Unfabled(full)

Chris waited as pheonix and Nikki gathered food, scanning each isle between shelves as much as he could for movement or any sound. The market seemed to have been untouched by any infected, as there was no traces of blood or anything knocked over. 'What a day.' Chris thought to himself as he followed closely behind the two.

He had lost all of his family, that of two brothers and both his parents as well as his fiance. Truly heartbreaking, though Chris knew that there was no time for mourning. However the memory of watching his beloved fiance lindsey turn and attempt to attack him, forcing Chris to have to shoot her mercilessly still remained in the back of his head. Truly everyone suffered some loss and heartbreak.

He continued down the isle at the ready, looking around for something to load up supplies into as he knew they would have to stock up for the time being."Over there." He said as he gestured to the 'back to school section.'

(( moon hey, no worries. You've seen how long my posts usually are on the Elemental Witches, RP. That's my norm, but I was just feeling fanatic here so wanted to see how long I could go if I really tried. I was actually extremely nervous that it would be the shortest. Besides, posts that don't involve another person's character are really stretchy for me. So, please don't apologize, it makes me feel guilty ;-; I know you often write really amazing posts though, moon. ))

The twins listened in patient silence as the people who had entered began to speak with one another. One was definitely a male, as was the other a female by the pitch of their voices. At least they had voices though, instead of the inhuman cries that the creatures made, and the casualty in which they phrased their words suggested that they weren't soldiers either. It couldn't be for certain unless they checked, and they had better do it soon before the strangers were upon them. Jacklyn stared at her brother firmly, eyes flicking between him and the direction from which the voices were originating, a sign that he should be the one to announce themselves. He resigned with a nod of reluctance and slowly removed the backpacks from his forearm to the ground, careful not to shift the contents lest they spill. He had no idea whether or not there people had guns, but he deemed that it was better to take the side of caution at this point. "Don't shoot," he said loudly and clearly. He paused for but a moment in case these people were jumpy and simply shot at any alien sound they heard, then came out from his spot of hiding, hands raised up to ear level.

There was a man who wore a weapon identical to the ones the soldiers had been using, slung across his chest over a dark, black trench coat. Not far from him was a young woman who also held a gun, alongside a small child who could be no older than five at the most. Both had blonde hair and closely resembling features with one another that either meant mother and daughter, -although Leon doubted it. Sisters or cousins, more likely.

Phoenix glanced over when Chris spoke up. Seeing the back-to-school aisle, she turned in that direction. Nikita stayed by her side, munching away on the chips. Phoenix was surprised there were any left in the bag.

Once down the aisle, she went right for the backpacks, tossing one to Chris and taking two for her and the child. Phoenix, being tired of speaking little, thought to atleast ask the man his name. It just felt weird not knowing anything of the man that she was lucky enough to had found or rather him finding then was mkre like it.

Before she could ask though. A different voice broke the silence, male to be exact. Phoenix's eyes moved to the spot it had come from. When she alwas about to make a move, not know who it was, a boy came out into her line of vision. She almost sighed in relief. He didn't seem infected but she didn't want to take any chance. Instead of doing anything she would later regret, she looked to Chris, allowing him to make a decisio. After all, he was the one in charge.

As chris caught the backpack he heard the voice of a younger boy, "Don't shoot." He pleaded, as Chris slung the backpack over one shoulder and quickly brought the assault rifle to his grip. A little boy emerged from the end of the isle, whom didn't seem to be infected. All was completely silent now as he looked over at Phoenix ensuring that her and the little girl were close by.

"Are you alone or bit?" Chris asked slowly while looking around and behind the boy for any trace of another person.

Jacklyn waited until the man spoke, instead of shooting bullet holes into then before deciding for herself that it was safe enough to come out from her own place of hiding. "Neither," she replied in answer to the question asked to Leon. She then emerged from her shadowed spot, arms raised in a shadowed gesture of not being a form of threat, a bag of dried apricots in one hand, strawberries in the other. It couldn't be seen clearly up to that point, but when the twins glanced at the garb of the other, then themselves in turn, they had quite a deal of blood on them. Not their own, they knew, but they could see why the man might believe it to be so. "This is my brother, Leon, and my name's-"
"-Jacklyn," the named boy ended for her, a small smile taking the harsher edges off his features. "We're just grabbing some dried food and water, cans are too heavy to carry with us. Then we'll leave to look for-"
"-clothes," Jacklyn eyed the gun for a moment, then added, "and maybe something to fight with?" Leon nodded, slowly lowering his hands so that she would imitate his look of calm as she followed suit.

