Appearance: Wears a black jacket, blue jeans, grey shirt, brown shoes in normal attire. When the temperature lowers to the point he can see his breath, Evan wears a pair of black gloves, and a scarf Celia gave him when he was 12.
(Updated the image since I didn't really like the story I had written for how he lost his eye, and in the end I scrapped it.)

History: Born to a middle-class family in Germany, Evan grew up with his sister Celia, along with his mother and father. His father and mother both adored Celia over him, considering him a mistake and a "failed abortion." At age eight, he was caught in the web of murder, when he found that his parents had coerced an elderly couple into giving them money in an attempt to give Celia a better living condition. After their plot had failed, they murdered the couple in his house upstairs while he and Celia were watching T.V. and eating pizza. After he found out in the most horrifying trip to the bathroom he had, his mother confronted him, and told him that if he spoke a word, she would kill him like she should have done eight years ago. Finally, he bolted from the house after running from the window and was able to call 911, locking up his mother and his father. While Celia at the time had no idea what was happening, he managed to convince her that they were just going on vacation for a long time, and had left them in the care of their uncle. Their uncle was a kind man, who raised up both Evan and Celia until Evan was of age to go to college, when he walked in to call his uncle down for dinner, and he found a knife plunged in his uncle's chest, with the scarlet words soon engraved on the wall behind him. The day after, he had news that his parents had somehow escaped from prison a week ago. Having to pay for the funeral service was a serious blow, as Evan didn't have a job, nor did he understand how funerals worked. As a result, a funeral that costed $3,000 turned into a $6,000 expenditure. Over the years, after working in retail, Evan slowly was able to recover, and became the de facto cook of the household, treating Celia to more humble and cheap meals, such as mac and cheese, along with instant noodles. On Saturdays, he would cook up a couple of hamburgers for the pair. While he generally dislikes people, he can appreciate Celia's quiet nature, and genuinely tries to take care of his sister. At age sixteen, Evan began dating a girl named Hotaru, who was a year younger than him. However, an incident occurred, and Hotaru passed away. He constantly hear Monroe, a friend of Hotaru, blaming him for the incident. After hearing about "Total Drama Island" he decided to partake in it, deciding that it might help him financially, and even then, if it meant time away where he could escape from his parents he would take it, and from his past sins. Before leaving he entrusted Celia to his aunt, with instructions on giving her hamburgers on Saturdays.
Other: Over the years after the murders, Evan could never forget what happened, and has consequently grown a split personality, one that has, to an extent, "absorbed" most of the twisted lessons of his father and mother, and constantly strives for death. "Knave" as he calls the split, behaves very oddly, and its unsure what his ultimate goal is. Over time, Evan had outgrown his fear of his parents, and had instead learned to fear Knave, as Knave is a constant factor he has to deal with in his life, and is very unpredictable. Not only that, but he believes Knave is the reason why Hotaru died. After consulting his local doctor, he was able to get pills that helped his mental condition.
Unbeknownst to Evan, however, the constant use of the medication had weakened their use, and while the chance is low, Knave can reappear.
