and death.
ও in order to preserve what was left of humanity, the ppdc ( and the help of monarch ) constructed the shatterdomes into " cities " ( only two left within existence ).
ও humanity would not crumble.
ও these shatterdomes were humanities safe haven from the destruction the kaiju caused after monarch constructed new and improved anti-kaiju walls that appeared to be created by energy, or rather the electromagnetics of north and south poles.
ও it gave humanity a standing chance as the ppdc issued out a high demand for rangers and other positions within the organization, giving their families compensation and reassurance.
ও the ppdc began to create mark-six and mark-seven jaegers to combat against the titans and kaiju.

ও despite this happening, a new mutation appeared flabergasting scientists.
ও animals began to mutate after coming in contact with kaiju blue, evolving into monstrous creatures that preyed on human flesh and lower ranked mutations.
ও this wasn't just any mutation ( some comparing it to a zombie outbreak ) as once bitten by these mutation animals, humans too, can mutate into monstrous creatures. but what was bizarre to scientists was the fact beasts were immune to these mutated creatures and beasts were in demand, but what was supposed to be good became evil.
ও due to several disasters, the ppdc issued out a new rank; the inspector who was in charge of shooting down those that were infected.
ও most of these victims lived in the dark zone, a massive area with roaming kaiju and where people ran wild. it was chaos.
ও the black market being one of them. beasts being a major black market item due to their exoticness and immunity to the newly developed mutation.

ও during it all, the buenakai organization grew stronger.
ও the high priestess wrecking havoc among humanity who destroyed her curiosity. a kaiju with human dna. a science experiment, but she would no longer grovel at the feet of humans and beasts.
ও she gave her fellow buenakai members a drop of her blood, giving them abilities similar to that of a kaiju, whether it being their strength, speed, eyesight, etc. but they were not able to shift into actual kaiju until the high priestess.
ও these members were called the " pure ones " and those who do not possess kaiju blood were to die. despite this, the high priestess took interest in beasts, capturing as many possible to conduct unorthodox experiments.

ও as years pass by, the ppdc issued out as many jaegers as possible ( with a few remaining within the last two shatterdomes for safety purposes ) who in the end become stranded after a battle against one of the higher ranked titans.
ও lost within the dark zone, danger lurking at every corner. the group meet many friends and foe alike.
ও the ppdc later sending out a second batch ( far smaller than its first group ) in hopes of searching for them and or finding their jaegers to drag back to reuse.

ও while this is going, the roleplay will not be heavily focused on the stranded jaeger pilots, rather focusing on those still inside the shatterdome as an average day civilian, members of the ppdc, those who work for monarch within the dark zone, and those who live in the dark zone.
ও the plot is adaptable and isn't solid, but it is something one can go off on and form new paths.
ও the ending is unknown. it is up to our characters to decide their fates, whether they sink or swim is up for debate.
ও there will be lots of angst, and if one doesn't enjoy an endless amount of angst tossed at them, there will be numerous points to add fluff.

the pan pacific defense corps ( abbreviated ppdc ) is an organization created by the united nations. the defense corps represents an international alliance of twenty-one countries across the pacific rim, bound together by the shared goal of containing, combating and eliminating the kaiju ( taken from pacific rim ).



╰┈➤ ❝ 𝐁𝐔𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐈 .

enigmatic cultist group who worship the kaiju.

ও viewpoint : the sisters were one of the many kaiju sects that popped up in the wake of their first landfall. they were a demented enclave of monster worshipers whom believe these titans to be dark angels enacting the vengeance of the gods upon the sins of mankind for their perceived transgression. many of them consider the jaeger pilots to be blasphemers and false idols ( taken from pacific rim : the black ).

monarch ( 君主 kunshu ) is a major scientific organization.

ও method of operation : while most of how monarch carries out their work is unknown, it is known that they prefer a non-lethal approach at best, as aaron brooks' recording to his father stated that the " monarch field manual " says " if you must resort to weaponry, in all likelihood, you've already made a mistake " ( taken from godzilla ).