Phoenix and the girl stood behind Chris. The young woman allowed the man to handle this. He asked the most important question to the boy. As the waited for a reply a young girl's voice spoke up answering for him. When she emerged from her hiding spot Phoenix notice the two looked alike, twins.

They were bloodied but seemed to not be infected. What had Phoenix believing they weren't was the fact they were speaking and stocking up as well. From what she knew the infected didn't do that. Also, by now they would have already changed completely.

Phoenix pushed Nikita behind her and then took a step forward, standing by Chris now. She looked to him before turning back to the twins.

"Why don't you two join us? You shouldn't be alone." She said, glancing to Chris to make sure it was alright to offer them that.

Chris stood in silence for a moment thinking after Phoenix asked them to join them. "Yeah we wouldn't mind you guys tagging along, after all that's more eyes out there." He implied as he gestured his head behind him to outside where death "I don't know how many other survivors there are either so it would be safer for all of us to stick together.."

"We'll need weapons though if we're to have a chance at staying alive, I think our best bet is those soldiers driving around town. I seen a few of them dead but who knows if they haven't been turned..."

A sour smell was beginning to fill the air, a cross between rotting meat and curdled milk that had placed in an oven to bake. Jacklyn seemed to be the only one to notice yet, though, pulling the sleeve of her cotton shirt down over her hand and using it to cover her nose. "We would love to come with you. Thank you," she replied with a grateful smile, voice only slightly muffled from the thin fabric. Why couldn't anyone else smell it? she wondered thoughtfully, looking around herself in confusion. There were a few refrigerators that were lined up beside one another behind her, a metal door and two wooden ones. All of which had knobs and locks except for the metal one, that had a large circular piece in its center, small metal stubs sticking out every few inches that gave her the impression of a steering wheel straight off a pirate ship. Odd. She looked back at Leon disapprovingly; he should be thanking them as well.

Leon nodded after receiving a firm look from his sister. "Yeah, thanks. We'll try to help you with whatever we can, whenever you need, hey?" He managed a quick smile, although his heart was still thumping irregularly in his chest. Even with him standing closest to Jacklyn, he couldn't understand what she was looking around for, not close enough to whatever she was sensing in order to detect it himself. Writing it off as understandable paranoia, he backpedaled to where he left their two bags and gathered them up onto his left forearm. "We should probably finish packing up..." he mumbled uncertainly, his sisters fidgeting starting to rub off on him. Hurrying over to the fridge to grab some water, he didn't even notice when his sneakers squeaked slightly after stepping into a small liquid puddle, it being too dimly lit to notice either it, or its dark red colouring.

Chris nodded his head in response after she spoke in approval. "Okay, yeah we should probably finish getting what we need and get out of here." He said before noticing that Jacklyn was beginning to cover her nose and looking around. As Leon walked over to pick up his satchel Chris caught a foul whiff in the air.

He looked at Jacklyn, then over at Phoenix. "Does anybody else smell that?" Chris asked curiously, not knowing what to expect. A noise came from what sounded like a couple isles away. Almost like a container of some sort hitting the ground. Chris instantly whipped his head over and waited a few moments for another noise. Then in an instant a cart rolled across the floor at the end of the isle behind them. They were not alone...

Rose had been hiding beneath the shelves in the grocery store owned by her parents for awhile now. The undead had come in waves and she was left with her incredible instinct of self preservation and complete denial of her fear. Eventually, the government stepped in and stole the zombie bodies away, apparently for inspection. They were in suits with masks like something in a quarantine situation and her parents were dragged off with them. From where Rose was hiding under the shelf, she watched her handcuffed parents be led away...alive. So now she had a clear plan.
Mode: Zombie
Mission: Save Parents & Kill zombies
Weapon: TBD

