Trapped Between

The clip-a-ty clop-a-ty of the horse hoofs began to lull Keira to sleep, she hadn't gotten a lot lately, not with all that has been on her mind. As she half slept, dreams began to fill her mind, steaming from the whispers of the wind. They told her stories and tales of those before her. The rustle they caused in the leaves and bushes seemed to be them shivering in fear. Before the dream cold take complete hold of her, the sudden arrival of a deer spooked her horse, but only because Obsidian decided to chase after it. Keria would have called her back, but now they were only a few miles from town, and they did not take kindly to wolves. "We're nearly there," she informed Kali, looking back to see if she was awake.
 
"Are you going to wander the city again? Or are you going to stay with me?" Kali asked. She looked at the city a bit ahead and thought of bread and all other food, like meats... chicken or beef perhaps. She could already smell it already taste it, already see it! What a tasty little meal she thought of bread and hot applecider and turkey and cranberries!