- known to visit shatterdomes to relay information about kaiju and have been working closely with the ppdc after the world was thrown into chaos despite their different views.​

╰┈➤ ❝ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 .

a recent development ( a good few years before the titans made themselves known ), landing humanity in turmoil, but despite this setback, science continues to progress. as kaiju blue contaminated the environment, it caused catastrophic results. animals ( mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, arthropods ) changed drastically.

animals were exposed to kaiju blue, evolving / changing their genetics to something far more gruesome. these creations were known as animal mutations.

if a human is bit, they too will evolve, their bodies being infected by the mutation and changing into something monstrous. barely recognizable for what they once were; human.

although beasts - a mystery to scientists are immune to these mutated animals. living freely in the dark zone with their only enemies being themselves, humans, and kaiju.



╰┈➤ ❝ 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐘 .

beasts ( singular beast ) are one of the two intelligent races that inhabit earth, the other race being humans. while beasts resemble humans, they are often easily distinguishable from the latter in that they possess the traits of animals.

beasts are similar to humans, except for the fact that they share certain traits with animals. some types of beasts are more common than others, with some being extremely rare. beasts with mammalian traits, in general, seem to be quite common.

some, such as blake belladonna and velvet scarlatina, have been shown to have animal ears ( in these cases, those of a cat and a rabbit, respectively ); some beasts with animal ears also appear to have a set of human ears, and some beasts, like fiona thyme, have animal ears in place of human ears. other beasts like adam taurus have been shown to have horns protruding from their heads. some beasts, such as sun wukong and neon katt may have tails. in some cases, a beast may have a trait that is not immediately apparent, such as tukson and ghira belladonna's retractable claws. some may even have traits that augment their mobility such as yuma's bat wings, which presumably grant him the natural ability to fly. arachnid beasts such as tyrian callows and trifa possess the ability to secrete substances natural to their beast heritage, such as scorpion venom and spider silk, respectively.

in general, wings and mermaid-like fish tails are rather rare, and in the case of mermaid-like beasts, the trait can be a disability by making it hard to walk. thus, the shallow sea makes life manageable for mermaid-like beasts.

it has been said that beasts can only have a single physical trait in common with their animal. however, this only seems to apply to body appendages and the dermis. in addition to these traits, most ( but not all ) beasts have remarkable night vision, a trait that they use to great effect in combat, and some seem capable of producing animal sounds.

in addition, beasts have been shown on multiple occasions to possess other non-physical traits and behaviors of the animals that they are based on. one such example is food preference, such as how sun is shown eating bananas and blake's love for fish like tuna. ghira is shown roaring like a great cat when angered.

some beasts chose designs that reflect the animal they are based on, such as tyrian's weapons resembling scorpion pincers, ilia's hair resembling a chameleon tail, lionheart's hair and beard resembling a lion's mane and sienna's tattoos resembling tiger stripes.

beasts are genetically compatible with humans, though the children of such unions are typically always beasts; for example, velvet scarlatina is beast despite having a human father. beasts do not automatically have the same animal trait as their beasts parents ( especially those born to two beasts with different traits ), though many do; both blake belladonna and her mother kali have cat ears as their beasts feature ( taken from rwby : faunus ).

- to put it simply, if a human and beast have a child there will be a 50 / 50 percent that the child will either be human or beast ( of the same type their beast parent is ). if it is a beast x beast, then the child can be any animal.​

a world where people are divided according to two sexes instead of one: a primary sex ( male or female ) and a secondary sex ( alpha, omega, beta ). though the primary sex will constitute for a large portion of the individual's reproductive anatomy, the secondary sex will modify and emphasize a particular demeanor within the individual's reproductive physiology ( taken from omegaverse : everything you need to know by darthsuki ).

some positions and ranks

╰┈➤ ❝ 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐒 ( 𝐏𝐏𝐃𝐂 ) 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒 & 𝐎𝐂𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 .

ও marshal ( one position ) : marshals are responsible for all active shatterdomes. the marshal for the defense corps is the figure head and the final word in regards to military movements, strategies, and deployment. there can only be one marshal active at one time. marshals are responsible for assigning drift teams together and who goes out to face the kaiju.

