Under The Influence

Kate sighed softly and stared into Kestreels chest; she knew that he had hurt her once and knew that it was quite possible he would do it again. She imagined that he had quit his life as a Birman after acquiring so much money but that certainly did not make him livable or lovable. What would happen if he once again found something that was more important than she was or that he cared about more than her happiness? There was no way that Kate was willing to risk her heart again... She had been hurt enough times and wasn't ready for it again. Kate knew that she have to find a way to preserve herself... But at the same time, she knew that if she was to turn him away she'd be losing a huge part of herself forever.

"I will go with you," she murmured. Somewhere in the background she could hear Daniel cheering but she wasn't finished. "But under one condition.... We get married first."

Kestreel looked at his beauty, staring into her eyes for a couple of seconds before answering. Daniel seemed eager to know too, for he froze when she asked. In fact, everything seemed to freeze when her words came out of her little mouth. Kestreel knew he loved her, and even needed her as much as he needed air. And by the looks of her, she also seemed to love him and need him as much as he did.

Then the answer was obvious, and for once in his life, something would have a good ending for him. Kestreel grabbed Kate and lifted her between his strong arms, taking her to the main door bridal style. "Of course I will marry you, Princess." Said him. Then he opened the door and looked at Daniel an at that redhead girl. "Come on, we will need your help. We are getting married." Said him with a smile. Then looking back at Kate he kissed her again. "Now."

By the end of the day the two of them were married -- Mr. and Mrs., husband and wife. Kate didn't gen fully comprehend what had happened until she a fancy diamond ring on her finger and was sitting in the passenger seat of Kestreels new, shiny and pristine car. The young woman knew that their lives would not get easy from this point forward but at least she knew that they were headed in the right direction. They were bound for life now, no more hiding and running away, pretending as though they did not have a special connection.
Kestreel offered to give his bride a beautiful ceremony and a big white dress as a second wedding celebration, but Kate just shrugged and shook her head. Dirty rich or not, Kate didn't want any of that fancy stuff from her new husband... This was all that she truly wanted... A loving husband and a hopeful future.

They parked into a grand hotel and Kate smiled happily as she slid her arm in between Kestreels, but body still rigid and firm as she remembered fondly of their time together. And for awhile it felt like nothing have changed and that time and distance had never seperated them. Kate laughed lout when he carried her bridal style into the room and plopped her down onto the bed. For a moment the new bride just stared at his powerful and handsome presence, glad that she could call this very wonderful man her husband.

Kate grinned and pressed her head back down into the plush pillows. After a deep and cleansing sigh she murmured, "it's over. It's finally over."