Rose had already checked the sports section with all the guns in the store, but she couldn't activate them. They were much easier to handle in her video games! So she had returned to her hiding spot, but apparently those stupid cop people in their quarantine suits had missed a few, cuz Mr. Zombie here is wandering in her isle, knocking stuff down and rolling a cart out into the main hall. 14 year old Rose had heard voices in the store, but she wasn't sure if it was safe to come out until now. And it wasn't. Yet.
Time to put her Zombie bashing skills to the test. In the TV screen, this would be a piece of cake. But in real life....well hopefully it would be less difficult than beating up the kids that tried to make fun of her at school. Just because she hasn't gotten puberty yet doesn't mean they have to be such assholes! So she doesn't have much on her chest yet. She considers that an advantage. So she'd stick to her video games and skateboarding and forget about the other stupid girls and their fashion. It's time to kick some zombie butt.
The thing shuffled down the isle with its rotting stench, but at least she knew it didn't have a buddy. Rose mustered her courage and kicked her leg out from under the shelf. The zombie screeched as it hit the ground hard and she swiftly climbed out from under her hiding spot to kick her sneaker into the upper part of its disgusting face over and over. "DIE YOU UNDEAD SCUM!" She screamed; the rotting brain squished under her sneakers and eventually it stopped moving. Yuck.

Phoenix was about to finish gathering suppies when Chris suggest they do before leaving, but before she.even moved he spoke again. His question confused her at first until she turned back to them. She inhaled without thinking, catching a rotting scent in the air.

"N-no." She breathed to herself, immediately knowing the infected had somehow went unseen when they'd first entered the store. Phoenix jerk in fear as an object fell. She aimed her gun up at the direction from where the noise was heard. Now, Nikita was in front of her. Expecting an infected to appear at any second, she carefully pushed Nikita out of the way and behind her. Then, a cart was rolling across the floor until it hit a shelf and stopping it.

She waited for the infected to come into sight, her gun at the ready.

The sound of something hitting the ground came first, then not a second after came a little girls voice screaming and the sound of brutal kicks. Chris stepped in front of Nikita as Phoenix pointed her gun in the direction of the cart. He then pointed the assault rifle in the same direction."Who's there? Step out and show yourself." He demanded, awaiting response.

Rose stomped her icky sneaker against the ground a few times to get the disgusting juices and pieces of skull off of her shoe until a guy yelled out from the main back-to-school area. She rolled her eyes. Did he have to be so dramatic? It's pretty frikkin obvious that she's alive.
Rose pulled out her skateboard from where it was hiding with her and carried it in one hand as she raised the other in the air. Her keen ears had heard the clicking of the guns so she knew they were armed. No big deal. They wouldn't hurt her. She huffed and widened her bright blue eyes at them, clearly showing the man and woman with the guns that she's not a stupid zombie. Duh. Behind them she could see a pair of younger people who looked alike and a little toddler. Stupid to bring her along, but to each their own she guessed.
"Sup." She uttered. She'd 'stepped out and showed herself'. That's what he wanted right? She almost smirked. Her parents hated when she turned smartass on them.

Jacklyn almost sighed in relief when she heard the man in the trench coat asking if anyone else could smell what he did, but the feeling was quickly replaced by the fear of the reality of the smell's existence. Meaning, her brain wasn't simply making it up in order to freak her out. It was real.

Leon spun around on his heels at the sound of something falling further down the isle that stood directly behind him and one to the left. Metal, followed by the squeak of rusty wheels as a shopping cart moved, seemingly of its own accord. The high voice of a girl was heard almost immediately, screaming at what was presumably a zombie, to die. It baffled the male twin, to some extent, as of to why the zombies were capable of dying if they were already dead. Shouldn't they be able to simply come back repeatedly until they were ash, or torn up into so many chunks that it would be impossible for them to survive? He pondered this for only a moment before becoming immediately thankful that this was not the case. Well... that he knew of anyway. He hadn't exactly stuck around one of the undead long enough after re-killing one of them to know this. He shuddered at the possibility.

Jacklyn watched the girl step out from where it sounded as if she must have stepped on one of those creatures to death, one hand up as the other clutched a skateboard. In answer to her greeting, she could help it as a fleeting grin tugged at her mouth. "The sky is up," Jacklyn answered sarcastically, but not unkindly, a smile adding to the fact that she was only joking. "Did the thing bite or scratch you just now?" she added in as an afterthought.

The older girl was the first to respond to her smart-alecky greeting. Rose let herself smirk at her reply. She seemed older than Rose by at least 2 years, if not more. She looked lucky to be alive.
In response to her question, Rose spun in a circle, arms and skateboard in the air as she turned. "I'm clean. My name's Roxse. Who are you guys?" She directed her question to the entire group, using the alias she came up with while playing Kingdom Hearts. In the game, the heartless nobodies identified themselves by mixing up their names and adding an X.
She figured she might as well know their names. Then maybe she could ask the armed ones how to load a real life gun.