ও major ( two positions ) : majors are responsible for stepping in when the marshal isn't present, and will later become the next marshal if the previous retires or is killed.

ও officer ( more can be added ) : officers tend to be assigned according to their field of expertise. the officers of the defense corps operate in the shatterdomes. their occupations are not limited to j-tech, loccent command and k-science personnel. they do not hold the traditional command of a military rank as one might when promoted to marshal.

ও ranger ( unlimited ) : ranger is the rank given to pan pacific defense corps officers assigned to the jaegers. they are commonly referred to as jaeger pilots. prior to piloting a jaeger, all rangers are required to undergo rigorous training within the kwoon combat room.

ও cadet ( unlimited ) : given to individuals training to become rangers in the pan pacific defense corps. required to attend the jaeger academy and undergo rigorous training in the kwoon combat room and the jaeger combat simulator before they can become officially sanctioned jaeger pilots.

ও inspectors ( seven positions ) : the ability to kill anyone infected on sight, no questions asked. they are the " grimm reapers " of the shatterdome, as they do not hesitate nor will they listen to excuses. once you are infected and show signs of mutating into an animal abomination are killed. are considered to be higher than marshal, although they do not hold much military power other than keen observation and vast knowledge in this new mutation.



╰┈➤ ❝ 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐒 ( 𝐏𝐏𝐃𝐂 ) 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒 & 𝐎𝐂𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 .

j-tech ( jaeger tech ) officers are responsible for programming logistics involved in jaeger weaponry and combat, as well as the creation and maintenance of conn-pods and the shatterdome hud.

ও weapons specialist ( unlimited ) : weapons specialists are responsible for the design of offensive power in jaeger weapons and additional weaponry. swords, plasma cannons, and missiles are a few of the weapons they can create.

ও jaeger engineer ( unlimited ) : engineers are responsible for designing the look of the jaegers, as well as maintenance and support. engineers are likely to be found making repairs on the body of a jaeger and researching a new design to give them an edge in combat.

ও neural bridge operator ( unlimited ) : given the delicate process of the drift, nbos are required to aid rangers in maintaining the stability of the drift connection.

ও battle programmer ( unlimited ) : battle programmers are responsible for programming the jaegers and maintaining their battle-ready status, with smarter and easier interfaces for rangers to operate with.



╰┈➤ ❝ 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐒 ( 𝐏𝐏𝐃𝐂 ) 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒 & 𝐎𝐂𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 .

k-science officers are responsible for determining the category of a kaiju using the " serizawa scale ". the scale assigns the category of the kaiju by studying the water displacement, radiation and toxicity after they exit the breach. the prediction of kaiju attacks also plays a crucial part in a k-science officer's contribution to the pan pacific defense corps.

ও hazmat officers ( four position ) : hazmat officers are in charge of containment and neutralizing toxic threats that can cripple a strike zone months after a kaiju attack. neutralizing the toxicity of kaiju blood and the gases ( or " bloodmist " ) that it gives off is often a primary concern as it can infect the civilian population fairly quickly.

ও k-watch ( unlimited ) : the k-science division includes k-watch sentries that monitor the breach and send emergency response alerts that activate jaegers. officers assigned to k-watch in mariana islands are typically responsible for naming kaiju, based on the shapes received by sonar if they aren't chosen from a database.

ও kaiju bio-harvester ( unlimited ) : harvesters are required to venture inside the body of a kaiju and harvest kaiju body parts vital to their research.

ও cryptozoologists ( unlimited ) : cryptozoologists are required to regularly analyze and examine each kaiju that emerges from the breach in order to assess a weakness or particular behavior that will work in the favor of the defense corps' rangers in combat. cryptozoologists may be negatively referred to as " kaiju groupies ".



╰┈➤ ❝ 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐒 ( 𝐏𝐏𝐃𝐂 ) 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒 & 𝐎𝐂𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 .

ও psych analyst ( six positions ) : analysts are required to ascertain whether or not the minds of future rangers are drift compatible before pairing them with a potential co-pilot. analysts are responsible for pairing a potential pilot who joined without a partner with another loner based on personality tests and neurological analyses. analysts help trainees and graduated pilots work through their fears and demons, and cope with new ones, to ensure a successful drift each time they pilot the jaegers.

