Roxy's tough facade melted and she suddenly felt more like a pup. To compose herself she sat up a bit straighter, shoulders fighting the urge to slump. Soon her eyes peeled from the pavement to meet Muse's. Now was not the time to submit, that would ruin the situation. They were to be equal, whether they liked it or not. At this point though, it seemed as though that's what they both wanted. They held a steady gaze and Roxy waited for a response.
Muse delivered with a small joke. The small smile was reciprocated, but the tension made Roxy's smile more like a grimace. She nearly flinched when Muse's shoulder was pressed against hers, but was soon engulfed by a sense of comfort, loosening up a bit. It wasn't even a conscious move. Just a reflex. Muse was on board with rekindling their friendship, which was more than Roxy could have ever hoped for. Excitement swelled in her chest. Perhaps she was done being lonely. Emotions shifted back and forth rapidly. This situation was a lot to take in.
As Muse spoke again Roxy nodded when appropriate, brow furrowed slightly in concentration, intense eyes focused. A business like demeanor washed over her at the mention of the gang war, but internal reprimanding shifted her back to a more companion like persona. More casual. "Yes, we don't need this destruction. It was becoming less fun, especially when things escalated into an explosion. We could have been really hurt...."
Roxy steeled herself. "I missed you too...a lot. And...I forgive you...mostly. That's okay though, we don't have to rush things. Obviously a lot has changed."
Muse got in Roxy's face. Roxy's lips quivered and a smile appeared. Then she took a bold move. In a flash of movement she wrapped her arms around Muse to embrace her. "I missed you, you feline asshole."