Chris watched as Roxse held her arms up and turned in a circle and explained herself. 'A young girl whom was somehow very luckily survive the outbreak stood here unscathed. He really didn't know what to say for a moment before finally replying. "My name is Chris..." He looked over at Phoenix, then Jackylin awaiting their introductions. And to also see what the others thought of it..

Phoenix let out a breath she hadn't been aware of holding as a girl no older than fifteen, if she was even that old, stepped out into veiw. Nikita held her little arms around the young woman legs, and tried peeking at the new arrival between her big sister legs. Then, she'd hide behind Phoenix when she'd catch the girl looking at her, repeating her actions.

At first Phoenix didn't move or attempt to lower her gun, nor did she saying anything. She listened as the younger ones joked with one another. Until one of the twins turned their conversation into a more serious matter. The red hair girl asked the important question, that Phoenix should have asked.

Although, the early twenty year old already guessed what the answer would be, she still waited for a reply. A smile tugged at her lips at the teenage girl's respone. She was actually impressed by black hair girl. For her to have gotten this far on what seemed to be her being alone. Phoenix slowly lowered the gun, having been reassured that all was okay. For now at least

"This is Nikita." She said, moving slightly to the side so the child was in veiw. "I'm Phoenix." She added.

Looking at the girl now, it did seen quite miraculous that she had lived up to this point, but who wasn't it an amazing feet for. The government, perhaps. They were the most likely people to survive and their living came as no surprise, nor would their deaths once those came to pass. "Jacklyn," was her one word reply.

Liam finished tucking in the last bottle of water that would fit their bags and still leave room for any other belongings they might come across, just as Roxse asked who they were. One bag, he threw casually over one shoulder and the other he gave to his sister, watching as she placed it over both arms for a more secure grip, hands wrapped around the strings on either side that were used to adjust the length of the shoulder straps. Assured that she wouldn't be letting in any time soon, he returned to the 'back to school' display and took down two more backpacks from the rack. One was notably smaller than the rest and had a Disney princess picture on the front, which he offered to the small, four year old girl with a smile, crouching down into a frog position as he did so, allowing them to momentarily become the same height. He had heard that taller people were generally more intimidating, and he didn't want to scare the poor girl.

Standing, he gave another quick smile to the young woman who stood protectively beside her. "For the chips," he explained unnecessarily, and a little awkwardly, taking a hasty step back. Then, only pausing to stop and stare at the mutilated undead, he went up to the new girl and gave her the other bag. "Liam," he said tightly with the same small smile he had given to the other girls, then returned to stand beside his sister. "Nice hair," he mumbled under his breath.

The remark was met by a fierce elbow to his ribs, causing him to grin despite the pain, grabbing his side in case Jacklyn went in for a second assault. She didn't, instead substituting it with the look of death. She had loved her hair, its color, the waves, the way she carefully styled it in the mornings and put it up at night to prevent tangles. It had been a necessity to cut it off, leaving her with a pixie cut that suited neither the coloring nor the texture, and she hated him for so obviously pointing it out.

After all of the introductions and the twin boy's kindness towards the small child, Rose responded to his backpack gift by throwing it over her shoulder and giving him a half-smile. "Well Hi Liam and thanks..Hi Chris..Nikita, Phoenix...and Jacklyn. Were you guys hiding in here when the zombies came in too or did you come here later?" Rose questioned them, spinning her vertical skateboard with the top of her hand. If her parents weren't around to run the store anymore..does that mean it belongs to her now? Should she be worried about people stealing stuff. Oh what they heck it doesn't matter! This is the zombie apocalypse for crying out loud. If they needed to stock up, she'd let them. No biggie.

Jack slamed agenst the wall of the mall panting. His gear whighed him down, but that wasent it he was used to that already, the fact that he just killed 15 of those undead basterds with his sword was. He was fit from his years of traning with his finatic of a father; survivel, bow hunting, fighting among other things, oh and not to menchen ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE survivel & strategy. "well who's the finatic now?" he said to him self laughing a little then geting up to look at the parkinglot seeing if there were any undead. there weren't but there were a fue cars and trucks "Maybe i can hot wire one after i get some suplies and a bow, quiver and arrows." He said. He went over to the mane door and as a precoution drew his sword it was a wicked looking long sword and razer sharp. he opened the door and crenged as the bell ringed and entered