ও assault specialists ( unlimited ) : assault specialists are required to know the ins and outs of what it takes to bring a kaiju down using a jaeger. such information is provided by the k-science division of the ppdc. specialists ensure that trainees and pilots are prepared for combat with a kaiju, teaching them offensive and defensive tactics ( attack and retreat ) that can be utilized in their fighting styles.

ও conn-pod control ( unlimited ) : conn-pod control officers teach cadets what to do and what not to do inside the conn-pod, making sure they know exactly what they're doing before they are engaged in actual combat post-graduation. cpc officers fix, tune and operate the controls inside a conn-pod better than most.

ও flightmaster ( unlimited ) : fightmasters teach cadets everything from hand-to-hand combat to weaponized assault in the kwoon combat room. they also provide insight into which cadets may be compatible to fight together whilst in the drift. fightmasters are from varying defense backgrounds, ranging from military to professional kickboxing. training sessions with fightmasters in the kwoon can last up to fourteen hours a day.

ও med team ( unlimited ) : the medical teams are comprised of doctors, surgeons and nurses, among other medically trained staff. they handle day-to-day injuries that happen in a high-risk facility like the shatterdome. medical teams can also handle most minor injuries that require bandages or stitches. medical teams are required to monitor the health and physical wellness of rangers and varying shatterdome staff alike.



╰┈➤ ❝ 𝐏𝐀𝐍 𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐒 ( 𝐏𝐏𝐃𝐂 ) 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒 & 𝐎𝐂𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 .

ও shatterdome marshal ( depending on how many shatterdomes, determines the amount ) : a high command position within the ppdc organization, these individuals are responsible for managing the overall function of their assigned shatterdome, covering all officers and civilians, as well as the jaegers and their corresponding technology.

ও loccent mission controller ( unlimited ) : mission controllers direct jaeger counterattacks during kaiju combat, providing both pilots and shatterdome personnel with constant information. loccent mission controllers act as the eyes and ears of the rangers and can provide life-saving support on a regular basis.

ও jumphawk pilot ( unlimited ) : jumphawk pilots are an airborne fleet responsible for the highly dangerous deployment and extraction of a jaeger into drop-zones when a kaiju emerges from the breach. piloting the v-50 jumphawk, jumphawk pilots require both courage and protective instincts in order to adapt to the physical rigors of specialty vehicle operations and the necessity of entering drop zones to deploy jaegers.

ও strike trooper ( unlimited ) : strike troopers are the ground forces of the pan pacific defense corps and participant in the kaiju war. troopers may find themselves deployed to any shatterdome on the pacific rim. during a kaiju attack, troopers are dispatched to the streets of an exclusion zone, laying down ground fire. strike teams also aid in the evacuation of civilians from cities and toward anti-kaiju shelters. troopers are described as " elites " and a rarity, as few have the courage to stand their ground in the face of a kaiju attack without the assistance of a jaeger.



╰┈➤ ❝ 𝐁𝐔𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐈 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒 & 𝐎𝐂𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 .

ও high priestess ( one position ) : leader of the buenakai, although it is unknown whether she is human or kaiju, or if she was even human to begin with. her bioluminescent blood and similar traits of a kaiju, she could have been altered by kaiju blue.

in reality, the high priestess is of kaiju origin with human dna. giving her the ability to use kaiju blue or rather " kaiju pools " to create pre-existing kaiju as well as creating new kaiju, which can be seen as they run rampant through the desolated lands of the world.

she cannot control them, but she can very well cause destruction in mass breeding them and watching the world crumble beneath her. she craves to purify the human race with kaiju blue, and will stop at nothing until she follows through with her plan.

she can also turn into a small-sized kaiju due to her genetics. which the government had no qualms with experimenting on. the ppdc learning more about these hybrids, if more came which made the high priestess angry and vowed to take revenge. she was one of the last kaiju to enter from the breach before it was first closed, taking over buenakai and corrupting it from within.

