Town of Anorona

Lana quietly handed the coins to Joey, the clerk behind the counter, smiling kindly. Men didn't interest her at all, but she tried not to let them know that in case she ever needed to manipulate one. She glanced over her shoulder as the mysterious man from the inn spoke to the other bakery employee, informing him that he had taken over the armoire next-door. Well, now she knew that he was a non-vampire who owned an armoury. She hoped that this was the real reason he had entered the bakery, and not that he had been following her.

She took the box that contained her beautiful chocolate cake from the clerk, ignoring his brief banter with the other employee as they squealed over the retirement of, apparently, whoever the woman who previously owned the armoury was. She was just about to turn and leave when the strange man moved forward and grabbed the second employee by the neck, threatening him that he'd die if he ever spoke ill of that woman again. Lana's eyes widened.

"Stop it," she snapped, pausing for a moment. "Both of you. There's no need to threaten anyone, but there's also no reason to talk like that about an old lady." She directed her hazel eyes to each man in turn as she criticized his deed.

Kobayashi Libra, known as Koba the Slayer, to those who had heard of him, trotted into town on his horse, Luna, and set her in the stables, tying her to one of the nearby posts.

The owner of the stable came out to greet him and collect the obvious tax that had to be deducted from the coffers of the bounty hunter.

Lucky his last job had landed him a decent sum of gold, his employer, the lead councillor of a village commune, had tasked him with destroying a nearby bandit camp with a few half trained villagers by his side. The bandits had cleaved their defence, while Kobayashi did the same, slaying the Bandit Lord and taking his head as recognition of his achievement.

However, the man recognised his face, and told him hurriedly that Koba had saved his cousin by destroying the bandit camp, so he could keep Luna in the stables for as long as needed. He headed to the nearby inn, hoping to find rumours of bounties and such to fulfil his interest.

The Shade stopped at the door of the bakery and turned back to look at the redhead with it's eyeless gaze. "Perhaps... Perhaps there was no need to threaten him... He would not have stopped however, he would not have stopped at just insulting her." The Shade walked up to her now and loomed over her, "Activity like that leads to dissension and in-fighting, I have seen entire empires crumble because the populace has no respect." The Shade turned on it's heel and strode out the door.

Lana stared apprehensively up at the man as he approached her, speaking in a chilling voice. She couldn't help but wonder what the creature was, how it was that it could walk in the daylight. Of course, Lana knew very little about magical and mythical beings - she knew of the few that roamed about in the woods near the Kingdom she had called home, having gone out foraging and scavenging for Adaryn many times, but this was obviously no common beast. She stood there in silence as the stranger turned sharply and left, and she glanced towards the employee that the strange being had grabbed.

"You watch what you say," she snapped, as if everything was his fault. "I'm pretty sure he meant business." With that, Lana made her own way to the door, carefully carrying the box containing her sweet cake, and left the building. She gazed around slowly before beginning back in the direction of the inn, excited to get back to her siblings - and anxious, too, wanting to make sure Grace was alright. She hurried along as best as she could, though she didn't move quickly for fear of dropping the cake. The long black skirt of her dress swished at her ankles as she made her way down the street, seeing the inn before too long. She smiled to herself, hazel eyes sparkling as she hurried over to the building.

As she opened the door and stepped in, the first thing to catch her eye was a newcomer who hadn't been there when she had left. The mysterious man had not returned here, but this new dark-haired man appeared to have just arrived. She silently hoped that it wasn't the same person, a brief thought darting through her mind, questioning the existence of shapeshifters. Could such a thing exist? She shook it off, carefully setting the box down on one table so that she could lift her pale hands and adjust her long, silky red strands of hair. It had all fallen out of place, tousled by the wind and her movements on the way here, so she carefully smoothed it down and tucked loose ends back behind her ears.

Damien walked into the inn with his hands in his pocket. He stood tall, around six feet tall. He had his massive, demon like tail wrapped around his massive chest in a very odd way, but it couldn't be seen through his shirt. He had dark grey eyes that seemed vacant. He had black hair that covered most of his neck and almost made it down to his shoulders. He had a few minor scars along his left cheek and along his ears. His ears are a bit pointed, but hardly noticeable until someone gets a good stare on him. His teeth were more less small canine fangs. He had chains around his pockets. He walked into the inn and simply said,"I heard this is a inn..." he spoke in a harsh voice, as if the inn keeper had done something wrong, but he didn't have a look of anger in his eyes. He put his massive boot up to the wall and tugged a little on his jacket to fix it a little and waited for the inn keep.

Rona looked at the new face, "Yes, it is. Anorona Inn, to be exact," she paused, standing back up at the counter, "Would you like a drink, or a room? Rooms are free, Meads and Ales are fifty gold a mug" She finished, hand on a mug, waiting for his answer.

Lana turned around as she heard the door open, frowning a bit as she found herself face-to-face with yet another strange being, one with almost vacant, empty dark eyes and a harsh voice. What was this place? Why did all these strange beings keep showing up, and how did Rona keep so calm? Did they think Lana strange for being half elf and half vampire? It sure sounded like a strange mix, the humans with whom she had lived previously would probably agree.

Although it had been late evening back home when they came here, Lana typically did her best work at night. Working with Adaryn kept her busy, so frankly, she wasn't tired. She decided to stay up, setting the cake box gently down on a table and hoping that Grace had locked the door behind her. It was morning there, time to embrace the time change. She decided to wait until Rona was done with the large and unsettling patron who had entered - then Lana would order another drink before quietly asking the pretty innkeeper about the names.