ও members ( unlimited ) : do not have a designated position other than to see the high priestess's vision through. majority are female, but there have been males sprinkled within the group.

ও prisoners ( unlimited ) : pretty self-explanatory. either they are rescued, become a member of the organization, or die.

monarch is relatively secretive, so ranks and occupations are unknown. although it is common for members to have some sort of science-degree. some of these ranks will simply be suggestions to help roleplayers and do not have to be used.

ও leader of monarch ( one position ) : self-explanatory.

ও directors ( more can be added ) : are directors assigned according to their field of expertise.

ও crimson level members ( ten positions ) : this is a clearance given only to high-ranking operatives of monarch. it can access any and all files.

ও amber level members ( unlimited ) : this clearance is given to mid-rank operatives in our organization. it can access certain and specific files concerning classified information, but not the entire file.

ও green level members ( unlimited ) : this clearance is given to newer members of our organization. due to this, this clearance level cannot access much information, especially top-secret information.

- suggested positions include ( but are not limited too ) are mythographers, kaiju researchers , kaiju containments , paleozoologists, paleobiologists, athrozoologists, crypto-sonographers.​

ও colonel ( one position ) : senior military officer rank, considered to be the leader of the g-team and all personnel must go through them.

ও chief warrant officer ( one position ) : highest rank other than colonel, considered to be master experts of both technical and tactical aspects. considered to be the second-in-command of the g-team and will step in if the colonel is not present.

ও first lieutenant ( one position ) : commission officer, with executive responsibility for missions or other command. considered to be the third-in-command when neither the colonel or chief warrant officer are present.

ও staff sergeant ( one position ) : a noncommission officer that are responsible for soldiers and non-military personnel.

ও master sergeant ( one position ) : senior non-commission officer within g-team that often handles battle. instructing other sergeants and advising commanders, while helping train new recruits. also prone to visiting the shatterdomes to help train military for pddc's strike group.

ও g-team officers ( four positions ) : typically plan, organize, and lead troops in military operations. often operating aircrafts, ships, and or armored vehicles.

ও soldiers ( unlimited ) : self-explanatory.

the rules

ও i have the right to remove you from the server if you've repeatedly made others uncomfortable or continue to cause problems.
ও even though there are listed positions, one can pretty much do anything. say you want to be from the dark zone as a mafia-boss or an assassin / mercenary. or you can even be a civilian like a school teacher or a body guard !
ও regarding ranks that are listed within the ppdc and monarch, the sky is the limit. you're character can be a spy from the buenakai or some off-black market organization or be a cook !
ও anime-styled faceclaims only please !
ও please do not play human-kaiju hybrids ! the only one within the roleplay is the high priestess.
ও unlike the movies / animated series, there will be no jaeger-kaiju hybrids.
ও if you'd like to make up more mutated animals, free free to ! don't hesitate to post them in the mutation lore channel !
ও this roleplay is a mashup of a lot of fandoms: pacific rim, little mushroom, rwby, omegaverse, lost tomb and godzilla mostly.
ও please be seventeen-years or older ! some themes aren't suitable for a younger audience.
ও we do use tupperbox ( a discord bot ) to roleplay, but if you don't know how to use it but is still interested, that's no problem ! those of us who do know how to use tupper will be more than happy to help you !
ও this is a slow-paced roleplay, so no posting requirements or sentence requirements ! real life comes first and there will be a text au ( kinda like messaging ) and the actual roleplay. we can also do some fun events that aren't related ( or are related ) to the actual roleplay like festivals and such !
ও if you want to make a mythical beast, let me know ! just tell me what creature and what animal traits you'd want them to have. just so it isn't outlandish. beasts cannot shift into their animal counterparts ! simply processing traits like horns or tail ( or both ). it depends on the creature !
ও no character limit, but do know your own limit.

ও if needed i can help pair characters up ( for those that are rangers / cadets ) or plot amongst yourself to create your own pairing ! the max number of pilots to one jaeger is three ! no more !
ও this is a futuristic setting so technology and science are way beyond what we have. so anything goes !
